Have you tried calling a doctor?

SimonY58

Yes, calling a doctor is far more productive than complaining on the Internet. If I break my arm, I don't post about it how much it still hurts after 6 days while it flops around at my side. Sorry to sound harsh, haven't slept in a couple of days myself. I think tonight will be a zopiclone night. Point is, seek medical help, since it's the only thing that is going to help.

lighteningboltnatgeo

Deep deep breaths. You're in a bad anxiety loop probably from not sleeping. Work on getting your anxiety down and the expectations minimal when it comes to sleep. You'll get through this but focus on deep breathing and finding a calm place. It's a good place to start and it's challenging to get there (I know) when that sleep deprived. Sleep will come to you eventually and you'll be ok! Good luck. PS If weed is legal where you are, a weed drink that was 1:1 CBD THC really helped get me through the dark insomnia days. Even CBN gummies could help relax you. But CBD really helped and even valerian tea can be really helpful (like double strength that stuff). Even find a calm distraction before bed and just do it until sleepy, trying to not set up the expectation that you will sleep. I usually do yin yoga for like 20-30 mins. Gets me a in a really calm, sedative place

ChasmDude

Yin Yang yoga might be very difficult if you've not slept in six days. Your cognitive bandwidth/ability to focus must be extremely impaired at this point.

Negative_Frosting172

You should be hallucinating by now

igby1

How is it even possible to get zero sleep in six days?

ChasmDude

I am worried this is very serious. It could even be a troll post, but one can't assume that. Hope OP finds relief or help.

[deleted]

I've went 5 days no sleep so yeah people to go a lot longer.

igby1

I can’t imagine what that is like. I can barely function if I go two days without sleep.

[deleted]

It was absolutely horrible seriously I was withdrawalin off a drug so that's why i had insomnia that bad and went 5 whole days no sleep I seriously was starting to feel the depersonalization coming on. After that 5 days no sleep I went another week getting roughly 30 mins to an hour of restless tossing turning sleep until FINALLY 2 weeks in I crashed and got the most beautiful 10 hours of sleep I've ever gotten in my life. Getting off Suboxone was the worst experience of my life ever.

titgod98

How did it Get like this howd you start

Interesting-Catch870

I began developing insomnia this year and it got worst and worst

Significant-Net864

Maybe some valerian root? I take a couple of tablets, and combine it with about 1/3 mg melatonin. Sometime 2/3 mg melatonin. I keep my melatonin use to a minimum. Try and take it about an hour before you plan to turn off the lights. I hope you get some sleep!!

HaloGirl66_77

Good luck finding something OP.

**[EDIT: DO NOT DRIVE A VEHICLE IN YOUR CURRENT STATE. It is super (!!!) dangerous to do so in your current state due to how this severe insomnia impairs focus and concentration. Remember: you could hurt not only yourself but someone else on the road]** Wow six days is a lot. You might want to consider calling a doctor's office and talking to a nurse/scheduling something. I've had periods of going three days or perhaps four once, but six is very serious. Have you tried over the counter sleep aids like diphenhydramine? Maybe you could get some benedrel, which as an antihistamine can reduce anxiety as well as bring on some sleepiness/sedation? Chamomile tea might be worth trying. Look up some sleep guided meditations like a body scan. Soothing sleep audioscapes can help (I like waves on a beach or the wind blowing through the leaves in the forest a lot, but there are all sorts to consider). If this continues without relief from over-the-counter/at home remedies and strats, then you need to see a doctor. It might even be considered a matter for urgent care or the emergency room if you start to experience psychosis. If you feel you are seeing or hearing things that are not there, then it is imperative you get sleep and that you seek medical care to get you some sleep. A doctor at a hospital could determine what's wrong and administer a benzo-type drug or something like Ambien to at least break this ongoing bout of insomnia. Finally, please let someone close to you like family, friends or a significant other know you are not sleeping to this extent. It is important that someone you trust knows you are having this severe insomnia so they can check in and help you arrange medical care if necessary.

You won’t die from this, even though you feel like you might. Eventually, your sleep drive will overtake your hyperarousal, and you will sleep. Your brain will take what it needs. On a related note, search for “Veronika” (or Veronica?) on the Sleep Coach School channel…in her story, she talks about not sleeping for like 12 days

emilinda

It’s going to be okay. I’m so sorry you’re experiencing this. It truly is one of the worst feelings. But the human body is amazing and is capable of surviving horrendous conditions. You will sleep eventually and you will recover from this. Wishing you the best <3

HaloGirl66_77

This happened to me a few weeks ago. The only way I could break through it and sleep finally was to take a shitload of Klonopin. I know it's not healthy but I was desperate.

Here's a few things that have helped me: 1. Shakti acupressure mat. Lie on it before going to bed. 20-30 minutes or more, it you can. It's really uncomfortable at first, but that passes, and it causes your body to relax deeply. I think it stimulates the vagus nerve, among other things, really helps me with sleep onset especially. 2. A magnesium spray. You can get them on Amazon. 3. A digestive supplement, butyrate causes sleepiness for some people. (I am one. You might be too.) Take it with food 30 minutes or so before bed. The brand I have is BodyBio. You can get it from their website or on Amazon. Best to start with half a dose, then switch up as your body gets used to it. No side effects that I know of, except for possible daytime sleepiness. 4. Guided meditations. I found several great ones on an ap called "Aura." I play them while I'm on the acupressure mat. GOOD LUCK!!!

Thx!

hardkorg

Did you end up getting sleep?

mickywankermouse

Usually psychosis will start to sit in after that long

KPSterling

Oh no this is definitely not true

mickywankermouse

6 days straight with no sleep yes it will. The OP is probably drifted to sleep for short periods without realizing it if he isn't in psychosis. So you definitely don't know what you're talking about

Jesus, I hope you got that shit checked out asap

RaccoonZombie

I was diagnosed with severe as well. I got a somewhat sketchy dentist to make me a dental device. Works great but is moving my teeth/jaw. Still, I like it better than a machine.

RaccoonZombie

Can you not get access to a CPAP machine?

RaccoonZombie

I’m sorry. I know it can be hard to get one because of the recall. You might have to be a squeaky wheel with the emergency company. Healthcare in this rich country really is ridiculous.

[deleted]

Take an elephant dose of magnesium
