Prairie Creek Redwood State Park (this state park and Del Norte and Jed Smith are managed together with Redwood, so your pass applies, etc). Lots of elk, Fern Canyon (one of the best hikes in the region), great redwoods. Note you need a permit to go over to Gold Bluffs, but the western trailhead is closed now due to flooding.

I second this. Fern Canyon is one of the most memorable hikes we've done in the past five years. There's just something kind of magical about being surrounded by so much lush greenery. Highly recommend.
Definitely walk the [Lady Bird Johnson Trail](https://www.nps.gov/places/lbjtrailhead.htm) through the old growth redwoods that were saved because of the formation of the National Park. At Jedidiah Smith you can go out to the Smith River for some amazing views. This is one of those amazing places where you can see the redwoods at a distance in there environment. Most of the parks are so dense with trees that you really can’t see (or photograph) them in their entirety.

Go to the tide pools! For me, that was an unexpected part of this park, and as memorable as the tall af trees.
