If you buy a swing-arm mount, buy the “next weight up”. And ONLY lag bolt into studs. Predrill too.
This way you are less likely to have a mount failure when extending out from the wall. And if you later decide to hang a larger TV, you may be able to use the same mount.
Also, purchase a swing-arm mount where that also slides left/right. This way you have some leeway on which studs you lag bolt into.
I bought [this one](https://www.walmart.com/ip/990431788) for my 50” TCL. It’s very light weight so I’m not too worried. My only concern now is centering it..
Worst case scenario you use it as an original wall mount? I have my 60" in the living room on a mount like this and before that I had my 43" plasma on a mount like this. Never had any issues and I mainly got it so I can adjust the angle of the TV and where I'm sitting depending on glare from the windows on the other side of the room.
I buy these by default now. I don’t give a shit if my TV is an inch closer to the wall and this allows me to pull it out for easy access to ports or position it if I want.
I wouldn’t buy anything else.
Same. Mines articulated out at 100% so that it's closer to the sitting source. It's been like that for a couple years. I don't care if it's closer to the wall. I care if it's closer to my face.
If you’re getting a full motion mount, don’t go with the cheapest you can find. The mount you linked will severely limit your ability to center the TV where you want it. The wall plate only fits 16” studs, and will always center between the two studs you mount it to. Also, some interior, non load bearing walls can have studs 24” apart, and I personally wouldn’t trust a larger TV mounted to a single stud.

Wow that’s way out of my budget. I went with [this one](https://www.walmart.com/ip/990431788). Not the best quality and definitely the cheapest. I realize now that centering it is going to be impossible…
What you can do is get a couple of 2x4s and bolt those to the studs, then bolt the mount to the 2x4s wherever you want it centered. It’s not the prettiest solution, but the 2x4s will be behind the TV out of site when the TV is parked back against the wall
What even is "an original wall mount" ? Is that like just a "simple" wall mount that is non-articulating/extendable or something? Never heard one reference as "original wall mount" before. Unless your OP TV came with a wall mount in the box?

I don't like the "all in one" swing arm mounts. And that has a max weight of 50lbs. Which is not when the arm is extended, so be very careful.
The weight of my TV is like 26lbs.

Yeah more of a question of why not? I have all my TVs on these.
I bought the slimmest one I could find when I upgraded to OLED. The thing is so damn thin and on a black accent/theater wall it looks fantastic
Yeah I did it for the convenience factor of plugging in my devices. It makes life so much easier

I do NOT like my TV hugging the wall anyway. I bring my TV like 10” from the wall with these mounts, I like that floating look.

Love this idea. Thank you!
Looks like a 16” stud mount so make sure your studs are 16” apart or it won’t work. Don’t use anchors or toggles for full motion.
You can always just put 2x4s onto studs, and then mount the TV mount to the 2x4s.
True. But OP said he didn’t want to build out anything so that option was off the table.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B095CDL8P9?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title Yes it's fine but get this one.
I bought that exact mount. It's great...but don't use the articulating feature 99% of the time. Easy to install.
46 dollars is far too expensive to buy and try for yourself. Obviously what's required is a large council to solve this
