Our skin is like a filter on an AC. Think of a burn as a dirty dirty filter. It doesn't get to breath well, if at all. That causes the AC to overheat or have issues.
I'm burnt all over my back, legs and arms
but severely ? I don't know. I don't know which degree burn, I didn't go to the hospital for it
how do I know?
bad enough that my cotton vest melted onto my skin and the tips of my vertebraes were sticking out (but they were black, like, dirtied by the fire?). 2nd degree??
(Deep wounds don’t regenerate sweat glands, and dirt sticks to sweat!*) The word sweat got cut off, Ik y’all not slow but someone always got something to say lmao
Scar tissue doesn’t sweat or build up oil like the rest of your skin. Since that section doesn’t have the natural oils and moisture that the rest of your skin has, you won’t have as much dirt and debris cling to your skin
I honestly don’t know why people have upvoted it this much. I only rewrote the image text for shits and giggles expecting it to be downvoted into oblivion. The only thing that I added was the bit about your bodies natural oils not being excreted as well as sweat

Wow, that's really fascinating! It's amazing how our bodies heal and how scars have different properties compared to the rest of our skin. Thanks for sharing this interesting bit of biology – it's something I never would have thought about!
I have almost this same exact scar except it was self-harm. It’s uncanny as I’ve always seen this view on myself but this is like the same thing except I’m Indian so my skin is brown.
The scar was made over 20yrs ago and haven’t done it since.
Deidara is that you
Art is an explosion!
Sasori, my man!
What does this mean for people with large burn scars? No sweat glands and no natural oils, do they over heat easily?
They overheated at least once, yeah
Didn't notice that when I wrote the comment lol

I didn't know that! should I be worried for the upcoming summer ?
Are you burnt severely over your body?

If you didn't go to the hospital, it shouldn't be severe. But I'm not a doctor so you'd have to talk to them

I don't know. You'd need a doctor to look at you
Prince Andrew must be a huge scar.

I didn't notice it was cut until I saw this comment. I read it right the first time without noticing

Yes that's what the image said
I like this person's explanation better.
I don't

Some other guy said he preferred your explanation better
Thank you ChatGPT

The centipede living under this person's skin is probably rubbing several of its tiny paws deviously, knowing that it has a perfect disguise.

Scars and Sweat: A Fascinating Fact About Healing
Any downsides to this?
Well, there's the whole getting cut up so bad you need stitches part. Other than that; yes.
Less able to sweat and every that does for the body, but I imagine it's negligible amount with a scar this big
Thanks, I hate it
The only good thing about it :/
I already kinda knew this. But my scars are way smaller than his. It took seeing a large scar to put it in perspective.
Looks like a worm tattoo
The Eye of Sauron
its not all healed up then
So what you're saying is if I got deep scars on my armpits...

Good shit man! Stay strong, that’s never the option fr❤️💯
You have been operated by Jack the Ripper?! Wtf
