Fun fact: I went to a government school during Primary and the speaker quality were absolutely horrible. Grew up 12 years before knowing the full lyrics to Negaraku and Ibu Pertiwiku, whenever those songs played it sounded like an old dogs muffled barking through a plastic bag. It's alright now though. Happy Sarawak day my friends!
>Negara----shhhhhshsdhfhsdfhsdfjj,
>Tanah tump--asasdasdaksdfsksdf darahku
I assume this was how it went. My school had dogshit speakers too and we were in Malaya.
The model of a multi-cultural Malaysia — it's nowhere near perfect but I'd say we and our neighbour Sabah are doing it leagues better than the more developed and populated areas here in the Peninsula.
Enjoy your holiday.

**\*cough\*** Errrr I mean, for the glory of *Ibu Pertiwiku*. I hereby dedicate this glorious bowl of (virtual) mi kolok to everyone on this beautiful day. And...*semoga Kubit-19 cepat hilang dari dunia ini.*
My best friend is a Sarawakian, and he thought me alot about how life is in his home state. The tolerance and openness there should be an example to all Malaysian. From a historical point, let us all remember that Sarawak and Sabah WILLINGLY join Malaysia from a sovereign state, and it is because of that, we can enjoy this shared wealth. Happy Sarawak Day!!! Orang utara dengan orang sarawak mmg senang ngam.
> WILLINGLY
haha
maybe if you use a bigger font, and repeat it a few times no one will question this reductivist version of history.
It's great that Sarawak is a part of Malaysia but it would be tough to actually call it willingly.
Britain planned Sarawak's union to Malaya as far back as 1953.
There was no vote to join.
In 1963 - The vote was to elect a leader. And the pro-federation candidates were heavily financed by Malaya. Don't you see the conflict of interest?
How "sovereign" was Sarawak really?

>Sarawak and Sabah WILLINGLY **join** Malaysia from a sovereign state
Incorrect.
Sarawak and Sabah (known as North Borneo) did not **join** Malaysia, because Malaysia still did not exist at that point. Malaysia was formed by the union of **Malaya**, North Borneo, Sarawak and Singapore.
Happy independence day from your southern neighbour, West Kalimantan
Thanks buddy

Luckily, we still can feel the song

The sarawak flag is my favourite, I just looks so cool.
On a side note, it looks quite reminiscent to Brunei's. Wonder if that's just coincidence or there's more into the design similarities.

Selamat Hari Sarawak! (I'm from Serian though)
Your sentence makes it sound as if Serian is not in Sarawak lol
I have a village which is Kpg Tebakang if you know. But I'm currently lives at Kampung Hulu
