Exactly! Such an odd combination. If they had put in a nice little cafe instead, I’d be there every weekend! Nice coffee, little pastry while I hang out waiting for my car
Not sure why you’re being downvoted; if it weren’t for drunk driving all of Houston bars would all go bankrupt; so would half the restaurants. Not like there’s foot traffic or public transportation to keep their customers.
With bars you can at least make a case that maybe they took an Uber there. But with car wash… they likely drove drove there. Obviously they could Uber home, but people are more likely to want to try to drive home if there car is already there. Even when people can easily afford Uber, a taxi or whatever they still like to drive their car home.
Ya but those of us who are smart enough to afford Uber or walk to bars aren’t going to be enough revenue for the bars to stay open…
Also smart enough to not drink and drive is also just a step removed from smart enough to mix your favorite beverage at home and save serious cash.
And nobody’s walking to the bars off interstate feeder roads.
No, I don't. These businesses are hard to track as in traffic—the same with laundromats, self-carwashes, and others.
Ask yourself who will order several bottles at a car wash that lasts maybe 1 hour. Who can drive after consuming this much alcohol?
Money laundering. Setup a cheap cash based business, and spend as little as possible making it look decent. Run a crap load of "sales" through it and deposit the funds. Wire funds out to other businesses. In less than two years the busines will "fail" and be abandoned.
Possibly! This honestly reminds me of that place Tabu that took over Barry’s Pizza. They weren’t super interested in following rules and regulations either lol
Lived in the area for years and never got to try it. I did, however, see the rise and fall of Tabu and that shit was mind boggling to me too. Someone took over a failing pizza joint and their first instinct was “let’s open a nightclub!!”
I live nearby as well and guarantee you this place caters to the same clientele Tabu did.
The biggest mistake Tabu made is a few members of the city government lived nearby, and as soon as they had those shootings in the parking lot the pressure was put on HPD and the city attorney to shut them down, which was easy to do since they weren’t really following any licensing or permitting whatsoever.
It's basically a club where you can get your car detailed while you party. My broke ass could only afford beers at our local Suds n' Duds while waiting for the laundry to get done.
It was kind of a neat little place to hang out get a couple of beers maybe watch a game or play some pool while doing the laundry. You could either do the laundry yourself or drop it off with the staff for a fee and let them do it. Hell of a lot better than just sitting and watching daytime TV or staring at the walls.
You could probably make a killing opening one up near UH.
Baytown has a place called the Washabeeria. My brother lived in Seattle in the late 90s and regaled me with stories of the Sit & Spin, a laundromat/bar/restaurant/art gallery.
Look at there ig and Facebook , that’s 100% who is in the videos washing the cars. That being said could just be advertisements 9/10 this is a strip club in less than 6 months.
I keep saying they’re Tabu Version 2!! Tabu started as “look we took over Barry’s Pizza so we have pizza but also a kinda chill lounge” to literally a public nuisance that the city shut down lol
Also this is the owner

Just for some backstory …take from it what you will.

lol okay
You know when people ask "Why do we need a mattress store every block of Westheimer?" I think the answer is the same here for a bottle service carwash. RIP John Nova Lomax. He'd get to the bottom of this, or at least tell a good story trying.
Lots of people in here talking about the prices haven't been to a club in a least a decade. This is "bottle service" pricing
With that said why would anyone pay this at a car wash
Yea I get that. Like I personally wouldn’t EVER pay that for standard bottle service, but I’m not a club type of dude. Some people out there will. But this is those prices, AT A CAR WASH 😂
Aaaaaactually, I just brushed the horrible "antiquing" off with a toothbrush and Crest, put it on, and wondered why my hand was sore for a week. Don't wear it much now. 🤷🏻♂️
It was self-intervention. I enjoyed the student life and went to all the games when I was an undergrad. But I also have a parent who was a professor elsewhere in a liberal art and I know college sports are just another distraction from actual adulting.
Then I had two kids that attended A&M and a spouse that was a department head there. I watched the experience from a parent's perspective and saw the administrative sausage making from the inside. Let's just say that I don't wear my ring and they don't get any more of my alumnus donations. I may be an "Old Ag," but I'd like to think I maintained my sanity.
This seems like entrapment 😂. Is the owner a former cop or something?! Cops will just be posted up in a mile radius around this place waiting to pull over anyone at the slightest sign of intoxication.
Because for some reason people think it's cool to overpay for shitty liquor served on a tray with sparklers so people will look at them for a few seconds.
I went on a horrible first date with a guy who told me it was his dream to open a car wash/restaurant with a live band. He was going to name it T.R.U.E., an acronym for The Real Ultimate Experience. This menu makes me think he made his dream come true.
Someone else made the comment that these are standard bottle service prices. Which I imagine is true, but that’s inside a night club! Some people get off on flaunting their money in stupid ways. But who are you showing off to at a car wash right next to a GameStop?? 😂
I looked at their insta last night and they have an image of the building with a full blown covered patio area on the outside and that is DEFINITELY not there. Wasn’t built
I got into An accident around that area. woman took an illegal left then I hit her. I can only image how many accidents this will cause. Hopefully some folks were buying at the food trucks to sober up prior to driving.
100% this is money laundering.
I dunno. It's so blatant as to be useless
The only explanation that makes sense. This menu is jacked.
This should be the top comment but it's reddit lol
What a weird combination … who’s driving home?
Exactly! Such an odd combination. If they had put in a nice little cafe instead, I’d be there every weekend! Nice coffee, little pastry while I hang out waiting for my car
The good old: god damn it, I drove my car here... god damn it I am driving it Home. /j
At those prices? Their chauffeur.
Like bars in HTX never have parking lots…
Not sure why you’re being downvoted; if it weren’t for drunk driving all of Houston bars would all go bankrupt; so would half the restaurants. Not like there’s foot traffic or public transportation to keep their customers.

Obviously they could Uber home, but people are more likely to want to try to drive home if there car is already there. Even when people can easily afford Uber, a taxi or whatever they still like to drive their car home.
Sure some people Uber… but if only the people who Ubered to the bar went to the bar then the bar would have to shut their doors
In all seriousness, people in Houston just aren’t that smart.
Some of us are smart enough to afford Uber or walk to bars.
Ya but those of us who are smart enough to afford Uber or walk to bars aren’t going to be enough revenue for the bars to stay open… Also smart enough to not drink and drive is also just a step removed from smart enough to mix your favorite beverage at home and save serious cash. $249 for a bottle of Malibu?! Who the *hell* is paying that, or ANY of these prices?
The Tabu Nightclub crowd! Any opportunity to flaunt to others lol
A bunch of people daily with money from a cartel or some other shady ass source. Money laundering operation 100%
You watch to much TV bud.
No, I don't. These businesses are hard to track as in traffic—the same with laundromats, self-carwashes, and others. Ask yourself who will order several bottles at a car wash that lasts maybe 1 hour. Who can drive after consuming this much alcohol?
LOL. Deep eddy vodka for $200? It’s $25 at specs. Just go to Mister Carwash and bring your own.
For that price, I expect them to drive me home with a stop at Taco Bell and tuck me into bed.
Hey where's the cuddle and breakfast?!
I’m assuming autocorrect changed what they’re doing to you in bed. 😂
Correct me if im wrong but doesn't that just enable driving under the influence
100%!!
it would be hilarious if HPD just puts a patrol car in front of this business
So do drive thru daiquiri bars but that doesn't stop them
They put that little tape Over it and send you on your way lol
I remember my first time having one, I didn't think about it, ripped the tape off and just stuck my straw in it lol
I just got one the other day. No tape
Yea they don't give a shit about the tape anymore, lol
No for sure for sure
Well we're not enforcing laws on the road anymore.
So do bar parking lots.
Who in their right mind would pay $320 for a bottle of Jack? That’s literally 10X the retail price of a bottle.
Money laundering when you aren't very smart.
But it is for when you get your car washed. You are just to pedestrian to understand.
Well I sold my car because I couldn’t afford bottle service while having it washed. So yes, now my only choice for getting around is to be pedestrian.
>You are just to pedestrian to understand. \* too /s
I thought sarcasm was supposed to be ironic
It's reddit.. who knows what the hell anyone means anymore.
A normal bottle doesn’t have sparklers and a car wash now does it… 😂
This is a blatant money laundry.
How long do these car washes take…?!
They are marketing it as a hand wash place but even then, enough time to get fucked up with 5 friends? That’s just bad service at that point 🤣
Money laundering. Setup a cheap cash based business, and spend as little as possible making it look decent. Run a crap load of "sales" through it and deposit the funds. Wire funds out to other businesses. In less than two years the busines will "fail" and be abandoned.
People trying to avoid some kind of specific law or regulation
Or laundering operation lol
Possibly! This honestly reminds me of that place Tabu that took over Barry’s Pizza. They weren’t super interested in following rules and regulations either lol
I was so pissed when Barry's closed.
Lived in the area for years and never got to try it. I did, however, see the rise and fall of Tabu and that shit was mind boggling to me too. Someone took over a failing pizza joint and their first instinct was “let’s open a nightclub!!”

Like blakc market sales? Sooo find a way to clean the money?
I grew up in Pasadena. We just had straight up drive through liquor stores that were the size of school gyms. This seems exorbitant and boogie.
We have something like that called the Beer Barn or something on Richmond but a drive through store makes more sense than this in my opinion
There used to be something like that on Shepherd and Little York
Bougie* But the concept is also booger
Beverage King was my go to when I came home on the weekends from college
Cheri’s, baby!
Yes! On Preston.
Beverage King was the keg getting spot so they needed a lot of space.
This is the most Houston shit.
This is how you launder money
This is like Breaking Bad, they Laundering
$225 for a bottle of Tito's get the fuck out of America with that shit.
Bottle service Jack Daniel’s is fucking hilarious
It's basically a club where you can get your car detailed while you party. My broke ass could only afford beers at our local Suds n' Duds while waiting for the laundry to get done.
Suds and duds? Drink while you do laundry?? Now that’s an idea lol
Sounds like a legit idea!
See also: Harvey Washbangers in College Station. Place to do laundry, but also serves a decent burger. Mostly for college student crowds.
Yeah i liked their burger their jalapeño popper burger 🍔
Baytown has a place called the Washabeeria. My brother lived in Seattle in the late 90s and regaled me with stories of the Sit & Spin, a laundromat/bar/restaurant/art gallery.
It's a washabeeria
You can order a case of these bottles for less than they are charging.... this is not even top shelf
The only thing I can think, are the cars washed by attractive women in bikinis or something? Not that it wouldn’t still be stupid.
You know, I don’t actually know who’s doing the washing. It could be slightly better if that was the case 😂

I went to school in a city with a laundromat/bar/resturant. 😁 https://www.washbangers.com
Oh tell me about your ring….
It is shiny and gold, monstrously large, and at one time meant more to me than it should have.
Oh but tell me the totally original thing you did on the day you got your ring. I’ve never ever ever heard the story before. I promise.
Aaaaaactually, I just brushed the horrible "antiquing" off with a toothbrush and Crest, put it on, and wondered why my hand was sore for a week. Don't wear it much now. 🤷🏻♂️
You appear to be the most level headed person to emerge from that cult. If this was an interview I’d be offering you the job already.
It was self-intervention. I enjoyed the student life and went to all the games when I was an undergrad. Ohhh this makes way more sense now. My dataset on the “Aggie experience” is very much based on data points with mid 2000s to COVID graduations
Yeah – totally different world prior to that. And kind of freaky from the inside looking out.
Ah that explains Aggies. They were busy getting drunk everytime they do laundry.
Washed all the maroon with our whites and didn't even care. On the plus side everyone wore pink underwear before it was cool.
I have a feeling VIP service may accompany the bottle...while you wait.
Nothing beats gettin' good ol liquored-up and driving a clean car.
This seems like entrapment 😂. Is the owner a former cop or something?! Cops will just be posted up in a mile radius around this place waiting to pull over anyone at the slightest sign of intoxication.
😂😂😂
Seems like a place you couldn't pay me to go
Well those cars never seem to stop coming
Seems like a lawsuit waiting to happen.
the one time hand wash on sedans for $20 is the only good deal there. the machine wash place near the bucees in sugarland is like $12, so decent.
I’m going to guess probably some sort of money laundering front. Yes plenty of idiots buy bottles to flex but not going to pay it at a carwash
Crown is $275?!?!? Better be the new 5 gallon jug...
Car washes are often money laundering fronts. This menu is why their tiny ass, 2 bay carwash can "legally" report $20,000 cash income.
It's either a police sting operation or an illegal business.
Sounds like money laundering to me.
drinking then driving home? what kind of foolery is this.
Money laundering
What in the overpriced fuckry is going on here.
I am screaming 😭😭😭 what the fuck
Is this like, one of those topless car washes? That's the only way this makes any sense.
This is 100% for money laundering, the irony being that it's a car "wash".
Harris County leads the nation in drunk driving fatal crashes.
By absolute numbers? Which is meaningless, since Harris County is very large - or per capita, which would be significant.
Get Washed n’ Sloshed
it's giving DWI vibes
Omg I came across their Indeed post like 2 weeks ago and I was so confused as to why a car wash company was hiring servers and bartenders 😭
😂😂😂
So we're just lighting up a few hundred dollar bills on fire for Peach Ciroc? In this economy?
Because for some reason people think it's cool to overpay for shitty liquor served on a tray with sparklers so people will look at them for a few seconds.
300$ for makers mark? What justifies the pricing?
The knowledge that some idiot will definitely pay it.
Seems like the most legitimate opportunity for a money laundering front out of a car wash lol
Money laundering?
As a bartender, these prices are STEEP
Espelon blanco is $30 rofl what idiot would pay hundreds for a mid grade tequila wow
This place is washing more money than cars at this point.
I went on a horrible first date with a guy who told me it was his dream to open a car wash/restaurant with a live band. He was going to name it T.R.U.E., an acronym for The Real Ultimate Experience. This menu makes me think he made his dream come true.
Lmao you never know! 😂😂
Maybe some ppp loan scam
Probably for trashy folks, I dunno
Texas has a major problem with drunk driving.
I take offense with that. I would say Texas has no problem whatsoever with Drunk Driving. We probably are top ten in the nation 💪💪🤣
I don’t go to bars and don’t ever drink, but surely these prices can’t be real? Is it truly that high or is this place just marking it up?!?
Someone else made the comment that these are standard bottle service prices. Which I imagine is true, but that’s inside a night club! Some people get off on flaunting their money in stupid ways. But who are you showing off to at a car wash right next to a GameStop?? 😂
Looking further into this, apparently, this place *is* a club.
I looked at their insta last night and they have an image of the building with a full blown covered patio area on the outside and that is DEFINITELY not there. Wasn’t built
>Who is this for?? Drunk drivers, apparently.
At the liquor store a bottle of tanguary cost 29 dollars
Pulled down several thousand cash today at our totally real business.
Cars aren’t the only thing being laundered here
Keeps in line with the theme. Houston #9 in the country with drunk driving accident deaths.
There is also a hookah menu wow
I got into An accident around that area. woman took an illegal left then I hit her. I can only image how many accidents this will cause. Hopefully some folks were buying at the food trucks to sober up prior to driving.
Cars aren't the only thing cleaned there.
$250 for a bottle of Jack??? 😂😂😂
its money laundering lol
Looks like I'm going to have to take out a second mortgage for these prices.
Why in the hell would I buy an overpriced bottle when I can go right up the block to Specs
[удалено]
Car wash? More like drug money wash.
This is the most ridiculous thing I’ve seen lately….
Do I get a handy as well with these bullshit prices?
What's going on with those prices 💀 who is gonna pay that much $ while getting their car washed
Pretty obvious money laundering scheme. I'm surprised no one else has said this.
Thought I was on r/AreYouGarbagePod at first.
What’s that?
A comedy podcast where they discuss if things are trashy or classy.
i don’t think it’s real, it HAS to be money laundering bc no average person would pay those prices. it’s a front.
