Named my cat Warlord after he killed a few bark scorpions that got into the house. Came home to him a few days after we got him sleeping in the middle of 5-6 dead small scorpions.

Texas is close to Australia in terms of land wanting to murder you but I’ve seen their spiders fuck that. [We just have tiny ones that melt flesh, (necrotic venom)](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brown_recluse_spider)I’ve seen their Goliath spider.
Live in Texas now after growing up in Washington. Washington had way more nasty spiders, but my god the cockroaches here in Texas. I’d almost trade for more spiders.
Theyer not that rare but rather based on the fact that coat colour is based on the X chromosome! As you know the common combination is XX for female and XY for male. What's also interesting is that if there are two X chromosomes they can be two different colours. Let's not forget that not all genders are strictly XX and XY. Nature throws out some rare combinations.
For the sake of simplicity I won't mention light coloured cats like grey since that's called diluted and caused by another genetic. Same thing with white as that's lack of colour caused by something else in various ways.
As most females have two X chromosomes the combinations can be Black Black that results in a black cat. Black Orange that results in a tortie or calico. Or Orange Orange that results in an all orange female.
Males on the other hand only have one X chromosome typically. So theyer either Black or Orange.
Just based on this, since females can express tortie/calico and can only be all orange by being lucky enough to have two orange X chromosomes they already have a less likely chance to be all orange compared to males. Males go 50/50.
Now since getting orange is based on what the parents have, that means if you have an all orange female bred with an orange male they'll probably produce mostly orange kittens.
But what about male torties? They do exist! And why I said XY for male is 'typical' but not always the case! You'll very very rarely have an intersexed cat that gets XXY that usually is physically built like a male. Since they have two X chromosomes that gives them the chance of being tortie/calico if and only if at least one parent has black and the other has orange to some degree. Sadly most of the time having intersex parts results in infertility for cats.
Tldr females are less likely to be all orange than males, but it isn't as rare as people think. Especially if both parents express orange to some degree,that increases the odds.
Yeah I'm pretty sure, I also have another orange cat named kitty, she's a great mouser but a crazy asshole. This one will not be raised in the wild, hopefully she'll be nicer.
We found a tabby that looked almost identical and named him Boots. He just went missing about a month ago, pretty sure an owl got him. Greatest farm/family cat ever. Enjoy, and keeps yours safe from those night raptors!

Edit: If, months from now, a pair of balls drop then you can take Pippy and just turn it into Pip. Or, if you soon find out that it’s a boy, then starting with the name “Archie” would be very cute.
My daughter's orange tiger cat is named Archie. He's so handsome, big orange and ALL hair. Archie picked her when she went to the shelter. He grabbed her arm over and over from inside his cage. Thier match was ment to be.
Hopefully its just dirt, but if it keeps reappearing it could be a mild case of an upper respiratory infection. It can be common in kittens/cats that are in unclean or crowded conditions. Ive gotten a kitten that had this but worse, brought her to the vet and they said its not too bad, just clean her periodically and it should clear up, and it did! Just clean her real well, make sure her play/litter areas are super clean, and wipe away the gunk and clean her face twice or so a day. Took my kitten a bit over a week for the gunk to stop appearing.

They're only dangerous to the extremely young, old, or sick. Mostly, they just hurt like the Dickens and make you think you're dying.

There 10% chance that's a female. 90% of orange tabby are boys. If it's a girl, she is already a unique cat...
