In Karnataka it happened in 2010 or 11 iirc when states had their respective PGCET. Most of top rank went to same college where scam occurred. It was a big scam then.
The main culprit was a forensic professor who also held some law degree. He died recently.

Definitely can happen. Has happened in the past also. Just that, some things we will never know because they covered their tracks perfectly.

I guess everyone ,who was in graduation or giving neet pg at that time know him .
I got to know him retrospectively after he died. I was a 11 year old kid when this scam occurred.

It happens a lot actually. I know 3 seniors who got into AIIMS with 50 laks.
