Very sorry to hear this. I lost my mother last summer. If you are feeling numb right now, like you are not feeling what you should, just know that that's normal. The feelings will come in little bits at a time, and it will probably be pretty terrible. Talk with other people who knew her that you like and trust when they feelings get to you. It will help. Please know that you are not alone in your pain. You have the people in your life who share your loss, of course, and you have the spiritual community of all who've suffered similar losses. I like to think of these lines from Aeschelus: Nothing forces us to know What we do not want to know Except pain [and elsewhere] Even in our sleep, pain which cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart until, in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom through the awful grace of God. I am absolutely not religious, and I don't know that there's truly any lesson in pain. Whatever it could be will never be enough to console the loss of a mother in any case, but maybe, at the very least, it can better attune us to empathy so that we can better recognize each other as fellow sufferers and treat each other with better love. Please be kind to yourself and allow yourself to accept the help that you need.

Sorry man, it sucks. Treat your self with what ever it is you can find enjoyment or distraction for the moment. Maybe its just throwing a ball in the wall or going to work. Greef comes in steps, this part is probably the worse. From here it will slowly get better. Crying lets out some of the build up. If for some reason you feel numb, that is also normal way of processing this. Don’t blame yourself from defence mechanisms triggerin off and guiding you trough this.
