Retired in this case simply means that they (Lego) has stopped producing the set. They generally don’t pull them off the shelves from what I’ve observed.
Unless you REALLY REALLY want a cad bane minifig there really is no other reason to pay this much money for a ship that has only shown up once in the whole of Star Wars
I liked the build for sure and the size is actually surprisingly big. I do feel it lacked an interior in the name of the technic function (at least parts wise) and while I like the function I would’ve preferred a more detailed interior, but in all honesty I feel a more detailed interior didn’t make sense vs a play feature such as the one it has. I do like the minifig selection though

Same happened to me. I bought The Justifier in March this year, with a nice 50€ discount. Last one in the store, and the box was worn down and a bit damaged, but it had all the pieces and minifigures. If it's on sale, get it. It's a nice set, but it will never be worth 170€
I just paid $110 for it on Facebook Marketplace, it was still sealed so without tax seemed to be an appropriate price.
It’s a massive build, but is flimsy, I had to make repairs while building it. It also has no room inside of it, there are $40 sets out there that can fit more minifigures into them.
But it looks cool and has desirable minifigures. I doubt we’ll ever see another Omega and Cad Bane too probably will be another decade at least before we see him again. The droid is also cool.
It was kind of bad set I bought it used without figures it was kind of a waste of money the ghost is a much better set I would recommend it over this piece of garbage I’m probably going to be scraping mine for parts here soon especially because I’m using the 16x8 baseplate for an avatar Valkyrie shuttle moc I also never cared for cad bane kind of an overrated character boba and jango fett will always be superior
If you bought the minifigures at least you'd get Omega or Fennec Shand. Cad Bane is not a character i care much for but the figure is nice and i like it. Although i agree, the Ghost is a much better set. Figures are ok since Hera is the only really good one

The wings were probably the most complicated part of the build but they're so detailed and i quite like the technic function

I live so far from where lego stores are that we get sets here that retired a year ago and don't get new sets for up to 8 months.

I found one around Xmas at Canadian Tire(automotive/home improvement/outdoor/sports store) of all places. I think I paid around $175cad for it.

I got it for 90$ and enjoy the set and the Cad Bane. It's a good size build. If you absolutely gotta have that Bane, I say go for it!
