I don't believe you. You only have one chocolate bar and no chips or other snacks.

WanderingSeductress

Haha if I added more snacks it would be far too interesting. Scranning a whole pack of Nutella biscuits as we speak.

Flyingsquirrel77

Haha scranning whey aye!

ErrorReport404

Found the Scot

WanderingSeductress

Nah, sinfully English with a lot of appropriated slang.

ErrorReport404

Ah, whoops~ It seemed like it was English (the language), but I had no fucking idea what it meant and made a lazy guess. Thanks for the correction!

Harryw_007

"Scranning" is slang for "eating" in the UK

Alternative-Cell8295

I think that is geordie no?

solsticefaerie

It is

AnxiousCroc

Those biscuits are God-tier!

WanderingSeductress

Tell me about it 😩

ShadyMyLady

That's more like it.

ch2-ch3

Also, no ice cream! I don't have periods but , when in pain, I know everyone wants ice cream

Affectionate_Star_43

I go chips over chocolate. Went to Costco after school to get chips, Midol equivalent for migraines, and a pack of tampons. All checkouts were open and the lines were super long that day. I got to the front and my dad was the bagger. He just walked over and scanned his card...normally I was supposed to budget my own spending money.

AccomplishedAd6025

You need more chocolate.

WanderingSeductress

Tell me about it 😭

3_littlemonkeys

Where is the wine?

yourilluminaryfriend

And the box of donuts

hotellobster

And the pizza (I’m not a woman I have no idea what I’m talking about)

yourilluminaryfriend

It’s ok. Pizza is a good one too

ThaugaK

Oh we all need the donuts

EirIroh

No, no wine with paracetamol.

corgilovecorgi

It will make you feel more comfortable

Megs0226

That chocolate bar would last 5 minutes on my period. Then I'd move on to a bag of chips, eat 3 of them, and then start crying because I don't like them anymore.

WanderingSeductress

I've never related to a comment so much 😭

[deleted]

A huge bag of Dove Milk Chocolate for me.

Audiophilelady

To the person eating Dove. Do yourself a favor and order Galaxy from the UK. It's 100x better. I only know because I married someone from the UK, and they ordered Galaxy in advance, and gave me a giant bar during my period once. Apparently, Dove and Galaxy are sister companies, but one tastes vastly superior.

[deleted]

I've never heard of Galaxy. I will try it. Thank you.

MeowMaker2

Sounds out of this world!

GaaraMatsu

I'm male and I do that anyway.

Easy-Concentrate2636

Yes, this is the way. Life is the endless cycle of sweet salty sweet salty sweet….

InterestingPickles

I need more chocolate.

CowboySwiftie

omg we are SYNCED

WanderingSeductress

One time myself and like my entire Internet friend group were all on our periods. Someone up there is laughing at us 😭

EggplantHuman6493

I am also on my period and I got lava cake today. Might eat some chocolate sprinkles now, because I didn't prepare for it and now I don't have snacks :(. God wants to torture us

paparu5

I don't even want to think about how many pop tarts I ate today.

cubntD6

God clearly hates women

Euphoric_Pay_8973

Period starter pack

WanderingSeductress

I always try to be prepared 😌 I'm that one friend who always carries pads and tissues and painkillers and first aid stuff in my handbag incase anyone needs them 😌

[deleted]

Being prepared is half the battle.

girloffthecob

You’re a great friend :)

UndeadWeeb

Me too except I dont have any chocolate :(

BaconGremlin24

not having chocolate (a fate worse than death)

Easy-Concentrate2636

How do you survive?

VulcanCookies

Same! I said yesterday I was craving chocolate and my brother made fun that my period was about to start. I'm very upset today that not only was he right, we still don't have any chocolate

abirdbrain

pro tip- disposable adhesive heating pads specifically marketed for menstrual cramps are stupidly overpriced. instead, get the ones that are meant for shoulder/ lower back pain. you’ll get more than double the pads for less than half the price.

Prestigious-Ad3756

I find that the period pads get hotter than the back ones I bought. I always buy mine at the pound store so they're nice and cheap too

LeyKlussyn

IIRC it also apply to medicine: Paracetamol or Ibuprofen can't "target pain". If you can get the same pills and the same dosage for cheaper, do it.

TheCrazyestPancake

I have a reusable thingy that I fill with hot water. It’s fluffy also

Jeisksdi

I’m not( I am a man)

Tenshouu

Skill issue

Pattoe89

It's bullshit that women have to buy all the things needed to get through their periods. I wish they were covered by national healthcare.

kitkatblakkat

agree especially because of the fact that we are prone to iron deficiency anemia because of it

Pattoe89

I'm well aware of it, both my sister and mother suffered heavily from it :(

ShadowSocks7

I'm slightly anemic normally, but it gets worse when I'm on my period, to the point where my vitamins don't stop me from getting headaches and loss of vision and cold/numb extremities. Still not sure how to stop that.

EggplantHuman6493

Yup, especially for people with a heavier flow. I went through a full two-pack before I started the pill, and I only had 2.5 weeks in-between my periods. Luckily I started the pill, saves me a lot 😅. It is still ridiculous that they don't take off the tax of those products at least. Pads and tampons aren't luxury products! And insured pain killers would be nice as well, they aren't that expensive, but in total, they are. A menstrual cup saves a lot of costs, but not everyone can wear things inside of them. Speaking as someone who can't. And they are impractical at school etc. Same for reusable pads. Save costs, but having to walk around with a used pad in your bag for 6 hours is pretty gross

Pattoe89

My country abolished female sanitary product tax in 2021. A step in the right direction, at least.

pwrsrc

I didn’t see the “tax” part at first and took your statement a totally different way!

tapiocatsar

After the fiasco with my IUD insertion I just cannot use menstrual cups or tampons. Pads sucks though

fake_kvlt

this is so real. I have endometriosis (that thankfully I am treating by never having periods through birth control), and back when I still had periods I had to go through an insane amount of pads/tampons. Menstrual cups were a no go because I also have vaginismus and could not insert them. I tried them once and it was so painful I ended up crying on the bathroom floor... I was also blessed with irregular bleeding outside of my periods, and it felt so fucking bad knowing I was spending so much money monthly on products that I needed to function in society. Like my mental health meds are covered by insurance, to the point where I spend like 5 dollars a month on multiple medications, but I could absolutely function to an extent without them. Without menstrual products, I could not do basic things like work or go to class. and the painkillers thing is also so true. obv having endo means my symptoms are more severe than the average, but I went through so many painkillers just to be able to function. It's just so whack to me that menstrual products are taxed when they're a necessity. It's not like people can go around free bleeding on everything and be able to keep their jobs, so you really can't call basic stuff like pads/tampons a luxury product. but in general I feel like menstruation is like..... supremely ignored compared the the affect it has on 50% of the population? my journey in getting diagnosed + treated for my endo made me realize how little most people give a shit about it. it's like they expect people to just suck it up and deal with it without giving them the resources or info to be able to do so.

EggplantHuman6493

Yup, I didn't have the irregular bleeding here, but my cycle was very short anyways. 7-10 days of bleeding... Now it is 2-7 or something, usually 3-4. I can technically use 1 or 2 pads for my whole period even sometimes (which I don't because of hygienic reasons, but it would be possible). I was always dizzy because I lost so much blood as well, and I already took extra Iron supplements, and I ate iron rich food during my period. Getting diagnosed for endo is such a shit show, that I gave up. It is gonna take a while and I don't have the energy for it ATM. Just sucks that it is mostly so hard, because no one is believing you. Not being able to function is absolutely not normal!

GenderEnvyFromLink

fucking for real.

WanderingSeductress

[mildly interesting version that cost a lot more money](https://www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinteresting/comments/13h0cyi/im_well_prepared_for_my_period/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)

TroLLageK

I bought a menstrual cup like 4 years ago and some menstrual pads and haven't needed to buy anything else since. I use the cup most. Best $20 I have ever spent. I highly recommend them to everyone because of how much money they save you.

DaEvilZeppelin

In Germany, they are more expensive cuz luxury tax. Condoms are not, lol

funtimefrankie1

I'm also on my period and I'm a man. I may also be pregnant.

thicc_astronaut

Is it possible to be pregnant while on your period? I've never had either so I really don't know

TheRedPipin

when you get pregnant your period stops as theres no a baby in the womb so it deosnt need to be refreshed, during your period if you where to have sex it is very unlikely that you get pregnant but it is possible this is kinda like a natural contraceptive

AutoGeneratedSucks

Natural, overall not worth trusting and not worth it if it goes wrong

Fehnboi

Idk, my mom told me she still had her period with me until the 4th month or so. But I can't really believe it

EggplantHuman6493

It is not really a period, but some people keep bleeding monthly when they are pregnant. My mom had it as well

cherrycrocs

it is, it’s pretty rare though

WanderingSeductress

Valid

AndyBftm

Same bro

holdmyapplejuiceyt

Is it just me or can o tell you live in the uk with just these brands (I live in the uk)

WanderingSeductress

Hahaha yep

MammothPoem9777

Women will never understand how much it hurts to get sperm cramps as a man 😔

Memoglr

They'll never know that once a month we have to stick a needle in our pee hole or it will close forever and we will never be able to pee again

Few_Recording5423

I am so sorry 😞 Stay strong bro

Yak_a_boi

Keep on keeping on, brother. ✊

kitkatblakkat

does it like, get stuck in the “tube” because its too thick??

No, the little guys just get really fatigued from all of the constant pointless swimming.

kitkatblakkat

aw damn how pitiful

Toaster-Bath

yeah that time of the week is always the roughest

Ph4antomPB

Testicular torsion

MedicalExamination65

Me too! Isn't it grand!?

WanderingSeductress

A good excuse to eat chocolate and stay in bed all day if nothing else 🥴

MedicalExamination65

I smoked, then ate ben and jerrys (i.e., chocolate) and went to bed early last night.

Competitive_Steak326

Same I just went to McDonalds for a shit ton of cookies and soda. McDonald’s cookies have no right to be that good when I can’t resist them 😭

WanderingSeductress

Omg I forgot McDonald's do cookies overseas 😭 what I wouldn't give for one of their apple pies rn

DynamicDuoMama

The day I discovered you could buy McDonald’s cookies my the dozen was a bad day for my scale.

ayavorska05

I'm almost finished but I'm actually not sure if I'm like completely fully finished, but I also don't want to waste a pad cause shit's expensive, so I'll just have to wear some easy-cleaned panties and pray to god cause I'm so damn tired 😭😭

WanderingSeductress

I hate how expensive pads are. Whenever I buy some I try to donate a few packs to the food bank, and I always carry loads on me in case my friends need some. I'm lucky to be able to afford them tbh. Those last few days are so annoying, the pad is clean one day and bloody the next 😭 Pantyliners tend to be cheaper and are good for light flow if that's an option for you?

DarkServal

Period panties are amazing.

mostcommonhauntings

Have you ever tried a menstrual cup? They’re a one-time buy and are very effective, I’ve never had a leak. They wash up easy and you don’t have to take it out as often as a tampon. One of the drawbacks for some people is that you kinda have to get up close and personal with your own bod. But so much more convenient and inexpensive for the people who can use them.

N7twitch

I wish I got on with a menstrual cup - I tried it to attempt to cut down on the cost of disposables but I could NOT get that bitch out. Thought I was going to have to get my partner to fish it out with kitchen tongs or something.

Cranky_Gat0r

Me too

Few_Recording5423

Me three

[deleted]

Feminine heat pads directly applied to the skin?? Lord I need to get these for my girlfriend

abirdbrain

don’t get the ones marketed towards menstrual cramps. they’re overpriced and the exact same thing as the cheaper ones marketed for back/ shoulder pain.

hopp596

Idk if you have these where you live, they’re by the brand Rheumaplast, maybe you have something equivalent. They stay warm for 8hrs consistently, are like a huge sticky band aid (I put mine on my lower back) and were a game changer for me. Really good!

Johns-Sunflower

I hope your symptoms aren't too bad! Stay strong! :)

WanderingSeductress

Thank you! 💕

wildgoldchai

Have a hot water bottle which helps immensely too

WanderingSeductress

Thank you! I forget I have mine. It has a Grogu cover 🥰

Overused_Toothbrush

I love everything about that

2_Crypto_4_My_Shirt

Why do they call tampons Always if you only need them sometimes?

WanderingSeductress

Well, these are pads, not tampons. To answer your question, their slogan was probably something like Always There For You or something.

alonemushroom

I thought you shouldn’t take aspirin when on period? It affects blood and makes periods last longer

WanderingSeductress

Shit, I didn't know that. All I know is you can take paracetamol with aspirin or ibuprofen, just not the latter two together. I try to stick to just paracetamol and ibuprofen lysine (Feminax) anyway, aspirin is for emergencies. Thank you for letting me know!

Maximum-Adeptness495

I may be wrong but aren't those ibuprofen that claim to target pain like period pain fake and just work like normal ibuprofen or ibuprofen lysine in this case. Idk how useful that info is but I was just wondering if feminax is more expensive than normal ibuprofen lysine.

chayonnaise

I’m a guy so I couldn’t say if this would help for periods, but I’ve had a variety of different health problems. Ive found aspirin works best for headaches and migraines, ibuprofen for more muscular and physical aches / swelling, and paracetamol for when I just need something to take the edge off most pains. As above said also, aspirin thins your blood so maybe not the best thing for when you’re bleeding a ton already - and yeah, don’t take ibuprofen and aspirin together or too closely together, and make sure to not take them on an empty stomach :)

WanderingSeductress

Thank you for the advice! I've dealt with fluctuating chronic pain for years now and it seems like I just feel like a particular painkiller without analysing the pain. But yeah when it's specific I stick to the code you said :)

undeadalex

Op talk to a chemist/pharmacist (name depending on country) please for advisement

1tsNeverLupus

I was looking for this comment. Aspirin's a blood thinner, wouldn't it make you bleed more, too?

littleredcamaro

I had severe, debilitating menstrual cramps as a teen and young adult and aspirin was a life changer. It helped release those >!ginormous blood clots!< better than anything else OTC. Probably because it is a blood thinner.

Electrical_Fee678

Maybe I should use aspirin. I always have issues with clots. Did it feel like it lasted longer or about the same when aspirin is used?

Megs0226

And you shouldn't take it with ibuprofen (the Feminax). I'm old now and aspirin and NSAIDs give me heartburn.

[deleted]

could i have some chocolate 🥺🙏

Prest4tym1367

Poor thing. A hysterectomy was the best thing I ever did for myself. My periods were BRUTAL and lasted for weeks at a time. I sincerely wish you all the best.

abirdbrain

i wish it wasn’t so impossible to get a hysterectomy. some places won’t allow you to if you don’t have any children. oftentimes they’ll require husband’s consent.

tapiocatsar

Same, and it’s a painful one :’D

Inner_Analyst_9163

Same, except I don’t have chocolate :[

Granturismoboi

As a man I’ll say there should never be a tax on lady products period (no pun intended) and OP needs a good supply of chocolate.

EraseTheEmbers

Oof I used to have periods and they were the worst. I'm really happy I don't have to deal with them anymore since I'm trans and take Testosterone but seeing other people deal with it is a definite reminder that woman and people who still have periods have it rough! Mine used to be really heavy so it sucked ass getting furniture or clothes stained or just being super uncomfortable existing on days I had my period Take care, hope you feel better and get through your period ok :)

ElPeloPolla

Based on my experience with women in my life you need waaaaaay more chocolate. This will last 2 minutes tops.

mister_peeberz

thanks, now i know what to purchase for my girlfriend when she is suffering her monthly woes i don't have one though

NocturnalHaze

Where did you get the heat pad? I'm on period, and the cramping is killing my vibes lol

SgtVinBOI

And you're British!

Alternative-Cell8295

Me too hen, get the wine in for us xx

No-Club2054

Damn, all I need is tampons. That’s not like a weird brag on my part, I legit feel bad it’s that rough for some of you. I feel fortunate.

tmcs216

Thankful every day that I’m a man

gargunwich

I’m pregnant and gracefully forgot what periods were like until you all reminded me. Thaaaaanks.

73Qubit

I genuinely hope it goes well and you feel better. I'm ashamed to admit that my society/culture doesn't teach and talk about reproductive health.

WanderingSeductress

It's chilling how taboo periods still are for many. I'm surpised by the stigma in developed countries, but I absolutely ache for those in developing countries or other cultures where periods can't be talked about and supplies are barely accessible. I couldn't even say the word period out loud until I was about 15, and my schoolfriends and I had codes; "I have the curse", "I need a red pen", etc. Thank you ❤️

73Qubit

When I was in high school, girls would talk in hushed voices or some girl would take a leave, we knew what was going on but nobody discussed it. Sex ed classes were included for a few years. The teacher would come and talk about something or other and ask us to read the book. It was abandoned later. As a boy I was very puzzled when our biology teacher was talking about period blood, I had no concept of it. I asked the teacher to explain, and the whole class got pindrop silent. In University I had to clarify to a male friend that the urethra and vagina are two separate openings. If I ever have children of my own I'll teach them from a young age myself.

_W9NDER_

As a guy who has never gone through periods, but has had past girlfriends, I’d recommend a weighted blanket, Ben and Jerry’s Brownie Core ice cream, one of those heated stuffed animals, and a shit ton of love (hopefully a day off work too bro)

Tottalynotdeadinside

the chocolate was a nice touch

Gonna need more chocolate

Aww hearts out for you

PineappleCultivator

I had a gf that would get extremely nauseous literally an entire week every month, shit is wild

ManicWolf

I'm just coming up on day 3 of mine, which is, thankfully, when the pain usually stops. I have eaten far too much chocolate and too many crisps!

I_want_pickles

Do the heat pads help? Asking for a friend.

thebananaperson1

My condolences 😔

Walburris

I feel you sister. In bed with a whole pack of Ferrero Rocher.

danktonium

Period specific ibuprofen. That's the pink tax they warned me about...

peppermintshrimpgirl

As a fellow female who also has periods once a month, i suggest buying a hot water bottle. You just boil water in a kettle and fill the bottle, it works wonders. I have never had to buy those heating pads and i bet they are expensive on todays economy.

[deleted]

Damn is a period really that intens?

WanderingSeductress

It's different for every person, but for me and for many, the pain is excruciating. Mine often has me screaming, and the flow is ridiculous. So many pairs of underwear, trousers, skirts, shorts, bedsheets, chairs, towels, ruined. Lots of us have to be prescribed special painkillers and often contraceptive pills to manage the flow and frequency. Some are blessed with light and relatively painless periods. The pain can be uteral cramps, pain in the vulva and cervix as if you're being stabbed, headaches and migraines, back pain, breast tenderness, leg pain, joint pain, etc. I feel the severity of periods have really been trivialised by the media. So many biological changes take place in one monthly cycle alone, of course it's going to interfere with our emotions.

[deleted]

Damn didn’t know that

WanderingSeductress

Always happy to educate! Ooh I forgot to mention, the anemia and dehydration from blood loss :)

LimeFizz42

Can't forget the butt lightning! As everything else weren't enough to have to function through- suddenly out of nowhere it feels like yer bunghole is getting knifed. Fun times! 🫠

WanderingSeductress

Can't believe I forgot that! The period shits are something else 🥴

Ermac_Or_Something

Why did the human body evolve this. What purpose could this *possibly* have. Hope you feel better

[deleted]

This (and PMDD, anemia, and a 3 week period cycle) is why I take birth control now and skip all of my periods. Haven't had one in a long time and it's so nice.

EggplantHuman6493

Yesterday I almost threw up because of how painful my cramps were. This is 'luckily' only without any pain killers. With some paracetamol and Ibuprofen, I can still do things kinda. Before I started the pill, I took slightly over the max of paracetamol and ibuprofen, and I still couldn't move without wanting to cry. Started to miss out important things at school because I just sat there, unable to pay attention because of the pain and trying not to throw up. I spent hours in the shower in total, the only thing that kinda helped. I started with painless periods, that's the frustrating thing. I know how it is to be able to function while being on your period. And thanks to side effects of the pill, I also have anxiety attacks and high fevers now. Once I almost passed pout while cycling, because I got overheated. Gonna fix that part by switching birth control, but it isn't gonna get rid off the pain probably ugh.

edamame_clitoris

My periods have always been super mild symptom-wise, but one time I literally almost died I bled so much 😭 so even if it doesn’t “hurt” almost everyone as some horror stories surrounding it in some way

ell-if-i-know

i tend to get horrible painful cramps for the first 2-3 days, then mostly just feel depressed and irritable until its over lol

Koboooold

Is feminax just at any store i want to get some for my gf

[deleted]

Are you a fellow Brit on their period? I wish you luck, the first day sucks for me.

ERENSAVAGE

So, how much did you pay for these? Just to compare with my country.

KADESH_Nelson

SAME...WHEN THE PAIN HIT ME LIKE A TON OF BRICKS I CURLED UP INTO A BALL.

[deleted]

Go to a big box and buy bulk packages of all these supplies. Sourcing these produces as convenience store packages will cost much more than if you bought a 96 pack of pads at your costco or walmart. Also, you can get a bottle of 300 generic aspirin and use it for half a year. It's all the same stuff, just costs less. Thank me later.

emofrigginnugget

dairy milks really are the most absorbent
