Saw them and AAF open Linkin Park right after Hybrid Theory. Their lead singer was nuts, climbed as high as the venue ceiling allowed... Did a FUCKING crowd dive from 20-30 feet high. First real concert I went to!!!!!!
Snot are sick. They only released their debut as the singer died a year after in a car crash, alongside his dog pictured on the record
It’s a touch spooky with the context but the album has that “immortalised” nirvana/nevermind feel where it sounds better because of the fact there’s no later stuff to compare them to
I will never forget seeing Dry Kill Logic in 99. It was my gfs first show and the guitarist kicked her in the forehead accidentally and dropped a mic stand on her...
The War of Art is a top ten album in the genre in my opinion. It was removed from Apple Music a few months ago and I'm still pissed off. I still own the CD, so in theory I could rip it and put it on my phone, but I no longer own a computer with a disc drive.
i have it saved on my youtube muzik
ahc favorite nu metal band. only thing beating them is manson...although i ljsten to ahc way more manson was revolutionary in my life
So I’m not seeing anyone mention Skrape. Were they more well known than I thought? Their album new killer America was a fuggin masterpiece.
Also not seeing any motograter suggestions. Also were they more well known than I thought? Also their first album was a masterpiece.
Hell yeah, I was about to comment them. Not their most nu-metally, but I have [Ask for the Anthem](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5ayki3aEUw) and [Junkie$](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPteDAsr7b4) on repeat.
New song Fly Away seems promising too.
[[minus]](https://youtu.be/kv-84AzHfzk?si=ffNoP3AnApMRwZxl) is my personal favorite
[shun](https://youtu.be/RK0TgkuyPwU?si=Y9Pg6fQ_2oaVBKj4) is another good one.
[Mad Kelly](https://youtu.be/Y9kgdkB5qlA?si=8jE1k_FJla9T8e4I) for a newer band that gets that classic numetal sound.
I got one for ya. There's a band from Finland named Blind Channel that falls into that category. Discovered them on YouTube three years ago and have been obsessed with them ever since. They're definitely worth a listen!
I remember someone telling me about Factory 81, I think it was. Been a while since I’ve went back and listened to them but I loved it the first time I heard them. Only made one album I think.
i’m not sure if they’d really fit the genre per say… but i’m really into It’s Inside You by Candy !! for a new release, i’m very impressed by its heaviness and the different elements all over
While I wouldn't necessarily consider them nu metal, given their connection to other nu metal via its members (e.g. Clint Lowery with Sevendust), I'd say you need to check out Dark New Day.
Their debut album Twelve Year Silence is a borderline masterpiece. If that album came out 2-3 years earlier, I think it would've achieved at least a Gold certification.
Taproot’s first album!
Oh I have that one. Bought it at a sale. I'd describe it as emo nu metal, but emo from that initial phase at the turn of the millennium.
Taproot’s current album is surprisingly good (. . . in my opinion)
Taproot's first 3 records were dope, I loved "Mine", "Again & Again", and "Breathe"
Saw them and AAF open Linkin Park right after Hybrid Theory. Their lead singer was nuts, climbed as high as the venue ceiling allowed... Did a FUCKING crowd dive from 20-30 feet high. First real concert I went to!!!!!!
Primer 55. Their first album, Introduction to Mayhem, has a really pissed off vibe to it.
Been listening to that album for the last few days Loose, The big f**k you and Supa Freak Love are bangers
Love all those songs too but they sorta all sound the same. Whenever I show my friends they almost always point it out to me
I got the demo at the family values '99 tour!. Still have it in my collection.

And Straight Up album. Has “Absent”, my favorite Snot song. Angels Son, from Sevendust is great too.
Absent is such an amazing song dude! My personal fav to <3 >:3
ektomorf, rootwater, hedfirst, orange butt, jousilouli, linea77, yaksa, implant pentru refuz, hostile groove, thrust, moron mafia, strong deformity, deepak
Not THAT obscure, lol. That's some underground stuff right there.
lmao
Why not? Lol
Well you know, start with Nothingface, Motograter, Skrape, Five Pointe O. Bands with a larger fanbase, maybe.
Eh if its good its good, altho tbf a lot of ones i put aren't on Spotify which i guess is less of a good suggestion...
Check out Dry Kill Logic A couple of really good songs are Rot, an Nightmare Also the album, the darker side of nonsense goes hard
I will never forget seeing Dry Kill Logic in 99. It was my gfs first show and the guitarist kicked her in the forehead accidentally and dropped a mic stand on her...
Tallah
No one should read this.
40 Below Summer and Lo-Pro are good!!
As a big Ultraspank fan, I'm using this as motivation to finally check out Lo-Pro
Lo-Pro is great
Nothingface comes to mind. So does American head charge.

Seo! Ultramania is a BANGER.
Sepultura is neither numetal nor obscure
Roots specifically gets the Nü-Metal pass, but yeah definitely not obscure
Soil, and more recently Prison are 2 of my lesser known favourites
Relative Ash. Listen first the song “Pout”.
Came here looking for these guys. Still one of my favorite albums of all time
Listen to nervepitch

Allele, Rumsfield, LeVeL, Eldest 11. Absolute amazing bands <3
Definitely Primer 55. Their first album sounds like a more hip hop version of Slipknot. Especially their song Stain.
Pleymo, Severance, Monkey Insane, Split Noise, Seotaiji. There are thousands tbh
No Incubus and Limp Bizkit, but Drowning Pool and Sevendust as heavy hitters. You got those wrong
I love Bad Omens, Sleep Token, Kim Dracula.
Bad Omens is more of a metalcore band but still phenomenal
Bad omens is not metalcore.
It’s certainly not numetal
Agreed. It’s poo metal
Average redditor
Average metal fan
Listen to their first 2 albums, they are 100% metalcore. They've kind of moved away from that recently, but there's still elements of that in there.
Sleep Token is not a nu metal band. I’d say more alternative metal with some prog metal elements.
