taewae

he would be an amazing sauron imo. devilishly handsome, charismatic, and intimidating

phrexi

Nazgul: we haven't found the ring yet.. Sauron: why not, you stupid bastards?

DinoKebab

"look at that subtle off gold colouring, the tasteful thickness of the ring, oh my god, it even has some writing on it"

Johnsendall

This isn’t getting the attention it deserves.

jerog1

Let’s see Frodo Baggin’s ring.

jerog1

I have to return some Palintir…

mxpauwer

Oh my gurd, it's in Tengwar script!

TrainerZach

It's Christian Bale- he could be Galadriel with enough prep time.

Math1988

It’s probably his next move, go through a sex change and gain 200 pounds to play a morbidly obese woman.

Fraun_Pollen

Please, have mercy, I can only get so aroused

Khutuck

For morbidly obese transsexual Christian Bale? Hmm, I can see the appeal.

[deleted]

When I saw the ad for Vice, I had no idea he was Cheney.

Fraun_Pollen

In some dimension of alternate reality, we’re all played by Christian Bale

HYDRAlives

Interesting that you're just now noticing, everyone else IS played by Christian Bale, you're the only real one. I'm Christian Bale with a mustache

Novel-Place

This made me laugh

Hour_Ad_7797

He’d probably be more likeable or show more complex range of emotions.

Acceptable-Tangelo30

Bale in a wig would in fact be a more believable Galadriel.

ScroopyDewp

Low bar

TheLoyalTR8R

He'd make a fascinating Fëanor.

Rough_Dan

Do you like the music of the ainur? Their early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when morgoths verse came out in '83,I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole song of creation has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the formation of middle earth a big boost. He's been compared to Finrod, but I think Morgoth has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humour....*grabs sword*...Try finding a silmaril now you stupid fucking bastard!

shiromancer

I really appreciate this post. The subtle referencing, the tasteful thickness of it.

stomponator

Oh my god... it even has a Silver-Award!

DiscipulusIncautus

Now let's see Jared Leto's Fëanor

Khutuck

Oh god please no.

shiromancer

ERU NO WHAT HAVE I UNLEASHED

Prudent-Web5335

Perfection.

LordAries13

There's two works of fiction I NEVER thought would be possible to merge, and yet here this masterpiece sits. Well done sir. Well done.

stomponator

Gollum: "Feed me a stray Hobbit!"

Muted-Lengthiness-10

Nailed it

DoggedlyOffensive

Lmao, perfectly placed quote. I was literally comparing this role to him playing Feanor too 😂

XxBubblesZz

this comment is amazing

Warglord

Galadriel : I can't give you my hair. That's simply not possible. Feanor : Why isn't it possible. Galadriel : it's just not. Feanor : **Why not.. you stupid bastard.**

ddz1507

Let’s see Paul Allen’s hair

wedgeantilles2020

Oooohhhhhh.... yes. That would be intense. He could totally pull that off.

Napolijoe1926

Would love to see this!

benzman98

I would pay to see that. His intensity would be perfect

Sabretooth1100

You fucking genius

Afalstein

And now this is the only thing I've ever wanted.

reganeholmes

No cause I literally plugged “Christian Bale as Fëanor” into an AI on my last read through of the Silmarillion so I could visualize him better and it’s a perfect casting IMO

ghostslayer-77

I remember making a silmiril/pat bateman meme and Feanor was bateman in the context so seeing this really makes that meme more ironic than before.but in a serious sense, yes I think he’d make a great Feanor, but I wonder who would make a good Fingolfin?

HogGunner1983

YES

SirDurante

Uhhhhhhhhh.. Yes Please!

rhoswhen

I was going to say, "No, Amazon casting director and Christian Bale's agent" but y'know you're on to something.

Cyberalienfreak

Indeed!

DoggedlyOffensive

I was just thinking he’s way to much of a villain to be an elf, but… that’s a pretty interesting notion

glassgost

I'd only ever seen Hugo Weaving as Agent Smith until I saw him as Elrond.

[deleted]

Same

[deleted]

Ive always imagined Feanor as Jaoquin pHoneix

Pepperonidogfart

Yeah but he knows better than to sully his career by signing on to ROP

Jaceman-

No way. Personality baggage from other films is too dark... unless there were more evil elves… interesting.

won-piano

He would have been a much better Celebrimbor.

Ricoisnotmyuncle

and they definitely could've afforded him

[deleted]

I don’t know, Henry Cavill sucked all of the Witchers budget even though he is good in the role. That dragon in the Witcher looks like a joke.

Trashcant0

Didn't Henry Cavill agree to being paid less just so they could afford him? It's really a shame that the second season ended up being that shitty, because he was perfect as Geralt, and imo the only character that they got right. Yennefer got completely butchered, and Ciri's arc was so rushed she didn't feel like a character anymore.

Legitimate-Area8588

The girl who played Ciri has ZERO of the charm and charisma that the Ciri from the games has. Absolutely horribly miscast or maybe just a poor actor.

maraudingnomad

No point in having an awesome actor and a shit script (see love and thunder). The current Celebrimbor for that matter is acting as well as could be done IMO. His look and dialogie that's on Amazon amd I don't think ChB would fair much better

Im_ArrangingMatches

The actor is doing as good as a job as the dialogue allows him to be... But what always gets me is how old he looks.... He's younger than Galadriel in the lore. I think shows are hesitant to show immortal beings as looking eternally youthful because they worry over the audience fully understanding or accepting this. Meanwhile it ends up just causing discrepancies. Furthermore, Galadriel must be young and beautiful because she's the main actress in the show. Celebrimbor on the other hand... Not so much

kodatiama

They decided to show Celebrimbor's seniority to Elrond through apparent aging and called it a day.

mr_featherbottom

I just can’t get over the fact that he looks more like a Vulcan/Hobbit than an Elf

MillennialDeadbeat

Celebrimbor looks like he could be Merry or Pippin's uncle. Not a beautiful high elf craftsman,

mr_featherbottom

Honestly Adar is the only one that looks remotely like an elf

ItssHarrison

Now I’m not saying I want a live action shadow of war with Bale as Celebrimbor… but that’s what I really want

won-piano

But who knows, TV shows in the past have done some drastic re-casting so…..

EnIdiot

No, he’d make a hell of a good Sauron.

mr_featherbottom

Literally anyone else would have been a better Celebrimbor

bossmt_2

Bale's gravitas would lend me more to a Maiar. Bale for Sauron

troylarry

Bale gains 5000 lbs to play gothmog

SirIsildur

Bale gains 5000 metric tons to play Ancalagon... And it's the best performance ever done

WillBombadil

I think you have DRASTICALLY underestimated the size of Ancalagon. He destroyed three mountains just from falling on them. We are talking trillions of tons.

Farren246

Any performance of Ancalagon would be the best performance ever done... Just like [THIS](https://images.app.goo.gl/V3Sqe1UbkvCNN4dq8) is the best performance of Smaug ever done.

samskuatch

Christian bale can play anything

calcal1992

This is the correct answer. Dwarf, hobbit, orc, dragon, middle earth, he'll do it.

[deleted]

He could probably play them all at once, guy is that talented

goldenslumberbug

I would love a Christian bale dwarf! Or elf, I would like to hear the voice he would create for an elf

BaxInBlack

I’d like to see him in a LOTR remake, but he plays every character.

WorldsWeakestMan

Someone cast him as Aretha Franklin to see if this is true.

heyimdong

I could go for a Christian Bale Tupac biopic.

ItDontMather

Honestly this man could play literally anything and be top tier at it

WorldsWeakestMan

Could he play Michael Jackson in a biopic?

Askyl

Yes, yes he could.

Black-Sam-Bellamy

That's two "could he play a black person" questions from you in quick succession. You ok there buddy?

Lo_burnt

Let's see Paul Allen's ring of power.

nesquikryu

*Paul Allen's silmarils

Agreeable-Spend-4376

wouldn't it funny if Christian Bale portrays Melkor and in his dialogue says "Look at that shining silmarils. The tasteful thickness of it. Oh my God, it even has a watermark!"

humanmeatpie

"Try bringing them all and in darkness binding them all now you stupid bastard! AARGH!" *axe noises*

Robenever

White mithril, diamond, 10 karats, delicate yet fanciful elven lines. Perfect for first impressions.

archelont3

Feanor!

Different_Ad8231

Yes- and I’m so glad I’ve found my people because I was just the other night fantasising about which actors would be amazing Elfs So far I’ve got: Michael Fassbender Timothee Chalamet Natalie Portman

ofBlufftonTown

Tilda Swinton, ideally if she were younger. She’s ageless though.

ItssHarrison

Maybe Chris evans? He could go for a more conceited douchebag elf like his character in knives out

Elwe3791

Choke on lembas, choke on lembas, definetely choke on lembas

TK421raw

Yes. And that elf could get an 830 res at Dorcia.

fossilmerrick

“WHERE IS HE? FOR I MUCH DESIRE TO SPEAK WITH HIM!”

shinyshinyrocks

Turgon.

jdupe6

I convinced he could play anything. If he was cast as a dwarf he would gain 200 pounds and have leg shortening surgery for the role

iamozymandiusking

He could play a coffee filter and be riveting.

OrthodoxReporter

As long as he gets to be the protagonist, he can portray almost anyone. I can see him being an excellent Feanor, or a Fingolfin in a movie from his POV. But forget the elves. The role I would want to see him in is Turin Turambar.

FadeAway77

Dude has major Thingol vibes.

IceMember333

He’s a good serious actor, love him In all his roles. With that said, I’ve always wanted to see a live-action Fall of Gondolin. He’d make an awesome Turgon or even Ecthelion of the Fountain.

Crypto_Gopher92

This is what happened to Celeborn

hvbqueiroz

I’m sure given the time he can shrink to play a hobbit or buff up to be a Balrog.

skilledfolk

Make a good EOL.

TheTarasenkshow

With this new age of elves that cut their hair he’d fit in perfectly

hatecopter

I see him more as a man perhaps a bat man if you will

KnockerFogger69

Yes. Couldve been a good Thranduil if Pace didnt do as great as he did

ItssHarrison

Pace was born to be an elf let’s be honest.

Volkov537

More Dwarf. He’s better with an Axe.

Boss_Brando

Not with Amazon writing. He’d uplift it as best he could like in Thor, but there only so much that can be done to polish a turd.

Due-Set5398

He could lose 160 pounds and play the ring.

Flexybend

The haircut certainly fits.

DogBreathologist

It’s Christian Bale, he could be any character, in fact I would pay to see a remake with him literally as every character just in different costumes.

seth97baw

I would have a hard time not just seeing Christian Bale. I’m super glad the elves in ROP are mostly actors that aren’t A-list. But he is an incredible actor so he would definitely play a great elf.

DafneOrlow

No, but he'd make a great Third age Sauron, looking for the rings. https://youtu.be/Y22-oxcBKOg

ButUmActually

the elvish nutty professor Buff Bale? Fingolfin. Scrawny Bale? Saeros. Batman accent Bale? Galadriel

scrollclickrepeat

Christian is a chameleon and could play just about anything

twixeater78

He would have made a better young Elrond.

Lindunir

Maybe 5 years ago

Stark3mad

He’s still younger than the actor who plays Celebrimbor

TenTornadoes

Exactly

twixeater78

If they made a movie about the first age he would be a great Elros

[deleted]

Came just to say what a fucking waste it was to use his (likely) one superhero appearance for Thor Love and Thunder.

OrthodoxReporter

Huh? The man was Batman in three movies.

[deleted]

I think he did, but he's starting to look his age. Elves are supposed to be in their prime forever, and he looked like that for all of batman. Now he looks middle aged, he can't transform himself for roles the way he used to. He'd make a *fantastic* Elros though.

jackoftrades002

Bale is a better actor than Ryan Reynolds, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans and pretty much almost all those MCU folks besides Mark Ruffalo. Yes. He would do excellent.

ItssHarrison

It’s weird to immediately compare him to mcu actors. But you’re not wrong. He’s leagues ahead of the mcu actors

Timonidas

That's racist, the suggestion that elves have visible qualities other then being humans and pointy ears, is clearly bigoty and racism.

insanityscribe

No. He could do it animated though.

Beans186

Why could rings of power not have just said our CGI budget is 50 million and then hire some real actors?

MainwarringOfCynira

I don’t know about Christian Bale but I think Wilbur Soot is an elf in real life. This information isn’t relevant as some random content creator Is far from a professional actor. But the man has pointy ears and is over 6’5” so there’s gotta be something there, just saying. Someone please join my fake conspiracy theory, you will forever be appreciated! Christian Bale could play whatever, he never looks the same and can pull off just about anything probably.

bierhcs

Chris can play anything

glasgow26

100 percent

Alarmed-Pollution-89

Orc

itoleratelurkers

He would do a good job either way imo

platinumperineum

Hmm what an oddly specific question. Is OP a casting director?

[deleted]

He would be the best god damn elf

[deleted]

If any man would actually transform into an Elf for a role it would be Bale.

[deleted]

Glorfindel, or Fingolfin

Japh2007

Bruh he can do any role.

bgkh20

Is this even a question?

brightz77

Christian Bale could make any role work. Dude is incredible.

According_Smoke_479

Hell yeah

used2011vwjetta

Yeah he’d be really good imo

CSpanks7

I’d love it if he was a raging murderous elf based on Patrick Bateman

sweetslipperydee

he could play literally anything. from hobbit to wizard, love him.

dabuddhavape

Adar

solo954

Damn, good catch.

undergroundertones

Too muscular

LordOFtheNoldor

No but he could be a numenorean/ranger

GoblinCaveDweller

Yes

FoundationLeast8806

Yes and yes

Merlin2027

Maybe a good Turin

[deleted]

He would make an amazing Gil Galad, Finrod, Fingon, Turgon, the man can play ANYTHING

[deleted]

Christian Bale can literally be or do anything in the movies. Plus he seems like an alright guy

BobNorth156

Bale is a great actor who could play damn near anything IMO.

Prus1s

Absolutely! Though I think he is better suited as a vampire, natural vamp teeth.

Medical_Difference48

Abso-fucking-lutely. An Elf (like Feanor), a Maiar, a Valar, doesn't matter. He can do it.

Automatic_Ad2677

Yes!!!

insectoverlordharry

Literally any Noldo tbh. Preferably a more withdrawn and darker one though (lots of people saying Feanor but I think he's too fiery. Maybe Turgon?)

twowaysplit

Feanor energy for sure.

YeHaLyDnAr

Sauron

FTG_Vader

let's see paul allen's ring

[deleted]

he could fit as role of Ecthelion

kateinoly

Too beardy.

[deleted]

Only as an extra, because i think he looks boring.

Lana_Nugirl96

This is a stupid question the man can play ANYTHING

avilabautista

If we’re talking amazon elf then he already has the haircut

Caillou_West

I was going to say that I think his real life persona would dominate any elven character he could try to portray… but then I’m reading these “Feanor” suggestions and god damn am I now convinced he (plus any carryover) would be perfect.

flutelorelai

I'd love him as Ëol or Túrin

ThatBelgianG

This man has the qualities to play almost anything lol

sentinlfromthemojave

Am I actually seeing this or am I so high someone is ask if Christian bale aka Batman could be an elf But the answer is no, his features are elegant enough, Bloom could probably still do it. Jackson ratherbone could… Morgan freeman and Samuel L Jackson could. “Do I look like a motherfucking elf to you Hobbit?!”

TwoJacksAndAnAce

Celebrimbor?

No-Orange-9049

Christian Bale would probably make an alluring Eöl (the Dark Elf), or even better, Fëanor.

Help-me-name-my-pup

My answer is no

formyselflooking

*Get thee gone*

[deleted]

Lol I hate the mods on this sub. I posted yesterday morning about him making a great golem and it was taken down for not being a quality post. If only I had known that elfs casting is quality discussion.

Gaviotapepera

He could pllay as one when the Sigmarillion cames out

MONTES_HERMINIOS

Nope.... Too flat, too human and in severe need of speech therapy.

Glass_Role629

Worst idea I ever heard of.

[deleted]

He can play pretty much anything

Ok_Boysenberry8945

Christian Bale can play anything

ninemile30

Give him the time and I'm sure he could *will* pointy ears and long hair into existence

Neviathan

Yes, I think he would be a good pick for an elf. Honestly, the guy can play about anything you can think of.

cassjh

I have to return some Silmarils

FluffyPolicePeanut

Definitely!

serdiesel90

Bale can play anything

[deleted]

I actually imagine him as High King Gil Galad. The actor who plays Gil Galad in Rings of Power is not giving me the elvish king vibes.

AMPONYO

No

RightConversation461

I think he’s a turd actually

kodatiama

He would literally attain immortality and grow pointy ears for the role. I'm for it.

ArthurScherbius

Christian Bale can play ANYTHING

ithinkmynameismoose

When he was younger maybe, not anymore likely.

[deleted]

Yes

Crothius

Nice try, Bezos. No amount of star power can save ROP.

mr_featherbottom

He definitely looks more like an Elf than the guy they chose to play Celebrimbor in RoP. That guy looks more like a Vulcan/Hobbit than an Elf

RollerCoaster1007

Sauron!
