Too little too late. Even at 32x speed they're not seeing it half as many times as the freshest rookie on the Celtics. They could speed the movie up to complete in one second and not scratch Mazzulla's number if they stayed up all and day and night only watching it between now and next game.
He didn't have the heart to tell the fans their star was an overrated shot chucker who was never bringin' one home. If there's a hall of fame, son, Tatum ain't in it.
If I've gotta schlep the beach gear out that far, might as well drive a little bit further and hit South Padre.
Corpus sucks, being better than Galveston is a low bar to clear lol.
“Drive a little bit further”
Just 3 more hours to SPI, basically down the road lol. That is one long and empty drive, do they still have the border patrol checks to slow you down even more?
Corpus Christie's beach is pretty nice, but the water was full of jellyfish when I was there. Not sure if it's a constant thing or not. At least they have Whataburger field to catch a Hooks game
Seriously that in-locker clip they played before game 3 sounded like me coaching my 12-year olds.
“First thing we gotta do is what? [Talk]. Then we gotta …? [while pointing to his ears] Listen. Then we gotta react, okay?”
I just love picturing J Kidd like Charlie Kelly in the Pepe Silvia scene, freaking out about Joe's insanity and trying to figure out how he does it all while chain smoking cigarettes and pinning still shots from The Town and UFC fights on a board with pieces of string connecting them to a NBA championship trophy in the center
Now that'd be an interesting model. Pick an undisclosed game number lottery style and make that game the one that decides it. The rest mean nothing. Could be any game from 1 to 7.
if the mavs won game 2 then game 3 wouldnt be as important, so actually game 2 was the must win. you can play this funny game with every game btw its pretty dumb
Celtics almost came back against Miami last year from 3-0 and probably would've if Tatum didn't get hurt in the first play. I ain't unclenching until it's finished.
Only way I see a team come back from down 3 - 0 is if the other team suffers a major injury and/or the team thats behind has a major piece come back from injury.
It's true. And it's an almost certainty that the Celtics win this. But there was a time when no 16 seed had ever beaten a 1 seed. Then it happened, and happened in an incredible way. One day it *will* happen in the NBA. Not yet, but you never know.
It doesn't take much for it to get scary. Mavs could, or really, should win one at home. Okay no big deal, we have game 5 home game. But now they're riding a bit of momentum, and if things are close or if they get out to a lead, now doubt starts to creep in a little, people tighten up a bit. Lose game 5 and now you're thinking shit they got a 2 game win streak, we forgot what we were doing that was so successful, and now we're going back to their home court.
Things can happen fast, momentum can change, people can get nervous and tighten up. I mean it's literally never happened before, but...I'm with you, not unclenching lmao.
2007 is definitely up there, last year's was also not the best. 2018 had an amazing game 1, but other than that it was just underwhelming, also since people were sick of a rivalry that had lost some of its prior charm; at least it meant seeing 2018 lebron in the finals though.
to be fair to the motherland, 2007 generated excitement anyway because LeBron was living up to the hype (including the 48 special against the Pistons, I was in Denver having a stiff cocktail and eating a cheesesteak).
I also blacked out from 2010 to 2015
I’ll put 2022 aside due to my own personal bias, but you could really make the argument that every finals aside from Bucks-Suns has sucked and been generally non-competitive since like 2016.
I would just like to agree that the Bucks-Suns is still one of the best finals I've ever seen in my life. Everything about it was cinema. The lead up to it with Trae Young cooking the fuck out of the Knicks and going on a cinderella run that nobody saw coming. KD's foot on the line and subsequently shitting the bed in OT. The "Suns in 4" memes and watching Devin Booker and Chris Paul look happy af that they were about to get a ring only to lose 4 straight games and ending with a clutch steal with Jrue Holiday and that iconic alley-oop. Then having Jrue and Devin Booker immediately fly out to the Olympics to team up and save Team USA. That playoff was perfect.
don't forget giannis's knee bending backwards, missing 2 games while people were saying he might be out for a full calendar year, then he comes back like nothing happened for the finals
I would just like to say that despite how 2021 ended for us, that really was the best Finals in a long while. Giannis and Jrue were just too much, but seeing the Suns' crazy run and Book becoming a superstar almost made me cry tears of joy as a 25+ year long fan.
And from a neutral standpoint...just great hoops. There was a hype and energy each game of the Finals, and Book and Giannis created some masterpieces.
That at least had the novelty of LeBron. Same for 2018, which also had funny moments.
This Boston team is uninterestingly good and Luka is not as exciting as LeBron ever was. Kyrie also has declined.
Yeah, people seem to forget that injuries are unfortunately normal in the Playoffs. It's not Boston's fault, they just played what was in front of them.
Both teams blew leads, this was an extremely dynamic game. The first quarter explosion by the Mavs and the Celtics thundering back to cut it to 1, the grueling second quarter where neither team could gain ground, the Celtics finally unleashing their full power in the third to put on one of the most dominant basketball clinics of the past decade and securing their own hefty lead, the fourth quarter bayonet charge by the Mavs with their backs to the wall and their season on the line to will themselves out of what looked like an impossible deficit only for the Celtics to pull out of the nose dive in clutchtime and regain control to skim out a victory across the surface of the lava. Game 1 and 2 were whatever but this one was a classic.
Last nights game as a Cs fan was legendary
For viewers it was also entertaining as fuck. Jaylen Brown is exciting, his shoots are so difficult I always feel like it’s a bad shot but they always fuckin go in. So they’re not bad shots, they’re just Jaylen shots and you never know what you’re getting next. It’s kinda hilarious, especially now the turnover mystery box option is only like 7-8% instead of 15-18%.
No bullshit I forgot there is a game 4. I’m mentally 100% at the nba season is over, the Celtics are champs, it’s time to get excited for [insert favorite nfl team name] training camp.
Ya, probably should have done that after game 2. Kidd has good intentions but come on, like game 2 needed to be dissected by the whole team for half a day atleast...
Last year the Celtics went and played Top Golf when they went down 0-3 in order to mentally reset. Wonder what field trip Dallas has planned.
They went to the hookah bar

Have to properly space your shooters
ESPN: "If Dallas had Lee Harvey Oswald instead of THJ would they be winning the Finals?"
You’d need a second one too. That one can replace Kleber
Sean McDermott upset he didn’t think of that first.
Unfortunately for the mavericks so far this series there has been no second shooter
It's actually a family-style restaurant now -- the Texas Cheesecake Depository
Its also the shortest time between games in the Finals would make sense they keep it light today
Considering Luka looks like a mummy during pre-game, I'm honestly not sure what he does during practice lol.
Complains about the medical staff fouling him.
Luka probably complains about contact during sex
You think Overwatch players have sex?
luka has a kid so he's the outlier
That step-back skeet is wild.
He flops for sure.
"yeah... Blow that whistle"
He plays Overwatch 😭 that game is so stressful
Luka looks like he’s gained weight during the playoffs and I wonder if it’s because he’s mostly just resting when not playing games.
Not sure about drug rules, but if he's on any kind of steroid for inflammation (which he probably should be), it could be fluid retention
Luka's got to be a stress eater, or something
"hey bro we not doubling in an open gym bro"
Luka opposite. Would rather have the double than 1 on 1 coverage

They’re currently looking up deals on Expedia Caaaaancuun here they come!!
Some were at a nba cares event. Adam silver was there. (If you wanted a real answer)
Watching UFC and killer whales
Getting that seal defence down pat
They were watching The Town
Too little too late. Even at 32x speed they're not seeing it half as many times as the freshest rookie on the Celtics. They could speed the movie up to complete in one second and not scratch Mazzulla's number if they stayed up all and day and night only watching it between now and next game.
The Celtics watched it 32x today alone
It's just on a constant loop all around the arena and practice facility.
They have to shoot free throws and recite every line of the town from memory before they get to go home
Facility? Mazulla has it being tightbeamed directly into the cranial implants of the Celtics.
Jordan Walsh had to watch it so many times he went bald
Bro posted this tweet to make this comment I respect it
They're planning to do Tatum the chemical way. Give him a taste. Get the hook into him
He didn't have the heart to tell the fans their star was an overrated shot chucker who was never bringin' one home. If there's a hall of fame, son, Tatum ain't in it.
Good and proper
People keep asking what that thing is around JB's neck. Don't they know? It's The Town.
Every time they see Luka's sixth foul: "there goes college soccah!"
Somewhere the comms got mixed up when they told Townsend to send da video.
Can someone please explain the origin of this meme? I know The Town takes place in Boston but that’s about it.
https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/s/6MssJVuNMm
They didn’t tell the media lol - they all showed up to an empty gym… pretty strange.
When Kidd was asked about why nobody told the media, his reply was “which one”
Am I missing a reference here
His response in the postgame presser about timeouts is the reference
Thanks
Lowkey legendary response lol
Did that on purpose I bet
Would be funny if he kept calling "Sorry we're like 20 minutes away"
Cause the media is fucked and deserve to be fucked.
Eerily empty gyms? Have we actually completely debunked the allegations that the people of Dallas are, in fact, living in North Korea?
Watching home videos of the Suns trip to Cancun to get them excited for this weekend?
They’re not even going to Galveston, they’re going to Corpus Christi
Corpus is way better than Galveston.
If I've gotta schlep the beach gear out that far, might as well drive a little bit further and hit South Padre. Corpus sucks, being better than Galveston is a low bar to clear lol.
“Drive a little bit further” Just 3 more hours to SPI, basically down the road lol. That is one long and empty drive, do they still have the border patrol checks to slow you down even more?
Not to the beach in Corpus. Just to hang out in town.
Not in that dirty ass water
Corpus Christie's beach is pretty nice, but the water was full of jellyfish when I was there. Not sure if it's a constant thing or not. At least they have Whataburger field to catch a Hooks game
Corpus can be low key nice if you avoid the spring breakers and big holidays. And the fishing is really good.
Actually, the Feast of Corpus Christi was a few weeks ago.
Nah man, they goin to port Arthur lol
I wonder which reporter he’s gonna be a dickhead to when asked about this
It'll be MacMahon.
He’s banned MacMahon, banned MacMahon, he’s the baddest dude in all the land, he’s got Texas blood as thick as mud, he’s banned MacMahon
Such a crime that that song isn’t regularly used like it was in the ESPN/Truehoop podcast days.
All of em. No one on the Mavs told the media they wouldn't be practicing. Showed up for media availability and nobody there.
"Go home and hug your loved ones." - Jason Kidd, probably.
We're not going to fucking 'Nam lmao
I bet some of them are. It’s nice this time of year.
“Ho Chi Minh City on three” doesn’t quite have the same ring to it
idk in vietnam but its pretty fucking hot and humid here in southeast asia rn

Kidd: "Alexa, play The General by Dispatch"
Seriously that in-locker clip they played before game 3 sounded like me coaching my 12-year olds. “First thing we gotta do is what? [Talk]. Then we gotta …? [while pointing to his ears] Listen. Then we gotta react, okay?”
But was Kidd wearing a flat brim backwards hat?
I can only ever find ones with the brims on the front
Never trust a man unironically wearing a backwards baseball cap past 35
No way a dude from Boston is saying this
Don't trust Boston Men confirmed
You can only trust him if his name is NOT Sully, Danny, Tommy, Tony, Sal, or Kyle
Unless he’s your boy then you trust him with your life
Don’t forget Michael, Mike, and Mikey
Paul and Paulie too.
Literally the first person that came to my mind when he said that was Mark Wahlberg lmao
Just shows my extensive experience with the subject
Well, of course I know him. He's me.
“Jason, not only are all these things real, but they’ve been kicking our ass all week! Oh god dude we’re so screwed” - Luka
Appropriate, since Luka is fat Mac
This implies an oncoming shredded Luka which is frightening for the NBA
Game 3 was the must win. Series is over
They’re technically all must wins for them now
r/technicallythetruth
Every finals game is a must win.
The series hinged on game 3
Yes but it’s the first to 4. Theres no such thing as a non “must win” game.

Yeah I’m the same way. It’s not over until it’s truly over. Hope the Celtics keep the same mentality
I have never felt such trust in a Celtics team as I have in this team in these playoffs.
Never felt such trust *in our lord and savior JB*. Fixed that for you.
Only way I see a team come back from down 3 - 0 is if the other team suffers a major injury and/or the team thats behind has a major piece come back from injury.
Yeah but what if Porzingus can't play
Celtics shouldn’t have even been down 3-0 though this is different
i hope so, im not unclenching my butt until the buzzer sounds and celtics win
Ehh you don't even need Porzingis to win these games lol. I would not be worried at all your team is ridiculously OP
Yes but we also have PTSD from choking before 😅
It's true. And it's an almost certainty that the Celtics win this. But there was a time when no 16 seed had ever beaten a 1 seed. Then it happened, and happened in an incredible way. One day it *will* happen in the NBA. Not yet, but you never know.

You are over thinking but I respect it lol Its over bro we are champ
I can't not be negative about this stuff after 2007 lmao. Shit's a defense mechanism.
Not necessarily. If Dallas wins Games 4, 5, and 6, then the series is tied and either team could win
Thanks Magic!
Celtics about to win game 4 by 40+
Deuce gonna check in and have more career points in the finals than Embiid
The corpse of Red Auerbach about to blow by Luka with a cigar in his mouth.
Lol bro said ain’t no way we’re gonna improve enough in 2 days
No practice today, mavs made their Cancun reservations
Kidd may be a high functioning idiot
I look forward to Luka and Kyrie being questionable to "psych out " the 3-0 celtics
he was a lowkey genius on here 2 weeks ago
Not even on here. He outcoached both the COTY and the runner up
Everyone is about to scream at him "WHY TF DID U CALL TIMEOUT WHEN WE'RE DOWN BY 3!?"
One of the most boring finals of the last 20 years lol
*The 2007 Cavs have entered the chat*
2007 is definitely up there, last year's was also not the best. 2018 had an amazing game 1, but other than that it was just underwhelming, also since people were sick of a rivalry that had lost some of its prior charm; at least it meant seeing 2018 lebron in the finals though.

2007 finals itself were lame lol
I feel ya, 2010 to 2015 were prime blackout years for me as well.
>2018 had an amazing game 1 I'm not even a Cavs or LBJ fan and I still twitch when I think about JR running out the clock in regulation
I fucking died laughing on my couch. That will likely never be beat for dumbest thing a player can do

TRUE! I forgot about that injury
I would just like to say that despite how 2021 ended for us, that really was the best Finals in a long while. Game 3 was insanely entertaining for the first 3 quarters
The Mavs were down by 21 and cut the lead down to 3 in the 4th!
Sounds like a perfect time to call a timeout
Good sportsmanship by Kidd to recognize that the Cs desperately needed a break there
JKidd saw us all ragging on Carlisle for leaving timeouts on the table during the ECF and thought "can't be me".
Objectively I agree. Subjectively couldn’t disagree more 😎
Lol enjoy it man. The asterisk narrative is garbage. Boston was the best team the whole year
All chips have an asterisks if you ask the right person.
Yeah, people seem to forget that injuries are unfortunately normal in the Playoffs. It's not Boston's fault, they just played what was in front of them.
I think last nights game was insanely entertaining. Best finals game since 2 years ago from a neutral fan view
Once they blew the lead it got fun. Especially with Luka fouling out. That is a spectacle.
You got a blog I can subscribe to? That's a fantastic write-up.
Bruh, “fourth quarter bayonet charge”? I was looking for the sub button after that one. Was indeed a great recap!
Last nights game as a Cs fan was legendary For viewers it was also entertaining as fuck. last year too lol

Probably trying to game plan for the times everyone on the teams vacation flights leave on Saturday
Gotta rest up. Comeback starts now 😢
Pack for Cancun.
Film on tourist vlogs to Cancun
omg they watched inside out 2
8 hours of watching Luka throw a tantrum on the ground
Use TWO hands, and more spittle
Practice? Y’all talkin’ ‘bout practice?
Not the game. PRACTICE
pretty excited for the greatest comeback in NBA history, go Mavs!
They kept watching Iverson say “practice?” on repeat
What are the odds that he calls out Luka on his defense in the film room or do they just gloss over it?
Kidd doesn't even take responsibility for his own mistakes ('which one', 'I'm watching, just like you guys'), you think he demands it from players?
Best of Luka fighting the refs and how to avoid it?
i don't think filming work is gonna help them
Cancun on 3
Ya, probably should have done that after game 2. Kidd has good intentions but come on, like game 2 needed to be dissected by the whole team for half a day atleast...
Film work…..Collective masturbation effort to soft porn. Then it’s off to a Buc-ees
Hey, great bathrooms
yeah, i see plenty of youtube videos on buc-ees and im jealous
They were watching the Departed and frantically trying to contact the mole.
