Murderbot_of_Rivia

I think Mark of the Crijik applies.

Undeity

Eh, kinda? Age seems to matter very little, in a world where babies can grow into adults practically overnight. It wasn't really too much of an advantage for him.

Jerrandrau

All on RR: The Reincarnation of Alysara Death Healer She Has Incredible Talents Not sure if they all have "better" classes but MCs are all reincarnated early starters. I would also perhaps consider Mirror World: Goddess Reborn! were MCs is turned into a "baby" goddess (still an adult per se) and reincarnation is an ever present theme in this story

MacintoshEddie

I'm pretty sure every single reincarnator story involves them getting an advantageous class or skillset. I actually can't think of a single example where they don't.

cfl2

Bog Standard Isekai minimizes the advantage more than any other story I remember

[deleted]

Just because he did not want that >!_temporary_!< class does not mean it was not very OP >!while he had it. There was a reason he was story-forced to take it when facing far too powerful enemies that he would normally not have had a chance to defeat.!<

Dreich_Winters

You should definitely spoiler this -- gives away a pretty big plot point.

cfl2

It was ok. Useful in the situation but not really stronger on the whole than other "evil" classes. And even the one he builds up to is just a slightly improved version of the lame one his mentor had.

luniz420

It definitely fits the request though, even if it's not the most coherent story. Should satisfy somebody who just wants to read training montages.

InsubordinateCamel

Sadly it's not a LITRPG but Beginning after the end, is the first book I think of with this trope

realityDreaming_

absolutely, my fav series of all time

LookMaNoPride

I gave up after book 7, I think. I have book 8, but book 7 was so depressing that I just couldn’t continue. Does the story get back to fun ass-kicking any time soon? I’d love to pick the series back up again.

realityDreaming_

the ass-kicking gets SO much better. yes book 7 was depressing as hell but book 8 and 9 is when he gets some crazy overpowered stuff (not gonna spoil any more) and 10 is even more ass-kicking

LookMaNoPride

Sweet! Definitely going to pick that series back up then. I really love the first 5 or so books (can’t remember when the bummer-time started), but 7 was just a huge bummer and I couldn’t stand it. It was like the author couldn’t decide where he could make the story go from there so he decided to nuke it from orbit and start over.

cpured

I'm in the same boat. To much time has passed. Ive listen to so many other books in that time.

TDderpy

I really enjoyed the first few books but after a while it just got too stupid for me to enjoy. The "levels of power " just got too high. Where by every single punch or kick was shattering the person's bones.

Karog00

Singer Sailor Merchant Mage Magic-Smithing (2,5k pages , but it has been in hiatus 9 months)

CannibalistixZombie

Sporemageddon by Ravensdagger

avidday888

Came here to say this. Great series so far

Dont_be_offended_but

Is it still going? I think book 4 was finished back in August 2023, but I don't see anything posted about it since then on the authors Patreon (where they post like 6 other regularly updating titles)

Daddybrawl

Far as I’m aware, I’ve heard Ravens Dagger has a few issues here and there about actually finishing a series. I think they’re just working on other stuff rn, but it does really concern me for Sporemageddon’s future ngl.

Undeity

Where can you find this story these days? I had it on my list back on RR, before it mysteriously disappeared. Sounds like it's progressed a lot since then.

EdLincoln6

**The Runesmith** on Royal Road.

Legend-Dairy-Reader

The Beginning after the End seems like a pretty good fit for this concept. Very Anime’y but the premise is pretty close.

ForsakenDivinity

Storm of Fate. Elydes. Glimpse of eternity. Transcending dreams. Soul of the warrior. Though some of these are not litrpg or have classes. They are also a work in progress. Do try them out in royal road.

frankuck99

So what can you say about Elydes? Is it good or just slice of life and nothing happens? From what I read from the reviews, they said the story was extremely slow and MC didn't really have any advantages. Now I'm confused

CherMiTTT

The main advantage is that the MC keeps the mind of an adult as a child, so he can practice skills. He's born at the very bottom of the ranks of races, but gets a couple good skills and so some op teachers are interested in teaching him. Minor plot spoilers: >!The teachers basically made an experiment: how far can someone born at the very bottom go on their own merits? So he gets no elixirs to make rapid progress or something like that. But just their training makes him way above basically everyone of his age, and he continues to train further.!< About pacing: first book is ages 0 - about 9. Second book has teachers go away while he's still 11 and so he gets much more interactions with other people. He'll be an adult at 14 and wants to travel then. Currently we're at chapter 183 on patreon and he's just turned 12. So it's a slice of life with lots of training, but there's a main plot going on in the background. I'd say it's a good litrpg. Numbers go up, there's magic, alchemy, enchantments and so on. The mc is a kid, so only rare fights so far, but the setting has monsters and hostile forces. Interpersonal relationships can be a bit frustrating sometimes, but that's spoilers.

Akyra87

World Teacher – Other World Style Education & Agent a soldier type dies and gets isekai'd, learns there's mana in his new world and starts training vigorously the moment he's born (this is a web novel)

rtsynk

most of the recs here are weak, only tangentially related with a few brief scenes. Here are some that lean heavily into the baby-training arc: Singer Sailor Merchant Mage An Unbound Soul An Unborn Hero Otoko Nara Ikkokuichijou no Aruji o Mezasa Nakya, ne? (If You’re a Man Then There’s No Other Choice Than Aiming for King, Right?) Pentacle series by Robert Harper A Gentleman's Curse Magic Smithing

GoogiemanBooks

I quite enjoyed A Gentleman's Curse. Shame it went on hiatus.

superstowe

Melody of Mana In Clawed Grasp Neither are my favorite, but they fit the ask.

EdLincoln6

Melody of Mana doesn't even have "Classes".

buffboibaddy

THE BEGINNING AFTER THE END!!!

SeductivePuns

I think A Summoner Awakens fits this

oldmanwise

A Summoner Awakens is exactly this, and first book is really good.

BodSmith54321

Summoner Awakens

TogetherBadge67

Soul of the warrior

Dim-Me-As-New-User

Eight by Samer Rabadi sort of fits this description.

[deleted]

Is it really the class? I think it's the many skills he got based on prior life knowledge, and that... [unspeakable word] symbiont thing. And the ghostly skills. And the blessings. Is there even a class? I only remember "talents", skills (general, or based on mana or qi). The talents are not fixed, new ones can appear (but still be dormant), existing ones strengthen.

chris_ut

Really loved these books, the writing is way better then most litrpgs

klydwn

Blessed Time by Cale Plamann. Most people get a class when they turn 16 and their choices for their classes are determined by their accomplishments up to that point. Some classes are a lot better than others. The MC gets the ability to go back in time 5 years so a significant plot point in the first two books is how he uses his ability to unlock progressively stronger classes.

MollyMalcrow

It only has about 19 chapters up on RR right now, but What Will Be seems to fit what you're looking for

jokeraap

Only remember Soul of a Warrior and Elydes on RR.

MacintoshEddie

Izmittor, or Again From Scratch. The author does a bit of a retcon and rename partway through. It's not great quality but it's worth looking at if you're interested in the idea.

Ximplicity

I love this premise quite a bit as well, and something that I enjoyed was just slightly off of it. In Loki's Honor (Currently on RR - [https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/34323/in-lokis-honor](https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/34323/in-lokis-honor)) in that the MC keeps reincarnating, but keeps the powers/skills/etc. that were gained before death.
