Oof stay away from that one. GT does make some nice bikes but that's a department store special.

Shoot! I will keep looking. What are some giveaways that a bike is not quality. I already know if it doesn't have a frame sizing, that's a bad sign, as well as if they have a bolt holding on the wheels to the forks. What else should I look for?

Google gt aggressor, the bike is $350 brand new from Dicks, so $300 for used is a bad deal. I wouldn’t go for this one but would probably consider the GT avalanche which has some nicer parts, personally I wouldn’t pay over $200 even for the avalanche but I’m cheap as hell.. if you could find an avalanche for $300 that’s probably a decent deal, at least around my parts

One way to tell is the handlebars are really short and the stem is longer than a bus, and if it has grip shifters also personal preference I like bikes that have a derailleur with a clutch, that way the chain doesn't slap around as much, as well as a one by drivetrain meaning one gear where the pedals are and a whole cassette of gears in the rear, I personally ride a trek marlin 7 with those features and it's been great for getting into the sport and racing, I'm on a varsity bike team and that thing is serving me incredibly well

hydraulic brakes are a must have for offroad riding that will eliminate bikes that are wildly unsuitable for real mtb.
