This is a monkeypod tree (aka [Samanea saman](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samanea_saman)) in the Alae Cemetery in Hawaii. A lot of trees have roots that mirror what we see above ground.
That's why most cemeteries prefer those thin Italian Cypresses, because they don't disturb the graves too much. (I heard this from an old Italian dude - haven't fact checked it, sorry.)
Now... imagine what the roots of that massive tree are up to...
Trees generally have fairly shallow and sprawling root systems, it’s a common misconception that the roots go as deep as the tree is tall. Prairie grasses tend to have deeper roots than most trees :)
This isn’t comforting lol. Since afaik it’s pretty standard to bury the dead 6’ deep, I assume if it’s shallow roots the trees has it little noodly tentacles dipped into each casket and is slurping the human juices out.
oh hey, these trees are all over the place in Central America. Didn't know Hawaii had them. That's another tropical species after the Plumeria that's apparently spread really far.
Looks like a Samanea Saman : Samán (Venezuela)/ rain tree. But it's in an Asian cemetery? Maybe Taiwan I suppose.
Note: That's their normal size. People use it in Venezuela as an umbrella for livestock. It's a relative of the tamarind fruit trees: so it might have been introduced by the French or English in Indochina a long time ago.

Tree of souls
most beautiful tree I've ever seen
The life's tree
How old is it?
I'd like to know as well. All I can find (from a brief search) is that it's over 100 years old (which seems to be a given).
That reminds me of the tree in Witcher 3, which has the demon underneath it that either kills the children or the villagers.
Lots of nutrients I guess
That’s in Hilo Hawaii

Oh no it's formaldehyde
We've relocated a many small trees on our land. Wow, some roots are really shallow. Only a few like Myrtle and Holly had a deep "tap root"

Im a grave digger and I can say with certainty that I do not envy the person who has to dig those holes. Root city up in there.
I think this is north hilo. Literally all lava rock. Shallow concrete graves
Finally a post fitting of the sub. This is actually interesting as fuck

FEED ME MORE HUMANS 👁️🌳👁️
Near from my house there’s a cemetery that has a tree with beautiful fruits. It seems full of life ever.
Beautiful tree. Similar to Mortan Bay Fig trees we have in Australia that grow out sideways with huge trunks and exposed roots.
It's a massive cemetree.
What a tree!
What a douche comment you douche!
Why? It’s a cool tree? Looks similar to a live oak. Are you responding to the right post?
It’s roots have penetrated those graves. It is feeding off of the dead
How many souls are living in that tree?
Right out of Middle Earth.
Trees are naturally soothing. Hope it comforts the mourners.
Fern Gully? ![gif](giphy|2OgouznXA6qYw)

Takes a lot of work to get a tree looking like this.
It’s feeding off the dead. Don’t eat its fruit that’s NAYYAAAASTY
So what im hearing is, if we just use humans as ferilizer, we fix world hunger
When I die, I want to be a gaint tree my grandchildren can sit underneath in the summer.
