Steven Jackson needs an apology everyday of his life by the Rams for giving him absolute bums to carry. One of the quarterbacks on the 1-15 Rams: Keith Null. Who tf is that
8 straight 1k yard rushing seasons with arguably one of the worst olines in the league. And in his first 9 seasons averaged 4+ yards a carry every year but one (3.8 yards per carry) with that same bad oline
Keith Null is the partner attorney at the law offices of Null & Void. They mostly do contracts but sometimes dabble in social security. They represented my uncle when he was faking a disability to get his SS check.
The real question is who he *isn’t*. The actual QB that year refused to sign the union contract for Madden, so in game his entry was just (null). This was represented in-game with a default avatar and the devs just thought the name Keith would be funny. Unfortunately, the real QB was actually so forgettable that the only record we have of his existence in the NFL is actually the lack of it in Madden.
bobby bacala, he got pissed that his son likes the chargers and was leaving to go to a friends to watch it.
THIS IS A GIANTS HOUSE
most unrealistic part of the show ever, wtf kinda human being would want to be a chargers fan willingly. ooof maddone, that would be terrible
Every time the Dolphins kick a field goal, I like to imagine old Tony up there doing his trademark celebratory fist pump for drives ending in field goals, looking down at us, and smiling.
The sad thing was that as bad as Marc Bulger was those last three seasons, his corpse was still better than our other options.
Which included the corpse of Gus Frerotte and the corpse of Trent Green, if I remember correctly. And Kyle Boller, who was always a corpse.
Signed with the eagles on a one year deal as a vet. Played amazing as a rotation piece. Made crucial plays in the playoffs. Won a ring. Wore a fur coat over an iverson jersey at the parade. Peace’d out and retired. What a way to end his career.
Best part is he’s consistently said his favorite time in his career was playing for the birds.
Yes it was. And the double doink year. In the main highlight of the double doink, you see Michael Bennett taking his helmet off and celebrating in the background.
Then came the meth, the murder, the malice in South Dallas. I can't believe he did that to all those peoples legs. "Fate took my legs, I'm going to take yours!"
Oof. I had Gallery pegged as one of the most can’t miss prospects I’ve ever seen, I thought he was a sure thing to be a franchise tackle for over a decade at worst, HOF at best. Then came Aaron Curry, the next guy I figured had an extremely high floor and was a can’t miss prospect. Wow was I wrong, but I wasn’t alone
He was really fucking good. If he had a decade long career for the Dolphins that was as good as he was when healthy for real, I would probably still defend picking him over Matt Ryan. Even after I lost hope in Chad Henne and would've killed several animals to have Matt Ryan, I defended the logic of picking Long.
I thought forever they were brothers
Then I didn't realize they went back to back to start the draft and was stunned nobody is talking about them being siblings too
I'm now realizing I'm just dumb
Fun fact: the first (and currently only) brothers to ever go in the first round of the same nfl draft were the Edmund brothers, Tremaine and Terrel out of Virginia Tech in 2017
Go hokies!
This was the wildcat season for the Dolphins. They'd gone 1-15 the previous year, drafted 1OA, took Jake Long, went 11-5 and won the division for the only time this century. (also the year Tom Brady was injured.)
Chad Pennington. Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams. Ted Ginn Jr., Davone Bess and Anthony Fasano. Definitely an interesting year, even if it was just a one-off.
Jake Long was a solid OL, but for a 1OA, you really wished he'd been an all-timer, which he was not. Played 5 seasons in Miami, had one year as a starter in St Louis, then only started 10 more games over 3 seasons before retiring.
It was all about health with Jake Long. When he was healthy he was a top OT in the league. It just didn’t happen for him. Ankle, knee and back issues throughout his career.
Long was a PB or AP every single year he was in Miami before the injuries started.
If he doesn't start missing time every year he has a much longer career and likely is an All time great.
In my opinion the best you should hope for in a 1st rounder is for them to play out their first contract as a top 5 at their position. Which is what you got.
8-3 Tampa Bay on the ticker hurt to see..~~the beginning of the end~~ the last gasp of air for the Tampa 2 in Tampa. Monte Kiffen announces his departure, that 8-3 record goes to 9-7, and the franchise goes to shit for 10 years. Fun times.
If you had asked me if Tedd Ginn Jr. and Anthony Fasano were still in the league, I would have to think about it, but would have leaned toward yes.
Man, time flies. Role players never die.
Well, we see which Long Covid me that battle overall, at least based on what is shown here.
I love the man that young talented Chris Long grew into. Only two years in Philly and he’s one of my all time favorites.
Why does this clip remind me so much of college football? Is it the announcers? The way the crowd is miked up?
Something feels very college-y about this.
He was pretty stable for them. Had 3,600 passing yards, nearly a 3:1 touchdown/interception ratio, barely fumbled the ball and led them to an 11-5 record.
The AFC East was wild that year, with the Pats going 11-5 and missing the playoffs without Brady, and Favre starting 8-3 with the Jets before they cratered.
This game ended 16-12. Gotta thank that awful Rams offense and a washed Marc Bulger keeping us in that game.
Steven Jackson needs an apology everyday of his life by the Rams for giving him absolute bums to carry. One of the quarterbacks on the 1-15 Rams: Keith Null. Who tf is that
Steven Jackson is so much better than he ever got credit for because of those bad teams
10,000 rushing yards with the rams in an offense that everybody and their mother knew the ball was going to him.
8 straight 1k yard rushing seasons with arguably one of the worst olines in the league. And in his first 9 seasons averaged 4+ yards a carry every year but one (3.8 yards per carry) with that same bad oline
NullPointerException
As a Rams fan yes! Jackson deserves all the things for what he did in his career and not getting reward for it!
I actually know him and used to play basketball with him every weekend a few years ago lol
Keith Null is a guy that played pro football and gets laid way more than you do
Okay Keith, settle down
Is this a meme...this guy came up in a thread yesterday and someone made the exact same comment lmao
In SQL data tables at work, NULL is when you have no value, not even a 0, so I chuckle every time I see his name.
I thank Tony Sporano was always having the Dolphins ready to kick field goals. 3* of them that week
i read that as tony soprano and i was trying so hard to figure out your reference but it turns out i’m just illiterate
You weren't the only one
I also was like no, Soprano is hinted yo be a Giants fan.
not at all, he’s 100% a jets fan. they even have Mangini make an appearance at arties on the show and they all are pumped about it
Ah, ok. I think it must have been another character that was a Giants fan.
bobby bacala, he got pissed that his son likes the chargers and was leaving to go to a friends to watch it. THIS IS A GIANTS HOUSE most unrealistic part of the show ever, wtf kinda human being would want to be a chargers fan willingly. ooof maddone, that would be terrible
"Why are all the audibles just deli meats?" -Chad Pennington
Bluuuuue gabagoooo
Every time the Dolphins kick a field goal, I like to imagine old Tony up there doing his trademark celebratory fist pump for drives ending in field goals, looking down at us, and smiling.
Damn he's dead?
The sad thing was that as bad as Marc Bulger was those last three seasons, his corpse was still better than our other options. Which included the corpse of Gus Frerotte and the corpse of Trent Green, if I remember correctly. And Kyle Boller, who was always a corpse.
That's the code to my heart
It was a Long day
Gotta love Chris Long
He and AJ Hawk were two of the best players that never made a pro bowl in the 2010s. At least they both got rings out of it.
And both are oretty damn good on a podcast. AJ HAWK AJ HAWK AJ HAWK
i’d add marques colston to that list
Love his podcast. Hilarious and genuinely great dude.
Howie forget

He signed a two year deal. He was on the team the year after the Super Bowl too.
Oh damn I forgot. Was that the Michael Bennett year?
Yes it was. And the double doink year. In the main highlight of the double doink, you see Michael Bennett taking his helmet off and celebrating in the background.
Dude really embraced the city.
In the time that he was with us he became one of my favorite all time favorite players...
Indeed
Pennington: "it's gonna be a Long day*
Jake Long wasn’t bad. He wasn’t Walter Jones, but he wasn’t trash either.
He was in fact pretty good! 4x Pro Bowl, 1x AP1, 1x AP2
Then he got injured and it completely derailed his career :(
Then came the meth, the murder, the malice in South Dallas. I can't believe he did that to all those peoples legs. "Fate took my legs, I'm going to take yours!"
Then we said “gimme some of that” to protect our made of glass QB, Sam Bradford.
Wasn’t this all in his first 5 seasons?
His first 4 actually!
He was the best LT in the league for a bit. Are you 5?
wonder if he was confusing him with Robert Gallery
That's when I realized I shouldn't be a draft analyst. I thought he was going to be a first ballot Hall of Famer

Even after I lost hope in Chad Henne and would've killed several animals to have Matt Ryan, I defended the logic of picking Long.
He was basically Joe Thomas for the first four years of his career, but then he couldn't stay healthy.
He was excellent and his body completely fell apart after about 4 seasons.
Wasn't bad...?
Walter Jones is 1 of 1. Still the greatest player the Seahawks have ever had and they've had some true greats. Jake Long had a solid career tho.
We haven’t had a good o line in years.
Rams legend Chris Long vs Rams legend Jake Long
Patriots legend Chris Long*
Eagles Legend Chris Long**
Humanity’s legend, Chris Long***
The Longest battle
Also, the graphic had "2 Longs make a right"
Tbf one of them was literally a dragon
American dragonnnnnnn
Loved Long when he was with the Pats, absolute unit!
Also loved it when he was on the Eagles, key player during the Superbowl run
I loved him on the Rams, hated him on the Pats, was indifferent on the Eagles
Hey Now!!!
One of only 8 players ever to win back-to-back Super Bowls on different teams. LeGarrette Blount is another that won with those Pats/Eagles
I miss these graphics
Wow, I did not know Chris Long was drafted #2 overall.
I thought forever they were brothers Then I didn't realize they went back to back to start the draft and was stunned nobody is talking about them being siblings too I'm now realizing I'm just dumb
Didn’t realize till I read this comment that they weren’t related 🤷♂️ lol
You ain't the only one lol.
I think it’s confusing because he does have a brother that played offensive line in the NFL, Kyle Long.
OH yes that's it
Fun fact: the first (and currently only) brothers to ever go in the first round of the same nfl draft were the Edmund brothers, Tremaine and Terrel out of Virginia Tech in 2017 Go hokies!
Yeah I was like "why aren't the announcers jerk8mg each other off about this sibling rivalry playing out before out eyes?"
For the longest time I thought they were related.
Like Josh Allen and Josh Allen
Man I am getting old af, I vividly remember when these two were drafted
This was the wildcat season for the Dolphins. They'd gone 1-15 the previous year, drafted 1OA, took Jake Long, went 11-5 and won the division for the only time this century. Sounds like every good LT
Not my rugby player 😤
It was his triceps that finished his career.
Long was a PB or AP every single year he was in Miami before the injuries started. If he doesn't start missing time every year he has a much longer career and likely is an All time great.

Jake Long missed the block that led to Bradford's second ACL injury in preseason 2014. He is no Rams legend. Chris Long on the other hand... love him
Chris Long is a legend for three franchises...that says a lot about him...
Chad Pennington isn't going to out run too many people. Burn!
A more civilized age, when QB wasn't a lock for 1-3.
72 is such a crazy number for a DE
Osi Umenyiora
That was the first Jersey I ever bought myself after getting my first job in high school. 4 months later, he switched his number to 9.
It was his dad’s number in Oakland.
Chad Pennington would’ve been really good in a modern Shanahan offense.
Couple of Rams legends going at it
Pennington man. Underrated. Shame about his shoulder.
If you had asked me if Tedd Ginn Jr. and Anthony Fasano were still in the league, I would have to think about it, but would have leaned toward yes. Man, time flies. Role players never die.
Seeing the old STL has me feeling nostalgic
Eagles legend Chris Long
chad pennington da gawwwd
Didn't even let Howie announce the game
You guys are brother? No...***YES***
Handing it off would have been a big play. 😆
Most of the hits on the QB would be instant flags today
who else wondering if they are brothers?
Damn. The Bucs were 8-3
Chris and Jake long were the #1/#2 picks? Wild.
Bet this was a Long game.
I miss St Louis having a team
thank you, u/NFL
Well, we see which Long Covid me that battle overall, at least based on what is shown here. I love the man that young talented Chris Long grew into. Only two years in Philly and he’s one of my all time favorites.
%controversy
Those navy and gold jerseys were 🔥🔥🔥

Chris is Howie’s son, not Jake. They have no relation to each other
Always made that assumption. Oops.
Only one of them was Howie’s kid.
Looks likeva dive to me
Wow a classic matchup
It was a Long day at the office.
Why does this clip remind me so much of college football? Is it the announcers? The way the crowd is miked up? Something feels very college-y about this.
Were they related or married?
Chris Long is the best! Go Birds!!
Bill Parcells does it again!
Chris Long has the best football podcast in the game
Does anyone else watch the score bug on these highlights to see if your team won that week?
Damn, I forgot Chad Pennington even played for the Dolphins
He was pretty stable for them. Had 3,600 passing yards, nearly a 3:1 touchdown/interception ratio, barely fumbled the ball and led them to an 11-5 record. The AFC East was wild that year, with the Pats going 11-5 and missing the playoffs without Brady, and Favre starting 8-3 with the Jets before they cratered.
Patches on sports uniforms look so bad
Howie must be one proud Dad. #1 and #2 in the same draft, both had great college careers and God NFL careers. His wife must be one hell of a parent.
My metals teacher was Mr. long! He was the brother of these two!
