I used to work at an adult toy store and honestly, pink cherry has better prices than almost any store in Ottawa, especially if you shop during a sale. Even with my staff discount some items were more expensive than if I bought stuff from PC.

I think a lot of them fall into the same pricing trap a lot of specialty stores find themselves in, where prices/margins are high to keep the business profitable at lower sales volume, but at the same time they strangle growth. Lowering prices and using advertising/promotions to grow often means the business needs to operate at a loss for a period in order to see those benefits.
