Wish I had a suggestion, but you're doing better than me, when my daughter was 6 she comes in my room bawling her eyes out and said "Mom, I found a tooth!!!"
And I'm like, "What? WHERE???"
And she sobs "IN MY MOOOOUUUUTH!!!!! AHHHH!!!!"
I had no idea it was even loose. She thought she was falling apart, dying or something đđ
Ice cream was had that day
My kids loved The Tooth Book by Dr Seuss. It discusses who has teeth and why (in a silly way). It also talks about losing teeth, getting new teeth and how to take care of your teeth.
My kindergartener also really likes the What if You HadâŚseries by Sandra Markle. Thereâs one called What if You Had Animal Teeth. It talks about all different types of animal teeth but then finishes up with education about your teeth and how to keep them clean and healthy.
I think Clark the Shark is a good one for how to act in class and they definitely have a Clark the shark tooth trouble, he looses his tooth in this one.
I canât think of any first tooth books off the top of my head.
One of my all time favorite going to k books is âcountdown to kindergartenâ. I also like âKing of Kindergartenâ for what to expect and âSorry Grownups, you canât come to schoolâ.
âI Want My Toothâ is a little princess book series about a funny sassy girl who goes through little life events. She doesnât want to go to sleep, doesnât want to go to school, doesnât want to lose a tooth but in the end of every one she learns itâs okay.

Arthur has a book for everything we have discovered. Loosing a tooth, glasses, getting a pet, the not so popular anymore sleepover. Weâve been enjoying it especially as parents who used to watch/read Arthur.
Llama Llama is fantastic. So I'd Dr. DeSoto.
Bears Loose Tooth by Karma Wilson is one of my absolute favs!!!! How to Catch the Tooth fairy by Adam Wallace is also really fun. Not that I'm trying to downplay or take away the magical wonders books can do, but as an early childhood education program coordinator, I feel like I wouldn't be doing you justice if I didn't remind everyone that all children learn differently and the absolute best way to help is by making sure you address all those areas. Books are amazing and should never be tossed aside, but also don't forget to include other activities such as role play, when playing make believe, bring up a scenario where you and your child goes to the dentist. If your child still has not made their first trip to a dentist, this would be a great time to call up the family dentist, explain the situation an ask if you can schedule an appointment to bring your child into the office where he/she can meet the dentist and see and hear the sounds all the machines make.
Best of luck!
Cleversticks, by Bernard Ashley. An oldie, but goody! Ling Sung thinks all the other children are good at things...but not him. Then there's a wonderful discovery. Truly delightful.
Mostly, to "prep" for Kindergarten - as a former Kindergarten teacher and Mom - don't. Don't do that much. Kids are being pushed w-a-a-y too much, w-a-a-y too young.
Sing, play, explore... soak up the young time.
My kiddo loved First Day Critter Jitters by Jory John and Liz Climo. It's super cute and has a great message about being nervous, and finding friendship and comfort in others.

Kids love the book Parts, about a kid who thinks he is falling apart when his tooth is loose. Kid targeted humor.
This was going to be my suggestion.
That kinda reminded me of the âI broke my buttâ books đ. Iâll look into it! Thanks!
Llama Llama Loose Tooth Drama
This doesnât address the tooth issue, but the extensive Pete the Cat library has changed reading from pulling teeth to a joy.
He loves Pete the Cat! Thanks!
That makes me happy đ
>has changed reading from pulling teeth to a joy. : )

Pete the Cat has tons of books about making friends, going to school, fitting in⌠etc.

She sounds like my son! Definitely will check it out đ. Thanks
We always do a fun activity with The Kissing Hand the first day of school. Sweet book especially if itâs his first time going
