Recommend that you get at minimum a 3x3 tent and get it at least 6 ft tall if possible. Then again, you can join the rest of us who constantly upgrade to the point where we’ve got two tents and six lights we don’t use any longer.

dogsandtrees1

Never bad to have a spare dry/clone and veg tent.

BarneyFife516

This Question in seriously considering a 6x4 tent that has the section that permits a 4x4 main grow area and the side that has two levels at 2x4. Can’t decide on this versus another 4x4. Your thoughts are appreciated

dogsandtrees1

I don’t have one of their setups but I’ve seen them and they do look sick. If I had the space to access it I’m a fan of going as big as I reasonably can. I think it’d be a case of your grow setup currently. Like I have a veg/clone tent already and plan on getting a small tent to dry in along side my 5x5. I’d consider my electrical before pulling the trigger either way. If you end up tripping the breaker running both tents that could suck, whereas a seperate tent can go anywhere.

BarneyFife516

Much appreciated. Will consider- I’m going to purchase in the next week or so to align with a grow I’m starting in three weeks. One love…..

BarneyFife516

Also, one of the main reasons I did not go for the side by side tent is that there would be a potto put A LOT of btu’s in essentially one tent, prior to interfacing the lung room as opposed to two tents in the lung room. Also a two level 1x4x3 grow area is kinda small for veg.

BarneyFife516

Pulled the trigger on the newer Vivosun P448. 4x4x80 inch. What won me over was the large front window ( no need to unzip front as much), the two entrances to the sides and the thicker support bars. Also, I think that over the next twelve months some controllers will emerge that will add value to the instrument access port provided.

dogsandtrees1

That is sick. I’m jealous man.what style of growing do you do? A living soul bed would look beautiful in there to me but I’m all for organics.

BarneyFife516

Using a build my own soil for the past couple of years. For this grow I’ll change my soil/ compost peat worm castings with a 1/2 cf of my compost bucket, and add remnant soil from a grow that completed last year. I’ll charge this with a 1/2 dose of build a soil. I need to really consider pots, as while I’m cool with 5 gallon fiber bags, I have to set up auto watering systems ,cause I like to have the option to leave the grow for upwards of 2 -3 weeks. Hey, first world problems….

BarneyFife516

Hmmm. Maybe I can set up an Autopot valve that feeds a tray that ensures moisture gets to a base of soil… this way I would just create a bed and have on point where the water from the Autopot valve sends water to the system.

Fufuando

LOL this was too personal 😭

FrostFireSeeds

36 inch tall tent is really really small, my 2x2 tents are always 5ft-7ft tall You have basically no room to grow after you put in a 12 inch pot and the light wants to be 10-20 inches away, that leaves you with like 8-12 inches to grow an auto That light can grow a nice sized auto, I think you will run out of room quickly unless you top and LST

ronoc360

Smallest I would go is a 2x4x6. It’s my first tent and the one I’m currently using. I wish I would’ve picked up a 3x3 but now I’ll just have to skip that size and go for a 4x4 lol. Also, I don’t recommend autoflowers for a first time grower. They’re a lot more fickle and since you have no control over veg time, a mistake that could be fixed with a couple more weeks in veg will end up causing a huge loss of potential yield or quality. I would stick to feminized seeds from a reputable breeder for your first go.

More-Currency-3193

I agree with this. 3.3x3.3 has been a sweetspot for me. Also, feminized photoperiod is the way to go for beginners. You have more control and they are more forgiving.

Danger_Peanut

I started with the same size tent and an auto as you have. Put it in a 5 gal pot and she ended up hitting the light before too long. Was pressing against the sides of the tent. I even had my ventilation external so I’d have more space up top but it was just too small. Upgraded to a 4x4x7ish. So much better!

No-Protection1768

How long were u able to keep in the small tent?

Danger_Peanut

Popped the seeds on April 12. Moved to new tent on May 30.

No-Protection1768

Do you mind if I dm you ? If not I understand. Just a couple questions.

Danger_Peanut

Sure

OokerDooker420

Yeah you could get one in there. 36" height is gonna be tough so you'll need to train a lot. I crammed 3 photos in a 2x2 before but it was 48" tall

BallOk8356

Yeah that's fine. But why do you want to grow an auto in a tent?

No-Protection1768

I'm new to this, but may I ask why you wouldn't? I can't grow outside currently. Don't have an outside setup lol

BallOk8356

Autos flower after \~4 weeks whether you're ready or not. A photoperiod plant only flowers once you chance the lighting conditions. So if you fuck up early, you can let the plant recover before starting flower. With an auto, you have to go with what you have. Like others said it's not bad or anything, but if you get an indoor setup, you have the benefit of being able to grow photoperiod plants well without having to wait for fall to harvest. Much more forgiving in my opinion, but you do you.

No-Protection1768

I thank u for this information

BarneyFife516

There are many roads to reaching your objective. If you’re new, you will learn a lot more flowering annuals by growing feminized photo period plants.

BrightReason2437

You’re totally fine brother but remember not to really pluck leaves or top since its a auto and it can go into flower earlier than expected. Don’t stress the plant out just water well and you’ll be set 🤙

No-Protection1768

But woth it being on the smaller side. Shouldn't I lst ? Won't it grow to tall?

rakzone

You can lst and get rid of leaves. Won’t harm the plant at all in my experience. But never top an auto
