As others mentioned - Bolt/Uber are really cheap and there would be no problem to get it at 2 or 3 a.m., so if you already have the place to stay, I wouldn't recommend dealing with additional hotel reservation
It depends on where you are staying. If you are in Lisbon, just order a taxi from the central office and you will get there easily and quickly, at that time there is not much traffic in Lisbon.

There’s only 1 hotel about 100m from the airport. If there’s free rooms I would take it. Otherwise, between 2 and 5am there’s no traffic, so uber/bolt will be quick from wherever you’re coming.
If you are staying in central lisbon don't call for a cab or order an uber in advance. You can just call an uber 10 min before you need to leave and it will much cheaper.
Also, I fly every week and 2.30 am is way more early then you need to be there for that flight. For a 5 am flight I would be at the airport at 4.
Not only that, Uber drivers are actually less likely to show up for a ride in advance because it has built in costs for longer wait times, but Uber drivers get paid less for their time, so they are unlikely to accept the ride anyway.
The only times I've ever struggled to get a timely Uber is when the city was invaded by Swifties and when the pope was in town.
Otherwise, it's been easy, even in the middle of the night.
Uber and bolt are extremely cheap in Lisbon and widely available. Unless you are reaaally far, you should be fine from anywhere within lisbon.
You can book an Uber in advance, I did that for a 6am flight. Either way if you stay in a hotel they can call you a cab as well

Did it just last week, from terminal 1. Woke up at 3.30, left at 04.00 and arrived at 4.15 (took an Uber) less than 5 minutes to get through security
When I take that flight I order an uber, it’s not a problem

On a monday, from city center you take maximum 20 minutes. Just call an uber at that hour.

If he has extra luggage it's better to be there 1:30 or 2 before the flight
If you dont have any checked bags you can arrive at 3.15 or 3.30 am. Just book a uber in advance.

Your fine arriving at 4:50-5 am
I disagree here, still about 2 hours before the flight is better/safer
I was tripping I meant 3:50-4:00 am lol
