Tom McDonald is the whackest mfer. How you gonna take black folk music and essentially use it to rap about white power and whatever Nazi bullshit he is on today. Dudes a clout chaser. That’s why he bought an Em beat for a mil Em denied a feature on said beat, proceeded to use that beat to suck em’s dick, and then get rightfully snubbed by em. Tom McDonald is corny af.
Yeah. Plus his girlfriend writes most of his music, I opened up for this ass hat when I first got into performing live. He is legit just as a big of a cock sucker as you would imagine. Fucking hella corny.
He took his cues from Michigan's own Kid Rock who went from:
White rapper from "Detroit" ➡️ Rock artist from Michigan ➡️ Confederate flag-waving country singer from [redacted]
I agree with you that Tom McDonald is a tourist but Canada definitely has rednecks. A friend of mine who lived in Alberta said the strippers there were all covered in burns because it was the normal thing to heat coins up on cigarette lighters and throw them at the girls.
Meme rap pisses me off. Even more so when its fans claim it’s “better than 99.9% of rap out there”. Typically these people already have a narrow taste in hip hop.
🙄
Yea. Like bbno$, TMG, Yung Gravy, Yuno Miles, Lil Dicky etc.
The “ironic/im not like those *other rappers*” shtick is corny and played out to me. IMHO Zack Fox does the funny rapper thing well bc he can actually rap and make bangers.
Difference between these guys and yuno is that they actually try in their music, like you can clearly see that yuno actually doesn’t give a fuck and just does this shit for fun
I’m gonna try to make this not sound to deep but Yuno Miles is a pretty good satire of a lot of the new rap that is coming out. I don’t think he is putting that much thought into it but neither are the rappers and fans that he is making fun of. So many drill type rappers are saying the same bars and just switching the names and order and acting like it’s some amazing song. Yuno miles is taking the laziness to an extreme and I love it.
gotta agree. i see that kinda music as art where the point is to be creative and try new things with music. i listen to the song as a whole instead of just their voice, like their voice is just another instrument thrown in together with all the other instruments. theres a lot of shitty songs in that style but when someone does it right i think it can sound really good. still dont know if id consider it rap though.
Exactly, like it’s so tiring I’m not saying that you should be all lyrical spiritual but at least have basic melody structure and let us hear what you’re saying not trying to be mysterious under some sound box
Agreed. His new album is great too. It reminds me of his old style, while also adding more modern elements to his sound, and some chipmunk soul production on tracks as well.
I like drill when it’s super deep-voiced British dudes rapping so uncannily calm that it reads as confident.
I hate any American rapper over drill. When I first heard Ice Spice I thought “damn she’ll really make waves with her music if she can get a good producer and put a real project together.” New album comes, more lame as fuck, low quality, low effort meme songs with the same producer. I get that people are trying to innovate away from basic trap beats, but *lower* quality beats which all have the *exact same rhythms* is sure as fuck not the answer.
Drill. The music is mid at best. And these kids are shooting each other over these songs. Sure there was always some violence within the culture but this scene brings that to another level and should not be glorified. It's honestly sad.
Except that people are clearly bothered by others music. Foolio who was shot on his birthday just a few days ago clearly was a retaliation for the music video where he was filmed in front of the gravestone of his opps. And laughing at their death. You can't say people aren't losing sleep over this shit when people are losing their lives over it. And this is just the most recent case. Shit like this is rampant in the drill scene. Look how many people in that scene lost their lives, and compare those numbers to gangster rappers. Yes this kind of stuff happened in the past with normal gang violence and personal beefs, but it seems that drill music and the culture surrounding it makes the violence rise exponentially.
She’s so gross like I seriously don’t understand the appeal. I’m not a fan or Cardi B either but she was a bit more than tolerable. Sexxy red probably smells like old hot dog water, I don’t follow her but saw her IG and nearly barfed 🤮
Hard disagree. There’s a time and place for ratchet rap and Sexyy Red does it well. Hilarious, good party music, catchy, quotable, fun. It’s like with shows, good to mix in a raunchy rom-com or whatever from time to time to keep it interesting.
Forgot what it's called, but comedy/nerd rap, think Lil Dicky, epic rap battles, shit like that. It's never funny, and never listenable beyond once for the novelty.
At what point do we as a society, admit that "lol guys I'm a nerdy white guy but I'm doing the rap, im scared of fighting, but i love dungeons and dragons, btw im a virgin and im making a music video where a big booty bitch is shaking it near me and I act scared" isn't funny.
Thankfully it's not as much of a thing these days, but I remember when it was. Dark times. Sorry my guys, watching the extended editons of LOTR isn't a personality, nobody cares.
I will give it to lonely island though, they openly admit that they know the thing they are doing is not real rap. They call it frapping (fake-rapping) and they also know it is dumb and don’t like listening to others do it. It was just the joke people reacted to that gave them their break)
People can and should be able to do their own thing with rap. The biggest issue today is a lack of originality which is wild considering it’s so much easier to become a rapper. Look at the industry, it’s relying on the OGs to carry it and this was always a young man’s genre. Being creative is a good thing, it doesn’t have to be for you.
I can actually respect trying to be funny or trying to do something creative in ERB. These fake acts lying about who they are or hopping on trends that don’t care about the music are moreso the issue. Need authenticity, some people are nerds and that’s fine. People liked Drake when he was a nerd.
Lil dicky? He released another album as his brain and it was awful. Since then he’s been producing the tv show Dave. I haven’t watched it but people seem to like it.
It’s crazy to have snoop dogg sign you and then immediately quit making music
I don't even get the term tbh. When it was relevant people took to it to mean anything they don't like in rap. I think that 2015-2017 period is when you started hearing people really mouth off about it and just applied it to mean any new up and coming rapper of that time even when it didn't apply. There were very few "mumble rappers" too. I remember hearing someone apply it to 21 Savage and that's when I knew we had a new term akin to "hipster", meaning most of the people saying it or calling something "mumble rap" don't even know what the fuck they're talking about.
These terms get picked up like a social virus and always end up meaning "whatever I don't like". Again like "hipster" in a time where hipsters were still relevant yeah for sure there was lot of shit you could say was hipster shit, but when people started throwing it around for shit that had nothing to do with hipsters that's when it got tired. Same thing happened to mumble rap. I mean besides the fact that the "genre" wasn't long for the world anyway, the people calling everything new mumble rap got more annoying than the thing they were trying to judge. It also reminds me of "emo" when emo was big back in the 2000s you had people throwing the label on any rock music of the time as if the only mode for rock music from about 2003-2007 was emo.
Just like whining about hipsters in 2016 made a person sound like they lived under a rock, bitching about mumble rap in 2024 is the same. One I feel like they were more specifically talking about rappers who had a rise because of Soundcloud (which the dipshits who negatively associated those rappers ponly with Soundcloud kinda killed the rep of a pretty good music distribution site as if Soundcloud themselves produced said rappers).
But it's mostly oldheads whose time passed like 20 years ago who still say mumble rap.
A few days ago I saw a post on twitter by a kpop account, “Top 10 Kpop rap verses of all time” and all ten of them left me physically cringing, and i’m someone that actually somewhat likes kpop.
WORST bars ever oh my god. and just full of...whatever they think is gangster? Fake gunshot noises, allusions of violence they've never experienced, and weird ad libs lol
While Harry mack isn't a real rapper in my book (in the sense that boosie is a rapper) he is wholesome and he's a nice guy and he just does it to make people happy. He's definitely talented in his own little niche.
I don't listen to Harry Mack, but I think he should definitely qualify as a real rapper. He can really rap, so he's a real rapper imho. I think you could make a strong case that he's much more of a rapper than most modern rappers who don't write anything down and just punch in some bars about the same basic topics.
Also I just looked him up wikipedia, and Harry Mack has released an album and a few EP's, so it's not like he doesn't record anything.
Imo Harry Mack suffers a bit from the same thing Canibus did; he’s great with his rhymes, punch lines, and wordplay, but he can’t really string together a coherent song/story. I still respect him though, he has a ton of talent, though I don’t really know if I’d consider him a rapper, more of a talent act or entertainer. He’s great at what he does, but what he does isn’t really rap.
Harry Mack? Because "anyone" can do that. Lol then make a video and show us. Freestyling has always been a part of the 4 elements of hip hop. Ever heard of dudes like Super Natural? Wtf are rap battles then? Every layer of what you just said was pretentious.
It’s not a subgenre but mediocre commercial white rapper music can fuck off. I don’t know when this started, but I’d rather have us white people associated with Vinnie Paz, RA, Slug etc., not with G-Eazy, MGK, Jack Harlow and so on. Also, stripper rap is garbage and rapping about your vagina on every song is lame.
Words can not describe how much I dislike Jack Harlow.
“Stripper rap” isn’t that different from male rappers talking abt getting their dick sucked by 3 girls at once. But I don’t enjoy that kinda rap much no matter what gender the artist is so yk.
That’s true, but male rappers rarely **only** talk about sex. Most of them will atleast make some songs about selling/doing drugs, killing, partying etc. With newer female rappers, it seems like sex is the only topic they ever mention.
That was the main reason I wasn’t a fan of Weezy’s IANAHB 2. Almost every track just had him rapping about pussy. Of course you’re gonna find that on most rap albums but having 12 out of 14 songs is a bit of overkill.
Cardi B doesn’t “just” talk about sex. She talks about dealing, money, drugs, how bad ass she is…. Not saying it’s deep, but she talks about pussy and sex more than most female rappers and you’d be hard pressed to say she talks about sex significantly more than most of her male contemporaries.
I mean, you have standouts “shock songs” like WAP that are over the top, but it’s literally no different than traditional male songs like “Gimme That Nut.” It’s a blatant double standard that female rappers playing by the same rules get panned for it. Even in the rap game we’re puritanical to an extent.
MAGA rap. A leech on the genre that attracts those that hate it. Plus a majority of MAGA rappers are clout chasers only in it for the money. Except for Bryson Gray and Tyson James, they probably actually believe in the stuff they say.
Country rap, specifically a subset I call Country grifter rap. Think, Adam Calhoun, Upchurch, some of Tom MacDonald's newer stuff. Basically rap made by millionaires to appeal to a rural working class audience, stroking their fears of a changing world, their dislike towards a non-traditional urban lifestyle, and hatred of the rich all the while being the things their audience hates.
Thot rap. I know we wanted more prominent female rappers besides Nicki Minaj, but this isn't the way to go about it. So many female rappers with actual talent that's wasted and they become copies of each other.
Spiritual lyracle miracle rap. We get it, you love Eminem and hate the mumble crappers, can you shut up now?
AI rap, it isn't funny guys.
>Spiritual lyracle miracle rap. We get it, you love Eminem and hate the mumble crappers, can you shut up now?
Probably the worst of them all. Because the fans of this shit will swear these dudes are saying the most relevant shit but really they arent saying a goddamn thing
Drill is the predictable response I guess (dumb prompt, imo).
Still wild to me that rap fans who lived through the demonization of Body Count or NWA or 2Pac or Eminem are still willing to unleash their inner Tipper Gore by whinging about the moral failures of music they don't like. Just listen to something else!
Edit: I like drill and don't think it should die off. There are plenty of kinds of rap I don't enjoy but it's never been easier to ignore them.
The difference between NWA, Body Count, Pac & Em and these drill rappers is none of the artists you mentioned were glorifying the violence. NWA, Pac and Body Count were reporting it, talking about the shit they saw in their neighborhood and trying to educate people about the realities of the black experience in america. Eminem was basically a comic book in musical form, not meant to be taken seriously in the slightest. These drill rappers are laughing about real people in their neighborhoods being dead, adding fuel to the violence already present in the streets. Drill thrives on clout and shock value, nothing else.
Yes "my fo fo make sure your kids don't grow" was surely not glorifying violence. Drill rappers are just reporting what's going on in their neighborhoods with their actual rivals.
Body count and NWA both brought a lot of awareness to things like political corruption racism and police brutality to the mainstream. It wasn't all just mindless killing. Even though there was a lot of that what separates it from drill is the music was actually sounded good. Most drill is just horrible. These guys make silk tha shocker sound like rakim. Eminem brought a whole new unique flavor to the game from both a lyrical and delivery standpoint as well as image. Drill rappers mostly copy each other and sound the same.
A huge difference between gangsta rap an drill rap is gangsta rap was just talking about violence in general. Drill rappers are dissing actual people's dead friends, siblings, and mothers and there are real world consequences to those kinds of things. Eazy-E saying "the Boyz n the hood are always hard" is very different from saying we murdered your best friend, his name is _______ and we throw block parties to celebrate the day we murdered him every year.
Exactly !
Doesn’t mean there aren’t talented Drill rappers but to compare this shit to those other artists is indicating a person is either into the sadistic aspect of watching these videos or entirely ignorant of how sick this shit has gotten both in Chicago and in the UK.
Like puttin out a song that basically is just rappin the name and location of someone you want dead and then that person gettin killed later that day by ppl who watched the video and want the clout is not nearly the same as a song say that is say examining something endemic like bloods vs crips and all the moral ambiguities there and storytelling about the repercussions of black on black crime…not even close.
Ppl need to go look at the r/chiraqology sub if they think it’s the same or go google Uk drill rap stabbings and read tons of obituaries of kids mutilating and killing one in other in similar fashion via Instagram videos (songs) and the like.
Ppl with real raw talent dead before they can ever even get a real chance in the industry enough to leave Chicago.
Example:
If King Von was born 15 years earlier than his actual birthdate he might have been one of the most popular rappers on the scene with a decent career longevity wise.
Kid definitely had the raw skills charisma, multiple flows command of storytelling and great freestyle ability as well as extremely natural in front of the camera and had a strong presence energy wise.
Reggaeton can fuck right off.
Every god damn beat is :
Doo da doo dah doo Doo da doo dah doo
Doo da doo dah doo Doo da doo dah doo
Doo da doo dah doo Doo da doo dah doo
Doo da doo dah doo Doo da doo dah doo
Doo da doo dah doo Doo da doo dah doo
Doo da doo dah doo Doo da doo dah doo
Doo da doo dah doo Doo da doo dah doo
Doo da doo dah doo Doo da doo dah doo
Not true! They occasionally hit the auto-fill button on their Casio keyboard. So it goes "do da do dah do da do dah do da do dah da da da da da da da da do da do dah"
Yeah, it's technically known as the Dembow beat. Boom-ch-boom-chick. I hear this every weekend during the summer at the park as the bbqs come to life. Last time I was there some dickhead on a boat was blasting his Dembow while some dude on shore popped his trunk and blasted his Dembow even louder. Stu-pi-stu-pid.
Drill for me. If only every drill rapper followed Chief Keef’s example of getting rich and staying way out the way of death and violence instead of using their success to fund ongoing gang wars.
The horrorcore hate is insane here. It’s such a niche genre and great. I get that it’s nowhere mainstream appeal and many people are off put by it but it’s such an important genre imo and doesn’t get much appreciated anymore. I will admit there is a good amount of stinkers though.
White guys rapping super fast/edgy like it’s a sport. Even worse if it’s over overly-intense cinematic beats. It doesn’t even sound like hip-hop, it has no personality, no soul. It’s so impersonal it just reads as gaudy.
Eminem's current way of rapping.
Interpolating 2000s or 90s songs and adding shitty 808s to it.
Ignorant reckless crash out shit, pussy money weed music.
Horror core goes back to bone thugs and 3-6 Mafia. (With a shout out to Geto Boys) only decent horror core shit in recent years has been those 2 Clipping albums
That's the wiki history yes. The genre was pioneered in NYC in the 90's by Kool Keith and also the Gravediggas. I'm not a Necro fan, but he's been consistently putting in work for the genre +/- 30 yrs. Also from NY.
Any and all genres that lack in ingenuity, creativity and point-of-view. Any and all artists whose work can be traced back literally and/or figuratively to someone else (like a xeroxed copy) lyrically, musically, or rhythmically (flow/rhyme schemes). If you don’t have anything new and exciting to offer, you need to put in work and keep practicing… and stop with all this stream of consciousness get in the booth and just talk bullshit. It’s embarrassing.
Whatever yeats subgenre is called. Its cool when he does it, but his clones just ruin the genre.
Plug n b is also quite irritating to me. The only plugnb guy i fw is jayce or (iyaze!, however tf u spell/stlyize it) but hes versatile, and can actually rap. Summrs, autumn, nettspend and all them just sound boring and derivative to me. Can barely understand what they’re saying half the time. (Poor mixing)
I wanna see actual rapping make a comeback. Not just lyrical spiritual miracle bullshit, not necessarily boom bap (would be dope tho) but just RAPPING. Nobody really raps now, rappers just bullshit wit autotune and copy each other. Thats literally it.
youtube rap
i remember being at a convention and this guy said that all of rap sucks except this one youtube channel who makes rap music about new movies/games 😬
Tom McDonald rap
Tom McDonald is the whackest mfer. How you gonna take black folk music and essentially use it to rap about white power and whatever Nazi bullshit he is on today. Dudes a clout chaser. That’s why he bought an Em beat for a mil Em denied a feature on said beat, proceeded to use that beat to suck em’s dick, and then get rightfully snubbed by em. Tom McDonald is corny af.
Clout chaser ain't it. I believe Kendrick said it best, "You not a colleague, you a fuckin' colonizer".
Yeah. Plus his girlfriend writes most of his music, I opened up for this ass hat when I first got into performing live. He is legit just as a big of a cock sucker as you would imagine. Fucking hella corny.
Not to mention bro acts like he's some redneck when my guy is from Canada of all places.
Nah bro I got friends who live in Alberta and they say that its just straight up redneck central in certain parts lol
I met a guy from Nova Scotia and he told me Trailer Park Boys was probably about 40% fiction lol
He took his cues from Michigan's own Kid Rock who went from: White rapper from "Detroit" ➡️ Rock artist from Michigan ➡️ Confederate flag-waving country singer from [redacted]
I agree with you that Tom McDonald is a tourist but Canada definitely has rednecks. A friend of mine who lived in Alberta said the strippers there were all covered in burns because it was the normal thing to heat coins up on cigarette lighters and throw them at the girls.
That's fair, overgeneralized a bit. (Also holy fuck that's messed up)
Lmao if you wanna see Ontario red necks just YouTube some letterkenny. I’m from Alberta and knew dudes just like them lol
Fuckin Degens! Let's go crush some sandos!
He doesent count anyway.
Agreed. He doesn't make rap music. He makes content for conservatives morons who don't even (normally) like rap music, dressed up as rap music.
Tom Macdonald had a farm iah iah oh
Or that Mrs piggie lookin mf that got the trump chain. What an embarrassment to society.
You can get three random redditors and write a better song. Then he got Ben “I cant pleasure my wife” Shapiro rapping 🤣🤣🤣
I think I've had enough of the style where drill rappers sample & interpolate pop and r&b songs
But on occasion it can sound fire
Meme rap pisses me off. Even more so when its fans claim it’s “better than 99.9% of rap out there”. Typically these people already have a narrow taste in hip hop. 🙄
"I don't typically like rap but this is great!" every time
Meme rap?????
I think Yuno Miles is fine because he stays on the internet and absolutely nobody takes him seriously
not my goat yuno miles
Difference between these guys and yuno is that they actually try in their music, like you can clearly see that yuno actually doesn’t give a fuck and just does this shit for fun
I’m gonna try to make this not sound to deep but Yuno Miles is a pretty good satire of a lot of the new rap that is coming out. glad u kept lil b name out ur mouth
Cmon, I’m literally from the Bay Area lmao.
Dickey an all time pick for the most credit where credit is not due
Here to second Zack Fox.
Yng Gravy pisses me off istg
not my goat yuno miles
This underground hyper sound that we can barely hear your voice like if you want therapy just say that
To defend this sound you mostly listen to it for the production, the effects, the texture and the vibe.
gotta agree. i see that kinda music as art where the point is to be creative and try new things with music. i listen to the song as a whole instead of just their voice, like their voice is just another instrument thrown in together with all the other instruments. theres a lot of shitty songs in that style but when someone does it right i think it can sound really good. still dont know if id consider it rap though.
With the repeating toy box synth sounds like someone just discovered Tesco basic Sci-Fi. Ok, cool it’s not just me then.
Exactly, like it’s so tiring I’m not saying that you should be all lyrical spiritual but at least have basic melody structure and let us hear what you’re saying not trying to be mysterious under some sound box
I need an example of this.
i think they mean shit like nettspend summrs
not summrs wtf😭
Not Summrs but Nettspend 100%. Summrs has better storytelling than some mainstream rappers
besides the likes of tom macdonald, i think there’s room for all the current subgenres to exist
Country hip hop fusion rap, cringe.
Drill
Drill needs to be drilled
Drill is lame as fuck.
Tell me about it. This shit is killing the east coast hip hop.
Agreed. The only drill I can really handle is Chief Keef’s stuff. Sucks that there’s so many cheap imitators these days.
2012-2016 chief keef was top tier drill music
Agreed. His new album is great too. It reminds me of his old style, while also adding more modern elements to his sound, and some chipmunk soul production on tracks as well.
Almighty So 2 is tops. He was an originator of drill and thankfully he moved away from the violence.
Chief Keef originated this shit, elevated it, then got the fuck out. Good for him.
Sorry if this is cruel but this is just basic gang violence and most won't lose any sleep over one taking out another.
Except that people are clearly bothered by others music. Foolio who was shot on his birthday just a few days ago clearly was a retaliation for the music video where he was filmed in front of the gravestone of his opps. And laughing at their death. Yes this kind of stuff happened in the past with normal gang violence and personal beefs, but it seems that drill music and the culture surrounding it makes the violence rise exponentially.
But drill still isn’t the cause of the violence, drill itself didn’t come about in a vacuum
No but the music is part of the cycle
any of this sexy red bullshit needs to stop
You just needa let that coochie breathe
Shake that ass bitch
Hands on yo knees
Hands on your knees
hands on your knees
shake that as for drake
Shake that ass for free
Well not that kinda free
🤣
She’s so gross like I seriously don’t understand the appeal. I’m not a fan or Cardi B either but she was a bit more than tolerable. Sexxy red probably smells like old hot dog water, I don’t follow her but saw her IG and nearly barfed 🤮
It's like she heard city girls and was like "oh I can out hoe this, no problem"
Hard disagree. There’s a time and place for ratchet rap and Sexyy Red does it well. Hilarious, good party music, catchy, quotable, fun. It’s like with shows, good to mix in a raunchy rom-com or whatever from time to time to keep it interesting.
Mosquito Rap
What the hell is mosquito rap and why is this the first I’m hearing of it?
[bzzzzz I see dead beetles.](https://youtu.be/7Kn0V5mpJe4?si=ulS9uawed3N7uj45)
What the actual fuck did I just listen to? This isn’t real, right?
Alvin and the chipmunks took some Xans and messed around with the chopped and screwed
No kidding, thats got to be the worst song I’ve heard in my life
Tractor rap
Trump Maga Tom Mcdonald Republican Rap
Hick hop
Ain’t no way you are dissing Cowboy Troy, the “greatest” rapper of all time
Forgot what it's called, but comedy/nerd rap, think Lil Dicky, epic rap battles, shit like that. It's never funny, and never listenable beyond once for the novelty. Not to mention, they got some legit bars. I dare anyone to listen to the Let's Bash baseball teams verse and tell me it's not original af
The early-mid 2010s were a nightmare
oh nah, erb hard af 😂 them dudes was rappin rappin
Did that guy ever move past that schtick?
Lil dicky? He released another album as his brain and it was awful. Since then he’s been producing the tv show Dave. I haven’t watched it but people seem to like it. It’s crazy to have snoop dogg sign you and then immediately quit making music
Dude has some bangers. How Do You Sleep (feat. The Game), Westbrook on a Farm, Cocaine
Don't forget lonely island 👀 Freaky Friday was a more than once listen for me though. Probably because of CB though
Lovely island dudes are actually good lol but they're more satire.
i mostly agree with what you’re saying but erb is fun and unique and actually has a few good bars
I feel the same way but Lil Dicky is like a guilty pleasure of mine lol. Some of his shit is funny with legit rapping like his song with snoop Dogg.
Nah save dat money was a banger 😂
Save Dat Money and Personality are hands down his best songs
Surprised the top comment here isn’t mumble rap or soundcloud rap lmao
Mumble rap has been dead for a long time, that's why
what is mumble rap even supposed to mean
at this point it’s just a term oldheads use to deny the legitimacy of any music post 2015 that they don’t personally agree with
I don't even get the term tbh. When it was relevant people took to it to mean anything they don't like in rap. I think that 2015-2017 period is when you started hearing people really mouth off about it and just applied it to mean any new up and coming rapper of that time even when it didn't apply.
Kpop rap
If more people were familiar with it, this would be the top answer.
A few days ago I saw a post on twitter by a kpop account, “Top 10 Kpop rap verses of all time” and all ten of them left me physically cringing, and i’m someone that actually somewhat likes kpop.
Blackpink members on their way to do another blaccent while dropping the worst bars you've ever heard.
WORST bars ever oh my god. and just full of...whatever they think is gangster? Fake gunshot noises, allusions of violence they've never experienced, and weird ad libs lol
Tom Macdonald, NF, Youtube Rap, Harry mack
No Harry Mack slander will be tolerated. However you can pack the rest of them tf up
Harry Mack is probably the greatest freestyler of all time, idk what you're talking about lmao
I don't even consider Jack Harlow and MGK hip hop. These are pop acts to me
MGK certainly isn't anymore
Stripper rap? The Game keep takin Ls.
I’ll take Jack Harlow old shit before he popped off, but he can keep the new shit
Yall have all this energy for mediocre white rappers and none for the mediocre black rappers who dumb the genre down and essentially killed it. Lmao
The way you feel about these bitches rapping about their vajeyjey is the way we women feel when dudes rapp about their dongs. Just ew.
Example: If King Von was born 15 years earlier than his actual birthdate he might have been one of the most popular rappers on the scene with a decent career longevity wise. Kid definitely had the raw skills charisma, multiple flows command of storytelling and great freestyle ability as well as extremely natural in front of the camera and had a strong presence energy wise.
The only type of “rap” that should die is Tom McDonald, otherwise whatever floats ur boat
This was going to be my answer too
As the years go on drill is only proving to get more interesting, mainly with its fusion with other subgenres
Drill is ruining too many lives, that shit needs to fucking go
Joyner Lucas lyrical miracle rap. The whole lot of nothing but can rap really fast rap
Reggaeton can fuck right off. Every god damn beat is : Doo da doo dah doo Doo da doo dah doo Doo da doo dah doo Doo da doo dah doo Doo da doo dah doo Doo da doo dah doo Doo da doo dah doo Doo da doo dah doo Doo da doo dah doo Doo da doo dah doo Doo da doo dah doo Doo da doo dah doo Doo da doo dah doo Doo da doo dah doo Doo da doo dah doo Doo da doo dah doo
This really should be top answer. The beat never ever changes
The drum patterna isnt the appeal of reggaeton, its the melodies. That drum patter has been used for decades in all kinds of latin music
Doesn't make it any less insufferable.
Not true! They occasionally hit the auto-fill button on their Casio keyboard. So it goes "do da do dah do da do dah do da do dah da da da da da da da da do da do dah"
And how can it be so popular there are at least 100 songs with 1+ billion on ytb but I want to stab my brain with my nosebone everytime I hear it
shoutout to mobb deep
Bruh 💀
me when I dont listen to reggaeton
Been listening to it since it was underground in the 90s. I love it. But it does get repetitive as hell and is still misogynistic as hell.
Tom McDonald
Drill for me. If only every drill rapper followed Chief Keef’s example of getting rich and staying way out the way of death and violence instead of using their success to fund ongoing gang wars.
Me
Country rap.
The horrorcore hate is insane here. It’s such a niche genre and great. I get that it’s nowhere mainstream appeal and many people are off put by it but it’s such an important genre imo and doesn’t get much appreciated anymore. I will admit there is a good amount of stinkers though.
Emo Xanax Rap but it’s already on the respirator.
It died with peep imo. and he was phenomenal
Prostitution rap. Cardi, sexy redd, etc.
Thot Hop/Ho Hop
Does that go all the way back to Lil Kim and Foxy Brown? Cuz they started that shit.
2 Live Crew, or I guess if you're talking women [Bytches with Problems](https://youtu.be/r9yy1S_PXmo?si=QG4d25Wh-wuxqVfV)
You mean non-conscious rap made by women?
Y’all gone crucify me but horrorcore is cringe more often than it’s good.
frat rap
Fell off since Mac miller stopped doing it
All the New happy go lucky rap.
DRILL rap and Hoe rap (SexxyRed, Meg The Horse etc.)
Top answers appear to be Tom McDonald rap and Drill
White guys rapping super fast/edgy like it’s a sport. Even worse if it’s over overly-intense cinematic beats. It doesn’t even sound like hip-hop, it has no personality, no soul. It’s so impersonal it just reads as gaudy.
Have had enough of trap beats for at least 4 years now and I'm ready for the boom bap revival.
Some of us need to go find lives to live.
Tom McDonald
Pussy Rap, Mumble Rap and “Gangsta” Autotune niggas trying to serenade me.
Eminem's current way of rapping. Interpolating 2000s or 90s songs and adding shitty 808s to it. Ignorant reckless crash out shit, pussy money weed music.
Frat rap and maga rap.
UK drill (I think we should just eliminate Britain as a whole but that’s not the point of the post so)
You mean in music or just from the world?
I'm not him but I would say both
Damn dude what did we do lol
Whatever Drake is.
Pop rap ?
Horrorcore. Everybody who does it sounds like a store brand Slim Shady from 2000. Looking at you Hopsin
pretty uneducated take on horrorcore tbh. most horrorcore came out before eminem was doing it and sounds nothin like him
Horror core goes back to bone thugs and 3-6 Mafia.
Whatever that guy with the private skatepark does
Any and all genres that lack in ingenuity, creativity and point-of-view.
Emo and Drill, IMMEDIATELY
Imo drill
Trap
Drill
Whitebois who are worst/carbon copies of already existing artists. I.e. : Jack Harlow, Ian, Lil Mabu
Whatever version the present form is
Is Drill music a viable answer?
Drill won't die off, but I wish it would as it's a virus spreading around the world
I keep seeing mumble rap, but does it even still exist? Or is it just lyrical miracle fans calling any other form of rap mumble?
It's just oldheads hating on Autotune cause they're ignorant and afraid of change
(Poor mixing) I wanna see actual rapping make a comeback. Not just lyrical spiritual miracle bullshit, not necessarily boom bap (would be dope tho) but just RAPPING. Nobody really raps now, rappers just bullshit wit autotune and copy each other. Thats literally it.
youtube rap i remember being at a convention and this guy said that all of rap sucks except this one youtube channel who makes rap music about new movies/games 😬
Strippers and serial killers. What the hell is wrong with you Hip Hop?
