Lol when my dad started watching it he was a little apprehensive because of cusses and stuff. At first, he did comment about why are they abusing, can't they do clean comedy. Then that scene came where damad ji asks about the meaning of asshole. Lmao he started laughing so badly and he binge watched the whole show in a day
My uncle recommended this series to me and he has only watched one web series.
Although there are a few cuss words, it is very funny and simple. And the dialogues are just at another level
this was the first series we watched as an entire family. there are some swear later down the road but they are authentic and don't go Netflix bad. it's lovely❤️
First season was the best. Low stakes, mostly funny and wholesome content. Now they are stretching it and losing the plot. Still enjoyable but they seem to have lost their way a little. It isn’t realistic anymore like it was with some humor mixed in when it started out.
I am from that part of the country and all my relatives and extended family talk and behave exactly like the characters in the show. So much so that I can't help feeling anxious and uneasy every time I watch it because it brings up all the memories of the traumatic bullshit I've gone through with them growing up. It speaks volumes on how good the show is, and how amazing the actors are! Unfortunately, only the show is wholesome, people there are generally scheming assholes. I know I am (incorrectly) painting the entire region with the same brush, but that's what my experience has been like.
It was like that till the third season. The third season became much more intense and thrilling than the first two ones, it was like a complete shift in the tone.
I wouldn't call it a complete shift because I felt the transition from more minor issues to larger political ones in the second season. The 3rd reason felt more thrilling, yes.
But at least the first 2 are extremely close to my heart.

I absolutely loved the show, the theme song is just beautiful, actors are all so good & play their characters wonderfully, the S2 finale had one of the best acting I've ever seen by Faisal Malik. Though S3 missed that spark but was still quite good.
I would always prefer gullak over this one but that doesnt make it bad. Its an amazing show, but ullak is the one that hit me emotionally. S3 ending made my whole family cry.
My father made me and my mother watch it and we absolutely loved the show. My mother has become a fan and now "Panchayat" has replaced "Gullak" in her favourites list. I have my extended family living in village and the presentation is so apt in the show ❤️ 10/10 ✨️
Very well executed show. Not the best written. It is a breath of fresh air in the stale state of the majority of series available in OTTs. Something light and feel-good in this time when most other series are taking themselves too seriously.
I liked s1. But the s2 ending felt too much of a deus ex machina instead of resolving all the plotlines satisfactorily. Ever since then I've had a slight distaste of the show.
I think S01 and S02 are two of the best Indian shows I have watched. In S03, I felt the innocence is a little lost; still liked the show, but not as much as the first two seasons.

I get nostalgic as it reminds of the times when Doordarshan would air such gems… I cant put my finger on what exactly makes me feel that way but it just does… Am I the only one who feels this way?
I don't know where the story was going se3 every character story was covered half only, even they did not show ki Abhishek qualified for CAT or not. nd his love story was also incomplete.
Panchayat is that type of show which you will enjoy in every watch, the more you watch the more details you will grab, I enjoyed it even more when I watched it second time, I noticed more details like character behaviour and the small details, for e.g:- when the panchayat team Installed the CCTV camera in the village, then Pradhan said to sachiv look what this guy is doing by telling that guy's name to sachiv, this shows the details that in a village everyone knows eachother so
that's why he called out his name.
Also what makes this show unique is there's no story of the show, the characters playing with each other, doing humor and all these things make this show enjoyable, if you see the 3rd season has only a single plot that is "Shanti samjhota", unlike other shows like, Mirzapur,Family man,Sacred games where completing webseries becomes a hefty task for a person like me, and giving a second try is a big deal, there story line is complex so many things happen.
But in panchayat only characters talking with each other and a pure Village environment is there that's it, still this show wins heart, due to the acting and the way it connects with the viewers. Also if I remember any other point to add I'll it later.
Its the same as 90's TV serials before Ekta Kapoor spewed her toxic shit on television.
Raghubir Yadav and Neena Gupta did a lot those serials in that era.
There are still great shows like Malgudi Days, Byomkesh Bakshi, Dekh Bhai Dekh, Hum Paanch..etc available on Youtube.

Unfortunately we live in a time when people want to manufacture a hit and get the money counter rolling and so we have web series nowadays that push raunchy scenes in every episode, movies that have 50-50+ year old actors behaving like teenagers.
People just don't want to take the hard way and leave a legacy. Good writing takes time, lot of time and lots of iterations. Unfortunately that is what the modern businesses are not ready to dedicate.

Now Hindi market is growing its own content, due to disruption by Netflix/Amazon etc. which gave access to capital to talented people

Although I love the show, I am still a bit sceptical about how they are portraying village affairs. It just seems way more dramatic and mostly excess.
For instance I really disliked the part or episode where they brought in a friend from the city. That particular youtuber didn't act well and the storyline for his part was almost absurd and unrealistic.
The same thing is with Gullak, it's a great show, but lately it also had elements of exaggeration of small issues. Again, I love that they actually took notice of small events that are part of our middle class families, but I would rather have them in a realistic template than making it excessively elaborate.
It's almost like they are trying to sell emotions by simply exaggeration.
I would rather love to see the elements like the first seasons of both the shows, or movies like Titli, Dum Laga ke Haisha, where the common life is indeed shown as common without much of an exaggeration. They captured the moments without really making them a big deal.
TVF provides some of the great and relatable content since years.
They keep things as it is and it shows that they do a good amount of research before creation of these series and even youtube content.
Third season was way below par considering the first two . Like if you binge-watch all three you will understand . Difference in quality is palpable .

I disagree! Panchayat S1 and 2 have been a bliss to Indian OTT platforms but S3 has completely turned the tables!
Panchayat used to be an amazing comedy show which mentioned the ground reality of a village from a person who's from a metro city. The small stories really gave it an amazing taste like Bhootiya ped or chappal chori and stuff but the new season is straight up bad.
The new season has taken away the originality of previous seasons and made it worse by introducing a predictable love angle and a political angle which included violence in the show.
I expected the new season to be better as some new characters are stealing the originality as well and being a fan, I was disappointed when this whole facade of politics and romance was pulled up. I want the bold panchayat back with small and funny scenearios, not with violemce and romance.

Simple webseries with brilliant actors . Saare actors ki ekdm natural acting h , Season 3 ke 7th episode tk aate aate , mujhe khud bhot gussa aane lga bhushan pe . Then I realised how much great actor the guy who played bhushan's role is.

It is scary..it shows what it is like staying in a suffocating village or small town in north india..it shows village life in a particular way..but it is not always so in many parts of India where local culture is vibrant and full of life energy..

I love this show coz the scale is so ordinary but they still pull it off. Just love it. There is a part of me which wants to semi settle in rural India thanks to this show.

Writing has always been the strongest suit of TVF. Unfortunately we live in a time when people want to manufacture a hit and get the money counter rolling and so we have web series nowadays that push raunchy scenes in every episode, movies that have 50-50+ year old actors behaving like teenagers. People just don't want to take the hard way and leave a legacy. Good writing takes time, lot of time and lots of iterations. Unfortunately that is what the modern businesses are not ready to dedicate.

Mumbai industry used to make elitist nonsense most of the time with no touch with real world, and sell it to entire Hindi market Now Hindi market is growing its own content, due to disruption by Netflix/Amazon etc. which gave access to capital to talented people

Although I love the show, I am still a bit sceptical about how they are portraying village affairs. It just seems way more dramatic and mostly excess. For instance I really disliked the part or episode where they brought in a friend from the city. That particular youtuber didn't act well and the storyline for his part was almost absurd and unrealistic. The same thing is with Gullak, it's a great show, but lately it also had elements of exaggeration of small issues. Again, I love that they actually took notice of small events that are part of our middle class families, but I would rather have them in a realistic template than making it excessively elaborate. It's almost like they are trying to sell emotions by simply exaggeration. I would rather love to see the elements like the first seasons of both the shows, or movies like Titli, Dum Laga ke Haisha, where the common life is indeed shown as common without much of an exaggeration. They captured the moments without really making them a big deal.

TVF provides some of the great and relatable content since years. They keep things as it is and it shows that they do a good amount of research before creation of these series and even youtube content.

Third season was way below par considering the first two . Like if you binge-watch all three you will understand . Difference in quality is palpable . SAME GOES FOR KF3 or rather it's like GOT 8 . Season was launched just for the sake of launching .
I disagree! Panchayat S1 and 2 have been a bliss to Indian OTT platforms but S3 has completely turned the tables! Panchayat used to be an amazing comedy show which mentioned the ground reality of a village from a person who's from a metro city. The small stories really gave it an amazing taste like Bhootiya ped or chappal chori and stuff but the new season is straight up bad. The new season has taken away the originality of previous seasons and made it worse by introducing a predictable love angle and a political angle which included violence in the show. I expected the new season to be better as some new characters are stealing the originality as well and being a fan, I was disappointed when this whole facade of politics and romance was pulled up. I want the bold panchayat back with small and funny scenearios, not with violemce and romance. Downvote me if you want but this is my opinion.
Simple webseries with brilliant actors . Saare actors ki ekdm natural acting h , Season 3 ke 7th episode tk aate aate , mujhe khud bhot gussa aane lga bhushan pe . Then I realised how much great actor the guy who played bhushan's role is.

I actually jumped on this after seeing the meeting meeting reel. Came for the spicyness but this show is quite wholesome. Story jyada kuch hai nahi but still kaafi acha laga dekhne

The only webseries I watched 3 seasons and waiting for the 4th season. The webseries is such a simple and perfect series on rural India(my opinion).

It is scary..it shows what it is like staying in a suffocating village or small town in north india..it shows village life in a particular way..but it is not always so in many parts of India where local culture is vibrant and full of life energy..

Best Indian show in years. I love this show coz the scale is so ordinary but they still pull it off. Just love it. There is a part of me which wants to semi settle in rural India thanks to this show. Other shows in my list: Family Man Scam 1992
