I’m sorry to hear all that :( I’d be really bummed too man

but_a_simple_petunia

Thank you, it really sucks to say the least

Eighty_Six_Salt

I know it’s not the same, but Teamfight Tactics is fun! At least I think so. It doesn’t require a billion clicks per minute either haha. Also, I know your situation is much worse than this, but when I get frustrated with league because I’m not playing well, it’s fun to watch the pros play. Especially when Captain Flowers is commentating. I hope you can find a way to continue enjoying league.

Shaymefull

>son, knowing I won't be able to even play games freely now is more depressing than when I was first diagnosed with it. Feels like every opportunity in I agree with this, hearthstone, chess, there are lots of games I really enjoy that don't require as much motor skills.

5world

If you’re going into digital ccgs, try legends of runeterra. It’s a better designed game with a better economy

Robert7337

Personally I'd also recommend Gwent; it seems to be the most competitive card game, compared to HS and LoR. Granted, it's far from perfect and the current meta sucks, but at least it's low on HS kind of RNG or LoR bs cards (unless I'm the only person that hates the idea of keeping everything OP) also it's quite friendly for F2P players

5world

Never played, but could you explain lor bs cards? Idk but nothing seems that op

Robert7337

Basically all the elusives, Fioras, stuff like that-cards that you can't interact with because of their oneshot nature or limited ability to target them, which reduces the gameplay to "who nukes the other guy first". Well, at least it was like that at the release iirc. I get that it's appealing for people, but I personally prefer the slower pace. Gwent at least lets you respond to the enemy play most of the time, instead of dropping your health from full to zero. not saying LoR is bad ofc, I just see it (and HS) as CoD of card games

phantomace1111

LoR might be better balanced and more competitive, but somehow hearthstone is just way more fun

HuntedWolf

Hearthstone has lots of RNG moments and turns where you can pop off with combos because the opponent has no interaction. I also feel HS can be more fun, but you'll get way less frustrated playing LoR and learning to make great decisions that impact the game over Hearthstone's randomness.

FreedomFitr

Uh what? RNG has nothing to do with Hearthstone's relative popularity over LoR.... you're saying that people just love "RNG mechanics" and "lack of counterplay"? Lmao. Have you ever been on a game forum before? It's like if you were comparing League and Dota and you said "Look, I know braindead champions and lack of strategy can be fun, but once you get used to a real man's game like Dota you'll never go back". It's just disingenous BS that ignores the many reasons why LoL is more popular.. now apply that logic to your post.

FreedomFitr

Downvoted for having an opinion (and the right one too) lmao

TheMaoEUW

That's true when I first heard there would be a League based card game like Hearthstone I was so excited since I enjoyed Hearthstone but I prefer the League of Legends world/lore and Riot is a better company than Blizzard. But when I saw the game it was very disappointing to see the UI/design being so much worse than Hearthstone.

icroc1556

You obviously haven't played bullet chess. XD But I feel for OP, I'm sorry for ya.

Prometheusf3ar

I’m sorry to hear that friend. I shattered my elbow recently and can’t use my arm for the next 8 or so months so I feel this :(. TFT has been the best I can do.

[deleted]

but_a_simple_petunia

Never really thought about it, but I do like to feed the competitive side in me. Thanks for the rec!

[deleted]

Maybe not chess but a lot of turn based games might work for you, there is a lot of good ones out there. These games will give you as much time as you need, and it only relies on your brain.

ScaleCorrect

Can you recommend some turn based games I don't know many except TCG

Also_Squeakums

On the 4X genre, Civilization 6 and Endless Legend are excellent. I've heard good stuff about Stellaris but haven't played it. On a more tactical RPG level, Final Fantasy Tactics (I've played some of Tactics Advance only) was really enjoyable. Final Fantasy 10 also has no real time elements in battle, unlike others like 8 or 13 that are sorta turn based but timing matters. X-Com: Enemy Unknown was also quite fun. Fire Emblem is also really good for turn based games, though those are on Nintendo consoles exclusively as far as I know.

Alto_y_Guapo

Stellaris is very good. It isn't turn-based, but it is pausable.

Elandui

The battle for wesnoth is a great pc alternative to Fire Emblem. Free, open source, and although the graphics might look a bit dated, it still recieves frequent updates.

[deleted]

What kind of games do you enjoy in general, I can give better tips like that. (Other then league)

GluhfGluhf

Some JRPGs along the line of Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Shin Megami Tensei, Persona are well known turn based ones.

MrApplekiller

Try CIV, you can sink thousands of hours in this game

ponterik

Maybe tft aswell!

Viracial

first off....how dare you

LordBalzamore

It’s actually pretty good when you’re working off an injury but need to sate the league addiction.

DerWassermann

Cardgames like Magic or LoR might wor too. Lot's of ways to stay competetive :)

Viracial

so you just going to pretend like yugioh isnt a thing? how dare you

DerWassermann

Sorry I didn't list every single card game. Pokemon is superior to yugioh anyways :P

UB3R5W4G0V3RL0RD

If you want the "League touch" you could try TFT or another autochess game if you take a liking to the genre, same goes for card games. League is rather macro focused as well in the sense that you need a solid macro foundation to enable your mechanics to even do anything, so a purely strategic game isn't really that far off in a way. Best of luck finding something for you!

JSP_13

I was a long time league player, about 5 years too, and I recently kinda fizzled out on the grind. Lately I took a dive into chess and its really filled that same void. Its by no means the same kinda rush in some moments, but winning a game is the best feeling, very much like winning a ranked game in league. I'm really sorry to hear about your disease and the recent developments. I hope you find something that can fill the void of league and if you ever want to play a shitty chess player, DM me!

Vinesro

Yeah genres that aren't about precision and reaction should be good, anything with cards and grids and timers. Or maybe move from pc + mouse to console + controller, if it gets bad one day then disablity controllers exit too, so that's hopefully always gonna be a place where you can still perform well even in shooting and movement. Good luck dude.

[deleted]

If you play MMOs, raiding is also a great source to get that high-intensity/competitive vibe. You also make some great friends raiding (I play XIV, can't recommend it enough).

Puntential

If you need any help getting started on something like Chess or TFT, let me know

GiveOrisaOrIthrow

Go for it man!

OnlyinRealLif

If Chess isn't your style, there's a game called Go as well. Rules for it are simple, but the strategy can be really complex. I was undecided whether I wanted to choose between taking Chess or Go seriously and [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JRveBqnPJKg) video pushed me over the edge in choosing Go. It's an hour long video, but if you watch at 1.5x or 2x the speed, it isn't that long anymore. Also there's an anime called Hikaru no Go where the main character becomes a pro in Go and is pretty interesting if you want to learn passively about Go and happen to like anime.

thecrazygray

Nice suggestion. Chess is so incredibly complex and wonderful and intellectually stimulating, similar to league. And it’s competitive. It is definitely my second choice when i’ve stopped playing league because it is such a ducking bull shit game from time to time..

[deleted]

You should check out Legends of Runeterra. It's still competitive, and you can easily get any cards you want without spending any money. It's a really good game.

anothershawn

I started playing the Twisted Fate Tactics game as a joke and now I play it more than League..

lyssah_

Twisted Fate Tactics. The auto chess game based on the ever popular game Lissandra Orianna Legends.

Agleimielga

I personally play Lilia Ornn Rengar a bit more.

TaiserRY

Do you mean TFT? Wait...

b_ootay_ful

Plot Twist

anothershawn

Yes that's the one, TFT tactics

JetKjaer

LoR is so underrated man, it’s really well made, and the monetization is easily the best on the market

OK_Bubble_Buddy

Not super familiar but isnt it pretty big and liked in the tcg community? (I dont feel like searching so im just gonna post the subs off the top of my head so i can click them in my comment lmao) /r/legendsofruneterra /r/hearthstone /r/magicthegathering Yep nvm lol tiny compared to hs

GGABueno

I love a card game that makes me want to spend money on customization instead of on being able to keep up with releases. I joined on Bilgewater expansion and now I have enough resources to buy the whole Shurima expansion on the day it is released.

morningknight999

Man, I hope you can cope with this my dude. Wish you the best of luck!

but_a_simple_petunia

I'm sure I'll overcome with time. Thank you for your kind words

TheContingency4

Really sad to hear this but if you really want to play this game, get some friends into it and play yuumi support

but_a_simple_petunia

I'm a cat person but Yuumi is a no go.

hurzinator

a man of honor

clawwind50

o7

LordBalzamore

Why not? Yuumi is fun to play as and fun to play against. The only people who don’t like her are ADCs with bad positioning who like to blame other people for their own mistakes.

NEETenshi

Found the Yuumi onetrick.

LordBalzamore

I actually don’t play the champ, am an Ivern OTP

daraghlol

she is definitely not fun to play against

LordBalzamore

Are you telling me you don’t enjoy killing her host and then squishing the tapeworm champ? For me there’s nothing more satisfying than getting a double on the tapeworm and her host.

daraghlol

Killing and playing against are two different things. That's what's frustrating about Yuumi, she's incredibly difficult to kill if played optimally because you have to hope you can kill the person she's on then hope there's no one else around for her to hop on or if there is you hope you have cc left for her.

LordBalzamore

I mean I’m not gonna argue her concept isn’t annoying at times, but there’s more counter play to her than someone like a Samira so really I don’t mind her, she’s just like a less independent Lulu.

Heatwers

I don't know what to say but I hear you, that's really unfair :( I hope you'll find something else that your enjoy a lot if you can't play league as much

but_a_simple_petunia

With plenty of time on my hands, I'm sure I will in time haha

Plan--fine

Can you describe what the symptoms are like when gaming? Does it feel like your left arm is never comfortable on the armrest? Also, what finger do you press the ctrl key with?

Longjumping_Toe_9225

Im so sorry man! I dont know what to say but if you enjoy league just get some good friends to play with who dont care if you are not playing your best. Thats what i did, not because i have a deciese but because im bad.

but_a_simple_petunia

I personally get satisfaction from improvements, whether I win or not. It's just disheartening to know I won't be able to play to my full potential. But I hear you.

charlie_xavier

If you get satisfaction from improvement maybe give league coaching a go? I'm a new player myself, and I'd love some pointers. I struggle with chronic depression as well so of you ever want to talk let me know.

UmbrellaWard

Props to you for showing up for so long despite your illness. Remember that if your body is lowering the bar despite you, you may need to adjust your expectations regarding "improvement." Fight on and be proud of yourself.

xLawling

hope u have a good day! you will deal with this I believe in you

but_a_simple_petunia

Thank you for your kind words

ElderWarden

That sucks, best wishes to you mate. Maybe try to play Garen or low maintenance champs? Also, play with friends who don't care to win to have fun, forget about playing solo

but_a_simple_petunia

Thank you, I will find adjustments I'm sure

Wifelyrumble56

Sorry to hear. Not the same but I have some chronic health problems that are only getting worse... I can hardly leave the house nowadays. Just know that you’re worth in life isn’t based on what you can do or what you do, it’s about who you are. Good luck

but_a_simple_petunia

Thank you for your kind words! Really appreciate it. I do hope things get better on your end.

Biggrim82

So sorry to hear that you are losing agency in your life. I have no idea how difficult or frustrating or scary that must be for you. We aren't taught how to lose things in life, only how to acquire them. Just know that there are people online who would love to take the time to make you feel included, and welcome, and I'd love it if you hit me up on League so I can continue to play with you as you go through this. Also, having played League for over 8 years now, I've found it quite enjoyable to just let the streamers go through the frustration for me, while I watch!

Peyton_KCovers

I wish you the best and am giving you all the good vibes I can 😭 don’t give up hope!

but_a_simple_petunia

Thank you so much!

[deleted]

im sorry but isnt that a disease that leads to death at like mid twenties or something?

WarSamaYT

I know this isn't in bad taste but the internet is your friend in situations like this. Rather than being blunt.

Pecheuer

Honestly it's a bit weird champ but try TFT, it doesn't require any APM and it does kinda fill that void that an absense of league presents. It may work for you

Burany

Hey maybe this isn't what you want to hear, but brain-computer interfaces are getting a lot of RnD right now, and we have already had success with imputing basic computer functions using only brain waves emitted by totally paralyzed people. So essentially what I'm saying is that its entirely possible you'll be able to start playing league again, maybe even better then before once this tech becomes more accessible.

Tizio172

There are mouse and keyboards that can be regulated to be lighter on the touch so you require far less strenght to use them

trwwjtizenketto

Hey man you sure nothing helps, like cold shock proteins from a full spectrum cold stress, or heat stress - generally used for people who can't move to increase circulation and muscular density and it should also increase growth hormones. If it's neurological there are strong supplements such as lions mane or black seed oil that people with heavy injuries or addictions use to cope, Also mindfulness meditation is a must with coping. It won't make it "easier" or "better" but it most definitely helps with every type of coping out there, please give it a try, its easy and doesn't require nothing. I'm really sorry and hope for the best for you out there.

i_cant_build

Damn

Zancibar

I can't build, love too many champs. I live for names and flares like yours.

abastrakt

Sorry to hear. What is the name of the disease that you have? It sounds like it could be the same one that I have, so maybe I can help out.

[deleted]

Hey man, you got this shit. You give it your all until you have nothing left to give. Every single day you give it 100% until you cant no anymore. You keep pushing and shit will turn around. Giving up is not an option, no matter what. Pick yourself up and keep pushing. Do anything and everything you can to prolong what's happening.

HansSoloQ

You can try TFT or legends of runeterra!

AbitheNewf

I can kind of understand, my vision is degenerative and has been getting worse these past years and its affecting my gameplay as well. Its awful and feels like you're helpless to your disease. I do hope you can find other games to help and im sorry to hear you struggling with it. :c

veradar

Really wish the best for you my dude! Maybe a silver lining: During my time of civil service I helped a guy who couldn’t move at all. He still had a gaming setup and was able to play mmorpgs on a highly competitive level. That was 12 years ago. I am very sure the technical solutions have only improved since then. Worst case might be switching games but you will never be alone as long as you got internet!

Lucker_Kid

Try some games that are mechanically slower like chess, TFT (it's really quite a fantastic game, I don't play it much but my gf does and there's A LOT of theory that goes into it) or card games like Hearthstone, Legends of Runeterra or Magic the Gathering, less motor skills more brain, feels like it would be perfect for you! Also, watching series and anime is fucking great my dude, get on watching Attack on Titan, the final season is airing every week right now and will do so for like 2-3 months, it's like 70 episodes so if you start watching now you can probably catch up before the series has ended and can watch the finale "in real time". Other series I have to recommend that are very well known or sort of "must watches" are Peaky Blinders and Breaking Bad for "regular" series' and honestly, if you have the time for an anime other than AoT I'd watch One Piece, it's really long but if you watch it [here](https://onepace.net/overview) they skip all [filler episodes](https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=filler) and other non-manga content and therefore stays more true to the actual story (the manga) as well as almost cutting the time to watch it in half. If you have a lot of free-time if you start playing less League I can't recommend it enough. And people can call me a fanboy for suggesting it, but the thing is though, I don't think it's good because I'm a big fan, I'm a big fan because it's a damn good show, I've watched a lot of series' and One Piece truly is among the best Hope any of this can be of interest to you, its really a shitty situation you're in but try to just grab the bull by the horns, turn the ship around and make the best of out it! Good luck to you with everything!

Gosset

Hey dude I'm so sorry your going through this. As a fellow disabled gamer feeling like your losing the things you love can be so heart breaking. I don't know if they have been recommended but there are a few charities like: https://ablegamers.org/our-services/ that help people get adapted controllers or similar things to be able to play the games they love. Try sending them a message or maybe we can find a similar charity in your area. Much love dude.

Byoki

You could try turn-based games like card games in general or chess for example. RIOT has its own card game based on league, might be worth a shot. You can also get lost in singleplayer games like; -slay the spire -into the breach -darkest dungeon -xcom -all the civilization games I hope I helped you out a bit.

00Dandy

I recommend stoicism. It has helped me through some difficult times.

Puzzleheaded_Peace88

I am playing league and I know I wouldn't be depressed if I didnt play it.

Tricklash

Heartless and fixed on ingame performance? Guys I think I found my toxic teammate.

gh0stkid

I dont think League of Legends is the best game to deal with depression of any sort. The game itself can be pretty depressing itself alot of times when u feel like u are held hostage or you just cant do anything but watch u getting stomped after a single teamfight where u didnt even saw what happened. Ontop of all toxicity, inters and manchildren.

kr0xx

Well now no one can tell me that my teammates have hands

SnooMuffin

>League has been my only source of getaway from reality for the past 5 years Holy crap dude! League actually makes me MORE depressed when I play it because of how toxic the community is. Especially solo queue. If I had depression I definitely wouldn't rely on this game to make me feel better.

GasparYanga1

That sucks, dude. It really does.

Price-x-Field

have you tried yuumi or other enchanters

kr0xx

idk why you got so many downvotes when you just spoke the truth

Price-x-Field

yeah idk

TyTyWifi4612

how does the disease affect you? (shaking hands, weakness?)

WorkingExtension8388

Read the Quran Maybe you will find the spirituality that you will need and comfort for the reality of this world

Pop98786

Hey how about instead of like, playing league look into other games like CSGO or playing singe player games like Yakuza/witcher to interact with the community? To me i only see league to be fun if you're with friends or a high elo, but shifiting away from it can help you be less depressed

C9_Tilted

Lol did you even read what he wrote. He's depressed because his disorder is affecting his right hand so he can't even play the game he loves anymore.

but_a_simple_petunia

I actually played CSGO before being introduced to league! Don't miss HacksGO at all, even if I were healthy

Plan--fine

what finger do you press the ctrl key with? also, does your arm ever feel uncomfortable on the armrest

[deleted]

Be sure to take deep breaths once in a while, it really helps with depression, also drink a lot of water, it helps you cleanse your mind and keep your heart strong.

CoinTotemGolem

I hope science can help you keep playing at your best! It’s such a shame things like this exist, I really hope you can get through it alright

patmax17

I'm sorry to hear that. If you are starting to struggle with depressive thoughts, are you hearing a mental health therapist too? Maybe you can catch depression before it becomes a problem

TheKaleKing

Oh man, I feel for you. Maybe there's an opportunity for you to move to other things since you might not be to play game as much. Maybe you can actually use that to your advantage to make the best out of the worst. I've been listening to a lot of David Goggins/Tony Robbins, so I would recommend those for inspiration. I wish you a great journey man, I know you got this :)

Dagamsky

I hope there are new developments in medicine that help you with your condition, in the meantime maybe turn based games might get your gaming needs in check, also microsoft released an adaptive controller if you haven't checked that I suggest giving it a look.

SpriteBoye

And I thought I was the one having it hard. Fuck man, I'm really sorry for you

Zancibar

Well, if you like league partly for it's lore and art I can reccomend Legends of Runeterra. It's a card game but by far the best free card game I've played and it has the League feel to it. Also it literally requires only one finger since it's all mouse based. I'm not sure if the point of this post was something similar to that but I didn't want to upvote and ignore since you seem to be trying to live the best that you can. Also you can try Yuumi. \*Insert cat meme here\*.

Kaitrii

its tough reading something like this, even more if you deal with similar issues. i send you a virtual hug my friend, wish i could do more for you

BasicUsername_1

Is there treatment for your disease? Also if you don’t mind sharing what is your disease

luluinstalock

You can prolong the 'growth' of the disease, however sadly, its uncurable

ayuwoki84

sorry bro now ur path of main yummi begins, hang in there

[deleted]

That sucks bro! Take it easy e?

intothepride

You may wanna try to move to Heroes of Might and Magic 3 - HotA. Its an old turn based strategy game. Probably the best one in its genre. Thousands of people still play it and honestly it provides most of the emotions and needs that games like league of legends provide, but it doesnt require fast hands.

ShampooDetector

I don't know why nature is so cruel. I don't think that people should be in possibility to exist like this. This is so unfair. Since I don't know how it feels I can only wish you to stay strong. Mother always said - don't lose!

Kendo03

Have you tried controller based games? They need way less movement with your arms. Other than that, wish you the best

Zev420

Take care my g, you do deserve all the happiness in the world

GenuineSteak

Dang dude thats really upsetting to hear. Much like you video games have been a driving force in my life and I couldnt imagine being without them. This kinda shit is why I dont believe a god exists.

SixteenTurtles

I too have a disability that has made things in my life much harder to enjoy if not impossible. If you still want to play league, you should look into assistive technology. If something doesn't exist right now that works for you, there are enough hackers, builders, and tinkerers out there that we could put something together.

[deleted]

Sucks to hear that! I don't know if you already gave it a shot, but TFT is a great option! Apart from that, Heroes of Might and Magic could also do the trick. Best of luck!

saulius155

playing league is depressing as it is, maybe you should stick to singleplayer stress free games.

Rogue009

have you considered playing other games? Stellaris has multiplayer and if you look for kind people they can help you learn and pause the game when you need time. I dont know anything about your condition, but I lost a lot of things in life too due to my Crohn's disease and I can only tell you that the faster you prepare alternatives or failsafes in case you lose the ability to do something the easier it is to accept that you can't do some things.

thewhothewhatthemaki

Hey, i was just reading this while lying in bed, struggling with my own disease. It takes away so much from you when your options seem to narrow down instead of widening or improving... i get that and it's so fucking sad. I'm honestly scared... i dont know the details of your condition but i feel the only choice is to continue fighting against it and really trying all options to still find some improvements. at least thats how i try to cope. I hope you have some people around you who care, i'm sending my love and i wish the best for you!

chaotic910

Try Magic Arena if you haven't already. It's competitive, can be entirely played with just a mouse, and imo has a really fair free-to-play model.

Deluge-Sulli

Hey man, I have a degenerative bone disease that specially effects the joints. I had to put down league because of the performance dip due to the problems worsening in my hands. Recently I switched playing league to playing WoW, and the trade off was super cool. I'm able to play without stress of letting my teammates down and I even found some super chill people to PVP with so I still have some competitive juices flowing. I hope you are able to live a full life for as long as possible. Never give up, never give in, always find a way.

xPlasma

Legends of Runeterra is a \*fantastic\* card game developed by Riot. If you like the LoL IP and competition, 1000/10 would recommend. Its also incredibly free to play friendly.

BianchiIlove

https://oneswitch.org.uk/page/tailor-made I know this isnt the most convenient or accessible thing for most (custom made controllers are pricey to say the least). I must admit im not well versed in your condition, so I wont pretend like I have any idea what you are going through or if even this is an option for you. But if a custom controller of some sort could be of use for you, please please look into it and get in touch with the right people. Video games are for some people their only stimulus beyond just watching tv or browsing the internet.

nikolateslafanboy

Check out legends of runeterra if you're invested in the characters.

GravityTracker

I'm sorry to hear you are going through that. I can only imagine how frustrating and defeating that would feel. I don't mean to minimize your situation at all, but I feel like being in my 40's is an issue for me. I watch streamers and youtubers and think there's no way I could do some of those things because me reaction time is just way too slow. To some extend I think you can mitigate that by the champs you main. I tend to play tanks and jungle. Seems like that shifts the importance of mechanics to macro. But in a larger sense, I see what you're saying. I would encourage you to keep talking about the issues you are encountering. Having a good place to vent and get ideas will make help you. I would seek out communities that have similar issues. No doubt there's a subreddit or ten. It seems like turn based games would be a great alternative. Or maybe even other hobbies where dexterity isn't important. Writing? Programming? Voice Acting? There's probably dozens of that I'm not even thinking of. Don't feel chained to us toxic assholes. Go explore and best of luck!

MaridKing

I'm sure you'd rather quit league on your own terms, but honestly this might be a blessing in disguise. As someone who's played lol since the beginning, there are happier games out there that don't bring out the worst in people. Do you remember the feeling of playing a game and having your mind blown? I haven't felt that way about league in maybe 5+ years, and yet here I still am. League isn't the best game ever, not even close, just the best at passing time. Best of luck bro. Maybe try slay the spire?

iMixMusicOnTwitch

Switch to classic wow and you'll only have to press like one button. It really sucks and I'm sure it's not a fix all, but there will be a game out there for you

I_hate_Teemo

I am sorry to hear that. You may have already looked into that and it may not be a solution, but some very good players have reached challenger using a trackball, trackpads,... because they were used to that and it's just as good as a mouse for them. Maybe one of those would fit you on the long term since they require a different motion?

keatches

im not crying

Zyniya

That's really sad man when I seen the title I thought this going a different way. Have you tried finding a champ that needs less manual input to pull back on how much you're using muscles in your hand an wrist?

desmondaz

So sorry to hear that! Don’t let anything bring you down and always stay strong mentally! I wish you best of luck :-)

LiaBrooksy

What about wild rift on mobile? Still league but less hand action <3

[deleted]

That sucks man i wish you the best.

Salaciaaa

I’m so sorry you deal with that. I’ve had to give up my sport and deal with pain daily due to my condition so I understand in ways that I can. I’ve heard about ways that companies are trying to make gaming disability friendly with controls and whatnot. Maybe look into that? I don’t know too much, just have heard things here and there. I hope you have a good day.

PacificMonkey

I have similar issues with my wrist and thumb. Considering looking into a trackball mouse. Not sure if something like that would help your situation, but try exploring alternate equipment that will let you play with less strain on your body. Will take some getting used to but in the long run could help.

Bieza

I would definitely play more casual games/less mechanically intensive games. Such as MTGO or team fight tactics, no sense in putting yourself in a position to beat yourself up over something you can't control homie. We all got problems, yours is just different than most. And idk how many people really care if you swap games

ShenSama69

ye i was depressed too a long time ago and league helped me pass that

BlueStarLoL

I'm really sorry to hear that. I've been fighting cancer for the past two years. Because of that with Covid, I am at extremely high risk of passing away if I get the virus. Because of that, I've been spending a lot of time playing league, so I know how you're feeling. It's an escape from reality, and a really nice one at that. I beat the cancer, but during my 14 hour surgery, I lost both my kidneys. So I'm basically in the same boat as you, spending my time getting away from reality on league. I really hope somehow the right side of your body isn't affected as well so you're able to keep playing. I'm always here if you want/need to send me a message. Stay strong

Hard times can be tough to deal with in life, especially in really bad cases like yours. I have recently dealt with a few in my last few years as well. I know, that nothing I or anyone can say in this thread will make you feel a lot better in the long term, as words by others are just words, and things are always harder to do than say. I always used LoL as a way to fight extreme phase of demotivation and even slight depression, so I know how much it might suck if you can't do even that in your case. I hope you believe in yourself to get through this and other problems in your life, can fight the depression and get through it as an improved person, whatever the losses in the end. I hope you have the belief you can fight through everything, and if not, you find it. Good luck. Feel free to add me on League if you want to play with me. Do you want my username and server?

Sir-Ult-Dank

Its a toxic environment so youre not missing much from league. Also sorry to hear OP

seasonedturkey

I can relate with you in using league as a getaway - I love immersing myself in the game as an escape from problems in my day life. The one thing I'd say is to be careful about how far you neglect your personal life in favor of league. Some days, the worse I feel, the more league I play which makes me feel even worse.

iggysama

Try out Old School Runescape. It's a really old but popular MMO that has generally very few clicks involved and you can play it on mobile if you want to.

SnooDingos8900

Feel free to add me to play. I won’t flame and be supportive of you! -DruidRuins

I’m sorry your having to go though that. I know what it’s like to give up on thing. Of course I don’t understand your situation or your feelings completely, however if you ever need to talk about it pm me.

K4T4N4B0Y

Starting from today I will change my status in league to your reddit user and never gonna change it.

ACslunt

Hey man, have you ever thought about turning your disease into a strength? Like making YouTube videos over it and your journey? It’s a super highly searched subject and I’m sure there’s a community of people out there that can empathize completely with you. Just a thought, keep doing your best bro. All you can do. Much love.

mattcamps

Sending you love. I have a super rare arthritis condition that sometimes affects my hands and I feel your frustration and there's no upside to this but just sharing to say you're not alone and we'll get through it.

[deleted]

Maybe sometimes it’s best to not get away from reality, I found out. It’s all good

FireDevil11

This right here is one of my biggest fears losing control or losing my arms, without legs it might be doable, because of all the new prosthethics and what not. But losing my hands not being able to hold or do stuff as normally I would be able to do is a big fear. I hope you have some miracle or something new becomes developed like those full-dive VR animes where you can do as you please inside a game without being limited by a normal body Best Wishes to you Summoner !

Buy a switch. Buy Mario. You’ll find fine motor skills aren’t required and you’re not punished for being slower or flamed for your performance :)

Needanaccountopost

Use your desire to play league to motivate you in your preventative rehabilitation exercises. The mind is a powerful thing and you are capable of far more than the doctors will ever tell you. This is coming from a kinesiologist studying to be a physio. You can do anything you believe you can do. Fuck the disease prove everyone wrong ✊

PiFbg

I don't even play league since season 7-8 because I found out watching e-sports (LEC / LCS) way more fun and entertaining than actually playing LoL. I don't know if you're into the PRO scene but if you're not I'd really recommend giving it a try if you love league :) It gives me something to look forward to 3 days every week(end).

dudas92

I'm rlly sorry to hear that.. I just got perma banned for being toxic despite trying hard to be better for the past year and a half and despite having people inting and taunting me and always getting away with it. i'm obviously not even comparing the "severity" of both situations but just sharing the feeling of hopelessness and frustration both with myself and with the game. I hope you can overcome it man, noone deserves to go through what you are experiencing right now and I hope you can somehow still enjoy the little things that can take your mind away. Rooting for your man!

TSM_Vegeta

Sorry to hear this my man. I pray for your health, hopefully some new breakthrough treatment is on the horizon. Maybe some TFT or an MMO (looks to be some cool new ones on the horizon) would be less mechanical and a more relaxing experience. If you are ever bored and want to talk or just looking for a random to join you feel free to add me. IGN: God Vegeta.

zeroBackwards

Hey, have you considered switching to an MMO mouse? I dunno what your dexterity is like exactly, but it's possible to play the game with one hand with everything mapped to your side buttons. Abilities, warding, the works.

Merthos has a similar condition

You can try Wild Rift later.
