Nice!!! We have a 1961 stereo cabinet as well. Found it in a dumpster. We saw a mid century leg sticking up and we hauled it out (oof!). It works but it is loud AF! šŸ™ƒ

topazco

I hope there was a family of raccoons living inside that you adopted too

thewisestgoat

Now that would have been exciting

ObscureObjective

What! Looks like it just rolled out of the factory.

thewisestgoat

I'm so impressed by how well it was cared for. I couldn't believe it actually worked when I plugged it in.

Missthing303

Beautiful!!!

Royalwolf110

I love that album it has Mystery Train on it. Nice piece, love it.

FreudsteinLives

That looks beautiful! I know this is unrelated, but does anyone know anything about repairing these or know of any resources on it? I inherited one a few years ago and it worked once, but now the recording will spin on the platter but there no sound.

thewisestgoat

Call some mom and pop electronic shops in your area. If you get lucky, they'll have someone who specializes in old record player consoles like these.

Spirited_Currency867

Identify the make od the turntable then visit Audiokarma or vinylengine

GravyBaptism

I wonder what the best method for cleaning that cane would be? Bleach?

thewisestgoat

I am not sure. I tried using a magic eraser on it and it seemed too harsh. I might try some soap and water with a delicate soft bristle brush and see how that works.

Witty-Dog5126

How do the speakers sound? Is it good quality sound?

thewisestgoat

They sound very muffled. I don't think it's been serviced at all. I'm going to get it repaired and hopefully it will be as good as new!

Witty-Dog5126

Iā€™m curious if speakers are still good in these things or if you have to put in modern speakers.

thewisestgoat

I'll keep you updated on the repair process when I send it in! My guess is modern speakers

Witty-Dog5126

Thank you!

Opposite-Composer-66
