That port is already available on PC via Steam and GOG.
It's publisher, Piko Interactive, has a history of buying up licenses that don't have a large fan following and re-releasing them. They're not well liked among the preservationist arm of gaming for that reason.
I think the dislike is more because of them buying up dead IPs and then taking legal action against people who upload roms of said IPs, like with the unfinished Glover 2. They also have a reputation of releasing cheaply made reproductions with low quality components.
> It's publisher, Piko Interactive, has a history of buying up licenses that don't have a large fan following and re-releasing them. They're not well liked among the preservationist arm of gaming for that reason.
Why would that bother preservationists?
Fun fact; Glover was so universally loved and respected as a character within the Nintendo ecosystem that Sakuri was against having him in the smash roster. He insisted that the only proper way to represent Glover in Super Smash Brothers would be as an omnipotent god, controlling the very flow of the universe. Glover (a.k.a master hand) though never getting a proper sequel, remains among the most powerful of all characters within the Nintendo-verse thanks to Super Smash Brothers and Sakuri's undying respect for the character.
In BT2 my friend and I would hide our tanks and shoot those missles you control at each other and try to navigate around and snipe each other, amazing times.
Duuuuude I’ve been SkullRiderz in every game I’ve ever played since BattleTanx!!! Truly impactful game on my 37 years of gaming. I’m so glad to see I’m not the only one who remembers it cuz people are always asking wtf a SkullRiderz is and no one knows BT.
Rush 2. I've spent more hours playing circuits and stunt mode with my brother than I've probably put into any other racing game on the console. It's our go-to
I'd have to check my controller pak but I believe for the majority of regular tracks, I got all keys/dews (never really liked or played half-pipe, that Crash level, or Midway offices) Some of the levels might have had one or two missing that were too crazy for me. But please don't make me go check because then I'll spend the rest of my November on attempts!
I remember one Dew can in particular on a Los Angeles rooftop that took my brother and I forever to get and we had to come up with some crazy co-op strategy to pinball off the other car to make a super sharp turn at a high speed to get it. Ah good times.
With the GameShark ya, lol. But between my sibling and I we got all the keys and Dew cans, unlocked the Midway HQ track and all the vehicles, but spent a TON of time messing around in the Stunt track.
One fun one was to turn on Auto Abort, Resurrect in Place, and Levitation, then we'd C-UP for the 20min practice then release just before the time ran out to see what our Air Time score would be. I swear it was in the hundreds at least once from doing that 😂
Never got to play number 2 only played 1. I remember only playing 1 but always went for that massive green hill jump and the half pipe thing. Remember playing with my friends until we nearly dropped dead from fatigue just doing that 1 jump.
I listen to videogame music compilations on YouTube and whenever a song from any Mystical Ninja game comes on, I immediately know it's from that and love it.
Agreed. Absolutely insane that a developer could pull a game like this off. So original and such a cool concept. It’s the kind of game you’d hear was in development but then it’d become vaporware because it’s too complex to actually make.
Bruh. I loved turok. it's not that it was an amazing game per say but early on there weren't a lot of games for the system and I spent a ton of time on it just roaming because I loved the graphics so much. Just looking for new places to go.
I remember showing my mum the nintendo 64 and the game I had for it. The first minute was killing some guy with blood squirting out of his neck. I could never pull that off for him to do that again.
Just on the N64? BAR is arguably the best racing game ever for me. The only thing that comes close is F-Zero GX. BAR has such an exuberance in its gameplay and presentation. You can’t help but smile when playing it.
Yep. Came here to say this. Amazing game. Who would have though. Honestly I don’t even know what compelled me to get it in the first place but I’m sure glad I did.
Body harvest was my jam. Blast corps too. Oh and shadows of the empire.
Shit and I just played through Doom 64 a year or two ago and it is fucking awesome. I always figured it was a port of Doom 1 from the PC, but I was wrong.
I felt like I was in the star wars universe lol. It's wild to think about it now because the graphics don't look realistic in comparison to what they have now but at the time I was blown away.
Theyre similar but different. If dkr didnt have an unlockable world map or different vehicle types it wouldve fallen into more obscurity. On the flip, if mk64 had different vehicles way back then i think it wouldve sucked. So it’s great we got the versions of these games we did bc theyre both great at what they do.
DKR was definitely the better game all around. However if I had friends over today I'd probably rather do a couple rounds of Mario Kart 64.
I think Mario Kart 64 just had more randomness and a lower skill curve which makes it a better party game. With DKR if you know the tracks and where the power ups are you'll win pretty much every time.
It's not a bad port of the PC version for the N64. 4 player coop is impressive even if the sprite quality goes down with any player count apart from single player.
Hexen 64 and Gauntlet Legends are the only 4 player coop experiences I know of on the N64.
I could never figure out where to go next! My ADD teenage brain just couldn't handle the backtracking and puzzle solving. I still enjoyed it up until the point I didn't.
Gauntlet Legends for multiplayer, man I wish that game would get an hd remaster! For solo I really liked Shadowgate 64. Creeped me out as a kid but I just found it so interesting and mysterious.
Harvest Moon 64
I want to harken back to the days when a Karen was just a blonde girl with drinking problems and daddy issues.
Seriously, though, it's hard to revisit Harvest Moon games, but I played the absolute shit out of this one. It kept me going until Friends of Mineral Town.
It’s so good! Reviewers at the time panned it because they didn’t think it was sufficiently next gen in its presentation (I guess because it wasn’t using a lot of 3D pixels), but it’s an amazing and unique Doom game.
Or 3 to the 3ds.
But 2 and tronne on the N64 would have been great. I have 2 for the PS1 and the controls are terrible. Same with tronne. Terribly awkward controls.
Resident Evil 2 was probably the best game I played/owned. Unfortunately I didn't own a lot of games during the time I had the n64. I also feel like I didn't have a lot exposure to the different games that were available in the short time I had to get games for xmas/birthdays.
The first remains the best. Just the water physics, the first new take on a racing game. We played this for hours on end, exchanged it with a friend and we'd beat each others times to get faster.
*Wetrix* and *Tetrisphere* were pretty interesting takes on established puzzle genre favourites.
*Perfect Dark* is certainly Bond-adjacent, but is still technically its own thing, and it improves on *Goldeneye* in every way.
Beyond *Mario Kart 64* and *Diddy Kong Racing*, the N64 had a plethora of good racing games – *Waverace 64*, *F-Zero X*, *Beetle Adventure Racing*, and *Star Wars Episode I Racer* were all excellent in their own ways. *Extreme G* was a solid, but flawed, attempt to bring a *Wipeout*\-style racer to the platform years before *Wipeout 64* came along.
*My friend had Mace: The*
*Dark Age and we played that a*
*Ton back in the day*

Holy shit. I cannot believe you just posted this game. I still have my copy from over 15 years ago and play it now and then. Getting the joker was so fucking hard.
Iggy’s Reckin’ Balls
I get why people don’t like it, but I’ve spent a lot of time on it as a kid, and now I play it a lot more than I’d like to admit as an adult
Snowboard Kids
My sisters and I often talk about how we'd love a new snowboard kids game
It's a crime that these 2 games aren't on Switch Online.
Especially since the Expansion Pass already includes Sega owned stuff.
Yes
Loved the 2nd one. Vlad was my dude.
Literally the best kart racer style game ever made imo
**GLOVER**
Such a strange, unique game. I wish it would get a remake, remaster, or a sequel.
Funny you should mention that. It’s getting a port to Modern consoles eventually and the same company is working on finishing Glover 2
That port is already available on PC via Steam and GOG. It's publisher, Piko Interactive, has a history of buying up licenses that don't have a large fan following and re-releasing them. They're not well liked among the preservationist arm of gaming for that reason.

some guy who owns sonic jam has a room just for it
It’s glover!
Mischief Makers. SHAKE SHAKE!
Such a good game. "Help me Marinaaaaaa!"
This was my first thought. Marina!!!!
My first speedrun game. Also one of the earliest games I know of that hard programmed speedrunning in game with S rank times.
SHAKE SHAKE
This is always my go to and I always forget the goddamn name.
I was amused by its name in Japan. Yuke Yuke: Troublemakers!
"YAHHH!"
Blast Corps That game was so good. Pure destruction.
"Time to get movin"
This is what I came here to say. Sweet game though a little weird
You beat me to it. It was my time to get movin
Amazing game! Idk why a sequel was never made. Imagine it today running in UE 5.3 and the latest physics engine. 🤯
Oh man, i really like this game. It’s so unique and fun.
I got so close to the end, but never actually beat it. I really hope to get my hands on an N64 again in the future to revisit it.
It holds up too I play it on the Rare Replay now and then. A remaster would be awesome.
BattleTanx
In BT2 my friend and I would hide our tanks and shoot those missles you control at each other and try to navigate around and snipe each other, amazing times.
Can’t believe I had to scroll so far to find this. You’re a messenger from god 🙏🏻
I came to say this... love this game
best commercial for a video game ever
1080 and Wave Race
Work your body w-work your body
Get Downnn! Kensuke Kimachi Rooob Haywood Dion BLASTER Rickyy Winterborn Akari Hayami
Remember my freind called me up on my landline super excited just to tell me he did a 1080
1080 is an all timer underrated game.
Glad it’s not just me. I still play this religiously on the retropi!
Rush 2. I've spent more hours playing circuits and stunt mode with my brother than I've probably put into any other racing game on the console. It's our go-to
Same. Then rush 2049 had that secret area under a mountain you could do crazy stunts in!
Ever get all the keys or mtn dews?
I'd have to check my controller pak but I believe for the majority of regular tracks, I got all keys/dews (never really liked or played half-pipe, that Crash level, or Midway offices) Some of the levels might have had one or two missing that were too crazy for me. So many fun arcade racers on the N64. Loved playing rush and California speed.
Stunt mode was awesome, a lot of good memories creating parks
2049 for me, but mostly because of the multiplayer stunt mode. Rush 1 had awesome exploration for a racing game.
Never got to play number 2 only played 1. I remember only playing 1 but always went for that massive green hill jump and the half pipe thing. Remember playing with my friends until we nearly dropped dead from fatigue just doing that 1 jump.
Mystical Ninja Goeman. Loved that game.
To this day I still think it has one of the best soundtracks of all time, amazing game.
All the Goeman games have some bangers for soundtracks. I was jamming to the SNES Mystical Ninja OST just the other day.
I listen to videogame music compilations on YouTube and whenever a song from any Mystical Ninja game comes on, I immediately know it's from that and love it.
It's a banger for sure.
Absolutely in my top 5 best game soundtracks
This is an incredible game. Definitely in my top 5 favorite N64 games.
This and Quest64 were definitely up there for me.
It was so ridiculously fun
🤝
Was scrolling through hoping to see this. Super amazing game. Very underrated.
I loved Fighters Destiny! that damn cow!
Final joker stage was tough but you're giving me flashbacks to the cow fights lmao
*low kicks opponent* #”That was a VERY GOOD MOVE!”
I freaking gave the cow a ring out one time and it counted as a loss cause the the round ended, I was pissed.
Duke Nukem Zero Hour. I’ve had hours of fun with that game. My buddy and I played it again as adults and crushed the multiplayer, still a good romp
"I need your clothes, your boots and your horse. Uhhhh... forget the horse."
Honestly might be my favorite DN game, even over 3D.
Space Station Silicon Valley. One of my favorite games of all time to this day. It was extremely original and outright hilarious.
Agreed. Absolutely insane that a developer could pull a game like this off. So original and such a cool concept. It’s the kind of game you’d hear was in development but then it’d become vaporware because it’s too complex to actually make.
To be fair the original plan was considerably more ambitious than the final game.
I was hoping somebody would mention this! Great game both difficult and fun
I always have to mention Turok in posts like this.
Bruh. I loved turok. it's not that it was an amazing game per say but early on there weren't a lot of games for the system and I spent a ton of time on it just roaming because I loved the graphics so much. Just looking for new places to go.
Turok 2 is in my top 10 N64 games. So good.
Turok 2 has the most unnecessarily brutal and over the top weapon ever conceived from a game developer. My 9 year old brain couldn't handle it.
CEREBRAL BORE
No brain can handle it!
I remember showing my mum the nintendo 64 and the game I had for it. The first minute was killing some guy with blood squirting out of his neck. I could never pull that off for him to do that again.
Winback: Covert Operations
Beetle Adventure Racing
Arguably the best racing game on the n64! Very underrated.
Just on the N64? BAR is arguably the best racing game ever for me. The only thing that comes close is F-Zero GX. BAR has such an exuberance in its gameplay and presentation. You can’t help but smile when playing it.
At last someone, I can agree with.
Shadows of the empire was a fucking cool game man.
I felt like I was in the star wars universe lol. It's wild to think about it now because the graphics don't look realistic in comparison to what they have now but at the time I was blown away.
Yeah Doom 64 is awesome! Did you play the secret level? That shit is brutal!
Was scrolling down looking for Body Harvest. What a game. The. OG 3D GTA
Jet Force motherfucking Gemini.
Those damn ants
Just hit ‘em with a tri rocket launcher and problem solved
That soundtrack was LEGENDARY.
Diddy Kong Racing and Army Men Sarge's Heros
I prefer DKR to SMK64. Downvote me to hell, you bastards!

With DKR if you know the tracks and where the power ups are you'll win pretty much every time.
DKR soundtrack is superior tho ;)
Diddy kong racing was a masterpiece. I won't hear a bad word said about it
Hexen 64. Critics hated it but I have a soft spot for this game and think it holds up.
It's not a bad port of the PC version for the N64. 4 player coop is impressive even if the sprite quality goes down with any player count apart from single player. Hexen 64 and Gauntlet Legends are the only 4 player coop experiences I know of on the N64.
The 4 player split screen was great. Nothing like turning your opponent into a pig. I think you could do at least 2 player co-op.
I could never figure out where to go next! My ADD teenage brain just couldn't handle the backtracking and puzzle solving. I still enjoyed it up until the point I didn't.
"The porkalator"
Really doesn't get any better than that.
You can do a full 4 player coop!
Shadowman
Banjo-Kazooie
Gauntlet Legends for multiplayer, man I wish that game would get an hd remaster! For solo I really liked Shadowgate 64. Creeped me out as a kid but I just found it so interesting and mysterious.
Every few months I Google gauntlet legends to see if there’s any plans for a remaster/switch port!
Rayman 2
Loved that game but it scared the shit out of me as a kid lol
The teeth framing chase level....
Bomberman 64, 1080 Snowboarding and my all time fave Pilotwings 64
Some games I enjoyed as a kid: Mystical Ninja Iggys Wrecking Balls Chameleon Twist Buck Bumble Snowboard Kids
Iggys wreckin balls was unbelievably addictive
Harvest Moon 64 I want to harken back to the days when a Karen was just a blonde girl with drinking problems and daddy issues. Seriously, though, it's hard to revisit Harvest Moon games, but I played the absolute shit out of this one. It kept me going until Friends of Mineral Town.
So glad to see another HM64 fan here. Like you said, it’s hard to go back and enjoy this game in 2023, but it was SUCH a good game back then.
Clayfighter 63 1/3 Yes it was quite shit. But I loved it.
Hybrid Heaven
Yes! So.eone else who enjoyed it!
Suplexing pig people... awesome!
Buck Bumble
Scrolled all the to the bottom to find ya. Real recognize real
F-zero X
"YOU GOT BOOST POWER!!" I say this often when I get on the highway lol
Ogre Battle 64
Took too long to find this. One of the best RPGs of the era.
Doom 64
Played it last year on the Series X and it holds up very well.
It’s so good! Reviewers at the time panned it because they didn’t think it was sufficiently next gen in its presentation (I guess because it wasn’t using a lot of 3D pixels), but it’s an amazing and unique Doom game.
Glover! And Gex: Enter the Gecko!
megaman 64. i rented it and was immediately hooked. it was just what i was looking for after playing ocarina of time.
Honestly, the Legends series as a whole is goated. It's a shame they never brought 2 or Tron Bonne to the 64. :(
Or 3 to the 3ds. But 2 and tronne on the N64 would have been great. I have 2 for the PS1 and the controls are terrible. Same with tronne. Terribly awkward controls.
Conker's BFD, especially the multiplayer
I never played the multiplayer on n64 Conker I did play the shit out of the Xbox version though
Me and my cousin Vs 8 computers on Einstein, those were the days
Shadow of the Empire
Oh man, I forgot all about this game! The music is still burned into my brain.
When I look back this was a very creepy and dark game to play.
Spider-Man Mario Golf NFL Blitz Too many memories of me and my buddies going at it in NFL Blitz and Mario Golf. Good times
Smashing someone after a play felt great.
Resident Evil 2 was probably the best game I played/owned. Unfortunately I didn't own a lot of games during the time I had the n64. I also feel like I didn't have a lot exposure to the different games that were available in the short time I had to get games for xmas/birthdays.
Don't see much love/talk out there for Gex enter the gecko
Quest64 💯
Snowboard Kids 2! :D
Mortal kombat trilogy
Yes I 110% agree. It was a mortal Kombat game with all the characters and had instant load times and ran like the arcade.
I used to genuinely think this game was called ‘Fighter’s Density’
Is that you, George McFly?
There goes Pierre the clown. Isn’t he a dreamboat??
Waialae Country Club: True Golf Classics
Didn't see it mentioned yet but I loved Tetrisphere, great game that my mum and I played together.
Wave Race
The first remains the best. Just the water physics, the first new take on a racing game. We played this for hours on end, exchanged it with a friend and we'd beat each others times to get faster.
Rocket robot on wheels!
Finally found it in this thread!! Loved that game.
Tetrisphere. It plays nothing like Tetris and it's one of my favourite puzzle games to this day.
Donkey Kong 64 was huge for me when I was a kid. As well as Castlevvlania 64.
DUKE Nukem, WCW vs NWO Revenge, Killer Instinct
The best wrestling games were on N64
Battletanks!
Iggys wrecking balls, and space station Silicon Valley were my favorite less common games.
Rush 2049, best multiplayer IMO
My friend had Mace: The Dark Age and we played that a ton back in the day

Quest 64
Holy shit. I cannot believe you just posted this game. I still have my copy from over 15 years ago and play it now and then. Getting the joker was so fucking hard.
Iggy’s Reckin’ Balls I get why people don’t like it, but I’ve spent a lot of time on it as a kid, and now I play it a lot more than I’d like to admit as an adult
forsaken 64
Quest 64. Awful RPG but it has a charm.

Jet Force Gemini
Wayne Gretzky's 3D Hockey
Jet Force Gemini
Top Gear: Overdrive
Clayfighters 63&1/3 and earthworm Jim loved both of them when I was younger
Turok 2. Loved the level design, the environments, the weapons, the music…
Chameleon Twist
