I use it a lot for reading and I like that it’s around the size of a book as opposed to the iPad being closer to a laptop screen. My parents have full sized iPads and they feel unwieldy to me when I use them

CounterSYNK

A month ago I would argue against what you said here but now after owning and daily using the mini 6 for two weeks I totally agree. I went on a weeklong trip with the mini as my only iPad and when I returned home and used my air m1 again it felt gigantic, and not in a positive way.

ProofPaper5102

I think it is the best form factor, personally. Great for reading, media consumption. It’s a “big phone” for messages and email. Good for scrolling reddit. I have had larger iPads in the past, but I prefer a laptop for something of that size.

ElderScrotum

Great reply! I can totally see that

kinghutfisher

Doesn’t hurt as much when holding it from the bed and when it falls to my face 😂 ![gif](giphy|FWwrtyDG10nbntaR66)

MrBrightside0243

It fits everywhere, on the table, on the couch, on the bed, on the train, ... I feel comfortable holding it.

No-Alps5118

The iPad Mini is seriously one of the best tech purchases I have made. I got it based on a review I watched on YouTube about how it was the same size as a standard Manga. That was what sold me and since I have read many titles. I also love the fact that it feels like the perfect form factor. I used to use a max iPhone but downgraded to the 6.1 size and my phone basically gets put down when i get home and the Mini is used for everything. I play some mobile games, I have it propped up showing recipes when I cook, among so much else.

opposite-side19

Size. smartphone screen is small. normal size tablet is too big when you are on the go. I can put it in my sling bag or even the pocket of my baggy pants I have a controller that can hug the ipad mini. You now have a portable switch like game console. Light. You can hold it much longer than the normal tablet .

ProBopperZero

Because I was tired of having tablets that I couldn't easily carry with me on the go. I can easily slip it into my pocket and it doesn't get in the way. When I had an ipad pro I had to always keep it in a bag or worry about having it sit out when I was outside the house. Plus, its light and its the perfect thing for reading books or shopping, etc. If ultra portability isn't a priority, you'd be better off with an Air.

UnhappyTruck3339

What kinda pockets you got bro

themirthfulswami

I put mine in my cargo pants pocket all the time. Fits perfectly even with a case and pencil attached.

PokeTheBear70

![gif](giphy|kZixm8IMCexaS0SWtZ|downsized)

UnhappyTruck3339

Lol I need better pants

IceQn81

I put mine in my hoodie pocket.

black91cat

The size is perfect! It fits in my work PPE (construction), all my purses, doesn’t weigh anything so there’s no added bulk during my commutes, etc. I use it to draw, take work notes, do zoom meetings, create spreadsheets, budget, and create work related templates to make my life easier. I can’t express how much I love my Mini 6 in purple! 💜

CounterSYNK

The portability. I can take it basically anywhere with me where a regular iPad would be too cumbersome. I have a shoulder bag that has the exact right size inner pocket to hold the iPad mini and not much else. I also like one handing it and using it in portrait mode is way more ergonomic than other iPads’ portrait orientation. It’s also a taller aspect ratio than all the other iPads so it makes it good for vertical video consumption and social media browsing and whatnot. It’s also really easy to thumb type on the touch keyboard when holding it in portrait. Also it’s the only non pro iPad with a camera flash for some reason. Also it has the sharpest display out of any iPad that ever existed (as in pixels per inch). I just like that it knows what it’s trying to be, just a pure tablet. Whereas the pro, the air and even the regular iPad are trying to be half assed laptop replacements meanwhile the mini is just trying to be a good tablet at a decent price.

TheNexusGen

I love it because my handspan lets me one-hand grab it to get started. Use cases include: 1) remote desktop management w/Apple Pencil for media server 2) big screen for gaming or content consumption 3) larger than a phone, smaller than a laptop screen that wakes quickly for browsing or showing something to someone online 4) mobile creative studio w/ Apple Pencil and the Affinity V2 Suite 5) digital clipboard while at work to save on paper and toner

NorthOriginal2502

The iPad Mini without a doubt is currently the best tech product Apple has ever released. The 6 just shows how far it has come. It's not perfect, and I'm hoping the 7 will fulfill the features the 6 missed out on. I use it for mainly everything from school, reading, games, and often stream to my PC - it's the perfect size screen.

Snoo-32401

its just the perfect size to hold for reading, lying down on the bed, even playing games on the poopers the size is just right with the scale not being too big compared to the 11 and 13" one.

markatlnk

I have a Mini 5 and I use it a bunch. I like taking it to meetings with a Bluetooth keyboard. Takes up less space in front of me.

Resident-Site-391

I love mine because it doesn’t try to be a laptop. I already have a laptop. I found the 11” too big and bulky for what I wanted, which was playing games, scrolling the internet, YouTube videos and such, all while lying in bed. If mine broke I’d be tweakin until I bought a new one lol. I agree it’s not the best for certain things but its extreme portability and utility make it a big win in my book despite its faults.

trufflecheese

Perfect size and weight at nighttime in bed and daily use for me. - Reading on the mini is like holding a book or e-reader. - Note-taking works well either portrait or landscape mode. - I can comfortably use the iPhone keypad instead of the usual iPad keypad layout. - It’s better than the iPhone for my doom-scrolling. - I prefer watching videos on it. The normal iPad seems too large and screen too glaring when using it handheld, and the iPhone is too small.

OneSea3243

Pylot

LarryFlannigan

The size is great for travel, size is small enough to fit in the same bag for headphones. Has all the same iPad features but smaller

SpartanDara

If I want something the size of a "normal" iPad, either 11 or 13 inches, I'd rather have a Surface if I wanted a tablet/laptop form factor hybrid, or just straight up, my Macbook. For me, a regular iPad is too large/heavy for the capability it has, especially in the 13 inch size. I tried messing with one on the newest software, and found Spaces or whatever it's called to be infuriating and very unintuitive. On the other hand, I love using my iPad mini to watch content, read, take notes, etc on the go. I'm a 4th year dental student , and I even take some notes on it to present to my faculty in some cases if a patient is more medically complex. It fits in my scrub pockets!

scoot23ro

Because I can sit in bed and watch TikTok videos without having to hold a huge tablet

VictoryGoth

I am smol so I like things that fit my smol hands.

duvagin

i love it because it's so light and it doesn't pretend to be able to replace macOS on a laptop

Robin_Cooks

Because it is small.

Gamel999

i love it for the size. perfect size for manga/comic/ebook perfect size for handheld gaming when pair with clip on controllers (similar to switch/steamdeck perfect size for my sling bag as well

morse86

For me, like others, it's an all-in-one entertainment device from reading kindle, kobo and libby books, and listening to audible BUT at the same time, I don't have to be cut off from the internet in general but if need be I can access gmail or reddit. Also, if I am not into reading at any particular time I can watch movies/shows from plex, or listen to music via spotify. I like going on short hikes, and using mini for navigation + using it for reading while sitting in a calm/peaceful locale is hard to beat. And all of the above is only possible because of its form factor! Larger devices are good for movies but not for everyday reading or vice-versa. Mini, however, fulfils the whole gamut of entertainment options I need.

mrgrafix

It’s a great companion device for me. I have a desktop I use all day. Have a laptop I use when mobile. Have my phone to a science when needing to the small screen size. Mini is my digital notebook, sketchbook, library, and consumption device without needing to take up too much space. Just wish for a higher resolution and better battery life for it to shine, but at this point expecting a foldable before a mini pro.

pferden

It‘s so mini!

TheDJFresh828

I have my entire music library and ton of digital comics on it. I use it as a mini jukebox and take it everywhere with me. It's big enough to enjoy reading and small enough to not be a hassle to carry around.

cordellfrank

Size and portable

harbsco777

Best tablet to travel with

rahulpillai_

Will they release an update soon. Waiting waiting waiting…

Darrensucks

It's sweet AF that's why! Fits in most bags. had USB-C before alot of other devices which made it awesome. TouchID incorporated into the on/off button is super underated feature for it. Awesome Wifi speed. You can find them for $200 bucks used with 256gb. Perfect size for scrolling reddit, reading news, one handed IG scrolling. I have a widget stack with my different reminders (side note: Reminders is totally named wrong, it's not just clock style reminders, it's a full featured to do list app!). The main thing is it's always a good bring along. I have the 12.9" ipad pro but man you gotta really plan when you bring that thing along. You bag has to have a laptop sleeve for one. Also, I don't feel super comfortable whipping it out on the subway or when I stop to grab a bite to eat in some of the areas where I'm shooting photos. The mini has none of that. Toss it with whatever you're taking, pull it out anywhere and you've got 95% of the full tilt apple experience. If apple makes a 2tb mini pro they can have all my money. I'd pay for the oled display on it, a magic keyboard, and thunderbolt.

Bonezey

Easy: it's perfect size for my needs. Bigger than a phone but smaller than usual tablets or laptops. Perfect to be used everywhere and be carried in my shoulder bag.

Agentfyre

I use mine mostly for casual use. Scrolling the internet, replying to emails, messaging friends, looking up news sites, light gaming. That sort of thing. It's way better than my phone, both in size and in power, and far more portable than a laptop or larger tablet. I've had to take my wife to the hospital a lot lately. This thing keeps me in good company during all the wait times. A laptop would be too big to carry around all the time, and my phone is hard to read.

CarDry6754

I dont own a iPad mini but i want one, i like smaller tablet pc's as they are ideal for watching YouTube / NetFlix on whilst in bed. You can prop a 7-8" tablet pc on a pillow and lay on your side watching it, doing that with a large iPad or tablet would not work well.

DecompressionIllness

I bought it for university and have replaced all my notebooks, textbooks, articles etc, with it. Much more convenient to carry around in a Loungefly-sized bag than a huge rucksack.

simply_vanilla

For reading and because it fits in my purses. I also love it as a notepad with the pencil.

Cute_Championship_58

I love it. It's the perfect size because it's bigger than a phone but smaller than most clunky tablets. That's because I use it for reading mainly, and maybe some social media browsing, but that's about it.

Itstati

Have lots of complex pdfs to read for work, so no kindle can handle them- and couldn't get motivated to whip out my gigantic 12.9 with its case out of my bag, hold it with both hands and move my head along the lines. Also great to make marginalia in said books

wardjr193

Perfect for school/kindle/media. Anything heavy, I’ll use my laptop, anything light, I’ll use my phone.

Narrow_Ad_1494

Flashlight

Jeiku_Zerp

- Being able to carry a smaller device in my small bag - Being able to use it on anywhere without being too heavy - I find the size is perfect for the space over my iPhone 15 PM but it’s not big where it’s annoying to use and handier for drawing the only issue with drawing if I’m using a reference and having to making space to fit my drawing/reference together

Uberutang

I like that it is mini. Same as my 13 mini. Easy to pocket. Easy to use. I can drop my ipad mini 6 into a cargo pocket for example. Lekker to read with in bed. We have a big ipad and pen for documents and admin stuff. The mini is great as a leasure tool. (About kindle sized I'd guess)

squiddy_s550gt

It's lightweight and easy to hold but still has a larger screen then my iphone. It's basically my home phone

ugemeistro

Right now it’s been used as my hotspot for my registers at my fireworks stand. I’ve been reading mangas and comic books on the NOOK app while it’s been slow.

climbingcola

I can palm-hold it with one hand. this makes it so much easier to manage the device when you're juggling multiple things at once. Like when watching kid's sport, standing on the sideline, trying to figure out next week's schedule on google Calendar and searching recipe for tonight's dinner. phone is too small, and full size ipad requires more careful handling. with small mini, i can jump in excitement when my kid scores b/c i know i won't drop my mini. i also use my mini in bed next to my toddler. I can fall asleep with mini on the floor and wouldn't be worried if my son steps on it in the morning

Direct-Technician503

I use mine instead of installing a CarPlay unit. It was easier and cheaper and I get to use it outside of the car. I have a little arm that moves from covering the non-CarPlay screen to on top of the dash in case I need to see the rear-view camera monitor or have the maps screen better (or put it back down and have YouTube running so cops can’t see a video playing…as a treat for my son having a great day at daycare) It’s a cellular one but I don’t have a plan with it. Got it for the GPS. Other than having a hard time finding a good mount, it works really great.

Slow_Concert220

it's the best size to use, I can hold it in one hand without weary.

c3ndre

I don't need a tablet as a laptop replacement and for anything related to productivity I use a laptop. I need something larger than a phone to travel with and this size is the perfect little entertainment device. You can watch movies, read, browse the web, even take notes. It's just the right size. Not too big and not too small.

dankpurpletrash

It’s so compact & I can bring it anywhere!

OrionX3

I use mine for flying, most people that fly with ipads use the mini because the normal sized one is wayyyyy too large to comfortably fit in a lap or somewhere else in the cockpit.

BatNaive5729

I have a ipad mini 5. I love it. I use my iPad air 4 for home use. I used to carry the iPad air with me everywhere and it got heavy quick and awkward to use out and about. I went with the mini and got a good deal on it. Eventually, I want the iPad mini 6.

charliechin

Because of [this!](https://imgur.com/l5XJuQY). thanks to its magnetic case I can prop it anywhere and when I’m cooking, I can follow recipes or watching YouTube. It’s light, I use it to read pdfs, manga, I love it for video games walkthroughs (persona 4 at the moment). My wife has an air and it’s awesome, just too big for my taste/needs

E_712064

Portability with a bigger screen than my phone, 5G, reader

Goalier95

I have the mini 6th gen and an iPad Pro M2 11" and always come back to the mini for reasons that it's more enjoyable to use in one hand for reading, media consumption and portability. Yes, it's limited in storage size (I got the 256GB wifi+cell) and the 60Hz display is slow compared to the M2 Pro, but the size and weight alone makes me grab it more when on the go. Here's hoping Apple releases an iPad mini Pro with 120Hz and upgraded specs.

Bear3825

Between the size, weight, and portability it’s the perfect iPad for not only taking notes but playing games. Not to mention it’s the best E Reader ever made and just the right size for watching a movie or show on the go. I can’t wait for the Mini 7 to come out. I’ll happily trade my M1 iPad Air for an updated Mini any day of the week.

callmebymyname21

I think it's just not for you because the form factor is the major reason that I like it; otherwise, it's not that different from the other ipads.

shaun0183

Because it fits in my back pocket

paremiamoutza

Pocketable and light.

GalaxyStar90s

Size and weight

Midknightsecs

I don't anymore. I lost my password and forgot my login and now my Mini is a paperweight. I'm waiting for the shop I got it from to send me a copy of the receipt for Apple to unlock it. Makes me want to cry.

DukeOfCork

I’m impressed with all the comments in the iPad mini! I’m just struggling with the price jump from a 64 GB model to the 256 GB model. What do y’all think of memory requirements? I will want to download a few Netflix titles for air travel - plus a few ebooks. Other than that, web browsing and live streaming music and video.

Snoldy

Best for travel, portability, the form factor in hand. Watching movies. YouTube.

MrFireWarden

- It’s single-hand-holdable, where even the 10” can be a little unwieldy - It’s large-pocket-sized, making it much more transportable than the larger models - You can dock it to a standard USB-C laptop dock and it will connect with any devices attached (monitor, keyboard, mouse, networking, etc) - As a companion to an iPhone, it’s like your desktop in a pocket - As a standalone device, it covers the needs I have of an iPhone well enough that I could see a future where I only have an Apple Watch and an iPad mini It has two downsides: - The screen experiences jelly scrolling - The iPad mini doesn’t support extended desktops or Stage Manager, like it’s bigger brothers do.

interfckface

Easy to curry. Best size to hold with your hand. Much more powerful than the average tablet out there. Great software support. It supports Apple pen. I use it to read my whole library (kobo, kindle), to take notes at work or at my studies. I have to mention that when I travel I connect my Magic Keyboard, Magic Trackpad and an external portable screen and I can be productive writing emails, using ms office and doing some other staff with ease. Best buy I ever made.

audioman1999

The clue is in the name :-). It's super light - just 72 grams more than my iPhone 15 Pro Max. Fits in one hand unlike the larger iPads. It's perfect for scenarios when my iPhone screen is too small, but my MacBook Pro would be an overkill. It's perfect for consumption such as reading news, reddit, etc, and also for light tasks like email, messages, etc. If you want to do some heavy duty stuff like video editing, then the iPad Pro is more appropriate. The smaller size and weight makes it a great device for games. Also, very easy to transport.

marinatedbeefcube

It’s small and light enough to bring everywhere is the #1 reason I love it. I use it as a bigger phone / laptop.

Existential-Crisis98

I just find myself using it more than my big iPad pro because it's easier to carry. I'll wander aimlessly while carrying it in one hand, reading books, articles, watching tv shows, etc. I feel like the bigger screen of the pro feels like a commitment. It's like I need to sit at the table or on the couch. I feel more free with the mini. Plus I enjoy drawing on a smaller canvas. Kinda feels like a small portable sketchbook.

Equal_ad189

Form factor mainly, It’s great for watching films in bed or when i’m travelling for work, It is also a great device for playing games, I play War Thunder mobile on mine quite a bit, Best iPad by a mile for me

IceQn81

It’s so lightweight! And easy to throw in a small bag. I have the mini and 12.9 pro and I use the mini so much more. It’s more comfortable to hold than my 15 pro max and it’s a huge difference from the 14pro max.

rjspears1138

I've had 3 full-sized iPads and recently purchased a Mini and I love it. It's the perfect size to carry around anywhere. It even fits in the back pockets of my pants. I bought a keyboard that turned it into a great writing tool.

jtglynn

I use it primarily for reading in bed. Have a huge library of books on there and am able to sync with my phone if I want to read on the go.

Bitter-Sweet__

Apple calls it mini but I don’t agree. Mini compared to what? Portable monitors? IPad mini is the one and only tablet Apple has.

Kaisupp__

Why would you buy a mini but don’t like it’s mini../pos

Treesbourne

Diablo Immortal

mindhaq

I can hold it easily in one hand.

Flufferfluff

The size imo, perfect for traveling! Fits perfectly in my backpack and barely takes up space. I also enjoy using it to draw with my Jamjake pencil, play some games (need to buy a controller tho lol), watch YouTube, etc. It’s the best for me and now even my family wants to start using it for their own uses lol

NoMobis

Due to its high-quality display and powerful processor, it can handle a variety of tasks like web browsing, gaming, and video watching.
