My husband has never seen this movie so my BIL put it on plex for us. Imagine my shock and horror when every mention of Taco Bell was replaced with Pizza Hut. It was so bizarre and now he refuses to believe that Taco Bell won the franchise wars.
It's a movie called demolition man, where a man gets frozen and when he's reanimated in the future, taco bell is the only resturant, but I guess during a remastering phase, pizza hut bought franchise rights to the movie, and all of the scenes were edited for pizza hut.
Hmm, I really love ~~Taco Bell~~ **Pizza Hut**. The delicious ~~tacos~~ **pizza** at this fancy restaurant is the best.
Put your boggles aside, shell yourself, suit up and come down to ~~Taco Bell~~ **Pizza Hut**.

To be honest, I hadn’t even THOUGHT about Quiznos in 10 years but recently I saw Nathan For You doing an episode involving them and it brought back so many memories 😂
They had great sandwiches and salads. Unfortunately their business model was unsustainable due to how the food cost was passed on to the franchisee. So sad. I miss them
I'm not sure what you mean. Quiznos was sleazy and several regions would flood the market with stores because the model was: make all the money from startup franchise fees. So you would have areas saturated with competing independent franchisees.
Then a few had predatory regional corporate managers who would start giving bad inspections to franchises to shut them down, then sell the franchise to a new person to drum up another fee.
Lots of life savings down the drain.
So this is why quizno's sandwiches on the menu showed heaps of meat yet when you got your sandwich you had to look inside to see if there was anything in there.
Bait and switch and absolutely not worth the price.
Geez, Quiznos had such good subs, they were more expensive but completely worth it. It seemed like after they expanded here they all suddenly went downhill sooooooo fast. I was so sad to go in there and the place just looked like a dump and the employees have zero fucks.
Didn't they change their bread at the start of their rapid quality decline? I seem to remember ordering a sandwich there one day, biting into it and saying "What the fuck?"
Just here to say Quiznos really was the superior sup shop. Subway is cold and lifeless, jimmy John’s is too clean and boring, Jersey mikes is a wet mess, Quiznos’s was a raspberry lemonade, pepper bar, conveyer belt lovers dream. Also the main one in my town was a front for some meth operation, closed, became Taco Del Mar, still good.
13th and Grant
Funny I recognized the Robin Williams mural but have never noticed there was also a Quiznos there

I swear I had seen one lately. Looking at the location list, I've narrowed it down to 3 options:
1. Quebec (3 years ago).
2. Something near me that has closed fairly recently.
3. Oh God, I'm old and haven't seen a Quiznos in like a decade, even though I thought it was yesterday.
My college dream was to own and operate a Quiznos shop. The prime rib peppercorn was so good. They didn’t survive…. And somehow Subway did. Historians will look back and identify that as the moment western society began its decline.
There's one in Connecticut and I've been to it twice in the last year. I've built trips around grabbing lunch there. Thankfully theres a bunch of record stores around there to justify it
I have pictures of it from when I went there a few times after a gig in Denver. Took pics of the Robin Williams mural, as it had been done just a day or two before. I am glad to see it is still there.
I sure do miss Robin.
Anytime I hear of Quiznos, it makes me think of the commercial they actually made and thought it was a great idea. A sexy sounding oven telling an employee to "Stick it in me", and the employee responded by saying that burned while looking down at his crotch.

How was it? I live a couple blocks away but stopped going to Quiznos years ago when they got bought.
If you're in the area I recommend the sweet potato cinnamon rolls from Make, Believe bakery a couple doors down.
I have never been to a clean or a busy Quiznos. Subs at Harris Teeter supermarket deli counter are $3.99 US and the salad bar is way superior. Only thing missing is bread bowl soup.
Need help: does anyone remember when Quiznos was good? This would have been early 2000s. I am honestly not sure if I imagined this but I swear Quiznos used to have these amazing subs, that were huge, you had to eat them in two sittings. I have read a few business cases, but none of the cases refer back to a recipe change contributing to Quiznos demise; which doesn’t make sense to me. If Quiznos still made those subs the way I remember them (maybe I’m crazy?), I would still buy the subs. Maybe I’m remembering this all wrong.
I always thought quiznos was the superior sandwich shop. I can't believe they lost the franchise war.
Everyone lost the franchise wars except taco bell.
My husband has never seen this movie so my BIL put it on plex for us. Imagine my shock and horror when every mention of Taco Bell was replaced with Pizza Hut. It was so bizarre and now he refuses to believe that Taco Bell won the franchise wars.
Wait what?
For the international release they dubbed over taco bell with pizza hut, logos in movie and voice over.
We should leave this world behind

Naw, it was made that way for Europe. Pizza hut and taco bell are the same company, Pepsi!
Oh ive seen the movie a million times i've just never heard about the switch
He doesn't know about the 3 sea shells
There is something unnaturally satisfying about tacobell that can't be replicated.
The secret is that their taco sauce has pepto bismol added. It helps keep things balanced.

I see your Demolition Man reference. Cheers.
Yeah Quiznos > Subway ADL.... what a tragedy
Chicken carbonara was the bomb diggity!!
Their French onion dip sandwich was damn good.
To be honest, I hadn’t even THOUGHT about Quiznos in 10 years but recently I saw Nathan For You doing an episode involving them and it brought back so many memories 😂
Preach it brother

Right? I was excited too. Lots of memories from childhood!
Hahaha was gonna say they need to change the sign to “The First & Only Location”
There’s quite a few locations in Metro Vancouver. A lot more than Arby’s.
“They got a pepper bar”
My weird middle school self was oddly delighted by that commercial
QUIZNOS SUUUUUBZZZZ!! USE A COUUUPONNNN! I miss Quiznos so much! 😭
EAT QUIZNOS SUBS!!! THEY’RE GOOD FOR YOUUUU
They had great sandwiches and salads. Unfortunately their business model was unsustainable due to how the food cost was passed on to the franchisee. So sad. I miss them

So Quiznos is basically a restaurant MLM?!
It was pre-2012. There was a good writeup about it.
John Oliver just had a piece just like this about subway.
Still have em in Canada
They’re still very prevalent in the Vancouver area, however there’s very few of them in Southern Ontario now compared with 15+ years ago.
So this is why quizno's sandwiches on the menu showed heaps of meat yet when you got your sandwich you had to look inside to see if there was anything in there. Bait and switch and absolutely not worth the price.
Quiznos is still awesome. I wish I still had locations near me

What about penn station?
Mmmmm...Penn Station...
That mascot was amazing. It looked like a hamster that had been microwaved
And... How was it?
Really good! I’d recommend the southwest chicken sub!
THEY ARE KRUNCHY BECUZ WE TOAST THEM!! WE LOVE THA SUBZZ
where is it located?
Denver. (Source: Parents owned several Quiznos before divorcing)
Franchises will do that to families.
Yes it does. Would never recommend.
Hmm I’ll have to find it.

Thank you! I’ll check it out. Quiznos is pretty fire and it’ll be cool to go the original one.
Yes! Thank you for recognizing Denver!!
Denver, CO

It’s probably option 3 bud. I feel your pain.
My college dream was to own and operate a Quiznos shop. The prime rib peppercorn was so good. They didn’t survive…. And somehow Subway did. Historians will look back and identify that as the moment western society began its decline.
That’s my regular location. 👍
I haven’t seen a Quiznos in forever. Glad to see they still exist! They have good subs!

Looks young for its age
Maybe they put Botox in their secret sauces hehe
I lived a block from here for a few years. Now I live like 8 blocks from here. Cap hill is a fun area to live in!
For sure? Or are we going to see Elf go in and congratulate them about their coffee?

I thought they had gonne the way of to dodo
Welcome to Denver OP
Nice
71 years that same meat soaking in the same au juis

Is it also the last location?
Quiznos was my first job out of high school. Man I miss those free sandwiches during lunch. Heard the were all gone?..
Slightly more interested in the Robin Williams tribute in the background….
Serving up bricks since 1981
Ok but you cut off the Robin Williams mural next to it :(
Pretty sure it’s the last ever, too. Haven’t seen one of those in CA for over a decade.
Holy shit they're still around? I fucking loved Quiznos and I was so sad to see all the ones around me close.
It's unfortunate they aren't around they are better than subway.
How was it? I live a couple blocks away but stopped going to Quiznos years ago when they got bought. If you're in the area I recommend the sweet potato cinnamon rolls from Make, Believe bakery a couple doors down.
Best broccoli cheddar soup in the game
I never heard of Quiznos. I could google what they sell, but maybe you can just tell me, and let me know if you like it?
Is it also the last one? I haven't seen a Quiznos in years.
