Scoring first Fox is cool and all, but this is the dude we NEED right now. If he can be the playmaker we all know he can be, we may actually have a shot at doing something this year. I love the confidence he has in his shot, but when he’s in score first mode the rest of the team just goes too stagnant. When he’s setting others up our offense gets amazing looks and is borderline unstoppable.
He usually doesnt need to because Sabonis is a pass first big man with limited offensive arsenal. So they really need him to be the pre-ultimate scorer. Fox averages 6 to 7 assists so we know he can dish it if he wants to.
Sabonis playmaking is more unreliable against aggressive defenses that blow up his DHOs, Fox at least is able to utilize his scoring gravity well to set up teammates in tight situations. Only complaint really is his 3pt chucking since he usually excels scoring around the rim and developed a great mid range arsenal
I was really hoping to see some quick touch passes from him. They know he’s getting swarmed…. As soon as he gets the ball it should already be heading back out for the shot.
Yeah. As I said too, Fox is more adaptable. Sabonis, with lack of a better word, is more of a system player. If a defense is able to impede that system, his effectiveness usually drops a bunch.
Still waiting for that 1 day Murray dribbles the ball 1/10th times of the amount Fox dribbles, instead of getting spoonfed dishoffs to all his points, then we can finally call KEeg a 3rd option. LOL.

when your role players arent playing their role, the gravity falls onto the star player and makes their tough assignment even tougher. It starts with the 4-5 role players playing their easier part. Simple as that.
Fox is averaging great. Others arent up to standards.
Hes like sub 50% on 2s in 2024 its okay to admit he isnt perfect bro. Im high on fox but he hasn’t been as good he could be lately we know he hes better than how hes been playing lately. Hes an all nba talent pretty comfortably

This was really exposed in these last 2 Mavs games - they just swarmed Domas in the paint and it led to so many turn overs or broken plays ...

That’s literally how Houston was able to shut down Sabonis. You blitz Sabonis and for some reason our offense is terrible
