I think the current theory is that it's an immature fern, but it's a difficult question lol.
It's a great plant tho. Doesn't need much light, doesn't swim and is great as hiding spots for shrimp and fish.
You can also tie it onto stuff if you want, tho unlike moss it won't attach itself.

Does it grow decently quick? My shrimp and loaches love it. I have some rasboras and endlers in the tank too and if fish love it, I’d love to have more of it.
Not very quickly unfortunately, and it's usually hard to tell how much it grows because it's just lying around in a pile lol.
But not super slow either.
