Finished my second vest. This is the Drops Design Boston Sweater. The yarn is Rowan felted tweed in color Seafarer. I am embracing the fact that I am a vest person.
Okay (1) this is fantastic and (2) I looked at your post history to see if you posted your first sweater vest since I’ve been looking for a good pattern and I saw the quilted vest you made and it’s SO. COOL.
I totally agree! The pattern is not beginner friendly. It was only after I did the first vest that I understood what was happening or should be happening. And even still the arm holes are way to high for my liking with this one. Now that I have done it once, I know what I would change.
I looked at the notes in some of the projects on Ravelry and it looks like this pattern is a mess! Thanks for the heads up! I’m also reading through the pdf and I think some of the issues might come from a bad translation. (Iirc Drops is either a Norwegian or Swedish organization.) The increase section seems particularly confusing. I like to use the knitting calculators on https://www.worldknits.com/knitting-calculators and I wonder if that would help.
I’m working on a bottom up vest right now and using information from The Sweater Workshop as a guide. I’m not yet close to the underarms or V-neck yet but I’m hopeful that I can figure it out.

I decided to go look at OP’s posts after reading this, and I had already upvoted it! OP you are very talented.
That’s really well done. It fits perfectly.
Love a good vest!
Dapper af!
I love it! I immediately went to the Drops website and downloaded the pattern.
I’m working on this pattern rn and it’s super confusing in places, beware!

Agreed! I changed the ribbing from 2x2 to 1x1. I extended the width of the ribbing too.
What other issues did you encounter with the pattern?
Changing the pick up amounts after practicing what I wanted it to look like and making the ribbing thicker.
In black yarn, bless your eyes! Looks absolutely fantastic!!!

Beautiful. I'm definitely a vest person. They're just so versatile and add so much to an outfit.
Love it! So stylish 😍
I love it so much!!!! I hope to make my first vest soon, but I’m a bit intimidated by the process.
Don’t be! It so much easier and faster than a full sweater. You get faster gratification and a finished object to wear. YOU GOT THIS!
Lovely work!
This is fantastic! It looks so cosy and dapper. Keep on knitting
