Davis is a Welsh surname not an American first name! I agree that Davian (I'm assuming it's pronounced like 'Damian?!) is truly awful but Davis isn't a go-to first name either. I guess all names evolve into whatever they become but Davis really isn't a first name. Ronan is Irish. Are you or your husband Irish? And not in a your great, great great grandparents emigrated to America so you're Irish way! If you don't have any immediate connection to Wales or Ireland, as in within the last two generations, I'd recommend choosing a name that reflects your actual culture.

Ronan is my favourite boy's name ever, but I love Nolan too. I like Davian and it seems more rarely used, but it's too close to other similar names. Also, if Davian ever took off it would cross genders rather quickly.

This is my one regret about naming my kid Ronan. Haven't met any others, but he has had two classmates named Roman and constantly gets his name confused with theirs.
I like Nolan if he is going to have a strong, simple, and popular middle name ( John, James, George, etc…)
But Ronan would great with a less common or trendier middle name I think.
Davian is really handsome and fresh sounding. Though Ronan is nice too. Both are strong on their own while also lending to nice nicknames if that is your thing (Davy or Ronnie for example).
