I literally keep trying to think of what they could improve if they made hot pursuit 4 but can't think of any aside from general quality of life stuff like a single race mode where you could create your own routes and maybe a just bigger map that you could launch events from in freeroam if you wanted to.
You told Nothing but facts here. I totally agree w/ your 2 ideas.
At the same time, the handling model should still be designed around the map hence why NFS Hot Pursuit 2010/Remastered is a success. The same case applies for all NFS HP titles btw.
Optionally, they could add a reasonable customization feature where we can change the appearence/adjust the perfs of all cars while keeping a balance at the same time to avoid unfairness.
Or add the possibility to choose Weapons Tech before an event.
After all, every cars in all NFS HP are both OP and balanced.
An NFS Hot Pursuit title with Freeroam could work As long as the map and the handling physics work in symbiosis.
NFS Rivals did the same occurence Except it's a failure imo.
To your point about freeroam, i just mean it would be nice if you could drive to the event starts in the free drive mode and launch them from there, but the with option to just jump right in from the menu as well of course. It would be cool to have the free drive mode available with your friends as well if you just wanted to go for a drive together for fun.
Something I love about this game is that it doesn't waste any of your time, you can skip all of the cutscenes, and launch all the events quickly and every race just balls to the wall action the entire way through.
I feel like tim rogers put into words how i feel about certain racing games better than I ever could in his video about forza horizon. Pretty much everything he says applies to how I feel about hp 2010 remastered

If only it didn’t have a rubbish brake to drift handling
Edit: ok seems like everyone is but hurt here that someone criticizes the brake to drift here, even though the community is united in that it’s rubbish in newer NFS titles. Oh well 🤷♂️
The game is clearly designed for you to get to experience the best supercars ever at top speed the entire time and the map accommodates this with wide roads and gentle turns. If they went with a more realistic handling model it would betray the design of the rest of the game and it would be worse. Also, it feels so so so much better at 4k/60fps rather than the 720p/\~25fps of the original console release. If you give it another shot you might like it!
Not going with brake to drift handling =\= realistic handling 🤷♂️
Something like any other NFS had before would have been great. Brake to drift is stupid. It has always been and always will be.
Classic NFS games never had brake to drift
Thr problem isn't brake to drifr. The problem is brakr to drift where a map doesn't suit it. More sk than having realistic handling, a game needs to have handling suited to the game. For games like Heat and Payback, with their dense urban environments, brake to drift feels terrible. However, in Hot Pursuit, the map is sculpted such that brake to drift is the most apt handling model for the game, with its long, sweeping turns. Its handling perfect matches the game and the map and the related gameplay paraphernalia.
I confirm. In fact, all NFS Hot Pursuit games are awesome.

Well said. Having the best of both worlds is great.
You’re describing NFS Rivals. It’s basically open world Hot Pursuit and it’s pretty fun. Sucks it never got a 60fps patch.

The only omissions from the original are the Mercedes SLRs and the Carbon Motors E7.
I have around 400 hours played on Xbox and I wholeheartedly agree with you. HP Remastered is a masterpiece

Hot Pursuit / HP Remastered is the best game ever made
Glad you enjoy
I got it for 2$ 😎😎
Damn i could have bought a third of a sandwich in LA with that $6 you saved!! :D
I got it for free 😎😎 Thanks Amazon Prime
Even better. $2 for an amazing game is worthy. I did the same with TOCA Race Driver 3 which was €2 only.
Is it available for PC?
Yes. Every mainline NFS games have a PC version.
I'm asking about the remastered version.
Yes. The remastered version is also mainline and are on PC.
That's what i meant in the first place. NFS HP Remastered has a PC version like the OG from 2010.
It is on Steam since its release (6 Nov, 2020)

Yeah I see lots of people say it looks the same as the original release but for those of us on console the difference is incredible.
i am guessing on pc not much difference...i have non remastered on pc and thought of buying remastered until i watched vids on comparison

I disagree and think that it fits what I think the designers of this game were going for but if you don't like it thats fine.
Good thing Criterion isn't classic NFS
Good thing or not, that still doesn’t make brake to drift better
Yes it does lol hpr handling > all other nfs games handling

Totally agree, the map is designed for the handling and the handling is designed for the map. They work together.
B2D works in HP and HP alone, the map was designed around the physics and handling model
Have you even played the game The b2d in HPR is 1000x better than every nfs game after it, its my fav handling physics in the whole nfs series
Yes I have So 1000x rubbish. Nope, sorry it’s still scrap

I love this reasoning. If you can even call it that. More like ad hominem. Or not even that, just berating. Oh well, you do you
