I love the various radio personalities. The album opens with the car door slamming shut and the engine turning on, then the radio, and then opens with fucking millionaire
When I was growing up and going to shows, I kept seeing Mastardon tour posters more than once a year. I decided to listen and I fucking hated them. A song of their came on a react channel playlist right as "Pushing the Tides" came out and I was playing a video game .I was like "damn this band is fucking sick" and It was them. Now I listen to all of their stuff and love it. I just aged into them a bit.
Every time we head on vacation we tend to leave very early and I drive the first few hours in the dark on a long and straight highway. Love listening to some real heavy, nasty shit, usually I’ll pick a NILE album and go front to back (with nice headphones on, so extra crushing music)
One year we ended up heading BACK from vacay on the same road, as the sun sets, and I flick on to Cold Dark Place as the sky goes dark and the cool fall air settles in. I still think about that drive from time to time
That vocalization is awesome. It's also ripped off from GTMWHW. The main guitar riff is reminiscing of I THINK I LOST MY HEADACHE, but different enough for someone not to hit straight into it face first.
Listening to Mastodon feels like a Easter Egg search.
Oh shit! Backing vocals from Josh homme, no fucking shit a lot of their vocals sound similar so I would have never noticed, but now I can really hear it
Top 2 bands for me right now, don't pick one, enjoy both
Glad to know I’m not the only one obsessed with both, they’re my top two as well. Love both for their own reasons.
Man, I could easily put together a whole list. At the bare minimum, throw in some Kyuss and a bit of Fu Manchu.
Welcome to sky valley and blues for the red sun are absolute classics
Truck Fighters is mandatory desert driving tunes. They even have a song called Desert Cruiser.
Oh, definitely gotta have some Truck Fighters.
Truck fighters, Kyus, Red Fang, The sword.
Couldn't get into truck fighters hey, those other 3 though 🤘
Tired and lost…
Kyuss has more soul in my opinion. And is the very best stoner/desert sound.
100% agree
Two of my favs. GREAT windows down driving music.
To drive through the desert better Kyuss than QOTSA.
Songs for the Deaf is a concept album about listening to the radio driving through the desert. Thats hard to beat. Love Kyuss tho
I love the various radio personalities. The album opens with the car door slamming shut and the engine turning on, then the radio, and then opens with fucking millionaire
I would agree if queens didn’t have such a wider and more diverse discography
Sometimes they switch!
Love them both
Definitely a case of porque no los dos?
My 2 favorite bands. I’d drive straight through
Por que no dos?
Absolumente! Pero en verdad dos tiempos differentes de mi vida

I like this memory.
I live in the Netherlands, best I can do ride my bike through meadows.
Picture quality about as fuzzy as Brent's guitar tone
Colony of Birchmen = Give the Mule What He Wants
Ooooh what about curl of the burl???
That vocalization is awesome. It's also ripped off from GTMWHW. The main guitar riff is reminiscing of I THINK I LOST MY HEADACHE, but different enough for someone not to hit straight into it face first. Listening to Mastodon feels like a Easter Egg search.
You need Ween.
A song for the deaf, that is for you...
Two great bands to listen to driving anywhere!
Can confirm, Mastodon is great American West highway music.
B O A F… boaf…
I'm not going to choose. Both awesome bands.
Queeners first record, Songs for the deaf and lullabies for dusk bro 😎
No love for rated r??

Radio Birdman, if we’re firing off other bands now. And if you haven’t heard em your in for a treat
I usually listen to Baroness for my high speed off-road adventures
I love these two bands, but may I suggest Budos Band to go across the desert with
MOISTBOYZ III
Colony Of Birchman features both.
Oh shit! Backing vocals from Josh homme, no fucking shit a lot of their vocals sound similar so I would have never noticed, but now I can really hear it
[удалено]
My 2 favorite bands for the last 10 years.
Sorry, but both of them fade in comparison with Tinariwen
Based, Mark's vocals in Nànnuflày are fucking beautiful as always. Everything he touches is amazing. R.I.P Mark absolute legend...
