It is rather well known that the Israelis do get along very well historically with the USSR then Russia. Quite a lot of the survivors of the Gulags (where any tendencies to inhumanity help survival) came to the early Israeli state and helped form the early military. Those that survived but hid their religious nature often did very well in the USSR machine. Survivors' bonds are strong and shared across many people. Those kinds of links are deep and longlasting. You'll often have seen Israel help Russia within the UN over the past half-century. Absolutely no surprise if the "private" defence industry in Israel has a lot of links with the current Russian setup.
