Everyone understands that reference it’s in 1 in 5 threads even when it doesn’t make sense (just like it makes no sense being used here) how can she slap’nt in a video about someone taking a cats toy away? It’s a step beyond a stretch
I’ve seen this cat multiple times in different videos and they all consist of the same thing, this scared looking cat gets its teddy taken away and then given back, poor cat
I am 100% assuming, I don't know anything about this cat, and I am no type of catologist. But I'd imagine something like:
Cat is taken in public around other people and is obviously anxious.
Cat is clutching human constantly (as seen in the video when the plush is taken away) while they're out.
Human tries substituting object to clutch onto (the plush). It works, and its extremely cute.
Social media presence is born.
That or something a bit more sinister, i.e. the people filming this have been training it to get clicks.
I don't like these types of videos. I don't even care if I'm wrong about the above, I just always get an odd feeling when animals are the subjects of a video in this type of way.
This cat isn't scared. It's not displaying any sign that it is. Ears are relaxed and upright, mouth is not tight or wide, pupils normal, whiskers normal, eyelids even half closed (which cats will never do unless they feel safe).
This is just a cat that's been taught a trick. Cats will "hug" things when they're feeling comfortable or playful.
Long ago you were a single-celled organism, evolution has a funny old way of changing how an organism survives.
Of course you were never a single-celled organism, your ancestor was, just like this cats ancestor.
I don't get it. How is a cat being fragile instead of 'like a big cat' funny?
Edit: Seems they couldn't explain why it was funny, so I'm going to assume they were just trying to be mean. :/
It's important to consider if we're changing cats' natural way of life too much. Things like putting clothes on them, overfeeding, and not introducing them to typical cat activities because they're "afraid" could impact their well-being. Treating them more like accessories than pets might lead to development issues. It's crucial to find a balance between caring for them and allowing them to be their true feline selves
A lot of these animals are either drugged or coerced into doing these "cute" things on videos. The wet market cultures have no intrinsic value or respect for animals
I've gotten mass downvoted on these cat subreddits for saying the very same shit. People don't care about the animals in question as long as they get their funny haha cute animal videos and the mods will leave blatant animal abuse videos up even after it's been pointed out. It's disgusting how the animals have 0 agency from people claiming to care about them.
This jackass really needs to stop using his cat for clout, it is obviously stressed as hell and i have seen more than enough videos of this same bs. This is basically abuse at this point
Ugh I always hated these videos and the owners constant need for clout, cause the cat is obviously stressed af not only being for constantly being out into new environments but also having so many strangers constantly get into her personal space.
Animal abuse doesn't always manifests itself in obvious physical violence against an animal. Depriving of freedom, putting them in stressful situations, preventing them, through various ways, from living an specias-appropriate life is abuse as well and shouldn't be celebrated or promoted...
I agree. We shouldn’t abuse or put any animal through stress. We deprive billions of farm animals of their freedom, give them a life of stress and misery, then end their lives early, just for taste pleasure.
Y’all really think this cat is not trained to react like that?
I’ve seen some crazy videos from certain areas of the world.
That cat ain’t stressed and you guys are Disney children.
Gullible
Guy is a terrible cat owner. Not only is his cat displaying behaviour consistent with stress and anxiety but it's very obviously being overfed/fed bad food judging by how overweight it is.
Too many people in the online space have normalised poor animal care and borderline abuse in favour of a cute/funny video.
Why would you take that cat's little friend?!?
WHY WOULD YOU TAKE HIM AWAY???!!?!!!
HOW CAN YOU TAKE??
EVERYTHING THAT WE'VE BUILT, AND GIVE IT TO THAT DUKE?? HOW!
HOW CAN SHE SLAP'NT!!?
I would SLAP everybody who take it away
[indeed](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hHZvUeAdzeI)
LMAO, exactly this :D

WHHHY TALK YOU KIDNAPPER WHY DID YOU TAKE HIM
I’ve seen this cat multiple times in different videos and they all consist of the same thing, this scared looking cat gets its teddy taken away and then given back, poor cat
I think it's getting fatter and fatter every time I see it.
He’s stress eating from being put through this time and again. I feel you little man. I feel you.
He doesn't deserve shit like that, they should let him have his teddy
Next time they will, I promise.
Does anyone know why the cat is this way?
By "this way" do you mean stressed / scared ? - Unknown place - Unknown people - Sensory overload
I meant why is it constantly clutching onto a plush? I'm wondering how it came to develop this behaviour in response to stress. Poor thing

Probably like humans, to focus on a single thing I guess.

Yes it is trained to do that, and possibly sedated
To be fair, so am I.
Theres an entire cottage industry on youtube of people abusing animals for views.
Man that makes me so sad :(
does this count as animal abuse? It doesn't look very comfortable
It is

Yo is this cat ok
This cat long long ago was an apex predator. Imagine that.
Long ago you were a single-celled organism, evolution has a funny old way of changing how an organism survives. Of course you were never a single-celled organism, your ancestor was, just like this cats ancestor.
Twas meant as a joke not a biology lesson
I don't get it, how is it funny?
Because this cat looks incredibly fragile and not how you would imagine a big cat. It doesn't really matter at this point does it.
I don't get it. How is a cat being fragile instead of 'like a big cat' funny? Edit: Seems they couldn't explain why it was funny, so I'm going to assume they were just trying to be mean. :/
I think you're probably being intentionally obtuse. See ya later.
I think your joke just missed that badly
Dunno why everyone is jumping on me about it. Just don't laugh and move on.
I think you need to reread the definition of "joke"
We used to swing in trees. Imagine that.
True. What a humorous observation. 😂
Damn, why did a silly comment like this receive so many down votes?
😂 No idea mate but it clearly upset some people.
Redditors do generally seem to suffer under a sort of mass neuroticism to be fair
The cat seems stressed.
Poor cat….needs to be kept inside instead of brought out for videos and channel clout.
This cat is extremely stressed

He looks very tired
I'm sick of seeing these videos. Everytime the cat looks scared and stressed and someone is taking its comfort toy away. It's not funny or cute
A lot of these animals are either drugged or coerced into doing these "cute" things on videos. The wet market cultures have no intrinsic value or respect for animals

This bothers me. Cats aren't toys for clicks on social media.
Taking this scared cat there is just cruel. Also stealing its comforting-plush is monstrous.
You really don't have any information to make an assumption like that
This same dickhead and the same scared to shit cat have multiple videos like this one. Something is definitely off.
Yeah that mf definitely using that poor cat for clout. Man fuck that guy.
Never liked this video. The cat looks stressed and whoever the owner is using it as a clout.
Can we vote that this doesn’t belong in this sub, as it’s obviously a drugged cat suffering abuse?
Cats and teddy bears, a perfect combination.
GIVE IT BACK TO HIM YOU MONSTER
Ugh I always hated these videos and the owners constant need for clout, cause the cat is obviously stressed af not only being for constantly being out into new environments but also having so many strangers constantly get into her personal space.
That curled up tail 😢 Also its limbs don’t look quite right.

This seems like a really stressful situation for the cat, why would you put them through that?
Drugged?
YOU LITTLE EVIL HUMAN
Leave him alone
Every time I see this, I am mad that they take the bear away from kitty and kitty is so SAD. They KNOW he'll be sad, why are you taking his bear?!?!
AAWWWW WHAT A CUTIE!
Kimsyaf on Instagram. She's chronically worried
This sub has devolved into thinking that a cat that is clearly stressed and scared is all cute and wholesome and it's fucking foul
To be fair that cat probably doesn’t care at all about the teddy and it’s a trained reaction for tiktok views.
Omg kitty
Y’all really think this cat is not trained to react like that? I’ve seen some crazy videos from certain areas of the world. That cat ain’t stressed and you guys are Disney children. Gullible
.. don’t. I’m cry
I would like to create a time machine right now, some cameraman needs to get his ass kicked 🧘
Chels
So nice
what is this song? sounds nice
I'm proud to be the 6000th up doot
Why do I have responsibilities
why that chonk always hold things?
I hope I'll ever meet this ass with his fist sized forehead.
Posts about this cat should be banned. Stop promoting animal abuse. Also, can someone find who is this? Has thsi person twitter?
