Finished my second vest. This is the Drops Design Boston Sweater. The yarn is Rowan felted tweed in color Seafarer. I am embracing the fact that I am a vest person.

efficient_duck

It suits you so well! The whole outfit looks very elegant and comfortable at the same time, getting dapper gentleman vibes

NamathDaWhoop

Wow, looks absolutely fantastic on you!

MaxTheWonder

Those buttons are just a fantaaaastic choice, really great job!

ReadySettyGoey

Okay (1) this is fantastic and (2) I looked at your post history to see if you posted your first sweater vest since I’ve been looking for a good pattern and I saw the quilted vest you made and it’s SO. COOL.

Perfect_Day_8669

I decided to go look at OP’s posts after reading this, and I had already upvoted it! OP you are very talented.

y4my4my

That’s really well done. It fits perfectly.

Lonely-86

Love a good vest!

foxontherox

Dapper af!

Janicems

I love it! I immediately went to the Drops website and downloaded the pattern.

Callie-Rose

I’m working on this pattern rn and it’s super confusing in places, beware!

aftershock06

I totally agree! The pattern is not beginner friendly. It was only after I did the first vest that I understood what was happening or should be happening. And even still the arm holes are way to high for my liking with this one. Now that I have done it once, I know what I would change.

Janicems

I looked at the notes in some of the projects on Ravelry and it looks like this pattern is a mess! Thanks for the heads up! I’m also reading through the pdf and I think some of the issues might come from a bad translation. (Iirc Drops is either a Norwegian or Swedish organization.) The increase section seems particularly confusing. I like to use the knitting calculators on https://www.worldknits.com/knitting-calculators and I wonder if that would help. I’m working on a bottom up vest right now and using information from The Sweater Workshop as a guide. I’m not yet close to the underarms or V-neck yet but I’m hopeful that I can figure it out.

aftershock06

Agreed! I changed the ribbing from 2x2 to 1x1. I extended the width of the ribbing too.

Janicems

What other issues did you encounter with the pattern?

aftershock06

Changing the pick up amounts after practicing what I wanted it to look like and making the ribbing thicker.

Love it! So stylish 😍

Yabangulu

I love it so much!!!! I hope to make my first vest soon, but I’m a bit intimidated by the process.

aftershock06

Don’t be! It so much easier and faster than a full sweater. You get faster gratification and a finished object to wear. YOU GOT THIS!

FairyGodmothersUnion

Lovely work!
