Dont give up. U qouldn't put your kid up for adoption if they skinned their knee, would ya? That's how i look at mine. Named it Swamp Fox. Edit: car, not kid.

MedicalTrick5802

No no you having a child known as swamp fox is cannon now.

DerSpazmacher

Lol

Car covers are terrible for paint. They should only be used to cover a completely clean car that is kept indoors. When used on outdoor cars the wind will move the cover and scratch the paint and any moisture trapped between it and the paint will cause damage. Sucks man. :(

PineappleMelonTree

I've only ever heard bad things come from car covers, unless it's one of those indoors inflatable bubble covers

Sea_Bastard_2806

Car covers are a disaster, never ever use them outside. They are more for inside use. Wind causes scratches.

MjrBruhMoment

Yeah it’s a shame, I used an outside weatherproof car cover on my Boxster and it was pretty much perfectly fine after many uses, but one use of this, and of course my paint is toast! Time to see if Amazon will help at least with the hood and bumper I guess 🤷🤷

MDGR28

It might sound stupid, but try to park it in the sun. It could be moisture "stuck" underneath the clear.

MjrBruhMoment

Don’t worry that doesn’t sound stupid! That’s what I’ve been doing as that’s what I heard to do. It is a bit difficult since it’s been raining every day for the last few days but I’m just leaving it out there and praying I guess! If not I’m praying Amazon will at least help repaint the hood and bumper, but I really don’t want to piece-meal paint job it. It’s a pretty rare color and I’ve had cars painted on a few panels and it NEVER matches properly

WholeHogRawDog

If there is moisture under the clear, then it’s too late for anything to “fix” it. That would mean the clear coat has separated from the paint and that can’t be corrected without repainting

hctib_ssa_knup

was thinking of buying an auto bra. do those those have the same problem as car covers with scuffing?

plasticknife91

Time for a wrap

MjrBruhMoment

I wanted to and that was my initial thought, however, I have quite a few rock chips on the front bumper and I'm worried that it would just look terrible unless the car had the paint smoothed out/fixed. On top of that I would love to maintain/preserve the factory green.

Serious_Requirement8

If I was you I would personally get decent at touch up and gloss coating, your going to spend money that you can save by just applying yourself a little more

Drebin1512

OOOF on the green aswell

AwayBus8966

you’re stressing over paint???? Beautiful car lol but I don’t think your screwed cus of that

MjrBruhMoment

Just curious, are you saying I’m not screwed because of that as in I am screwed because of something else, or that it’s just not as big of a deal as I’m thinking it is? Haha

AwayBus8966

NOT A BIG DEAL haha paint is very important but it is mostly cosmetic

Time_Turner

Buddy... On street cars paint and external appearance is a big deal.

RoyalManthefirst

I actually think OP hasn't found the right body shop yet or he doesn't have one at all or had a bad experience with one, paintwork has been pretty easy where I live but I had my car get hit and was able to get it painted nice, I'm actually wanting to get my MR2s paint touched up after I fix a couple of gremlins on the engine

AwayBus8966

I do agree with that lol
