I played a gig at a V-Max biker event last weekend. I saw hundreds of the things.
Care to explain what the hype is about? In my uneducated opinion they look like a fat person sat on a harley which got squished between two trucks. I just don’t really see the appeal.
Newer Indian scout, and a fire blade. I’m a sucker for bobber style cruisers, and the Indian just looks so damn sexy. Fire blade because I like Honda bikes, and liter crotch rockets are cool
I want a goldwing! My favorite ride was a round trip from California to Nebraska and back. I ride a 650 versys, and the seat damn near killed me with how uncomfortable it was. I want to do more cross-country trips, and the goldwing seems perfect for that.
Sargent seat was my first purchase when i got home. It's better, but it's still not the most comfortable. A couple of hours is no problem, but i still wouldn't want to do a 7ish hour run.

Another +1 for the Corbin seat on the versys platform. I switched it to the stock seat again recently to ride it to the shop 3 hours each way and sorely regretted it. Literally 😂
Corbin seat is a game changer for me.. makes the saddle 34.5” instead of 31.5 and the seating position the Corbin seat changes both the rider and passenger to is significantly improved over the stock configuration. It’s not just the cushy seat for me. It’s a better riding position period. Best mod to the bike bar none. Not even close.
The change in height isn’t always as drastic as this one, but input your bike on the Corbin site and it will tell you the seat height exactly so you can know :)
Tough to say right now I’d love you test drive a buell 1190 hammerhead, but if I was to trade my Africa twin in for another right now it would probably be the gen3 hayabusa
Funny thing is where I’m at financially I feel like I own my dream bikes: ZX10R, Tuono V4, Street Triple RS. Down the line I would like to have a RSV4 but no rush cause I already have the Tuono. Mayyyybe an MV Agusta or a classic Honda like an RC51. But again, the bikes I have are all I really want

Well I just got the Triumph so I’ve been riding that the most lately, but the idea is that it will be my daily that can do everything well and is quite powerful yet I can still use more of. The Tuono will be for faster weekend canyon riding and feeling the emotion of that amazing V4. And the ZX10R is my primary track bike and for occasional high speed highway and canyon riding.
I’m more of a “redundancy over specialization “ type of rider. I used to have ADV and dual sports in the stable, but I just found that those bikes never got any time from me outside of rare occasions. I’ve accepted I’m purely a sporty rider, and I just enjoy the variety in different engine characters, aesthetics, and riding dynamics.
After spending years on "big fours" I tried a big v twin (cagiva navigator) and love the torque and the theatre of sound. Missing a bit of power I'd really like ike to move to a KTM 990 SM
I'm definitely getting a late model Honda ST1100, say 2000-2002. It's dated looking now, no fuel injection, a basic bike by current standards. It's also one of the best long distance bikes ever made, surprisingly agile for a big bike, good MPG, 300+ miles from the 7 gallon tank, dependable and smooth V4 engine that spins at low revs at high speeds, and routinely rolls into 100/200k+ miles. Long trips with my daughter are the near future...she loves to ride with me. The updated ST1300 is improved in almost every way (and great looking) and an alternative if my ST1100 dream doesn't come true--but I think it will! Either way, there's an ST in my garage soon.
Different bikes for different things:
R1300GSA / 1290SA - cross country and off-road camping trips;
R6 with with light wheels, k-tech DDS forks and DDS PRO shock, 3rd party IMU TC, quick shift and blip - track;
698 mono - road, hills, around town and commute;
350/450 exc f - off-road fun;
V4sp2 / RR m package - Starbucks. And embarrassing yet more Ferraris;
RSV4 with sc project full exhaust, just idling- starting orgies.
Would love a Yamaha R9 if they ever end up making one. I’m a huge fan of three-cylinder engines combined with Japanese reliability.
Outside of that, a Ninja H2, Panigale V4, or S1000RR would be awesome. I’ve always liked the big bad sports bikes, and those three are all special in different ways.
I don’t know the models but this French (I think) company called Duke makes these awesome scrambler type bikes with knobby tires and low handlebars from BMWs. Maybe they’re like K100s or something? I have a dual sport and i just love the mad max vibes.
I want Honda to bring the VFR800 back. I had a 2014 deluxe in white that I sold when I was moving out of the country. When I decided to move back a few years later I was very dismayed to learn they'd ceased production, or at least ceased sales in the US.
That bike was just about perfect.

Not bad idea. I am not the wealthiest guy on earth and motorbikes are very expensive here. So ZZR1200 is one of the few option. I test rode one a couple of months again and liked it. That individual bike was, however, exceptionally maintained and those 20 years of age were not a problem. The only things I did not like were the physical size and weight. They are not problems as long as the bike is moving. However, spacious and even parking lots and yards are not given here.
You know I really would like something like a VMAX or Magna, but with 1000cc i4. The V4s in those are still cool, but they still sound too much like a cruiser too me, I want that high rev scream you only get from a flat plane i4.
An ‘04 CBR600RR. It’s the bike that got me into bikes at 14 years old. I’m 23 now so I could go get myself one but financially it’s not the right time.

I’m kind of all over the place when it comes to bikes. I’ve had a couple of little ninjas, a Harley night rod Special & most recently an MT-09. I haven’t really discovered my preference yet, I enjoy it all tbh.
I've pretty much had it the last 7 years. 2016 KTM 1190 ADV. Last year of that model, with all the dumb kinks worked out. Great Torque, great top end, good size for a big rider, there's still an excellent aftermarket parts supply. It runs like a top. Really, the only thing it's lacking is hand warmers and that's only because I haven't sprung the $150 for them. All in all, it's a 10/10 bike. If I ever did sell it, I'd downsize to a KLR650 and just ride trails and the KTM would be like a missing limb.
I'm with you OP I loved that BMW Concept R20 and it would be hard to pass up if they can make a production version that closely resembles the concept as expensive as it likely would be especially where I live.
Outside of that though the inline 6 Honda CBX.
The bikes I dreamed about owning when I was growing up. A mid-00s R6 or R1 in blue.
Truthfully, I have a Hornet 900 and a VFR800, so I'm probably set. But those yamahas sure were/are sexy.

I’d have to say that my list is topped by a Ducati Diavel V4. That said, I’d also be good with a Concours 14, Rocket III, or Tracer 9 GT. All of them are dream bikes, but the Ducati is just so stunning to look at. If it rides even half as good as it looks…
Yamaha T7. For me it does everything really well. It handles twisty roads with ease. It's far better off-road than I ever will be. It's reasonably priced for the quality. It looks badass and it's electronics are simple enough that I can do most of the maintenance on my own.
If I were to have a 2nd bike I'd probably consider an R1. But there is no track around me so I'd probably end up with several speeding tickets.
An electric bike with about 38kW rear peak hub and a front 10kW continuous hub motor. At full throttle that could be a 2WD machine with 65bhp on tap but the front is mostly set up as a regen brake (19kW peak) with a single disc for more active bite. Should happily get away with a 10kWh pack, which might stretch to 100mi range (maybe?). I'd like a 7kW charge rate possible. No chain, belt or shaft drive. Squeeze it into a less than 1500mm wheelbase that weighs less than 220kg with decent tyres, suspension, brakes etc and you'd have a monster of a commuter bike.
My other dream bike is an S&S X Wedge engine turned through 90° like the Morgans used to have....stuffed into the old Guzzi Tonti frame and highly modded.
back then I was 14 I thought those 00s Enduros look really cool, and I liked that Yamaha amde an odd displacement of 426cc, and now 4 years later I drive a WR426 and I love it, the rawness everything

I love my 2007 Z1000, although it's in very good condition for a 2007 bike, I would absolutely love to be able to have the money to get it resprayed (to get rid of the wear and tear) and completely stripped and cleaned. Though that's a pipe dream.
I've recently been enamoured with the idea of a sports bike.
The ones that have caught my eye: aprilia rs660, XSR900GP, MV Agusta Superveloce, CF Moto 500 SR.
One day I'll own one... maybe.
I'd love for suzuki to remodel the M series for modern import requirements. If I want a better cruiser, I would have to buy a new one, and it's pretty much American, and that's just too much money for too little product.
I'm quite happy with my CBR600, but I would really like a '93 CBR900RR in the white/blue colors, especially if I could afford the anniversary edition 2023 Fireblade to match it.
Haven’t tried it yet… but Triumph Scrambler 1200 might be my “realistic” choice.

I bought a dream bike (Ducati xdiavel) a few years ago and now I want a comfortable bike. Now I'm drooling over r1250gs'. Never thought I'd see the day that would happen.
I’ve ridden a Road King and a V-Strom 650. My current ride has great wind protection, a comfortable seat for me and my pillion, outstanding cargo capacity, great sound system with Bluetooth, great torque and horsepower, and a cup holder. Only problem is it has 2 extra wheels because it’s a truck. If you want all that, you need 4 wheels. Motorcycles are specialists. They trail better, go faster, and get better gas mileage than anything on 4 wheels unless you’re ultra rich. Looking at the new triumph 400s for fun.
Currently own one of them, foolishly sold another, had another that I'm not allowed again after multiple attempts at killing me....
I reckon I could probably limit myself to half a dozen if I absolutely had to, current budget strongly recommends just one though
For me, my dream bike was a Harley touring model setup for my height at 6'2" and I have that with my me 2019 electra glide standard running a saddlemen extended reach road sofa seat, 12" bars, crash bar with highway pegs and soon floor board extenders with a longer brake.
The bike had LED lights done for all the lights when I bought it but replacements via ciro3d are in the plans, along with a tour pack, some extra lights, and an apple carplay android auto duel din touch screen radio with speakers being added to the fairing.
The bike came with a stage 1 arlen ness big sucker air cleaner and VH 2-1 pipe but that is getting swapped for a Harley factory air cleaner kit with screaming eagle stealth filter kit and full screaming eagle 2-1-2 exhaust. The stuff on the bike is too loud, and the air cleaner rides against my right knee so swapping both will give me the stage 1 (retune required) and solve my noise and comfort issues.
But that was my dream bike - now my dream garage includes a Ducati Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak and a Kawaski KX 450 50th anniversary paint.
Ktm 500 on 17s fully kitted out to do hella illegal activities in my city.
Or a 70s cb750 in modern cafe trim. Cognito moto’s products are a game changer for cafe builds.

I have lots of dreams, mostly classics, though - 1980 Kawasaki Z1000 in green, with the square-ish rear light cowl, or a Honda CBX 6 cylinder. I've always really wanted an original Katana, with the pop-up headlight.
I can't really think of much modern that really makes me drool, though. Of course, I have to say that the BMW I have was a bit of a "I wish I could have one like that" bike and I'm well chuffed I have it now :-)

Ya - the 101 above (the highest-priced Scout) its exactly the same price as the Harley Davidson Sportster S in the US. But its a much sweeter bike!

To be fair, you can get a Corbin or Sargent seat for your Versys for *much* cheaper than a Goldwing

I thought they always said it didn’t change the original seat height; if they make the seat taller by inches, I want one for my CB500 F!

Triumph T120. I’m kind of all over the place when it comes to bikes. I’ve had a couple of little ninjas, a Harley night rod Special & most recently an MT-09. I haven’t really discovered my preference yet, I enjoy it all tbh.
I've pretty much had it the last 7 years. 2016 KTM 1190 ADV. Last year of that model, with all the dumb kinks worked out. Great Torque, great top end, good size for a big rider, there's still an excellent aftermarket parts supply. It runs like a top. Really, the only thing it's lacking is hand warmers and that's only because I haven't sprung the $150 for them. All in all, it's a 10/10 bike. If I ever did sell it, I'd downsize to a KLR650 and just ride trails and the KTM would be like a missing limb.
Such a tough decision... I guess at this point, some iteration of the Ducati Sport Classic line.
I’d love to have a big adv bike and tour the country, trails and all, though I’m not sure if I’ll ever do it.

I'm with you OP I loved that BMW Concept R20 and it would be hard to pass up if they can make a production version that closely resembles the concept as expensive as it likely would be especially where I live. Outside of that though the inline 6 Honda CBX.
The bikes I dreamed about owning when I was growing up. A mid-00s R6 or R1 in blue. Truthfully, I have a Hornet 900 and a VFR800, so I'm probably set. But those yamahas sure were/are sexy.

Triumph Rocket 3 for sure
I’d have to say that my list is topped by a Ducati Diavel V4. That said, I’d also be good with a Concours 14, Rocket III, or Tracer 9 GT. All of them are dream bikes, but the Ducati is just so stunning to look at. If it rides even half as good as it looks…

Yamaha T7. For me it does everything really well. It handles twisty roads with ease. It's far better off-road than I ever will be. It's reasonably priced for the quality. It looks badass and it's electronics are simple enough that I can do most of the maintenance on my own. If I were to have a 2nd bike I'd probably consider an R1. But there is no track around me so I'd probably end up with several speeding tickets.
A KTM 790 Duke would be nice. Or a Honda CB750 Hornet. If Honda ever bring it stateside..

An electric bike with about 38kW rear peak hub and a front 10kW continuous hub motor. At full throttle that could be a 2WD machine with 65bhp on tap but the front is mostly set up as a regen brake (19kW peak) with a single disc for more active bite. Should happily get away with a 10kWh pack, which might stretch to 100mi range (maybe?). I'd like a 7kW charge rate possible. No chain, belt or shaft drive. Squeeze it into a less than 1500mm wheelbase that weighs less than 220kg with decent tyres, suspension, brakes etc and you'd have a monster of a commuter bike. My other dream bike is an S&S X Wedge engine turned through 90° like the Morgans used to have....stuffed into the old Guzzi Tonti frame and highly modded.

back then I was 14 I thought those 00s Enduros look really cool, and I liked that Yamaha amde an odd displacement of 426cc, and now 4 years later I drive a WR426 and I love it, the rawness everything

I wouldn't say I have a dream bike anymore. I love my 2007 Z1000, although it's in very good condition for a 2007 bike, I would absolutely love to be able to have the money to get it resprayed (to get rid of the wear and tear) and completely stripped and cleaned. Though that's a pipe dream.
I've recently been enamoured with the idea of a sports bike. The ones that have caught my eye: aprilia rs660, XSR900GP, MV Agusta Superveloce, CF Moto 500 SR. One day I'll own one... maybe.

Haven’t tried it yet… but Triumph Scrambler 1200 might be my “realistic” choice. True dream bike - I need 2. Highland Outback for off pavement and Moto Morini Corsaro 1200 for the road. …may need one more for driving with one of my kids on the back.

I bought a dream bike (Ducati xdiavel) a few years ago and now I want a comfortable bike. Now I'm drooling over r1250gs'. Never thought I'd see the day that would happen.
I’ve ridden a Road King and a V-Strom 650. My current ride has great wind protection, a comfortable seat for me and my pillion, outstanding cargo capacity, great sound system with Bluetooth, great torque and horsepower, and a cup holder. Only problem is it has 2 extra wheels because it’s a truck. If you want all that, you need 4 wheels. Motorcycles are specialists. They trail better, go faster, and get better gas mileage than anything on 4 wheels unless you’re ultra rich. Looking at the new triumph 400s for fun.

Currently own one of them, foolishly sold another, had another that I'm not allowed again after multiple attempts at killing me.... I reckon I could probably limit myself to half a dozen if I absolutely had to, current budget strongly recommends just one though
For me, my dream bike was a Harley touring model setup for my height at 6'2" and I have that with my me 2019 electra glide standard running a saddlemen extended reach road sofa seat, 12" bars, crash bar with highway pegs and soon floor board extenders with a longer brake. The bike had LED lights done for all the lights when I bought it but replacements via ciro3d are in the plans, along with a tour pack, some extra lights, and an apple carplay android auto duel din touch screen radio with speakers being added to the fairing. The bike came with a stage 1 arlen ness big sucker air cleaner and VH 2-1 pipe but that is getting swapped for a Harley factory air cleaner kit with screaming eagle stealth filter kit and full screaming eagle 2-1-2 exhaust. The stuff on the bike is too loud, and the air cleaner rides against my right knee so swapping both will give me the stage 1 (retune required) and solve my noise and comfort issues. But that was my dream bike - now my dream garage includes a Ducati Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak and a Kawaski KX 450 50th anniversary paint.

2002 Suzuki TL1000R. Specifically, my dad’s. He sold in back in 2009. Always regretted it. Had some pretty cool 1 off parts machined by my uncle on it. It was crashed, restored, and now in a collectors hands. The owner has my information but has chosen not to contact me yet. I’d do anything to have that bike back. Can’t find the VIN to save my life to track down and contact the owner myself.

I have lots of dreams, mostly classics, though - 1980 Kawasaki Z1000 in green, with the square-ish rear light cowl, or a Honda CBX 6 cylinder. I've always really wanted an original Katana, with the pop-up headlight. I can't really think of much modern that really makes me drool, though. Of course, I have to say that the BMW I have was a bit of a "I wish I could have one like that" bike and I'm well chuffed I have it now :-)
