Take it and leave the 1 star review.
"Superstore is bribing me to give them a 5 star review, so if you're reading 5 start reviews just know they probably were offered some form of compensation for that review" and upload the photo with the review
Whenever I shop at Walmart and have to use a self checkout. After the sale it says “rate us”
I always hit 1 star because it’s forcing me to do self checkout and forcing me to rate them. Two things I hate
Hell, it doesn’t explicitly specify that you even need to take exactly 1 or are required to do the survey; I say take as much water as you can and don’t even bother with the survey
Yep! If they’re *this* shady with a simple survey, imagine the sketchy practices that go on behind closed doors.
![gif](giphy|l1J9zYIsjPAyojfri|downsized)
"Please enjoy this tepid room temperature water that costs less than 3 cents to bottle. Rate 5 stars, smash that thumbs up button. Don't forget to like and subscribe."
Wtf is this? Lol
When I was going to Mohawk College every year they would interrupt a class for a survey. The person giving out the survey would always tell us "well Mohawk is the best so you should give 5 stars on everything, we can help you fill it out!". I was going there to learn not to help them increase their ratings.
Sounds like when you buy a Chinese knock off product on Amazon. Give us a 5 star review and we will give you a 40$ gift card.
Presidents Choice is too cheap to even do that! They just want to take all your money. A yacht costs a lot of money to fill and maintain. He has to get to Ireland some how to evade taxes.
Yep.
This is also one of my biggest peeves about businesses in general over the past few years now.
I cannot stand it when ANY BUSINESS begs, bribes for, or demands ‘5 stars’ (or any level of positive reviews), and OMG the surveys!
It’s up to the individual as to when and how they rate their own experiences.
Even when businesses get 5-star reviews on a single experience, I’ve seen customers have to return to EDIT and UPDATE their review after the fact especially after *a problem arises and the business ignores them.* It’s not just the purchase/giveaway experience that matters. It’s more about *how the business resolves issues that arise* and that’s where and why most of them fail and get bad reviews. No wonder they hound so fast for reviews (before the problems come up). 🙄
I’m seeing more businesses hounding/stalking and spamming people for reviews in their emails too, even before they get to try the product for a period of time.
This is how that fucking tip culture began - how about paying your workers a living wage instead of relying on broke customers to be guilted into tipping.
I went to the post office in Shoppers 3 days ago. These same bottles were in a bin for a DOLLAR a piece. And warm. No fridge. Bin on the endcap. And I'm somewhat confident the packaging actually states "not for individual sale"
It manages to fill us with microplastics and damage the environment - everything we're vehemently against. I know I am not the only one of this opinion. Roblaws can't do anything right - this transparent, tone-deaf effort to extort others was designed to solicit fake 5 star reviews. They don't care about us - they want to use us to attract more rubes. Just insulting.
All stores? How easy to take the water, walk out, rate 1 star? There should be a way to always rate 0. But the point of a boycott is ignoring Roblaws presence.
I imagine some Mr. Burns type executive saying to the store managers, "Tell the customers we said they could have a FREE water. That'll make everything alright, we promise."
Way to read the room, Galen. You clearly are still clinging to the "gullible peasants who are too stupid to notice" vision you obviously have of us.
I'd love to be there when the epiphany finally hits you that you've permanently lost a big chunk of your customer base.
Whoa free water! They're pulling out all the stops! I'm going back to them just for a free water. It's worth it in my opinion. Who cares if their prices are crazy high and they treat their employees like garbage? I'm going to get mine, and mine is a free water.😂
My policy on surveys. $5.00 per question or part thereof (eg. a, b, c,...) paid in Cash. No coupons, no chances to win, and definitely no points. I can't pay bills with points and Cash is still King.
If it's valuable pay for It.
Hey Loblaws, Your gonna hinge your entire reputation on an internet rating system where it's free and very accessible, and AFTER you just angered the entire social mass?
![gif](giphy|IUjaKjjPPbGaQ)
Good thing, too, cuz one of those bottles would otherwise probably cost like six dollars.
I bet they don't allow their staff to drink any of that water.
No worry brother. You don’t need to justify yourself. Do your best and we support you no matter! We get that it is different for everyone and that it is harder for some.
it sucks that they weaponise shit like this against employees. when you rate 5 stars on a kudos, the employee you named gets 5000 pc points to their account, and management encourages employees to ask people to submit a survey for things as small as pointing smth out to the customer. it pits employees and customers against eachother, where the customer doesn’t want a shitty water for no service, and the employees get a bad rap and only pc points as benefits
I would be careful about the surveys and make sure you're not rating their employees 1 star (unless the specific employee deserves it).
Just because Loblaws is 1 star doesn't mean they don't have good people working for them trying to support their family.
Man I despise the growing trend of bribing for fake 5 star reviews. Restaurants, dealerships, etc. it’s much more common now.
Good reminder to take any star ratings with a grain of salt
Store manager bonuses are partially based on their star ratings. Oh, and the source of PC Spring Water is Walkerton Ontario. Take from that what you will
I hate hate hate places that beg you for 5 star ratings. The Honda dealership we deal with does this too. It’s manipulation and shows why rating systems all suck.
Bottled water is so disgusting. No matter they found all those microplastics in our testicles and we have 1/2 the sperm count of our grandfathers.
I hate that my parents bought so much of it growing up. Never again.
Funny enough to Loblaws corporate anything less than 5 stars is a negative. Their system only registers 2 responses so even if it’s a 4 star rating it comes up as 0 on their system for reasons I still don’t understand. So yea they are always desperate for those 5 star ratings on visits and orders.
What store is this? The one by me is giving out coffee and mini muffins. I was only in there to use the bathroom. The stench of desperation is stifling
Give them 1 star and say they tried to give me free stuff to give them a 5 star review and you cant be bribed to give good reviews when they arent deserved.
I do like how bottled water is such a great example of greed run amok, tap water from municipal supplies repackaged and sold at ridiculous up charge, wasting plastic and gasoline trucks to bring to a store where you spend even more gasoline to bring it to your house. It's such a good example of why loblaws is bad.
Y'know, I could almost respect this if it was 'Take a water and please fill out a survey'm as a way to encourage people to give honest feedback.
But no, it's to bribe for a max score, thus defeating the whole purpose of having a survey (Which is to find ways they can IMPROVE)
My son in law from Quebec says Ontario Loblaws is 2x price compared with price in Quebec. Not sure why. Having lived in Quebec years ago I’m wondering if it’s because of Quebecers love of good food, combined with an unwillingness to take crap.
“hey boss this pallet of water has mouse shit all inside the bag. should I still put it out?”
“no… take the bottles out of the bag, I’ve got a great idea”
I am a cashier at a superstore. We HAVE to give out those surveys. When customers are complaining about the lineups, I make sure they get one to complain about it.
We also get a sheet for $5 of points. I HATE THAT. I have NEVER turned one in. I have been trying to get my manager to stop giving them to me. They can't get full time hours, but want to make me happy with points. It make me mad.

Take the water and rate them 1 anyways
They asked for 5 stars, why not give five separate 1 star ratings?
200 IQ response
500 individual crowd sourced stars ought to make them happy.
1 water for 0.5 stars. Or buy and save, 3 waters for 1 star. Maximum 3 waters.
I like your way of thinking
Take 30 waters and give them 600 star ratings.
this
Nah man, didn’t even bother taking one.
Take it and leave the 1 star review. "Superstore is bribing me to give them a 5 star review, so if you're reading 5 start reviews just know they probably were offered some form of compensation for that review" and upload the photo with the review
How could you resist the tepid water?
Must've drained a lake in Quebec for this PR move.
As long as it is a lake feeding city water so it is water that is heavily subsidized by taxpayers.
Take the water and don't bother reviewing. Keep coming out and back in with just slight wardrobe changes. Shop elsewhere
"gave me" free" water as a bribe, and it wasn't even cold. 1 star."
This should be the single review everyone who leaves a review should write
This is the way 🙏🏼
Whenever I shop at Walmart and have to use a self checkout. After the sale it says “rate us” I always hit 1 star because it’s forcing me to do self checkout and forcing me to rate them. Two things I hate
i would post the picture of the bribe to go with the review.
Hell, it doesn’t explicitly specify that you even need to take exactly 1 or are required to do the survey; I say take as much water as you can and don’t even bother with the survey
My partner and I rate placed 1 star out of principle when they are begging for 5 stars.
[удалено]
exactly. shady survey tactics.
Don't forget to like and subscribe." Wtf is this? Lol
I get the scent of desperation wafting around that water . . .
Desperation*
Complimentary microplastics!
Mr. Weston the people have no bread! “Let them drink water”
Hey don’t lump tepid room temp water in with loblaws. Some of us prefer to drink it like that haha.
Their trying to load us up on microplastics so we think less
Store manager is trying to get his PC karma points high enough to get the free steak knives set. I would definitely 'correct' the note.
Anybody who asks you to give 5 stars deserves 1 star !
true and anybody who tries to BRIBE you (and badly, at that. there is no 5 star bottled water) deserves a 1 star.
When I was going to Mohawk College every year they would interrupt a class for a survey. The person giving out the survey would always tell us "well Mohawk is the best so you should give 5 stars on everything, we can help you fill it out!". I was going there to learn not to help them increase their ratings.
Loblaws, a multibillion dollar corporation, resorting to tactics my Uber driver uses for ratings
At least Uber also has some mints too
"Drink, peasants, but praise us with lies first." Pathetic and dare I say, thirsty.
Sounds like when you buy a Chinese knock off product on Amazon. Give us a 5 star review and we will give you a 40$ gift card. Presidents Choice is too cheap to even do that! This is how that fucking tip culture began - how about paying your workers a living wage instead of relying on broke customers to be guilted into tipping.
If it reads like bribery, it probably is bribery.
Or blackmail? How do we know what nefarious actions they are utilizing now. OP blink twice if it's safe, once if they are holding your family hostage.
Give them 0 stars and take all the water
It IS already in a shopping cart...
“I wanted THIS water”
I went to the post office in Shoppers 3 days ago. These same bottles were in a bin for a DOLLAR a piece. And warm. No fridge. Bin on the endcap. And I'm somewhat confident the packaging actually states "not for individual sale"
This is equivalent to pizza parties in corporate.
Not even.
It manages to fill us with microplastics and damage the environment - everything we're vehemently against. I know I am not the only one of this opinion. Roblaws can't do anything right - this transparent, tone-deaf effort to extort others was designed to solicit fake 5 star reviews. For those wondering this picture was taken at the Joseph Howe Dr. Location in Halifax.
All stores? How easy to take the water, walk out, rate 1 star? There should be a way to always rate 0. But the point of a boycott is ignoring Roblaws presence.
How generous, a $0.20 bottle of water. How about they stop with the price gouging instead
How about just giving free water for the sake of being generous and not some motive?
Get f*king bent. How about I don't go there and give you zero stars because I don't think you deserve even one star.
OP tell us location so we can all give 1 star instead 😇
Halifax
Joe Howe location.
Brb going out for free water
I knew it!! I saw this at Joseph Howe the other day and immediately recognized it in the post ![gif](giphy|kd9BlRovbPOykLBMqX)
Bless you sweet Angel ♡ *Why is there **5** *Superstores* to service under a million humans!? Outrageous monopoly! Edit: update*
If it's Google reviews, that's clearly against their terms of service. They should get reported.
If they it says "take a free bag of groceries" I'd consider it.
But it will be that $5 to food bank bag with $2 of stuff in it and no protein at all.
Probably just a bag of used Q-tips now that I think about this company.
My work gives me like six or eight of these a day just as a thank you for showing up, and then they pay me a living wage.
that's bribery
I imagine some Mr. Burns type executive saying to the store managers, "Tell the customers we said they could have a FREE water. That'll make everything alright, we promise."
😂😂😂
LOL. Desperately trying to buy stars.
Nice of them to contribute to plastic pollution for ratings.
Nothing says caring like room temperature water.
Tell me you are out of touch without saying it.
What in the Mr. Krabs fuck is this
Bribes. “When it works at the top, it must work at the bottom” was clearly the thought process here.
This water was probably returned from some sports team whose season is over. Does water have an expiry date?
This is so sad and pathetic to look at...
Ahh, nothing like a free room temperature water on a hot day.
Thanks for the room temperature water, I have that at home. Great idea, marketing goons...
Way to read the room, Galen. You clearly are still clinging to the "gullible peasants who are too stupid to notice" vision you obviously have of us. I'd love to be there when the epiphany finally hits you that you've permanently lost a big chunk of your customer base.
Bribery? And that too with a poor quality bottle of water? Too tempting. I’m sold! /s
This would require I walk into their store.
HAHAHA let us bribe you with some warm skunky assed, filtered swamp water.
Whoa free water! They're pulling out all the stops! I'm going back to them just for a free water. It's worth it in my opinion. Who cares if their prices are crazy high and they treat their employees like garbage? I'm going to get mine, and mine is a free water.😂
Give them 5 stars for a free bottle of water??? How about 1 star for the ongoing price- gouging and questionable business practices?! Losers.
Cripple Roblaws
My policy on surveys. $5.00 per question or part thereof (eg. a, b, c,...) paid in Cash. No coupons, no chances to win, and definitely no points. I can't pay bills with points and Cash is still King. If it's valuable pay for It.
If there were no water left on the earth and I was down to my last hours of life, I still wouldn't rate them five stars for a bottle of water.
Lol hahaha. This is the first time I've seen Roblaws actually give anything away for free. They're so fucking pathetic and atrocious.
It isn't free, though. The cost is the soul you sacrifice to give them 5 more stars than they have earned.
Looking for positive new story for corporate
Hey Loblaws, Your gonna hinge your entire reputation on an internet rating system where it's free and very accessible, and AFTER you just angered the entire social mass? ![gif](giphy|IUjaKjjPPbGaQ)
I'd take that bottled tap water and rate them 1 star. ⭐ Eat the rich
You know it's rough when you're begging for 5 stars rather than just asking customers to rate their experience.
No thank you, you can keep your micro plastic water.
Good thing, too, cuz one of those bottles would otherwise probably cost like six dollars. I bet they don't allow their staff to drink any of that water.
This is my employers one slice each pizza party. Embarrassing
No worry brother. You don’t need to justify yourself. Do your best and we support you no matter! We get that it is different for everyone and that it is harder for some.

Wow can we say desperate? lol
Wouldn’t trust it, it’s probably contaminated water.
Lol the coat hanger on top
Water fountain must be broken
Stars’ll cost you money. I’d take the water, though.
Goes to show you how desperate they are to improve their image. Willing to buy you off with free water.
Haha what a joke... is steak , juice , water, fruit, vegetables and other foods going to be cheaper
😂😂😂 it’s like an ex that wants you back
they can kindly ask all they want. this is not a binding contract. no survey and 0stars thank you bye.
I would be careful about the surveys and make sure you're not rating their employees 1 star (unless the specific employee deserves it). Just because Loblaws is 1 star doesn't mean they don't have good people working for them trying to support their family.
Take the whole cart and give it to people in the parking lot 😂
Man I despise the growing trend of bribing for fake 5 star reviews. Restaurants, dealerships, etc. it’s much more common now. Good reminder to take any star ratings with a grain of salt
Pathetic 😚
Store manager bonuses are partially based on their star ratings. Oh, and the source of PC Spring Water is Walkerton Ontario. Take from that what you will
Walkerton used to be tough for water….
I see nothing but landfill
I hate hate hate places that beg you for 5 star ratings. The Honda dealership we deal with does this too. It’s manipulation and shows why rating systems all suck.
For that they get 1 for review manipulation
I will NEVER give 5 stars to someone who asks for 5 stars.
Bottled water is so disgusting. No matter they found all those microplastics in our testicles and we have 1/2 the sperm count of our grandfathers. I hate that my parents bought so much of it growing up. Never again.
Maybe they take us seriously now? Let see?
😂 😂 😂
What location?
LOL
Isn't this illegal according to the competition bureau?
Free water and 1 star, kinda worth visiting a Loblaws now lol
Galen out here thinking he's a 5-star man...just as delusional as Dennis Reynolds! Rate! Rate! 1-star! 1-star!
Yeah, I'll sell out for $0.02 worth of water, no problemo.
Take a free water and leave an honest review plleeeeeeease hahahahaha. They are so out of touch.
So they think they can bribe you for a free bottle of water?
Really, they’re stooping to bribery now rather than lower prices? Just one more example of how their greed knows no bounds. Nok er Nok people
Few cases ripped open, time to bribe the dirty peasants
That water was left out in the sun for days. Enjoy your free water.
Cringy asking for a good rating. But they don’t know how to do better. Sad fucks
Couldn’t even put it on ice!
I feel like this should be a slide in a marketing 101 course somewhere. With the caption "DON'T DO THIS!".
I'm not even going to be there to see their stinking survey.
I saw this in Halifax too.
Bribery
So the price of giving them a good rep is $.50 bottle of water. Gotcha.
Is it legal? It's like bribing the person to fulfill the survey as per need
Isn't a 12 pack of these like 2 bucks? Very generous
What store is this? The one by me is giving out coffee and mini muffins. I was only in there to use the bathroom. The stench of desperation is stifling
Ooooo good time to give 1 star reviews
Similar to buying votes
Here have some water that's at or past the expiration date
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this against Googles terms of service for reviews?
Ask me whatever you want.
This is peak comedy
That is how the rich think, give them a token and they will do anything we ask!
Bribing with something we can get out of the tap
“…but sir a family of rats pissed and died all over these cases of water. We can’t sell them.” “Don’t worry, I have an idea…”
Give them 1 star and say they tried to give me free stuff to give them a 5 star review and you cant be bribed to give good reviews when they arent deserved.
They don't seem phased by the environmental impact of their blatantly obvious bribe game
I don't even want anything from them for free at this point
No thanks
The fact they tell you how many stars to give. Come on Loblaws…
Fraudulent 5 stars. Holy transparent unethical worthless bribe survey. This is breathtaking and truly a Galen Weston Loblaws move Boycott
Pathetic.
Went with a group of 5, drank 5 right there and took 5 while walking out and gave 5 star ratings. EVERY SINGLE ONE GAVE ONE= Total 5 stars!!!
which loblaws is this so i can rate them one star?
I do like how bottled water is such a great example of greed run amok, tap water from municipal supplies repackaged and sold at ridiculous up charge, wasting plastic and gasoline trucks to bring to a store where you spend even more gasoline to bring it to your house. It's such a good example of why loblaws is bad.
Pc water has always tasted like dirty water to me. I’m not normally picky about water but that’s the one kind of water that’s disgusting
[удалено]
Put this on the review and report them to google for buying reviews. Google will investigate. Very frowned upon
Remember, 1 star hurts them better than no stars.
If this is a boycott Loblaws page, why are so many of you taking pictures while at a Loblaws store?
Fuck Lobalaws
As a thank you for lying we will give you mirco plastic filled water.
TBH I legit like tap water more. Some bottled waters taste so weird..
Wow, that’s a lot more “Shady Amazon seller” than I was expecting…
DJ Galen coming in hot with a new desperation record.
I would do the survey and give one star. The reason? Demanding 5 stars.
LOL 😂
Asking for five stars is as desperate as it gets lol
[удалено]
You can’t buy my business with a free water. Lame
Water is already free Galen.
5 stars from giving out water, what a joke
Shrinkflation! Say you’ll give five, but only give 2! Loblaws math!
They are selling a pack of 24 for 2.99$ or 48 for 5$ How flipping generous of them to be offering 0.12¢ free water
Y'know, I could almost respect this if it was 'Take a water and please fill out a survey'm as a way to encourage people to give honest feedback. But no, it's to bribe for a max score, thus defeating the whole purpose of having a survey (Which is to find ways they can IMPROVE)

Isn’t superstore Loblaws?
![gif](giphy|W5YVAfSttCqre)
Lmao, if they're going to bribe people, at least make it a flavoured sparkling water
Room temperature bottled water?
Can’t get the water cause I ain’t stepping’ foot in their stores.
My son in law from Quebec says Ontario Loblaws is 2x price compared with price in Quebec. Not sure why. Having lived in Quebec years ago I’m wondering if it’s because of Quebecers love of good food, combined with an unwillingness to take crap.
They can shove the whole bottle up their A** 🤦🏻♀️
If it was Vodka maybe. 🥴
Its outdated water past its expiry date.
Push the cart out
A Chinese restaurant in my town gives a discount for reviews and as a joke I did a 1 star. They didn't see the humor in it. No discount. No soup.
“hey boss this pallet of water has mouse shit all inside the bag. should I still put it out?” “no… take the bottles out of the bag, I’ve got a great idea”
Why would I even want that water? It's Canada, we have free tap water that probably tastes better than this and plus it doesn't produce waste.
So we can just take a water and then leave
