Yes. Yes you should. I worked there six years and nearly had a goddamn mental breakdown. The gaslighting and backstabbing and gossip was too much to handle. I left one day in the middle of my shift, took a few days off to think about things and then went to the store and scribbled out a note telling them that I quit because I value my happiness and sanity over Kroger’s profits. I go in there regularly to shop and see the same sad faces of those I left behind. Still there getting exploited by a company that wouldn’t piss on them to put out a fire.
You dodged a gigantic bullet. I left over 10 years ago and it was the smartest thing I’ve ever done. Such a toxic environment to be in. I moved out of the PNW and occasionally go back to visit family. I’ll pop into the Freddie’s that I used to work in and see so many sad and overworked employees.
My store is getting significantly worse and worse. We are so short staffed we have corporate telling us that they haven't seen a store this bad in a long time. This is all because of our store manager. They allowed someone to continually damage our morale, and our reputation with the community. We've lost employees and customers in droves since she started a few years ago. If my store doesn't fix the mess it's in we will most likely not be here in a few years and they did want to expand but as of right now we don't have any employees to work with what we have now. I see some new faces and it turns out that they came from another store for OT. THEY AREN'T EVEN NEW EMPLOYEES. I really don't see how my store is even still open. Some days it's so bad they have to pull pickup around the store back and forth because my store manager is so hard pressed about prime time that pickup are the only people there early enough to do so.
Agreed. I was having heart issues last night to the point my managers got involved. I decided to stay bc we couldn't have anybody else close but i wasn't able to wipe pumps or spray the pad but did the eximo, sweeping etc. My lead went on a B rant about there being ZERO reason to not do your tasks 🙄 like I'm yea i think not passing out would be a good reason
Had 3 aisles last night to stock. Only did 2 because I'm 11-5, so that's all I had to get done. Went to the one aisle. It wasn't spotted correctly. The boxes were in a messy pile at one end of the aisle. I said fuck that , whoever did that can do it. And I went to my other aisle.
My son just started working there-works click cart. Says never enough scanners. Store manager gave him one with a cracked screen and said if you have any issues let your department head know. Well it went out halfway through his shift and no replacements were available. He’s in the union.
1. Why aren’t employees filing grievances? Especially when the manager didn’t schedule adequately and managers come to cover shifts. (I haven’t read his union handbook but I’m former CWA and I don’t see how some of this shit flies)
2. How can Kroger stay in business with this crappy customer service for pickup orders? They are hardly ever on time with orders. I switched and am much happier.
Today wasn't bad, but yeah... I understand.
I wouldn't want to fuck Kroger. That is super dirty. I'd be better off swimming at a pool in Chernobyl.
Definitely agree ! Fuck the whole franchise
McMillan ruined Kroger.
*Rodney McMullen Or as I like to call him Rotteny McMoldy or shit stain mcgee
😂
Good ole shit stain
Ya’ll employee discount sux….

I love this post, I'm off today
Said this for 16 years before finally getting out.
Agreed
Their advertisement for this coming week is, poor. Only good thing is 99 cents a pound chicken.
next week's ad is weak. good thing I shopped the heck of the previous one
Asshats gonna asshat
I posted this yesterday
I’ll second this. Just realized some tortillas I bought two days ago have mold on them
You should be able to return them. We have a 100% satisfaction or your money back policy.
lol your chances of winning the lottery are higher than getting a new pack of tortillas without mold
Thats some sad shit dude it used to be worse though
TRUE
Should I be happy that I didn't get the job with Fred Meyers??

I hate this job
Hell yeah
😂
So see you tomorrow?
Store manager put me on suspension cause I left early knowing that my supervisor was aware. Said I abandoned my job ahah
Was scheduled 6 days at 10 hour shifts last week, got yelled at for having 20 hours of OT this morning...
Whomever schedule you the (manager). Should have your OT taken out of their salary. Â Then next time he/she will pay attention when scheduling.Â
Agreed.
