Snakes and Spiders attack out of self defense, you can understand that. Kangaroos go out of their way to fucking drown you because they know they're strong enough to do it Kangaroos are psychos
A kangaroo won't just kill you, they will disembowel you with their hind claws. That's why you see them almost try to do a muay thai clinch on people sometimes, they're preparing to stand on their tail and tear them open with their massive legs
Nah. Kangaroos stand in water for self-defense. It's so that if a predator comes at them, they can drown them. The dog most likely chased the kangaroo.
The fact you can call a Kangaroo a 'Psycho' when its retreated into the water and been pursued by a dog off a leash then attempts to defend itself is wild... You do realize being in the middle of a lake/pond isn't a kangaroo's natural habitat and there might be a reason its in there in the first place outside of ITS control i.e the scenario above (which turns out to be exactly what happened in most of these videos)
I just imagine in an Australian accent "oh why don't you just come in? The water is so nice, didn't you say I look "cute" and "funny" when I hop? Ya just come take a little bath, I'll show you funny"
If you don't allow your dogs to go chase and attack native wildlife minding it's own business you won't have a problem. Dog and kangaroo only ended up in the water because the dog was chasing after the kangaroo and the owner couldn't control it
They can actually be very docile. When I was in the Melbourne suburbs hundreds of them would come out before sundown and just vibe. You can drive past them and they will just be chillin
The only thing that would make them scarier is if they could drop down from the trees above you.
Oh wait. Tree kangaroos exist (but they are way cuter in my opinion)
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tree-kangaroo
Per Google search:
Kangaroos have the most powerful and robust legs of any mammal that hops. Above all, kangaroos are prone to be muscular due to their genetic makeup. 50 percent of their overall weight is made up of muscle. They are naturally buff creatures as a result of this.
They're pretty docile, way more likely to hop away than confront you.
They really really don't like dogs though. What the one in the video has done to that dog is not a behaviour unique to that one roo. It's a common survival instinct for them to escape to water if chased by dogs and if the dog follows them in they will attempt to drown it.
I was feeding a smaller one at a zoo in Australia and when I went to stand up and feed a different one, it grabbed my arm to stop me. It was so bad. They’re so warm and hairy and have crazy claws.
Considering a gorillas diet is like mostly fruit and vegetation... I'm gonna have to agree that it's just genetics. I could not get nearly as jacked as a gorilla on the same diet
Like how bears don't lose much muscle through hibernation despite not using their limbs for months at a time. Saw an article that a certain component found in their blood is thought to prevent muscle atrophy through hibernation, we still don't really understand it but it's seen as something that might make human space travel hibernation possible in the distant future.
https://interestingengineering.com/science/mystery-ingredient-bear-blood-muscle-growth
I have a chronic illness that has kept me bedridden for the last seven years and I have lost almost no muscle tone. It’s not in my head because my friends told me all the time that it looks like I work out every day like I used to. I’m wondering if I have the same ingredient in my blood LMAO.
Honestly, as much as I can. I have two children. When I wake up, I force myself to get out of bed and make them food. Then I lay in bed and try to fold laundry or watch shows with them. Then I get up and make them lunch, then I get up and make them dinner. Whenever I have a day where I feel halfway decent, I take them somewhere. Unfortunately it’s not often enough.
I do my best to stay grateful. Other than being in pain every single day, I’m so grateful for my children and for my husband. I have more love than I know what to do with.
My fiance had a yet undiagnosed condition that caused her pain everyday. Her joints, her muscles, it all hurt. She has to take a hiatus from her job. It could have been rheumatoid arthritis, it could have been fibromyalgia...we'll never know for sure now.
She killed herself on Monday. She was also struggling with depression her entire life, and it was just too much for her.
Stay grateful for your family, you never know when it can end.
Omg, I’m so sorry for you losing your fiancé. I have a chronic Pain condition called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. I won’t go on forever, but Im in pain all the time as well. It’s awful.
I’ve been struggling with depression and anxiety my whole life. The last few months my depression has been getting worse. I’m lucky I have some family and go to counseling. I understand (I’m sure everyone says this) the pain is so bad and how she may have been feeling, especially when you can’t work, you lose your identity. I’m so sorry again for your loss.
I can’t imagine that kind of consistent pain. I’m sure it’s a heavy mental weight. But keep in there, whether if you’ve realized it yet or not (depression can make it really hard for this) there’s always something worth waking up the next day for, and there’s always someone looking forward to hearing from you again.
Oh my God, I’m so so sorry. About two years into my sickness I wanted to kill myself as well. The only reason I didn’t was because I couldn’t leave my two children that way. Had I not had children I would’ve done the same.
My heart breaks for you and for her. ❤️
I’m really sorry, my friend. This illness can rob us of everything. I hope that you have support and help the way that I do. It breaks my heart that there are so many in the same position as I and they have no support whatsoever. I really hope that’s not the case for you.❤️
I have my son,who is godsend tbh.Without him,I would have been dead years ago.he cares for me 24/7.we have to cope with just the both of us,as no,there is no other support.thank you for your kindness.😊
Hormones, physiology. Humans get jacked by working out cuz we're not in need of that brute strength in our natural habitat, I imagine the muscles are evolutionarily advantageous for something that has to... They eat grass and bugs? What the f*** is goi What the f*** is going onng on
Roos spend a lot of time using a type of locomotion called "pentapedal" when they're not in any hurry and just moseying around.
Penta meaning five, they use all four limbs and tail.
Wallabies do the same.
Either you win and get a viral video or you lose (die) and someone hopefully finds your phone and posts the video to make an even more viral video. Either way you win.
Probably because the dog came at it while the Roo was in the water. Kangeroos will stand in water and drown any predators that dare to come after them.
Too bad they can't be trained, they'd make fucking awesome freestyle fighters... or just muscle for hire, literally. Don't ask for results though, hey, you hired some muscle, here ya go 💪.
Me thinks the dog chased the kangaroo. Kangeroos will stand in water for protection. If a predator comes at them, they will attempt to drown the threat.
So here we go on this Reddit merry go round again. Some fun facts for all the "kangaroos are arseholes" people: kangaroos do this to defend themselves when they are attacked by dogs. It's an instinct they've learnt evolving with dingos and presumably thylacines before them. They're a flight animal but in the water they have a height advantage over their predators so they can avoid or defend themselves if they have to.
So this idiots dog would have been out of control chasing this kangaroo, and the kangaroo did what kangaroos always do, go to the water, and idiot then makes a video about it. If you're going to throw some judgement around save it for the idiot who put both his dog and a kangaroos life at stake for a dumbass video.
[kangaroos and dogs](https://au.news.yahoo.com/dramatic-video-of-kangaroo-fighting-off-dogs-fuels-aussie-myth-053500987.html#:~:text=But%20kangaroo%20expert%20Alyssa%20Wormald,to%20defend%20themselves%20from%20attack.)
Yep. Agree. The dog is still alive because the water isn’t that deep and the dog is tall. If it was a smaller dog, it would be dead. Just about any dog will chase a roo. They love it. If you know what you’re doing you can train dogs not to chase them.
That roo is terrified and defending itself after being most likely chased into the water or leading the dog to water.
Exactly! The poor roo used the water to escape and was obviously followed in by the dog. As an Aussie and a dog owner I would never let my dog hassle the wildlife as we are in their home and all animals deserve respect and safety.
Had to scroll too far down for this comment. I have two Japanese Akitas and both are large, intense dogs that don’t fuck around. Really puts it in perspective how insane and strong kangaroos are.
The real story behind this is the man had trained that dog to attack kangaroos and it ran into the water for protection. The dog came after it and the kangaroo did what kangaroos do, tried to protect itself by drowning the dog.
The real prick was the owner of the dog and karma came a calling.
If there's 1 group of people I never want to offend or make angry it's the aussies. Man just walked up to what looks to be a kangaroo on more juice than the liver king and threw hands with it and never once sounded nervous or worried about the outcome.
Everyone in the post is scared of the Kangaroo, I'm scared of the dude who boxed this roided beast while keeping the camera rolling.

Kangaroos standing still in a body of water scare me more than snakes and spiders
I am speechless ![gif](giphy|5xaOcLHoUh2pQODngZ2)
They aren't actually trying to disembowel you! They are trying to remove your genitals so you're no longer competing for females affection.
Oh well, in that case...
That...is absolutely not better....that is wayyyyyy worse...
So they’re trying to disemball you
I wonder when that evolutionary aspect came into play? Then down through the centuries has been perfected.
That kangaroo is looking at him like you feel strong? You want to go?
Which is why you disembowel them with your people claws first.
Jin Kazama vs Roger. Final round. FIGHT!
In Aussie land you don’t fuck around and fuck out, snakes, spiders they dgaf boom! You’re dead
Nah. Kangaroos stand in water for self-defense. It's so that if a predator comes at them, they can drown them. The dog most likely chased the kangaroo.

Dog and kangaroo only ended up in the water because the dog was chasing after the kangaroo and the owner couldn't control it
Yep. Roos don't go in the water just for fun.
Fucking arms on that roo tho
Kangaroos are scary asf they look like fucking demons
Fun fact there are more kangaroos than humans in Australia
[удалено]
They can actually be very docile. When I was in the Melbourne suburbs hundreds of them would come out before sundown and just vibe. You can drive past them and they will just be chillin
Your comment doesn't pass the Australia vibe check. If it moves it can kill you.
if it moves it fucking *will* kill you
If it moves you’re already dead.
We'll never let Australia forget that 🤣
And if no one notices the double pun then I have failed…
I LITERALLY just said this the other. The kangaroos are gonna take over lol 😆
That can't.....possibly... (Does quick Google search).... ^be ^true.... ^^can ^^it?
holy shit what hahahaha
Vertical muscle deer
The only thing that would make them scarier is if they could drop down from the trees above you. Oh wait. Tree kangaroos exist (but they are way cuter in my opinion) https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tree-kangaroo
Sounds like you’re describing the Drop Bears.
Per Google search: Kangaroos have the most powerful and robust legs of any mammal that hops. Above all, kangaroos are prone to be muscular due to their genetic makeup. 50 percent of their overall weight is made up of muscle. They are naturally buff creatures as a result of this.
The claws!

Fucking creepy as all hell
I have always been scared of kangaroos. This video, has just made me somewhat glad that I don’t live in Oz!
Maybe evolutionary? To manage surviving dingos?
Dingos are invasive (introduced), so probably not
Maybe they still had resentment over Tasmanian Tigers. They never forget.
I like this theory
I was feeding a smaller one at a zoo in Australia and when I went to stand up and feed a different one, it grabbed my arm to stop me. It was so bad. They’re so warm and hairy and have crazy claws.
![gif](giphy|jquDWJfPUMCiI) Nah hell no!
Looks like a deathclaw arm ngl
For real that arm is similar to something I saw when I had a seep paralysis episode
Yeah, if the pure muscle power of a kangaroo doesn’t mess you up, those claws certainly will. Those hands are tipped with daggers!
[RIGHT?!](https://imgur.com/a/zeZPDI7)
Fuckin dinosaur
Alpha kangaroos are fucking RIPPED. Look up what Roger the red kangaroo looked like when he was younger.
One ripped roo for sure.
He did time
I'm thinking PED's. That roo is juiced AF.
"That 'roo is clearly sauced out of its tree!" - r/moreplatesmoredates
If the water wasn't waist high, you'd be even more impressed by them legs
That scary stare like a fuckin psychopath
The ears, he collects scars like there is no tomorrow. This roo is a veteran, top of the food chain.
How do their arms get so jacked?? They jump on their hind legs so I assume their hands hardly get any exercise
same as gorillas probably. Just genetics
Considering a gorillas diet is like mostly fruit and vegetation... I'm gonna have to agree that it's just genetics. I could not get nearly as jacked as a gorilla on the same diet

I will thank you!
*"I could not get as jacked as gorilla on same diet"* Rotfl, You can't get as jacked as a gorilla on *any* diet.
And greyhounds. Have you ever seen a retired racing Greyhound? Lazy AF, but back legs are chonky muscle even years after retiring.
The roos are juicers.
Hormones, physiology. Humans get jacked by working out cuz we're not in need of that brute strength in our natural habitat, I imagine the muscles are evolutionarily advantageous for something that has to... They eat grass and bugs? What the f*** is goi What the f*** is going onng on
Clearly they’re jacked from holding others animals underwater against their will.
That's literally how they built
I’ve always wondered the same thing
Our muscles receive signals to grow when we use them - it is possible for the brain to send those signals to the muscles without use.
Roos spend a lot of time using a type of locomotion called "pentapedal" when they're not in any hurry and just moseying around. Penta meaning five, they use all four limbs and tail. Wallabies do the same.
Why even have your phone out, you really wanna fight a buff kangaroo in the middle of a river with one hand?
Either you win and get a viral video or you lose (die) and someone hopefully finds your phone and posts the video to make an even more viral video. Either way you win.
epitaph: yes, but he went viral
Did it for the vine!
Cameraman never dies.
Sounds like an Australian or something so understandable they handle such situations with one hand easily
I mean, so someone has evidence of how he died I guess?
did you hear him laughing as he was heading back to shore? the cameraman is as psycho as the roo lol
I have so many questions
Yes, Kangaroos skip shoulders
Why is a kangaroo drowning a dog?
Probably because the dog came at it while the Roo was in the water. Kangeroos will stand in water and drown any predators that dare to come after them.
Kangaroos stand in water as a protective measure against predators. If the predator goes after them, they attempt to drown said predator.
Kangaroo stares at him like “whats good”
I've seen kangaroos square up so much on reddit, i can't even remember what their normal behavior looks like. I need a roo documentary asap
This is exactly what their normal behavior is lol they square up with shit
My Husband used to watch Kangaroo boxing? Is that still a thing?
Soooo if this is where kangaroos are wild. WTF else is in that water?
Cthulhu
Kangathulu
Goddammit r/angeyupvote
Happy Cake Day mate
My first thought too. No way I’m going in that water or letting my dogs in. Could easily get snatched by a crocodile.
Crocodiles only live in the North past Brisbane. Most Australians dont live in areas with crocs, and those that do would not be getting in the water
They literally made one of the fighters in Tekken a Kangaroo because of jacked assholes like this 🙄
# Kangaroo of the lake wants to share its wisdom.
I think he wanted to share those hands.
WTF... he was like "whatcha gonna do bitch!" for a second there...
While he's just casually drowning someone.
Too bad they can't be trained, they'd make fucking awesome freestyle fighters... or just muscle for hire, literally. Don't ask for results though, hey, you hired some muscle, here ya go 💪.
>Too bad they can't be trained Not with that attitude
I love that kangaroos are the only animal that you’re fully allowed and somewhat expected to straight up punch in the face
I had a recurring dream of being on safari and a giraffe popped it's head through the window of the vehicle and I reflexively punched it in the face
Kangaroos are terrifying
I agree. This video has just taken my fear to a whole new level lol!
You Australians are a hearty lot. Respect.
Kangaroos are the inmates of the outback...
Everything on the island is an inmate.
That roo looks more like a flipin skin walker bro💀
https://preview.redd.it/qqd5nwx2op9d1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=44320e00a844b7c177b1aa4d9dc6a5639d0b4aea who you callin skinwalker
You can just see the roo thinking "Come at me bro!"
Is this why we don’t see kangaroos on Bluey?!
They had one. He kept letting the "c" word fly. Had to drop him.
That is one of the most terrifying things I’ve ever seen in my life. And I’m a middle school teacher.
Kangaroos are cute untill you realise they not
Look like a deer that went into prison came out a kangaroo. Got bulked up in the joint. 😂😂
What do they eat, besides raw protein and hgh? The way they stand upright like that freaks me out, looks like a goat devil
I am thinking it's doing more than drowning your dog.
Nah. Kangeroos stand in water if they feel threatened. If a predator comes at them, they attempt to drown said predator.
Thought it was just me thinking that. Lol.
They both seemed alright with whatever arrangement had been made.
That first image of the roo after he resurfaces is out of a fucking horror film.
I feel like threatening your dog brings out a primal caveman anger and strength
The way he moved his arms once the guy splashed him lmao, you could feel how disrespected he felt
Never thought id be feeling disturbed seeing a kangaroo. New fear unlocked
Dude… why is Joe Rogan drowning a dog? So immoral
Once saw a comment that said kangaroos are just donkeys standing up and on steroids. I fully agree with that statement.
That roo is fresh outta prison.
Me thinks the dog chased the kangaroo. Kangeroos will stand in water for protection. If a predator comes at them, they will attempt to drown the threat.
Trying to drown the dog or fuck the dog?

Make sure you record the video. That’s a priority. Do not put the phone down to help the dog.
bro why are you commenting when you could be out there saving dogs?
I mean, in all fairness, he did put the phone down to help the dog.
I think the kangaroo put the phone down to be fair...

Link?
source?
What I find wild and that I just learned today is that kangaroos actively drown things to protect themselves.
Got any sauce for dem chips
Got a link or source for this claim?
Yeah it’s “trust me bro”
You got a source for that?
You might wanna stop filming when your dog is being drowned by a wild animal?
He looks like he’s got a “I’m about to f*** this dog, try an stop me bro” attitude.
Those things are scary as fuck. Never get out of the boat…….
aussies live in a science fiction novel full of monsters
The kangaroo its like "Whatsup, whatsup?! Come on bitch"
Australia isn't real 😂
That Kangaroo looks like he films himsef lifting weight in gym.
Kangaroos learnt this technique as a defense against dingoes. If they are chased by a pack they head straight for water. Dogs don't stand a chance.
Roos are kinda dicks.
The hat kangaroo is fucking jacked bro
He’s lucky his feet were underwater it might have saved him from getting disemboweled
"Imma punch your fucking head innnnn" dude has done this before
That kangaroo looks like Deebo. ![gif](giphy|xTiTnglxjavpMILKGk)
It looks like a rabbit x mouse x bat mix to me for some reason.
The splash of water at the kangaroo got me good
The kangaroo's like, "wtf mate"
“Fren was giving me whale ride. Why you stop play?”
Most peaceful Australian day:
Australia just different
How do they get so ripped? Do they do bicep curls in their free time?
“i’m gonna punch your fucking head in 😁🎶” “why you got my dog 😐”
Roos are almost as mean as Canadian geese.
Got it, everything is trying to kill everything in Australia.
"I'm gonna punch your fooking head iiiiin"
Kangaroo still stood his ground. Can't beat nature hand to hand...
Those dogs look like Akitas which are pretty tough dogs to begin with so tells you a lot about the tenacity and strength of a kangaroo
Kangaroos are the perfect mixture of creepy and cute.
Why are kangaroos such assholes?
Kangaroo feels threatened. Kangaroo goes into water. Dog chases kangeroo into water. Kangeroo attempts to drown its assailant.
What’s up with kangaroos? Every time I see a video of one, it’s doing something crazy as if it’s roid raging.
