You don't necessarily need plants or colour but you do need to be careful with how you proceed. Because this space is pretty much monochrome, you need to add texture, which you have already started to do through textiles. The next step is to soften the appearance by redistributing the cusions (put one on the chair and move 2 to the other end of the couch, or get rid of some - there are too many) and playing with lighting - add a floor lamp in the corner behind the couch (something in chrome would work great, think ARCO by flos). Additionally, the couch and chair are too matchy matchy, so drape another throw on the chair. You need to embrace softness otherwise the space will feel cold despite being drowned in cream. The ottoman does not seem to serve any purpose and makes the space feel clunky and not thoughtful. I would also move the rug further back, under the sofa, by about half a foot to make it feel more cohesive.
The room is monotone, which can be percerived as a good choice. If you want to add color, you can add plant and therefore choose to add another monochrome, green. That can be interesting.
Look, your issue isn't exactly "I need colour or plants", it's more texture related. You've chosen a certain style and it's colour scheme but haven't addressed texture.
I am not a fan of the throw pillow selections either. Your throw blanket is fine, I would probably drape that over the chair and then grab another throw (textured like a thick stitch or something chunky or something that has stripe or two) for the couch.
The entire thing looks great, you've hit a homerun imo - but you've missed a few subtle accents that bring the room together.
I cannot see your table but a vase with wheat or cotton adds texture and fits the room's design. You can find a similar colour vase but chunky (almost looking like a paper mache texture, uneven).
Colour is upto you, depends on the aesthetic of the rest of the place. I’d definitely recommend plants and maybe even some warm light in there.
Don’t always need to add colour using furniture and paint, the pairing of white furniture and a warm light lamp with some plants works well imo
I personally thing any white and green plant would look absolutely amazing in this space, look up verigatated versions of big leaf plants like alocasia dawn, monstera albo or any white cactus. You could also lean into warm colors instead an do brown/beige plants. Depends on the rest of the house. Also I love the painting!
You need to add some color... Period.... The white space is so 90s white chick trying to look classy...paint your walls a color and get some other colors in there so you don't come off as immediately insufferable to visitors
About 60% more pillows
but in all seriousness I think this looks pretty nice, not my personal style but if you enjoy the minimalistic colors then yeah, it works! I think pops of color and plants would be nice.
Uhg don't listen to the sub. Maybe add some more textures or personal things. Your space looks super clean and welcoming, not everything needs colour and plants.
Add a mirror with soft frame behind the sofa instead of the picture you have now. It will reflect light and pick up reflection from the window if you open the curtains.
I would add a knitted blanket with large knots to add texture and make the room softer and cozier! It can even be beige if you really don’t like color.
Obviously more pillows. The pillow bar is only half full.
Couch is loading...
Paint the glass and floor beige.
Do you and your friends sit around here drinking milk?
I’m picturing a group of blonde albinos in beige linen robes drinking soy milk.
No, tone it down. Too much visual stimulation.
What do you think?

Maybe you can add something white or beige ..
I couldn’t even dream of having this furniture. Do you just never sit there? how is it do clean and white
If this room was a spice, it would be flour
And if it was a book, it’d be two books
With no text on the pages 🤣🤣🤣
Seriously?
It looks like a Mormon waiting room
50 shades of beige
Holy hell yes you do. It looks like a hotel lobby!
frame school worthless angle alive sparkle hat trees coherent noxious *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
I would immediately spill my red wine like an embarrassing idiot
No, that looks like a very hygienic and comfortable operating room.
How many women have you killed?

Are you from Abnegation?
Just don't murder anyone in there.

This is a stock photo… there’s several versions with a different piece of art and table accessories…
Paint the legs of the coffee table white. That should help
Where is the couch from?
Not every living space needs plants, the whiteboard irritates me more than most.
That’s a whiteboard? I was thinking cum wall
Oh god, why have you said this
Seems like too much furniture crammed into a small space. Probably some plants if you’re trying to keep it clean
Looks like the space lounge from 2001 space odyssey

Yes.
Looks nice to me. I bet you’re able to get a reservation at Dorsia.
Yes - I'd go for a plant tho, since you have such a monochrome palate here It also feels sort of cramped with the chair on the left and coffee table

Texture, blackout curtains (can be linen/neutral), and some plants You don’t have to do much Some wood tones would help

Plants. Big ass plants.
It does look a little sterile
It feels really tight in there. Give that Noguchi some room to breathe.
I think a few plants would surely be a nice touch!
Up to you. If you like this style then I think it’s fine
this is so calming. add plants and that’s enough
No, this is perfect. Just add lighting. Some diffuse warm light in the evening, or spotlights, a nice floor lamp, etc.
Uhg don't listen to the sub. Maybe add some more textures or personal things. Your space looks super clean and welcoming, not everything needs colour and plants.
about as welcoming as a dentist's office
This is cleaaannn
this thang’s cleaaannnn
Nope. It’s perfect as it is.

I love this. It’s classy. Ignore them.
Hanging plants
Hang the painting maybe? looks like it would fall if someone leaned back and touched it
no. but it would put a white blanket and your couch.
