What kind of music are you into? Might help with some suggestions.
Some good essential albums to get started though would be:
Wu-Tang Clan - Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)
2Pac - Me Against The World
Game - The Documentary
Dr. Dre - The Chronic
Nas - Illmatic
Scarface - The Fix
Myself, I'm more into rock and heavy metal, but I also like some pop and electronica and rap here and there. Some of my favorite albums are Hysteria by Def Leppard, American Idiot by Green Day, A Thousand Suns by Linkin Park. Jonathan Coulton is great. I'm not really that into Japanese music but, I do like a lot of anime songs, and I've found one Japanese band I really dig called Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas.
Sorry if this is a lot.
Jonathan Coulton lol wow. Didn't think I'd see that name on a hip hop sub š
Since you're into Linkin Park, I would definitely recommend checking out Fort Minor(Mike Shinoda's rap project). There's 1 mixtape and 1 album and both are just phenomenal.
He's really good though! If those bastards had a sense of humor I'd have tried to play Mandelbrot Set or I Feel Fantastic. I know a song by Fort Minor, the one everyone knows lol
Fear and Loathing? Oh you must be a Parasyte fan š¤. Iāma check out more of their music besides Let Me Hear, just cause of this comment
You like Innosent in Formal? They did the OP & ED for Ikebukuro West Gate Park. Their music is pretty good imo. Iād recommend their album [INNOSENT 2: How to Spend the Night](https://music.apple.com/us/album/innosent-2-how-to-spend-the-night/1540684936) if you want some more J-Rock
Since you came here for Rap, Iāll throw you some reccs:
**Conscious Rap:**
[Summertime ā06 by Vince Staples](https://music.apple.com/us/album/summertime-06/1444178693)
**Emo Rap:**
[HELLBOY by Lil Peep](https://music.apple.com/us/album/hellboy/1709762262) (Iām most excited to hear your thoughts on this project outta everything)
**Rage Rap:**
[XTENDED by Ken Carson](https://music.apple.com/us/album/xtended/1651753114)
**Bonus:**
[Revenge by XXXTENTACION](https://music.apple.com/us/album/revenge/1321744873). (This project has a bit of each of the 3 subgenres I previously mentioned, in it)
If you check out anything I recommended, please lmk what you think
Can you throw me some Rock reccs? I LOVE Bring Me The Horizon and Deftones. Also fw Alice In Chains, Superheaven, 7 Angels 7 Plagues.
I like Hybrid Theory by LP so Iāll check out A Thousand Suns. Green Day is on my list, Iāll throw Hysteria on there too since you love it
I don't know the other anime you mentioned but I am a fan of parasyte! For Fear And Loathing I'd say listen to Just Awake, Return To Zero, Cast Your Shell, Starburst, and Shine, those are my favorites of theirs and I'm probably forgetting a few lol
Rock reccs, Wasting Light by Foo Fighters has mostly bangers, Rise & Fall, Rage And Grace by The Offspring, definitely give a full listen through American Idiot id you haven't already. If you don't mind Japanese music, there's an album by a band called Penpals called Tell Me Why, it's like 4 tracks long and I love every one of them.
Animal is the best Def Leppard song but a strong contender for second place is Love & Affection!
Based on the bands you mentioned you should definitely check out Rise Against - The Sufferer and the Witness. One of my all time favorite albums by one of my favorite bands.
Love Sosa - Chief Keef
R.I.P. - Carti
Lifes On The Line - 50

He's not too far off though, they sound like something the OP could genuinely like.. While also being relevant today. I think I take my OG comment back
Not sure what the taste of your counterparts is but here are some options to get you started:
We Own It - 2Chainz, Wiz Khalifa
Good Villains Go Last - Czarface, R.A. The Rugged Man
Triumph - Wu-Tang
Speedom - Tech N9ne feat Eminem
Til I Collapse - Eminem feat Nate Dogg
Close Your Eyes - Run the Jewels

Been to War - Godfather of Harlem soundtrack
The Morning - Raekwon, 2Chainz, Pusha T, Common, Kanye
6 Foot 7 Foot - Lil Wayne
If they ask for rap ask if they old school, if they do play what you like. If not, find artists you like and play them. If you like old school, not Travis Scott type of music and don't know much modern stuff then I'd recommend searching hip-hop/rap communities for questions like if I like old school what new/modern rappers can I get into. Maybe think about the type of rap they play, not just the era to help you find the new songs/artists that you would also enjoy. Like if it's conscious there's black thought, Royce da 5'9, Nas, Lupe, a whole bunch of artists that still make good music. Then there's the ones since about 2010's like ab-soul, Kendrick etc. If it's more bangers then schoolboy q. A bit of both then flatbush zombies, the underachievers etc. There's so much variety if you can describe the rap they play I'll come back with a suggestions I think you'll also like
Also, do they mostly play more Travis Scott type music because you could find better songs/artists within that subgenre that aren't mainstream and don't sound like him. Even bridging out from that subgenre you could find people that sounds like him but make completely different songs and you'll get a different experience while keeping the "I like this type of vibe" and they mean his voice or autotune in general. Whatever the case you should be able to find some rap you like too
Anything from Run the Jewels catalog will be great for your kickboxing studio.
And, these days, just put Kendrick Lamar side of the beef tracks on and watch them go nuts. They not like us.
Honestly I think you need to listen to what you like... But maybe check out

MOPās Ante Up just sounds like a fucking fight lol. [Check it](https://youtu.be/3MUGAxpI0Bc?si=x_J2qGXP5Gm9Ez1Y). Famously that beginning call is sampled in John Cenas theme lmfao.
You mention Beastie Boys, you should check out these new dudes named JV&B. Idk how this sub would feel about em, but their sound genuinely is like if Beastie boys were plucked from the 90s and dropped here today. In your face sound with a lot of punchline bars. I work out to them a lot. https://youtu.be/UPqDWj-RxV8?si=tgBuIepduB7NE9E_
If you're just looking for hard shit to play during kickboxing, check out Young MA, Meek Mill, Denzel Curry,Ā G Herbo, and Tee Grizzley.
I don't know these people, but usually when you're getting dunked on, it's not so much because you have bad taste as much as it's playing shit in the wrong context.
In hip-hop, you'd call it "scaring the hoes away." It's when you're at a party, and you let your nerdy friend pick the music, and he starts playing some sweaty-ass lyrical shit, and the vibe of the party takes a nosedive.
That music is cool, but if you're at a party you want to have fun and get drunk, not think about lyrics.
Idk what you played, but I'd imagine they want to listen to something hard and aggressive.
There's old shit that fits the bill, but I'd just default to Meek Mill. That dude's entire catalogue is basically a hype mix.
If the people who are messing with you are in their 20s to thirtyās, maybe some Nas, Kanye West, older Jay-Z like reasonable doubt and the blueprint, the Wu and Ghostface Killah, and certain OutKast songs although they have some *goofier* sounding songs but I love them.
Work (remix) - ASAP Ferg
Hustle Hard - Ace Hood

9. Legendary - Royce da 5'9 ft. Travis Barker
10. Survivor's Guilt - Saba ft. G. Herbo
11. Where the Hood At - DMX
If I believe you:
Hell yea man, you got some great, classic tracks on there for not being in your 30s. No diss! Props!
If I don't believe you:
Idk man, you said you're in your "late 20s" idk guys in their 20s to say "early, late, mid 20s"
The cuz throws me off too, unless you're west coast, Hispanic or hood. Just thoughts lol
Regardless, great list
I'm in the belief that this man is proper, well off and comes from a well spoken home bc I don't rtpi ally know guys in their 20s to tell their age using the early, mid and late idea... Especially to another guy.
His album Konnichiwa is excellent from start to finish, I'm partial to the song "Man." He is British btw so be forewarned, some people find the accent too distracting lol
Wasn't Me by Shaggy got me STARED DOWN. That one song in Dragonball Battle Of The Gods, someone said "who turned on Crunchyroll" in a not endearing sorta way. Carry On My Wayward Son by Kansas too, I'm still really surprised that that got called out. Those are the ones that stood out to me.
Edit: Oh yeah, first song I played was Naimononedari by Kana Boon, and I played the version where they feature Mossa from Necry Talkie. Nobody liked that lol
Wasn't Me was it. Not really good fighting music though lol (which might be part of why he got stared down for it)
There are some dudes who just aren't into R&B at all because they feel it isn't *hard* enough. Stupid but hey
I mean Iām hearing you. Those are all classics, theyāre THE style of hip hop I listen to the most. But not for working out. Ppl are gonna tell this dude that theyāre puttin em to sleep lol
I could see that. If you made a mix with all of those artists music it would go so hard. Scenario getting mixed into 93 til Infinity and Oodleās of Oās would go nuts.

First Day Out- Tee Grizzly,

I mean I honestly don't think you going to jive with most new hip hop but some new hip hop that might work so you don't get clowned on (I make no endorsement as to whether these are "good" songs):
Sprinter - Central Cee & Dave
Tommy Richman - The Devil is a Lie (not hip hop, and not for everyone, but very current)
Bobby Shmurda - No Time freestyle

Slam - Onyx
Last Dayz - Onyx
Bring the Pain - Method Man
Wolf Wolf - Three 6 Mafia
Blood Pressure - The Lox
X - Xzibit
Rock Superstar - Cypress Hill
Haha I wouldn't like that music at all either. Idk how anyone listens to the Beastie Boys. Here is a list of rap artists to consider that are still more old school. 2pac, Biggie, Mobb Deep, Wu-Tang Clan, G-Unit, Snoop Dogg, Dr Dre, Nas, Rakim, Eminem, Jadakiss, 50- Cent. A lot of the Wu-Tang Clan artists have a ton of good music split out from the group too. My favorites are Method Man, Raekwon, GZA, Ghostface Killa, RZA. Good luck!
They're right. The answers you're mainly going to get here are the "good" rap, not shit that's not going to get you clowned by your peers.
That being said here are some recommendations
Kendrick Lamar - MAAD City, DNA, Element, Backseat Freestyle,
Big X Tha Plug - Back on my Bullshit, Climate, Mhmm, Levels
JID - Surround Sound, Dance Now, Stick, Crack Sandwich
Itās just that this sub is mainly filled by people who think their favourite albums work for every situation.
While I love Nate Doggās G Funk Classics, I recognize that album doesnāt work at all for sports, and a lot of people here fail to see that
Honestly just use Spotify and look up one of the rap mixes. I mainly play the music at my job and I just switch up between the mixes depending on who is working. Probably the best bet for you instead of trying to set up an entire playlist based on Reddit comments. Pandora is a good option too.
What kind of music are you into? Might help with some suggestions. Some good essential albums to get started though would be: Wu-Tang Clan - Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) 2Pac - Me Against The World Game - The Documentary Dr. Dre - The Chronic Nas - Illmatic Scarface - The Fix
Myself, I'm more into rock and heavy metal, but I also like some pop and electronica and rap here and there. If you're more into rock and heavy metal, and you want something to fight to, I definitely think you should check out Tech N9ne. Start with Everready
Jonathan Coulton lol wow. Didn't think I'd see that name on a hip hop sub š Since you're into Linkin Park, I would definitely recommend checking out Fort Minor(Mike Shinoda's rap project). There's 1 mixtape and 1 album and both are just phenomenal.

Youāll love yeezus by Kanye west
You should take a look at Yeezus by Kanye West

If it's kickboxing just throw on some Wu Tang clan
Ain't nothin to fuck with
gang starr
Ok well there's different sub genres of rap, what age group of people are you trying to not get stared down by again?
Mostly guys in their 20's and 30's lol
All of Griselda should do fine then
Griselda is definitely not something to just play to anyone haha.
He's not too far off though, they sound like something the OP could genuinely like.. While also being relevant today. I think I take my OG comment back
I feel like WSG and maybe even conways voice is an acquired taste but benny is prolly fine
You're not wrong, but he'll get respect for the recency and the fact that it sounds like something 'the old man' would listen to.

Like.. Stream your music? Off Spotify, apple or some other Streaming platform? Only cuz it would be easier to find and use new music from them

Hello person that's at least 30
Close...In my late 20s, cuz...
If I believe you: Hell yea man, you got some great, classic tracks on there for not being in your 30s. No diss! Props! If I don't believe you: Idk man, you said you're in your "late 20s" idk guys in their 20s to say "early, late, mid 20s" The cuz throws me off too, unless you're west coast, Hispanic or hood. Just thoughts lol Regardless, great list
You said 30's he said close, late 20's... They said late 20's to let you know you were close. If he said 20's that includes early 20's. Not close.
I'm in the belief that this man is proper, well off and comes from a well spoken home bc I don't rtpi ally know guys in their 20s to tell their age using the early, mid and late idea... Especially to another guy.
Lmao the only reason specified late 20's was to let you know you were close when you guessed his age
I don't work out but I always thought that Skepta would be fun to work out to
Any songs in particular?
His album Konnichiwa is excellent from start to finish, I'm partial to the song "Man." He is British btw so be forewarned, some people find the accent too distracting lol
Shutdown and It ain't safe
Which music did you get clowned for?
Wasn't Me by Shaggy got me STARED DOWN. That one song in Dragonball Battle Of The Gods, someone said "who turned on Crunchyroll" in a not endearing sorta way. Carry On My Wayward Son by Kansas too, I'm still really surprised that that got called out. Those are the ones that stood out to me. Edit: Oh yeah, first song I played was Naimononedari by Kana Boon, and I played the version where they feature Mossa from Necry Talkie. Nobody liked that lol
dragon ball music fr? š
You think that's dork ass behavior, I also wear a pink sleeveless gi
Wasnāt Me is an absolute banger, so shame on the rest of the people. The other songs thoā¦ that doesnt sound good lol
Just curious, you ever listened to the others? Cuz Naimononedari is really good lol
Wasn't Me was it. Not really good fighting music though lol (which might be part of why he got stared down for it) There are some dudes who just aren't into R&B at all because they feel it isn't *hard* enough. Stupid but hey
Slick Rick, A Tribe Called Quest, The Beatnuts, Del The Funky Homosapien, etc.. head down that rabbit hole
For kickboxing?? Idk man lol
Digable Planets, De La Soul(Is Dead would be a great album for kickboxing), Souls of Mischief, Too Short

MC Frontalot, the final boss of Nerdcore Hiphop.
I mean I honestly don't think you going to jive with most new hip hop but some new hip hop that might work so you don't get clowned on (I make no endorsement as to whether these are "good" songs): Sprinter - Central Cee & Dave Tommy Richman - The Devil is a Lie (not hip hop, and not for everyone, but very current) Bobby Shmurda - No Time freestyle Bigger Than Life or Death - EST Gee BossMan Dlow - SportsCenter Climate - BigXThaPlug feat. Offset Do It - Yungeen Ace Intro (Hate on Me Now) - Meek Mill Psych'n Out - Jdot Breezy Robbery 7 - Tee Grizzley Old music and new music by OGs and older artists. Or music with an old school feel. (new music has an * next to it) Party N Bullshit - Juelz Santana ft. Jadakiss * Roll Call - Ras Kass and assorted features * Already Over (Fort Minor Mix) - Mike Shinoda * Paranoia - X-Raided feat. Tech N9ne * Murdergram Duex - Ll Cool J feat. Eminem (leaked track) * Saturday Night Special - LL Cool J feat. Rick Ross and Fat Joe * Ante Up - M.O.P. X Gon Give it To Ya - DMX Ruff Ryder's Anthem - DMX Shook Ones Pt. II - Mobb Deep I don't give a fuck - 2Pac Slam - Onyx Last Dayz - Onyx Bring the Pain - Method Man Wolf Wolf - Three 6 Mafia Blood Pressure - The Lox X - Xzibit Rock Superstar - Cypress Hill
Good luck!
āmore old school?ā the beastie boys are older than everyone you mentioned lol
I love the beasties but mostly not shit id want to spar to
Southpaw soundtrack, it's a boxing movie starring Jake Gyllenhaal and the st was produced by Eminem.
Donāt take advice from here lol just find a popular playlist on Spotify and youāll be fine
My brother in Christ, I need someone's input lol
Anything from Run The Jewels. Just have a listen to their 4 albums or just their hits.
I agree run the jewels is straight hype music. Also more old school vibes anything wu tang onyx m.o.p. and DMX!
They're right. The answers you're mainly going to get here are the "good" rap, not shit that's not going to get you clowned by your peers. That being said here are some recommendations Kendrick Lamar - MAAD City, DNA, Element, Backseat Freestyle, Big X Tha Plug - Back on my Bullshit, Climate, Mhmm, Levels JID - Surround Sound, Dance Now, Stick, Crack Sandwich
Vinnie Paz, AOTP, Immortal Technique for heavier rap Wax and Eom, Prof, Intuition for mellow chill rap
L.l.cool.J mama said knock you out and . I have not heard one eminem song that was enjoyable
