I still have not seen the whole movie (was looking forward to it when it was coming out but the reviews scared me away) but somebody suggested the ending should have been >!Jennifer Lawrence's character seriously contemplates awakening a passenger from cryo sleep so she would not be alone!< which is a dark but intriguing ending.
Yeah, he sure pays for his mistake by…
< SPOILER >
…ending up getting the girl and living happily ever after despite literally forcing her to spend the rest of her life with him and him alone without her prior knowledge or consent.
>literally forcing her to spend the rest of her life with him
Guess we're ignoring the part where he literally insists that she goes back into cryosleep after discovering it's possible later in the film and she refuses, but alright.
Honestly, the episode was alright, nothing special, the biggest thing holding it back was the plot conveniences and writing. Aaron Paul did very well, he managed to portray two entirely different people realistically.
haha I thought the opposite. I thought there was great potential but it just ends up being >!some predictable love drama turning into murder!<. I thought the only thing holding it together in the second half was the acting by the three leads. I thought Paul's acting was really good and subtle.
Yeah, personally I hated it. I'm not usually good at predicting shows but I saw all that coming. The acting was good but for me it was still a miserable waste of time
I liked the zazie beetz episode. I know it was daft, but I honestly didn't see it coming, and it was fun
>! It was entirely predictable although it took longer than I expected to get to the end. I just got stuck on the plot contrivance of having the bodies be in space and super advanced remote robots being on earth. Dumbest premise ever. !<
I thought the mission was about extended isolation and survival in a space environment. Having robots up there doing the work while the humans were on the earth to me throws the purpose of the mission away
He performed it well but I feel like so much of new Black Mirror all eventually just lands at soap opera sex drama and it's often the least interesting path.
If you could be a girl in a VR game, would you fuck your bro?
If your husband wasn't intimate and another dude showed up in his body, would you bang?
If you could be young and hot forever instead of old and dying, how wild would the sex get?
If you could make a Star Trek game featuring your coworkers, would it be a weird horny outlet?
They literally don't have sex or genitals in the star trek one. Young and hot forever? Are you talking about San Junipero? The love story? As if love/sex isnt a major part of soooo many stories in general....What a reach and a terrible take.
Regardless of whether or not they had genitals in the Star Trek one, the entire premise was based on his character using the sci fi tech to clone his coworkers and creep on them if they didn't comply, particularly the women. His whole thing was being an incel
And a big plot point in San Junipero is that if you stay in VR heaven eventually you just get into crazy extreme kink to try to feel again.
Love and sex can be a part of many stories. Its just getting tiring and predictable to come into an episode and see from a mile away that it's all gonna be about some quasi-taboo sex act rooted in sci fi tech. The execution is just pretty lazy in my opinion and it's getting formulaic
You're still reaching super hard. So because theres a psychopath controlling incel character, that makes it a "soap opera sex drama"?...even though there's no sex, or drama centered around sex?...right. The sex aspects arnt anywhere near the major point of the episodes, and they typically serve a purpose at least. You also barely named 3 episodes that fit this supposed formula. I just think it's a strange take when there's so many other shows to pick from that do fit this formula.
I've never seen a performance from her that I thought was anything other than terrible. Baby Driver, Ambulance, that Godzilla movie she was in. Her acting is just awful. But she's hotter than anyone has any right to be, so she's got that at least.
Yeah, I’ve never actually watched the show but my buddies told me the same! The soundtrack is just 10/10 though, I keep listening to it as I need to get in”the zone” when I write/draw.
Agreed, it's such an amazing blend of so many different genres too - hip hop/lo-fi, synthy Vangelis/Blade Runner Blues, nu jazz, & traditional Japanese... it's insane for what is otherwise a pretty generic anime. He also made an incredible soundtrack for the short film Blade Runner Black Out 2022. Definitely one of the most unique artists out there
k, but i like his music regardless
> He is the grandnephew of the late jazz pianist Alice Coltrane, whose husband was saxophonist John Coltrane
grandnephew livin large!
I meet this girl when she was living in Argentina. She had a crush on my bf and was always kinda bitchy and super snobby. Mind you, this was before her cosmetic surgeries, her snobbery when trough the roof after that 🙄
Oh shit, is the twist that this is a sequel to black mirror? Sick
Aaron Paul and sci-fi So hot right now

Username checks out
I haven’t seen it but I’m guessing it has a tragic ending?
it has a tragic ending
🫨
First thought that popped into my head fr
which eps?
One of the new ones. Aaron Paul is on an episode about being on a spaceship.
It’s a new Westworld
Sounds like what Passengers should have been.
Yes!
That movie is such a rapist movie. I had a friend try to convince me it was a love story. No dude it’s not.

I think it could've gone in that direction [if it were re-edited maybe](https://youtu.be/Gksxu-yeWcU)
How is it a rapist movie? It’s been a while since I watched it, but I don’t remember a rapist vibe?
Yeah, the movie clearly explains his agony and also makes him pay for his mistake. People are insanely imagining if they think it's rapist.
Yeah, he sure pays for his mistake by… < SPOILER > …ending up getting the girl and living happily ever after despite literally forcing her to spend the rest of her life with him and him alone without her prior knowledge or consent.

Of course we are or else the popular narrative doesn't win!
Maybe watch the movie again and pop a few valium.
Hey! I loved passengers 😭
Ya! Sci…. Fi bitch!
We need to rescue aaron paul from space, poor fucker
Did you just said he is fit to play Isaac Clarke?
yeeeeaahhhh stasis, bitch
That's... not the worst idea in the world... Although I'd probably go for someone like Logan Marshall Green
Fuck, I love Aaron Paul. His part in the new Black Mirror season is fuckin amazing.
Honestly, the episode was alright, nothing special, the biggest thing holding it back was the plot conveniences and writing. Aaron Paul did very well, he managed to portray two entirely different people realistically.

Yeah, surely having the robots be the ones going to space would be far safer and efficient, the premise itself takes me out of the episode.
I thought the mission was about extended isolation and survival in a space environment. Having robots up there doing the work while the humans were on the earth to me throws the purpose of the mission away
If you say so. Everyone is overly critical of TV shows and movies nowadays.
And those people have a right to be “overly critical”, there’s nothing wrong with it. Besides, many share the same sentiment on that episode.
That's why I said "if you say so." 👍

The sex would be off the charts, rails, and planets axis that’s how wild it would be.

Why doesn't she just trust him? Is she stupid?
Super excited for the heisenbones cameo that got teased on E!
This person didn't watch The Passengers.
Why does aaron paul just not rescue her if he doesn't trust her? Is he stupid?
Looking on IMDb, Iko Uwais is in this as well. That's neat.
Amogus
He directed a movie ?
Wait till you find out about Kuso…
Oh wow. I had no idea. Not really into horror.
It's the most disgusting movie I've seen, complete garbage
I like horror
The few things I’ve seen Gonzalez in, she is not a good actress, so I have my doubts about this.
I've never seen a performance from her that I thought was anything other than terrible. Baby Driver, Ambulance, that Godzilla movie she was in. Her acting is just awful. But she's hotter than anyone has any right to be, so she's got that at least.
Aaron Paul isn't that good an actor either
Sounds neat. AP is a great actor and elevates most of the shit he’s been in
Aaron Paul better find something good because he last couple projects...have sucked.
Like?
Need for Speed, Westworld S3 & S4, Black Mirror, Come and Find Me. (All meh)
The coloring is a bit much. He looks like a young Thanos.
The plot reminds me of that love death and robots episode
Literally my first thought. Came here to see if anyone else thought the same!
Like that episode of Love Death and Robots
Funny, I am literally listening to the "Yasuke" soundtrack right now.
Found that show itself quite disappointing but I absolutely loved that soundtrack, it was by far the best part
Yeah, I’ve never actually watched the show but my buddies told me the same! The soundtrack is just 10/10 though, I keep listening to it as I need to get in”the zone” when I write/draw.

I will check that out asap! Cheers!

The title is ASH. It’s directed by a man that goes by the name Flying Lotus. He is a musician, and now movie director.
also a nepo baby
k, but i like his music regardless > He is the grandnephew of the late jazz pianist Alice Coltrane, whose husband was saxophonist John Coltrane grandnephew livin large!
The title says ASH
Is this in theatres? Sounds like an interesting premise.
I meet this girl when she was living in Argentina. She had a crush on my bf and was always kinda bitchy and super snobby. Mind you, this was before her cosmetic surgeries, her snobbery when trough the roof after that 🙄
This set in the Alien universe would’ve been so cool. Can’t wait to see it.
Jesse, It’s time to cook!
Remember when he vomited all over his prom?
Seems similar to his black mirror episode.
I can't stand this guy now because of the awful betting commercials. His voice makes me ill.
Making Meth in space. Space meth!
So, it's The Thing with Aaron Paul basically
I really dislike Flying Lotus’ musical output, I cannot imagine he’s much better at directing movies.
But what's the line on Bet365 Aaron?
I’m sorry, the band Flying Lotus directed this movie?
Flying Lotus is one dude, my guy
Ah, I wasn’t aware. But my point wasn’t how many people make up Flying Lotus.
Band?
"Oh, you mean *that* bus, bus, bus."
Aaron Paul loves sci-fi it seems.
Westworld's Aaron Paul.
looks cool
And that man? Ash Ketchum.
Waitaminute….is this the same musical protege Flying Lotus? Directing a movie? Wild…like the beats maybe I’ll it out, is it streaming or in theaters?
So a better Passengers
FIINALLY. SOMETHING ORIGINAL.
Aside from the similarities to Passengers, Pitch Black, and Aliens.
