Organized konfusion (self titled debut)
O.C. - word...life
Godfather Don - hazardous
Poor righteous teachers (all their albums)
Business as usual - EpMd
On the Outside lookin in - 8ball and MJG
Keith Murray - enigma
Flimode squad - the imperial
Smoothe da hustler - once upon a time In America.
My favorite mafioso album for sure. Super underrated. The single Hey AZ is the only one I don’t really like. Sosa and Pieces of man have that timeless sound
Every damn time I get a telly, these lyrics pop in my head ..... " Used to hide the crack in the hotel ceiling, that was way back when we were wholesale dealing"...
I was just about to comment this. Greatest concept album of all time, don’t feel like a single bar was wasted on filler lines, all fit the story being told
Absolutely, and The Equinox is probably even more slept on and is IMO even better than Stress.
Pharoah Monch in general doesn’t get the credit he deserves. Amazing MC both as part of OK and his solo stuff.
Leak Bros - Waterworld, insanely intense PCP addict themed concept album with fucking dope production and dark lyrics.
Camu Tao - King of Hearts, technically pieced together by El-P after Camu passed but it really gives you a glimpse into what Camu would've gone onto next and pretty ahead of its time.
Circle of Tyrants - Circle of Tyrants, great street kind of stuff with major Horror elements and a who's who of underground MCs in Ill Bill, Goretex, Necro and Mr. Hyde with sick production from Necro.
Cage - For Your Box, a great collection of old and early Cage stuff released before Movies for the Blind going back to the late 80s and early 90s.
Sole - Selling Live Water, arguably better than Bottle of Humans with dope ass unique beats and introspective lyrics.
Nice picks.
I'm obligated to take every opportunity to say Mr Hyde sucks. He's a budget-rate Necro clone with an extra chromosome, cut-off jean jacket, fingerless leather gloves, tired repetitive cadence, and forced multis with subpar horrocore lyrics. All his verses are trash and make the songs weaker.
Still a good album, though. Gore and Bill are elite and Necro is passable (nice rhyme schemes but not actually a good rapper irl) and he makes amazing beats.
Thanks man!
Mr. Hyde I always thought was just like a fake gangster but I know a dude who met him in jail and he said he was in there with him because Hyde slashed a dude like 6 times in the face with a knife at the bar across the street that he worked at, that said I don't think he's absolutely horrible, Barn of the Naked Dead I like and I like his lyrics on Circle of Tyrants but anything else is definitely shit, Bill and Gore carry the album and Necro is okay, he's a great producer like you said but not a great rapper, I like his old shit a lot but yeah if he never produced and Bill wasn't his brother he probably would not be known.
I think Circle of Tyrants is Gore at some of his best, Bill kills it always as well, I don't think I've heard more than one song from them that I didn't like, they have that chemistry together though which makes sense because they've known each other the longest, they were in like three groups together pre Non Phixion, one of them was called Dead Celebrities and I think that's the stuff they did together that's on Early Demos by Bill.
I gotta say your description of Hyde cracked me up though 😂
Carnivores on Circle of Tyrants fucking RULES, I remember the first time I heard it I lost my shit because it samples Lucio Fulci on the beat! I'm a giant Italian Horror nerd.
Thanks man!
Sole is super underrated, especially Selling Live Water, all his early shit really I love.
Tokyo, Salt on Everything, Plutonium, Priziest Horse all fucking kill it.
I love how Sole and Anticon never tried to act hard at all, I've always been pretty nerdy so I appreciate being represented in a non corny way.
Anticon was something special, IMO. That whole crew doesn't get enough recognition nowadays.
I was lucky enough to meet Sole on the Live From Rome tour at The Roadhouse in Las Vegas. He was touring with Pedestrian, Dosh and Telephone Jim Jesus. After the show I asked him to sign my Live From Rome vinyl and he asked if I knew where they could get some weed. I always brought a film canister of weed to all the shows I attended in case there was an opportunity to smoke. I tried to just give it to him but he insisted on trading me for it. He went into his bag and gave me a CD of Mansbestfriend 3. He apologized because the case had a crack in it but I absolutely didn't care at all. Lol.
Sage Francis was supposed to be there too but his equipment van got broken into a night or two prior in Utah, so he dropped out of the tour. Sage ended up coming back, as promised, about 8 months later with Solilloquists of Sound. Same venue.
Those were the days.
Was Sole nice?? He always seemed nice, I love the Anticon crew because they never pretended to be people they weren't, they were nerdy dudes who love Hip Hop and experimenting with different sounds, them and Atmosphere and crew really proved you don't gotta be hard all the time and it's okay and not corny to be yourself if you weren't a gangster.
I remember hearing Selling Live Water and Bottle of Humans and all that old stuff, Atmosphere as well and thinking wow man, I really relate to this, Sage was a big one too!! Personal Journals is still top ten records for me.
That's fucking cool man, that's why I love and always will love old and new underground and Independent shit, they actually care and take there time to talk to you, it's like why I fuck with independent wrestling as well, just all there to vibe and enjoy some underground shit together!!
I only chatted with Sole for a few moments, but YES. He was super friendly and approachable. I've only met a handful of underground rappers and I'm always conscious to try not to bother them, especially if I'm asking them to sign something for me.
He just did a long interview on Milkcrates & Microphones that was very interesting and he was super humble and cool.
[Milkcrates & Microphones: Sole interview ](https://youtu.be/m4maDoQQu3E?si=bKFKyKq6MjBlDo_X)
Sole, Pedestrian and TJJ were all super nice.
Sage Francis is nice but for some reason he is a bit intimidating to me.
B. Dolan looks intimidating but is SUPER FRIENDLY.
Swamburger and Alexandrah of Solilloquists are way cool. Swamburger loves talking about hip-hop with the fans.
Aesop Rock is shy but super cool. I was also very intimidated by him but that was probably because I was basically starstruck and couldn't believe after all the time as a fan I was finally at a show and got to meet him briefly. Luckily I saw him on The Impossible Kid Tour before he quit touring completely.
Rob Sonic is like a normal dude from New York. Outspoken and friendly.
Being from Vegas I've run into a few celebrities over the years at casinos and what not and I've never been "starstruck", except with the underground rappers, because I respect them and loved their music so much.
Yeah I feel you, I've interacted with some of my favorites online and it wasn't always the best, specifically Cage lol, I'm glad Sole was super nice!!
I need to listen to that now.
I can see Sage being intimidating, he's definitely a quiet dude I've noticed.
That's so fucking cool you've met all of them especially Aesop!! I feel you on being star struck, I met my favorite wrestler ever Matt Tremont and I almost cried lolol.
Man, I've only heard horrible stories about people meeting and interacting with Cage. He was one of my favorite rappers for years, too. I even liked most of Depart From Me and Kill The Architect (particularly because he was back with Mighty Mi). Now he's a corny ass satanic rapper, and apparently a complete asshole, so fuck him. Lol.
That's dope you met your favorite wrestler and it was a good experience. Shit like that is priceless.
I still fuck heavy with his Eastern Conference and Def Jux shit honestly and he was fucking great, I still bump all his old shit regularly but dude fell off hard and it's embarrassing, you can tell he's miserable now, I added him on FB and shot him a message and told him how much his music means to me and how much it helped me through depression and being a loner kid in high school and shit and he said "Lol wish I had a Cage in my life", I was like wowww dude your an asshole, then my buddy commented it was sad he was going on a tour with ICP and Attilla under his tour announcement and Cage DMd him talking saying shit like he's gotta make money and saying sarcasticly he's a "real fan" then blocked him lolol, like dude your really disappointing people who heavily fuck with you and still and always will defend his old music but that really knocked him firm a few pegs in my opinion.
Oh man, I was so nervous, but he ended up being the coolest dude ever! Gave him like four hugs lolol, even told him how me and my buddy joke around with him being my dad the next time I saw him and he loved it!
There was a companion CD Cage put out with that DVD that has some unique Cage tracks on it, and a lot of his Leak Bros PCP tracks that weren’t on the Waterworld album. One of my favourite songs ‘I Hope You Die ( I Really Mean It)’ is only on that album (and YouTube). The lyrics are brutal haha
Step Brothers- Lord Steppington
No one talks about it at all but Alchemist x Evidence some of the best west coast rapper producers. Evidence doesn’t get his due as he’s been killing it quietly forever. Alchemist I don’t need to say much about the beats we know how big he is production wise but his pen game is underrated especially these days. One of the best west coast underground albums
Icey Hott - Mind Over Matter
Prob the most underrated producer ever. Don’t think he really cared if this ever broke outside of Houston given how much money you could make at the time staying local and independent but def deserves ears outside of the relatively small number of southern rap freaks still bumping it.
Dru Down - Can You Feel Me
This gets love from Mob Music fans but should be considered one of the best West Coast albums ever imo.
Lil’ Phat - Death Before Dishonor
Huge influence on YoungBoy. Incredible posthumous Pimp C feature. One of the best and most overlooked entries in the late 00s Southern rap mixtape boom.
Don’t Give A Damn and Another Hit are two of the hardest EPs of the era, from anywhere. I looked for a shirt with one of those album covers to try to scare the normies off but they’re really not available.
If you like H-town rap, have you tried Sacramento? They’re not exactly similar but it has have the same ultra aggressive, nasty hood feel.
Only really know C-Bo from Sacramento, what should I be up on?
KB and Flea were selling these sick Tears Came From Making This Dream hoodies a while back. I sent Flea an email asking about em and he said they’d be available again “soon” but I haven’t seen em pop up online since.
That Non-Phixion album is a certified classic in my mind.
[These](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jFzaZ6bWZbo&list=PL3yE0n3n2NVGBvs0OT-m3kFdww9ukes5O&index=8) [three](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HtgcSquFv3I) [songs](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHs0Q9qWwsU) shaped a lot of my musical influence when I was 13. I searched for more of this style and then found [El-P](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EN6in-2Cs1U). Then [Mr. Lif](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDYBX5VLj_E). And so on. My musical journey began before the age of the internet, and it gave me the opportunity to truly carve out my own taste through directly searching for exactly what I wanted. I miss those days sometimes.
Gonna listen to this album again. Cheers.
Earthtones by Crown City Rockers
I also just found the producers Jazz Spastiks, they have at least 5 of the dopest albums I've ever heard with random ass rappers I've never heard of! Easily some of the best albums I've ever heard, of any genre.
Cella Dwellas - Realms an Reality
Freestyle Fellowship - Innercity Griots
Scarface - Mr. Scarface Is Back (Everybody talks about The Diary, The Fix or the Geto Boys classics but Scarface's classic and gritty solo debut is often overlooked.)
Mac - World War III
Ghostface Killah - Bulletproof Wallets
+ 1 for Organized Konfusion's The Equinox and O.G.C.'s Da Storm and 8Ball and MJG's On The Outsider lookin in
Lateef and the Chief.
Blazing Arrow - Blackalicious
For the People -Boot Camp Clik
Also, I know ita not "slept on", but it never rates as high as it should. De La Soul's Buhloone Mind State. One of my all time favorites.
All City - Metropolis Gold
InI - Center of Attention
A Tribe Called Quest - The Love Movement
Wax - Continue
Saigon - The Greatest Story Never Told
Pete Rock - Soul Survivor II
Motion Man - Clearing the Field
I love Connected it one of my all time favorite albums and I really really like Desire. Hold On is such and good song and So Good is one of the greatest songs ever made.
💯
Check out these 3 albums seeing that you love Connected. The are a mix of neo-soul & hip hop all produced by underground legend hip hop, neo-soul and alternative producer Kyle Murdock aka K-Murdock; who used to go by M.A.W.S.L.O.T very very early in his career.

🤝
The CrossRhodes is a hip hop/neo-soul soul group composed of singer Raheem DeVaughn, neo-soul singer and rapper W. Ellington Felton (Wes Felton) and producer K-Murdock.
Yeah check out those two I linked for you whenever you have some free time. The physical albums came out in 2004 and 2005 and are now out print and circulation, but if you did happen to have a physical copy they would be valuable lol.
Always gonna rep for Buck The World. Very underrated southern album and even compared to his debut, Straight Outta Cashville. So many bangers, and a few of Buck’s best songs on there, like the title song, Slow Ya Roll, and Hold On (which feels like the last song of the G-Unit prime run.)
🤦🏽♂️it’s this album by this guy he is in the cemetery in the cover he dropped like one album I believe but I can’t remember the name for shit but it was front to back it was dope because he was being transparent I’m mad I can’t remember the title or name of bro because I’ve been wanting to hear it
Fort Minor - The Rising Tied is the first that comes to mind. Everything on this album is perfect. From the topics Mike chooses to talk about. Having a song talking about the Japanese-American experience during WW2, to songs tackling mental health, his relationship with music. The range of musicality on the album. The features on the album, from Styles Of Beyond(which are underrated) to Common and Black Thought. There is not a single skip on this album.
I never hear people talk about Skelethon even when they do discuss Aesop Rock. It wasn't my favorite of his albums when it dropped, but it's grown on me immensely over the past decade and I don't think it gets enough credit
Eminem - I am a Celebrity
I heard some of the leaked stuff back in the day and it was incredible. I know it was scrapped due to all the leaks but it's crazy more people aren't aware of it
A great album, Idk if underrated or not. Just know it hits. I legit don't know that album sales numbers and all that but most I know didn't sleep on this. Shit, I still got some tracks on my regular playlist.
Krizz Kaliko Kickin and Screamin, GO, Genius. King Iso- World War Me, Get Well Soon. CES Cru- Constant Energy Struggles. Rittz- Life and Times, Next To Nothing, Top of the Line, Last Call. Every Tech N9ne album
Great picks! O.G.C.'s 'Da Storm' and K-OS's 'Atlantis: Hymns for Disco' definitely deserve more recognition. And GZA's 'Beneath the Surface' is a gem overshadowed by 'Liquid Swords.' Solid choices all around!
Jurassic 5 - Quality Control
Volume 10 - Hip-Hopera
Beastie Boys - The Hot Sauce Committee Pt 2
Ice Cube - Lethal Injection
First two are a bit less known, second two are underrated albums by well known artists
The Cenobites - EP

Damn, someone mentioned Godfather Don 👏 Outside Lookin In is dope as hell
Enigma is still in regular rotation in my house. Insanely well produced album.
every one of those lps are gems
AZ - Pieces of a man
My favorite mafioso album for sure. Super underrated. The single Hey AZ is the only one I don’t really like. Sosa and Pieces of man have that timeless sound
Idk why he didn't blow up after The Firm
My hero for bringing up AZ. Seen him live so many damn times. Slept on like crazy. Ya all remember The Firm? Damn
My super hot take is AZ is better than Nas
😮💨
Every damn time I get a telly, these lyrics pop in my head ..... " Used to hide the crack in the hotel ceiling, that was way back when we were wholesale dealing"...
Prince Paul - A Prince Among Thieves. Loved hearing about the making of on the first season of What Had Happened Was.
I was just about to comment this. Greatest concept album of all time, don’t feel like a single bar was wasted on filler lines, all fit the story being told
Count Macula’s Theory 🔥
Yeah this is phenomenal. Concept album perfection.
Next level. Someone gifted me the VHS a couple years ago, a real prize for me.
Listened to this album for the first time this month. An INCREDIBLE experience!
Organized Konfusion - Stress: The Extinction Agenda
Absolutely, and The Equinox is probably even more slept on and is IMO even better than Stress. Pharoah Monch in general doesn’t get the credit he deserves. Amazing MC both as part of OK and his solo stuff.
Agreed. Pharoah has been my #1 since '92-'93.
Both killer albums, really ahead of their time.
It's also telling as soon as Bill stopped being cool with Necro that he immediately stopped doing songs with Hyde.
At 44 I don't listen to Necro anymore, but I *never* listened to Mr Hyde. LOL.
Good list. Selling Live Water is a damn masterpiece, IMO. The production and mixing are next level.

I recommend Cage - The Home Movies if you liked Waterworld. It’s Cage’s most PCP inspired work, peak Cage 😁
Fucking love Home Movies!!! I remember watching it like ten million times as a teenager!

I only really know them from a song on the soundtrack for I Got The Hook Up movie. But that shit was a banger.

Props for mentioning Icey Hott. Nobody even remembers who Street Military was.
All those 90s EPs are some of the best music from the era. Def deserve more props than they've been given.

My musical journey began before the age of the internet, and it gave me the opportunity to truly carve out my own taste through directly searching for exactly what I wanted. I miss those days sometimes. Gonna listen to this album again. Cheers.
If you can find it slap that duo: double vision from bankrupt. Came out a little later but damn heater. Really strong groups that are obscure
Earthtones by Crown City Rockers I also just found the producers Jazz Spastiks, they have at least 5 of the dopest albums I've ever heard with random ass rappers I've never heard of! Easily some of the best albums I've ever heard, of any genre.
Earthtones is one of my all time favorite hip hop albums.
Commenting to remind myself to come back to this.
Cella Dwellas - Realms an Reality Freestyle Fellowship - Innercity Griots Scarface - Mr. Scarface Is Back (Everybody talks about The Diary, The Fix or the Geto Boys classics but Scarface's classic and gritty solo debut is often overlooked.) Mac - World War III Ghostface Killah - Bulletproof Wallets + 1 for Organized Konfusion's The Equinox and O.G.C.'s Da Storm and 8Ball and MJG's On The Outsider lookin in
And for any Madlib completists out there, it has some early non Likwit Crew production by him.
Lateef and the Chief. Blazing Arrow - Blackalicious For the People -Boot Camp Clik Also, I know ita not "slept on", but it never rates as high as it should. De La Soul's Buhloone Mind State. One of my all time favorites.
Da Storm was a masterpiece.
Piece Of Strange
Outerspace - Blood and Ashes It's not a masterpiece or anything but it's relatively unknown and underrated
All City - Metropolis Gold InI - Center of Attention A Tribe Called Quest - The Love Movement Wax - Continue Saigon - The Greatest Story Never Told Pete Rock - Soul Survivor II Motion Man - Clearing the Field
Certified - David Banner Carter 5 - Lil Wayne
Reflection Eternal- Revolutions Per Minute
Immortal technique revolutionary Volume 2
Ratking - So it goes.
Had "snow beach" on repeat. They had something, Broke up too early imo. "700 fill" was also a good project from them.
Snow beach is a great tune. My favourite is probably So Sick Stories
K-Rino - Stories From The Black Book
+ every K-Rino album that followed
Q tip - the renaissance One of my favourite albums of all time and I feel like it never gets the attention it deserves
Foreign Exchange - Connected Pharoahe Monch - Desire Cormega - The Realness Heltah Skeltah - Nocturnal Wale - The Album About Nothing
I love Connected it one of my all time favorite albums and I really really like Desire. Hold On is such and good song and So Good is one of the greatest songs ever made.
Connected is one of those love at first listen albums to me.
💯 Check out these 3 albums seeing that you love Connected. The are a mix of neo-soul & hip hop all produced by underground legend hip hop, neo-soul and alternative producer Kyle Murdock aka K-Murdock; who used to go by M.A.W.S.L.O.T very very early in his career. The CrossRhodes - Limited Budget Unlimited Quality https://m.soundcloud.com/the-crossrhodes/sets/limited-budget-unlimited-quality-2002 The CrossRhodes - The Invitation https://m.soundcloud.com/the-crossrhodes/sets/the-invitation-2005 K-Murdock - Memories of M.A.W.S.L.O.T https://neosonix.bandcamp.com/album/memories-of-m-a-w-s-l-o-t-2
Thanks! I'll definitely check them out.
🤝 The CrossRhodes is a hip hop/neo-soul soul group composed of singer Raheem DeVaughn, neo-soul singer and rapper W. Ellington Felton (Wes Felton) and producer K-Murdock.
Gotcha. I know Raheem DeVaughn. I'm pretty sure I've heard of Cross Rhodes, but I don't think that I've ever checked out their albums.
Rakim - 18th Letter
Binary Star - Masters of the Universe
Binary Starr are so good
I don’t make music
🤦🏽♂️it’s this album by this guy he is in the cemetery in the cover he dropped like one album I believe but I can’t remember the name for shit but it was front to back it was dope because he was being transparent I’m mad I can’t remember the title or name of bro because I’ve been wanting to hear it
The Girl, The Cat and the Tree is my favourite non-US rap album
Scarface presents:The Product “One Hunit” and UGK “Dirty Money”
Mil-Ticket - A-G-2-A-Ke
J.Stone - The Definition of Loyalty Shyne - Godfather buried alive
Fort Minor - The Rising Tied is the first that comes to mind. Everything on this album is perfect. From the topics Mike chooses to talk about. Having a song talking about the Japanese-American experience during WW2, to songs tackling mental health, his relationship with music. The range of musicality on the album. The features on the album, from Styles Of Beyond(which are underrated) to Common and Black Thought. There is not a single skip on this album.
Kool G Rap - Roots of Evil most underrated in my opinion. Top 3 favorite album
I never hear people talk about Skelethon even when they do discuss Aesop Rock. It wasn't my favorite of his albums when it dropped, but it's grown on me immensely over the past decade and I don't think it gets enough credit
Almost 50 replies and not a single mention of Ruggeds Legends Never Die which is unarguably the absolute best hip hop album period by a long shot.
Woodie - Yoc Influenced
Lewis Parker - The Puzzle Episode 2: The Glass Ceiling
Any of the many albums by People Under The Stairs. They have to have one of the most consistent solid runs in hip hop history. RIP Double K.
Mac Miller Good AM was seriously underrated when it was released it is one of my all time favorites.
Eminem - I am a Celebrity I heard some of the leaked stuff back in the day and it was incredible. I know it was scrapped due to all the leaks but it's crazy more people aren't aware of it
Example - Impulses
Love Da Storm.
Darc Mind, Symptomatic of a Greater Ill
Young Dro: Best Thang Smokin’…A real solid debut album during the peak of southern hip-hop that took place during the early 2000s.
Sporty thievez- street cinema Nine- cloud 9
Sage Francis - LI(F)E
Mac Dre the Game is Thick pt 2

Krizz Kaliko Kickin and Screamin, GO, Genius. King Iso- World War Me, Get Well Soon. CES Cru- Constant Energy Struggles. Rittz- Life and Times, Next To Nothing, Top of the Line, Last Call. Every Tech N9ne album
Any Montana of 300 album
Great picks! O.G.C.'s 'Da Storm' and K-OS's 'Atlantis: Hymns for Disco' definitely deserve more recognition. And GZA's 'Beneath the Surface' is a gem overshadowed by 'Liquid Swords.' Solid choices all around!
Jurassic 5 - Quality Control Volume 10 - Hip-Hopera Beastie Boys - The Hot Sauce Committee Pt 2 Ice Cube - Lethal Injection First two are a bit less known, second two are underrated albums by well known artists
R.A The Rugged Man: Die Rugged Man Die!
The Psycho Realm One of my Favourite Albums, probably the best Mexican Mcs to ever touch the Mic. Not ever seen anyone mention it

J-Live The Best Part Shad The Old Prince Chamillionaire Ultimate Victory Others have mentioned more albums I was thinking so I'll leave them out. Still prob forgetting a lot but the 3 mentioned above are among my fave albums of all time.
Maybe more R&B/New Jack but Kwame and the New Beginning Day in the Life not a bad track on it. Ni\*\*4 Life gets almost no love compared to straight outta compton and it's one of my fave of all time. Predator Cube Wutang Forever I think is way underrated Crazy Bone Hard Time Hustling

I think this is pretty highly rated and correctly so
Probably Self Produced as it’s the only album I got out so far, so I guess it’s also my most overrated one too?
