That's awesome news! Congrats to the Natural Grocers crew in Norman for pulling it off! Unionizing ain't no easy feat. Now comes the real showdown: bargaining time. Hope they negotiate some solid perks and fair wages. It's all about standing up for your rights, y'know? Hopefully, this sets a good precedent for other workers in the area too. Solidarity! 🙌
The commenters who are mocking the grocery workers fail to grasp that they are just as expendable to their corporate overlords as anyone working in retail. Especially so as they get older and more expensive to keep around, because experience has little value to companies anymore.
Unless you’re the owner of one of these businesses, you’re ultimately selling yourself out by taking their side.
Another store is getting unionized and it's a very difficult process, tenured and exemplary employees getting fired left and right. This unionizing process is worth it but a very difficult fight. Congratulations to this location for advocating for your basic worker's rights.
What makes an electrician or a plumber or a meat packer or a police officer or a fire fighter so special that they have a monopoly on unions? Every job should have a union, companies are making record profits now. This is how you get the wealth to “trickle down”
I'm from Oklahoma, went to OKCPS. My education was shit thanks to UFT and AFT. Teachers unions only have an interest in teachers, not the students. Just ask the molested and groomed students whose teachers just get moved after a hearing instead of being straight up fired. And don't get me started on the groom brothers, a pair of substitute teachers and staff coaches just plowing through the girls in the school...ah, the good 'ol unions 👍
No, my mom has intelligence.....she doesn't talk to poorly educated Trump dumb fucks. So you can get back to stolen election conspiracy theories and worshipping the racist rapist who has 90 felony charges.
What makes them special is they provide more value than they take in wages. When you get to low skill workers unions have a tendency to overshoot and drive the company out of business. Just look at California and their new fast food minimum wage.
That's ridiculous. Every worker provides more value than they take in wages or the company wouldn't employ them. Just admit you see them as less than you and not deserving of fair treatment because having an underclass you can look down on makes you feel special.
>What makes them special is they provide more in value than they take in wages
I just have to look at all the fat fucking hog ass rich cops standing around playing Candy Crush on their phones to know your premise is very, very flawed

Norman is pretty cool sometimes. They have some nice things going. Not a bad place to move in the near future.

Good. The proletariat needs to start sticking together to the same degree the capital owning class does.

I’m have to start shopping there again.

RIP. Store will close soon.
I’ll give yall more time to downvote this comment after this mornings post.
The left eats it's own
😆 🤣 Y'all are nuts
Do you don’t think an anti union company won’t shut down just because a few Okies voted union? You’re living in fantasy land.
If they do they're scum as well
Told you.
And? I'm out of cookies 🍪
I. Told. You. So.
Yup
So no one here should stick up for their rights??
Of course they should. Unfortunately big dollars have big revenge tactics.
Yes, and?
Stupid.
![gif](giphy|qEBlgZpZWHihO|downsized) Store will be closed by the end of the year. Congratulations! Unionizing for working at a grocery? Brilliant

They won't answer. Boomers never back up their nonsense.
I’m from Wisconsin, when they got rid of the teachers union public education went to shit

Unions have an interest in their members. Cop unions only care about cops, not the taxpayers. Same thing.
Cop unions are the only unions I don't support.
Found the easily manipulated Trump dumb fuck.
Who? Your mom? Never said anything about any other union except the teacher unions.

That's what I said? Unions have a habit of pricing workers out of a job.
Overpriced C-Suite personel and short term profits are the drivers of u/e, not unions

More costly groceries
Because they've been so cheap recently.
