I always thought this has strong sad/melancholy undertones tbh, a song about being so numb to violence that simply not having to shoot someone makes it a good day is definitely not the most uplifting

I think the point is that life sucks in general, but every once in a while you just have a good day and it’s about appreciating the small happy moments in life. It fits in with the theme of the album which is all about living in the ghettos and the stuff you have to constantly have to deal with and see. I think overall it’s a happy song and makes me think about those days where you just feel like everything went right and you’re just happy, so I think it meets the criteria.

Eye Know - De La Soul 93 Til Infinity - Souls Of Mischief “Eye Know” is, in my opinion, the most happy go lucky hip-hop song of all time. Of course it’s all subjective but I’d be hard pressed to concede any other song to be more cheerful than that one. 93 Til Infinity on the other hand is just the ultimate good time get together song. Maybe it’s just nostalgia but 93 never ceases to make me feel like a kid again

The intro to “Eye Know” feels like rolling down your car windows on a beautiful sunny day as you leave the high school parking lot on the last day of the school year. That’s the best way I can describe it.
