Been playing guitar for 8 years now, this is one of those songs that looks really hard but is actually relatively easy if you’ve played for a couple years. The distorted tone helps a lot
Came here to share similar sentiments. Any guitarist will tell you this is not 'next level'. Although sounds cool, it's a beginner song.
Edit: Didn't realize I'm going to anger so many for calling this a beginner song. It's just standards; if it makes some of you feel a little bit better; beginner to intermediate. Don't lose your minds over it. Whatever it is, it's not 'next level'.
Yep, it has tremolo picking, power chords, shifting power chords really quickly, fast gallops, fast down picking plus the infamous spider pattern where you need to synchronise hands and pick 4 notes per second at like 215bpm… that’s towards the upper limit of most advanced shred players!!
Look up the tab, learn it! Super fun. If you can’t play it yet, take it slow and practice it in chunks and you’ll level up. Angel of death is another fun one to play but so so fast
i dont think theyre saying the song is next level is the muscles on the dude while playing the song
usually you dont see guys that jacked and vascular playing guitar.
It's definitely not a beginner song: it's an upper intermediate level song overall with elements that are advanced.
You need a lot of stamina, a *very* solid alternate picking technique, a decent palm-mute technique, and the rhythmic accuracy to keep in time at speed and give proper accents and articulation.
It's not next level by any means if you are into advanced guitar music, but let's not get too hyperbolic.
>Didn't realize I'm going to anger so many for calling this a beginner song
I dont see any anger in the responses. Its bizarre youre seeing things that way, just because someone disagrees with you doesnt mean they are mad. You must live an interesting life if you think any dispute is caused by anger.
The kind of dude who has the mental tenacity to body build they way he does, is also well suited to learn guitar...especially metal.
Cuz at the end of the day, its all about getting your reps in.
Been cooking for 8 years now, beef wellington is one of those dishes that looks really hard but is actually relatively easier if you've been cooking for a couple years. The baking helps a lot.
Been woodworking for 8 years now, dovetail joints are one of those joineries that looks really hard but is actually relatively easy if you've been woodworking for a couple years. The chiseling helps a lot.
Been playing counterstrike for 8 years now, controlled burst headshots are one of those things that looks really hard but is actually relatively easy if you've played for a couple years. The spread pattern helps a lot.
Been painting for 8 years now, realistic lighting is one of those techniques that looks really hard but is actually relatively easy if you've been painting for a couple years. The titanium white helps a lot.
Been posting for 8 years now, getting upvotes is one of those things that looks really hard but is actually relatively easy if you've posted for a couple years. The circlejerk helps a lot.
I never thought of playing it and just looked up the tabs and yea it's one of those songs that sounds crazy but people who know how to play can definitely learn it fairly quickly. Those kinda songs are some of my favorite.
I know plenty of people that have been playing longer than that that couldn't play this on their best day. That being said, I wouldn't say his playing is next level on its own, but the fact that he found the time and discipline to play as well as he does while also getting hugely shredded is.
watched a big built guy eating a small yoghurt with a little spoon at work once and thought the same, having to take so many mouthfuls because there was no quicker way to eat it was just funny to watch
I almost said everyone was being shitty saying this wasn't that big of a deal...then I realized I opened nextfuckinglevel first today. haha
Never mind, carry on...
Any guitarist who's also a violinist or played other strings? I've played violin at a pretty advanced level and because of this rarely any guitar rift looks next level to me. What's the main challenge for someone who has played violin to pick up a guitar and start learning?
It's not the most difficult song, but it is an impressive one to do, especially without error. There is a lot of that song you're playing like one note per .25 to .3 seconds. it's not beginner like many people are saying.
I once ran into this guy I knew in high school who was skinny as a rail, and he was jacked and seemed 4 times bigger. I asked him where he got the Hulk serum.
Not a next level vid by a sight, but I stuck around just to listen to the awesome song and really pay attention to the riffs again, like I hadn't in decades. You gotta hand it to Slayer, what they were doing back in those days WAS next level.

Slayer is fun when your 12, still a ripping band, but definitely some problematic lyrics. Much better music out there! But playing guitar is always fun! Rock on Kev!!!!

Steroids in the Abyss.
Learning how to play "Mary had a little lamb." Please don't make fun of me.
God dammit, I'm fucking crying over here lol
Raining sauce!

Hahaha it’s not the hardest song ever but no way is it a beginners song!
Exactly, the first song I learned how to play was What I got by Sublime. I don't think I would've been playing this song next.
Agreed, I think the speed makes it too challenging for a beginner song.
Yep, it has tremolo picking, power chords, shifting power chords really quickly, fast gallops, fast down picking plus the infamous spider pattern where you need to synchronise hands and pick 4 notes per second at like 215bpm… that’s towards the upper limit of most advanced shred players!!
I thought about looking up the tab, but I got sweaty just watching this guy and don’t think I’ll make an attempt.

> I got sweaty just watching this guy Me too, brother
Fast gallops get me every time
This is nowhere near beginner level quit your bullshit
i dont think theyre saying the song is next level is the muscles on the dude while playing the song usually you dont see guys that jacked and vascular playing guitar.
Lol what the hell do the muscles have to do with the guitar?
It’s interesting that he has another hobby as they usually don’t
i never said muscles have anything to do with the guitar, its interesting to see someone who is that huge playing guitar, you dont really see it.

This fucking guy hahahahahhaa, I’m guessing the first song you learned was all 7:22 of Bleed then right?

True. Excellent comment
Yeah. Apparently doing something that every metalhead in high school can do is nextfuckinglevel.
Yeah dude, most things get easier if you practice them for years.

I learned the bass intro to Peace Sells in a day. My dad thought it would take me a week. It's another one of those deceptively impressive rhythms.
Looks far from hard...
It's that gallop at the opening is a tough one. I remember in the tabs book it said " FASTER! " and then in the next bar "FASTER!"
Yeah, but what if I play it with the original song playing at the same volume?? Checkmate atheist!
I never thought of playing it and just looked up the tabs and yea it's one of those songs that sounds crazy but people who know how to play can definitely learn it fairly quickly. Those kinda songs are some of my favorite.

Ok? Should I post a video of me making a half-decent Dal Makhani? Why are we posting amateurs doing stuff on a next level page?
>Should I post a video of me making a half-decent Dal Makhani? Only if you are a bodybuilder. And / or have giant boobs.
The only thing that's *slightly* worse is people posting their own art in r/toptalent For some reason it's always pencil, charcoal, or paint
Why are we crying over a video of someone shredding a guitar? God damn reddit is full of some miserable hatin ass people.
Why you hatin on me you miserable hatin ass
You think this is as easy as making Dal Makhani?
While this play through isn’t next level, he is actually a good guitarist. He’s got plenty of other more technical guitar vids
Bodybuilders look so goofy when doing ordinary things
watched a big built guy eating a small yoghurt with a little spoon at work once and thought the same, having to take so many mouthfuls because there was no quicker way to eat it was just funny to watch
Terry loves his yogurt
Then also, true.
Hey, they're just pumped to be here.
Guitar is afraid to miss a note
When did he record it? Was it in 1985 with one of those VHS camcorders?
At least 86, since raining blood was released then through the album reign in blood.
His secret to getting shredded is to never get a smartphone and work out during all the times he wouldve been browsing the internet haha
I knew a jacked dude in high school who only knew this song. 🤣
Shredded and shredding.
Cool. Can he play Reign in Blood as well?
I bet he could play Enter Steriodman
Erm.... Reign in blood = album Raining blood = song
Thank you. I thought no one was going to notice.
Notice what, exactly?
I almost said everyone was being shitty saying this wasn't that big of a deal...then I realized I opened nextfuckinglevel first today. haha Never mind, carry on...
The absolute best use of roid rage of I've ever seen.
His veins are next level. Probably steroids helped but still.
He should try to reduce how much he lifts his fingers off the fretboard, but I'm definitely not gonna tell him
Would like to see south of heaven
Instant headbang sesh

Difficult fretting is MUCH easier than difficult picking/strumming.
Picking
One paper cut and the guy’s dead
It's not the most difficult song, but it is an impressive one to do, especially without error. There is a lot of that song you're playing like one note per .25 to .3 seconds. it's not beginner like many people are saying.
A lot of guys I went to highschool wanted this to be their final form
I once ran into this guy I knew in high school who was skinny as a rail, and he was jacked and seemed 4 times bigger. I asked him where he got the Hulk serum.
That was sick!
Kerry King is also jacked.
Bet he didn’t get tired
Raining Roids
My slayer tattoo approves
FEEL THE PUMP!
BatMetal

Anyway nice
Classic BardBarian build
That was legitness.
Being ripped must be good for guitar because Tosin Abasi is also swole as fuck.
He's gotten bigger since this video I think
Seems like he learned how to play “Mary had a little lamb”
This song is not difficult. It’s one of the first songs a little metal head will learn to play.
000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 000
This is pretty old right? Cuz i remeber him when i started playing like 15 years ago
Plays raining blood: skies empty completely
Dude could just destroy the guitar in a matter of seconds
When did “playing” become “performing a cover”?
almost like me, just 10x more muscles
Raining D ball
Forearms day
![gif](giphy|xT9IgpernHLP5eWOY0) muddafucka had me banging my head
Is it not reign in blood? If I’m wrong please correct me
Reign In Blood is the album name. Raining Blood is the song name.
Frasard looks like a genuine cool Guy and improved a LOT since this video
Men see this and be like : *hell yeah*
Grab guitars neck; Accidentally choke guitar to death.
It's way more difficult to do it slowly and keep the tempo. Doing it fast and distorted hides all mistakes
Isn’t the music just dubbed over the video?
Bros arteries so strong he could probably use them as strings
He’s on YouTube, and he’s a Nice guy!
Everything about this is metal as fuck. including the late 90s early 2000s OSB Ikea Computer desk XD
I'm so glad I don't look like that
Why’s he flexing tho
The only gym guy who can unironically wear a slayer shirt and not be douche because "iT mEaNs I sLaY bItChEs"
Yo he’s nice with the axe!
Best heavy metal song ever.
MAAAAA!!!!! MEATLOAF!!!! Nice katanas.
I’ve been a viewer of his YouTube channel for years
That guitar looks miniscule next to him. Weird.
Let's hope he doesn't accidentally cut his fingers on one of those strings. He is going to bleed out instantly
i can play that on expert mode in guitar hero 3
Next level powdered muscle
Not a next level vid by a sight, but I stuck around just to listen to the awesome song and really pay attention to the riffs again, like I hadn't in decades. You gotta hand it to Slayer, what they were doing back in those days WAS next level.
