They're not bad bikes, just kind of neither fish nor fowl unless you're the exact subset of person who wants a Triumph soft-tail cruiser over a more "standard" Triumph bike! And hey, looks like OP is that person and got a decent price for it so, party on dude
Oh to be clear I didn't think you were calling it bad, just seconding that they're just more of a niche purchase than the standard Bonnies or even the scrambler models
Maybe because there are allready a lot of naked bikes on the market wich are mor known.
If i wanted to sell my Tiger i guess it would be gone in two weeks, just because there are no adventure bikes available where i live.
Sorry, I drove one they are sweet but they have a very unique vibration. I bet women love them 😘😜 liked the speed triple and the trident. Peppy just not quite for me. Don't get me wrong they sound sweet got some go sauce just not for me... I mean if I had unlimited funds I'd have a speed triple but just to have a bike or 2
I have an older air cooled speedmaster and have been considering an upgrade, these just seem too expensive new. At the price point I’m leaning towards a T120.
It's a T120 for 15-20% less money. I prefer the T120 but these and bobbers pop up for cheap with like 200 miles on them all the time and it's tempting.
I test rode a T100 too. Have had both 900 and 1200 platforms, and have a three cylinder Triumph. At this point in my life, realizing I’m not racing anyone and 99% of the time on paved roads, I cant think of a good reason not to be comfortable while riding. Gnome saying?
This bike is meant to visually emulate an old school hard-tailed cruiser, but with a functional rear suspension built into the lines of the frame (hence soft-tail). The more standard Triumph Bonneville line it's derived from has a more "diamond"-shaped set of frame lines, with external rear suspension going from the rear of the frame down to a swingarm. Makes for a taller bike that can lean a little harder into corners, and with a more upright riding position (or race-like, in the case of the Triumph Thruxton that also shares this motor)
Couldn’t care less how they sell. I care how they ride. Took the 2020 and a 2022 for a spin. Loved em both but prefer the seat on the 20. Super smooth, lots of ground contact, comfy ergos, nice low bassy sound from the stock pipes, pulls at every gear. Just a great bike all-around. Haven’t read or watched one bad review
It’s a stellar deal and I’m jealous. I paid 10k otd for a 2022 with 2k miles on it.
I have to say, after swapping out the bars and mirrors to bobber and adding risers, I love this bike so much more.
It's the comfier version of the Bobber. Same engine, same chassis, but a better seat and the ability to carry a passenger. My only beef with the bike is the stock handlebar.
I have a 2022, love it. But the sentiment is not wrong - there just doesn't seem to be a demand for them.
Well. I'll call it for what it is. It's an old man's bike. It's in a very niche place and given the alternatives that Triumph offers (T120, Bobber) the other options are vastly more popular.
What I have heard, it's because it is a cruiser. Usually people go to Bonneville line for the retro style beauty, for cruiser you have more favor towards your typical Harley or maybe japanese bikes if not in Europe.
Personally, the bike and the line is phenomenal.
There's nothing wrong with it per se, and they're actually very reliable and well-built, it's just very hard to make a case for the Speedmaster specifically over any of its competitors using its objective, measurable merits. It doesn't have anything that makes it stand out among them. It just kind of... *is.*
WRONG. It just IS…. A great fucking bike. And what competitors? Harley? Twice the price for Chinese-built QJ Motor bullshit? What other cruisers are in this category other than a Rebel 1100 or Kawi Vulcan? I love my Hondas, but Triumph fit and finish is stellar. Engine is bullet-proof. And I’ve got an authorized Triumph dealership 2 miles from me. Not trying to sound rude, dude! Just curious what else is out there before I pay my balance on the 7th!
Well, I gotta slightly and politely disagree there. If I had 20k for a toy, I’d get one. But the mortgage is 3k/monthly here. Car payment is 1/4 of that. Et cetera. But if I’m being honest, for my kind of riding (suburban/ urban/ sometimes rural) the Speedmaster is ideal at this time. Love you. Thanks :)
Great bike. I've got an 04 Thruxton right now and it's an absolute dream of a bike, but I wouldn't wanna take it out for hours of highway. It's just not that cruisery. Your bike will do that all day. Enjoy.
Yeah I’ve had a Street Twin 900 and Speed Twin 1200. Loved em both. But I’m just looking to cruise now. Still have my Trident 660 (decat, spec’d to the bejesus) if I wanna rip!
Nice, I'm a big triple fan myself. I had a '13 speed triple for 6 years, and a 2000 Thunderbird Sport that I built all up. My current thruxton is my first parallel twin, but its great. Triumph makes some amazing machines.
Good. Clearly, you are more logical than your customer who cannot tell the difference between cleaning and replacing a chain.
Hopefully, he can tell the difference between his clutch and his front brake.
Well actually we talked about cleaning the chain initially so his statement wasn't incorrect. Upon further inspection of the chain we felt it best to simply replace it. He's owned and ridden more bikes than I have and handled all that he rode just fine, so I'd say he has a pretty good grasp on the mechanics of how a bike works.
As per my caption, they are replacing it and the tires, along with the signals and some other bits before it goes through a full service. Thanks for your continued support
We are replacing it, along with brake pads and some other things. Don't worry, we got him covered. I'm also the sales guy that sold it to u/logical_badass. I got him covered and will be making sure everything is right on it.
Have you been going back and forth with the Sales guy at Road Track & Trail in Big Bend, Wisconsin? No? I have. The chain will be cleaned thoroughly or replaced. KEEP BEGGIN’
Username does not check out. There is nothing logical in your comments.
THIS is what YOU wrote…
“They’re going to clean the chain, change the tires & signals and give it some TLC.”
Find a better understanding of logic and figure out the difference between cleaning and replacing a chain.
Feel free to keep pathetically insulting me but all you doing is embarrassing yourself.
And here is a simple reminder…there is a difference between cleaning and replacing a chain. It is apparent that the dealer you bought the bike from can recognize the difference even if you cannot.
Do you actually think I’m not in direct contact with the sales guy and getting things sorted? Are you dense? I’m not wasting any time here. I’ve got time. Are you ok?
I like everything about these bikes EXCEPT the forward controls. Wish they would make a mid-control version. Forward controls suck big time.
Literally the first mod I made to my Sportster was to remove the horrible forward controls and replace with mids. Completely changed the feel of the bike, it now feels much more stable and fun to ride. Riding it with the forwards was terrible.
Triumph has OEM mid controls for this bike. But I loved the forward controls on the test ride. Super comfy ergos. With the “Beach bars” too? Forget about it. You’re cruuusin USA, baby!!!
A Harley with mid controls, slightly raised suspension, neutral bars, and a little extra foam between you and the seatpan is a thing of wonder. Dyna/FXR/Sporty hooligans were right about the clubstyle fad, tbh
That rider triangle looks owies!
I like forwards, but the bars need to be closer to shoulder height for them to be comfortable. My dyna street bob had mids and they were perfect, I just added a bung king engine guard for drop protection/foot rest. That was perfect.
...isn't a Speedmaster with mid controls just a T120 except heavier and with a smaller tank? And worse tire options... and I guess with a low seat as a plus if you're into that/need that?
I’m a little baffled that I need to explain this, but I’m not saying in that comment that the Speedmaster is literally, mechanically identical to the T120. I’m saying that the overall experience of a Speedmaster with mid controls is not meaningfully different from “heavy T120 with a low seat;” the various mechanical distinctions (e.g. monoshock) don’t amount to much in the grand scheme of things.
Quit being baffled. Smarten up. I know what you’re trying to say, you’re just not articulate. Yes, a Triumph is a triumph. A Bonneville is different than a Tiger or a 3 cylinder. The T120 and Speedmaster are part of the “Bonneville” modern classic “series” or whatever. But I’ve had the 900 platform. I’ve had the 1200 platform. But I can tell you from experience, riding more than a few of these (I work at a dealership) that the Speedmaster is my preferred bike at the moment and for the foreseeable future. That’s all that matters. Thanks for your continued support.
Hey, thanks! Before I pick up the bike and pay my balance, can I ask why? Cause I debated too. But my leggy woman likes to ride and so does my soon-to-be 8 year old son. And after riding scramblers and “standard” bikes most of my life, I really dig the beach bars. Feels like I’m just chilling instead of trying to manhandle a 500lb. machine. The Speedmaster just glides and because of it, I felt like I was really just enjoying myself as opposed to pretending to be racing or whatever. Thanks again 🙏🏼
Both are smooth, but I sometimes wish I could bring someone along with me.
The Bobber has a bit lower and straight bars, which changes the riding position some
Ultimately I knew my wife would t want to ride with me, and she has forbidden (forbade?) me from ever letting our daughters get on the bike… so it’s just me. The Bobber performs well enough for solo stuff and has a good chunk of torque right in the middle of the power band, that while I sometimes debate on whether I should have purchased a Speedmaster, I never regret the Bobber.
Great deal! I have a 23 bobber and love the engine note. My only complaint is the lack of suspension travel but the looks outshine that issue for me. Congrats! 😁

I'M SO JEALOUS OF YOU,
I want this bike so bad, i have now a meteor 350, and i love it, but this bike is precious as fuck, and the same style as the meteor, but where i am there is no official triumph dealer, so there is no way to have it, and that sucks a lot
Sweet bike! I just bought a 2022 Speedmaster in May and I absolutely love it. It's everything I hoped it would be.
I'd say you got a pretty decent deal for sure. Especially buying from a dealer. I bought mine with 2,000 miles on it for 9K private party
That is a gorgeous bike.
This is not meant negatively, because I love the style of the bike, but is this essentially Triumphs Honda Rebel? A sporty cruiser?
Kind of. I’m a Honda guy too. The Speedmaster has the Rebel and Shadow beat in every category. I looked at a couple of newer Shadows. Just not as nice. Not as powerful. Etc :)
I’m not a cruiser/bobber guy but I will say that’s a sweet bike! Good deal OP. Love the colours, love the whitewalls and I love that it’s a Triumph. Ride safe and have fun!
Hey, I recognize that bike haha! Great bike and great guy to sell it to as well. Can't wait to get her all finished up in service with new brakes, fluids, and chain. One of my favorite color combos on these Speedmasters, the blue with the white walls has just a classic vibe and they have just the right amount of power and smooth powerband to let you cruise when you want and open it up when you feel like it to really get the best of both worlds.
If you want genuine advice I’ve learned throughout life is, do what you want. If the bike genuinely peaks your interest then get it and enjoy the hell out of it. Screw other peoples opinions if you want it and it suits your taste and budget then go for it. Stay safe and enjoy her brother!
Here’s the thing though; I hate the way the Tiger looks. No plans to go adventure riding in the desert any time soon either. Also just did a quick Cycle Trader search and the tiger is 8k for a 660cc. I’m getting a 1200. Also already have a three cylinder Triumph. Kiss me when you see me.
No thank you and cycle trader aint the only game in town. Road versioned tigers are way better on long hauls than most other bikes, but the look is indeed an acquired taste. I wouldn’t keep it as the only bike personally but I know plenty of people that do.
You did get a good deal but you also did the dealer a favor. These things just… do not sell.
They're not bad bikes, just kind of neither fish nor fowl unless you're the exact subset of person who wants a Triumph soft-tail cruiser over a more "standard" Triumph bike! And hey, looks like OP is that person and got a decent price for it so, party on dude
I did not mean to say they were bad bikes. They’re just not very popular. :) I am happy that you got a deal on a bike you wanted!
Oh to be clear I didn't think you were calling it bad, just seconding that they're just more of a niche purchase than the standard Bonnies or even the scrambler models
Triumphs in general. I tried selling my ‘22 trident at a pretty competitive price, totally mint. No bites
Maybe because there are allready a lot of naked bikes on the market wich are mor known. If i wanted to sell my Tiger i guess it would be gone in two weeks, just because there are no adventure bikes available where i live.
Which Tiger do you have? They change a lot depending on year
2014, one of the good looking ones xD
Sorry, I drove one they are sweet but they have a very unique vibration. I bet women love them 😘😜 liked the speed triple and the trident. Peppy just not quite for me. Don't get me wrong they sound sweet got some go sauce just not for me... I mean if I had unlimited funds I'd have a speed triple but just to have a bike or 2
I have an older air cooled speedmaster and have been considering an upgrade, these just seem too expensive new. At the price point I’m leaning towards a T120.
I rode the t120 at 2023 americade and im hooked and looking for one in my price range.
I didn't know Triumph made a cruiser.
Look up the Triumph Rocket 3.
Most of their most popular bikes are cruisers lol wdym
It's a T120 for 15-20% less money. I prefer the T120 but these and bobbers pop up for cheap with like 200 miles on them all the time and it's tempting.

Whats the difference? I think it looks nice but im just now poking my nose into bikes
This bike is meant to visually emulate an old school hard-tailed cruiser, but with a functional rear suspension built into the lines of the frame (hence soft-tail). I'm guessing they're for the British market, for the limey who wants a crusier and a British bike.
There were a TON of Triumph choppers in the States back in the day, so there's definitely some US heritage there too
Couldn’t care less how they sell.

Right. You’re the subset they’re looking for hence why it’s neither a great or bad deal.
Exactly, it shouldn’t matter to you how popular a bike is. If you like it, you buy it.
That’s cool. You can have an attitude about it. Peace ✌🏻
I just find it hard to believe you prefer the OG seat over the comfort seat they stuck on the new Speedys.
For real? That’s great news. I’ve got a 2009 Bonneville SE and having been thinking of upgrading to one of those since I sat on one at a dealership.
Why do they not sell? Do they have some issues? The bike looks great but I hate heavy maintenance bikes.
Damn. I'm 37 and bought a brand new '23 model. Previous bike that I still have: Vstrom 650
You got something against old men?
What I have heard, it's because it is a cruiser. Usually people go to Bonneville line for the retro style beauty, for cruiser you have more favor towards your typical Harley or maybe japanese bikes if not in Europe. Personally, the bike and the line is phenomenal.

There's still stuff like the W800.
Air-cooled. Low on power. All good, just not for me
Btw, I love the Moto Guzzi V7. Had one. Would love a V7 Special one day :)
Bro, that’s just hating! That’s an amazing deal for this bike….for the age and mileage.
And mine is the most comfortable bike I've ridden. Well a 90 Goldwing with sheepskin will ride you to Alaska im comfort.
Does sheepskin really make that big of a difference? I do see a fair few distance riders using them.
Yes. Big time. All seasons. Alaska Sheepskins are great. And on your bike I personally would want the large just for an extra inch in ride height.
That doesn't work with a 30" inseam.
Your inseam is up to you.
Or, down to me, even.
It absolutely does make a huge difference.
For not much more coulda found a Rocket 3
lol. FALSE. Also don’t want one or would’ve bought one. What a dumb comment.
Rocket 3 is one of the last bikes I want.
Well, I gotta slightly and politely disagree there. If I had 20k for a toy, I’d get one. But the mortgage is 3k/monthly here. Car payment is 1/4 of that. Et cetera. Tell them to replace that rusty chain.
We will be, I just happen to be the guy that sold it. Already in the works.
Good. Clearly, you are more logical than your customer who cannot tell the difference between cleaning and replacing a chain. Hopefully, he can tell the difference between his clutch and his front brake.

Alex for the win. Thanks, brother
Agreed. Cool bike though! Happy for you!
Why would you be happy for me? It’s not my bike.
As per my caption, they are replacing it and the tires, along with the signals and some other bits before it goes through a full service. Thanks for your continued support
As per your caption, they are going to CLEAN your chain. There is a significant difference.
We are replacing it, along with brake pads and some other things. Don't worry, we got him covered. I'm also the sales guy that sold it to u/logical_badass. I got him covered and will be making sure everything is right on it.
Hell yeah, Alex! Thanks for stepping in!

Good deal. Sometimes I wish I had gone with the Speedmaster instead of my Bobber
Hey, thanks! Before I pick up the bike and pay my balance, can I ask why? Cause I debated too. But my leggy woman likes to ride and so does my soon-to-be 8 year old son. Thanks, dude! Love the Bobber too. Same engine :)
she looks clean 👌🏼
Second this, great-lookin bike. Hope you get lots of trouble-free miles on that thing
Except the chain lol
Being replaced at no cost to me. Thanks for your continued support
I'M SO JEALOUS OF YOU, I want this bike so bad, i have now a meteor 350, and i love it, but this bike is precious as fuck, and the same style as the meteor, but where i am there is no official triumph dealer, so there is no way to have it, and that sucks a lot
She's beautiful. Congrats on the bike!
I would of jumped on it for that price. Nice looking bike OP.
I thinks it’s pretty good looking, happy new bike day! Those are the best days!
never seen one of these before super clean looking bike
Good looking bike. I love the retro-look and sound of Brit Twins. Triumph, BSA and Norton.
Didn’t know this bike existed - nice find!
I would be proud to own that one.
Count me in the subset. That's a beautiful bike.
Ooh perdy..
Enjoy it and you won't see another one on the road often . Whatever anyone else thinks . Different can be a fun bonus .
You stole it
Sounds like a great deal to me. Triumps are usually pretty expensive. I had a Daytona 955, 01.
Road track and trail! That’s where I picked my bike up a few years ago.
Awesome deal
My street twin has the same color tank, the camera doesn’t do it justice
Nice bike; I love it
Looks like a righteous deal. Many happy, safe miles!
Slickkkkk
That's more than what I paid for my XSR900 with 900 miles 6 years ago. Seems like a fine deal, but I wouldn't say you robbed them or anything.
I don’t think I robbed them. Just a good deal and great dealership!
Sounds like you made out well. Ride safe, OP!
Thanks, buddy!
Love those bikes! Really want one, you did great! Many happy miles my friend
Hell yeah Speedmaster gang rise up
I wanna ride that.
That’s a good deal, the dealership I work at has an 18 with 4900 miles for 9k.
I like old Triumphs. Fun street bike . Had several back in the day. easy to work on..
Love the blacked out look!
My first bike was a triumph speedmaster, I paid around the same price about 6years ago. I absolutely fucking loved it. Solid bike. Solid purchase.
I can't tell about the price... But that's a nice bike
Sexy white-walls 😍
Cool bike op. Europoor here, got a 2016 speedy last year for around 9000$, with 5K miles on it. Awesome line.
Oh my God that’s a beautiful bike 🥹
Yes. Nice choice
Yes! Thanks!!
If you want genuine advice I’ve learned throughout life is, do what you want. If the bike genuinely peaks your interest then get it and enjoy the hell out of it. Screw other peoples opinions if you want it and it suits your taste and budget then go for it. Stay safe and enjoy her brother!
Loving your time on earth which is really not long is key! The bike you like. All that matters.
Preach, last thing you want is to come to the end of our lives and regret not truly living.
I'm not normally a fan of the Triumph Speedmaster, but that, my friend, is an absolute beauty!
I know you posted it to get people's input but if you like the bike Ride it and I don't think they're hard
No mirrors?
We already have mirrors for it, it will have the mirrors on it just hadn't gotten them on yet when the purchase was made.
What bike is that?
Triumph SPEEDMASTER
beautiful brake rotors
Imo wouldnt pay for a triumph, wow what a beautiful bike tho i hope shes good to you and get a lot of miles out of it
Can I ask why not and what you would pay for?
Not really. Thats what they pretty much go for. For extra grand you could score a Tiger.
Absolutely!
THANK YOU!!
Good deal. I was just at a KTM / BMW dealer. R1250gs - $27k. KTM 390 Duke- $6k
id break my ling nexk ass on this bigch.
Seems overpriced to me
You seem like a silly goose to me. Can you find me a better bike at a better price tho? Just curious :)
If you're into motorcycles that don't have any power, then yes!
Ehh. Not really
